I Of The Storm

Pale eyes noticed the flinch. Makai never wanted [member="Myra Elspeth"] to feel uncomfortable around him. They had been friends for ages after all. He enjoyed her company and would end up kicking himself in the rear if his actions caused her to leave because he was being an nerf herder. There was a sigh and he ran a hand through his hair.

"Yeah Els, there's nothing you or I can do." There was a defeated slump of his shoulders. "Just gotta keep swimming I guess."

Thoughts drifted to potentially asking his father to allowing him to take jobs way, way out in the black. Ones he would do on a long-term crew and not return for months at a time. It would be unfair to Ellie but he didn't see any solutions currently. Maybe something better would come along between 'here' and 'there' that he wasn't thinking of.

"What would you like to do? Before your Ma's reinforcements arrive..There's stuff to see if you want to brave the cold...or...I just feel bad you came all this way."

Myra gave Makai a half of a smile that indicated that it was alright. Well, as alright as it could be. At his inquiry, her small, narrow shoulder gave a roll.

"Honestly, ma is likely going to have someone come check on me soon." it wouldn't be like Danger to simply let Myra slip away. She'd be frantic, but the Queen of Trade would have had already set in place precautions should anything like this happen.

Not that Myra leaving the farm to fly half way across the galaxy to yell at Makai would have been something to plan against.

"It's fine. We can stay here." Truth be told, Myra didn't like crowds and even if she had braved what she had to get to Csilla -- the thought of going out in the cold with strangers still bugged her. Sensing that perhaps, Koa trotted over and his big, wedge shaped head gave a purring rub against her calf.

"Unless you gotta go somewhere?" which, thinking about it, was very likely. She just came out of no where without considering that Makai could very well be busy doing things.

"Sleep was my only plan. I try not to go anywhere unless I have to."

It didn't take long for Makai to live up to his promise of going nowhere. Breakfast was cleaned up. Laziness was next on his list, sprawled out on the worn-out couch but keeping himself to one end. Ellie was at the other end, blanket shared between them. Well, mostly shared. Makai had gave her most of it considering the cold and the fact he was too lazy to walk to his bedroom.

Eyes were heavy as some program Ellie turned on droned in the background. Yawn filled the silence between them and he tried to settle deeper into the couch. If he had the guts Makai would have invited Ellie to curl closer to him. Yet he suspected she was still quite upset.

"Sorry my life is so thrilling and exciting.I'm sure this isn't your ideal"
