A minor group of people on this site feel that they've been bullied and/or excluded from factions, organisations and in general roleplay as a whole because of one or two mistakes they've made in the past. Individuals such as @Circe Savan, @Cloudbreaker, [member="Sanya Val Swift"]- to name but a few- find it difficult to integrate themselves in the community due to the bias and general dislike shown to them and their characters. I believe at this moment in time, Cloudbreaker has left the community.
My question is what are your thoughts on this people? And leading onto that, what would be the best way to 'fix' their situation?
Thanks for asking this. I know that a few people will feel this way every so often, and this leads to disputes, scrambling for Staff to change things so that they can be accommodated better, or asking me personally for advice on their situation.
There's always an answer, but it's never one I can give them, because only they can change their situations. It's not the answer they want, but I've been adamant about not giving
anyone a silver spoon in this community. Fairness and balance goes both ways. People who feel bullied, people who feel they're weighed down by their past mistakes, people who wish to escape their bad reputations... only you can fix this. I can not.
If you are being harassed, report it. But understand that we judge whether it is harassment or not, because we don't take you at your word. Decisions are made by evidence, not emotion. Judgements are passed with reason, not bias.
Most of these battles... they're not mine to fight. Not Staff's. They're yours. Chaos isn't a safe space. Staff isn't made up of Social Justice Warriors. We defend the rules and the spirit of Star Wars. Your reputation is your own, and only you are responsible for it. Fairness and balance. Everyone gets the same treatment, or else I'm no better than the community I left to form Chaos.
No silver spoons.
