Solan is more than half blind. He has to constantly either amplify his physical sight with Force sight or actively use dark healing to keep his eyesight strong enough to be useful. Otherwise the use of glasses is absolutely needed at all times.
Furthermore Solan's hands and arms have a normal tendency to twitch or the muscles to constrict when heat or someone touches them. This is due to both his heavy injuries time and time again to his own control of Pyrokinesis or in fact the one in which involves someone else touching him due to his memories of the only person he has truly loved. As such he hides with talk or moving his hands and arms anyways, otherwise if left to sit still they would shake uncontrollably.
Lastly, due to his skeleton being cartilaginous and not bone, he has on seven occasions total been confined to expensive and extensive healing sessions after battles and fights in where he has actually shattered his skeleton. This though will never deter him from getting into conflict as the more times he breaks the skeleton the memory is archived. Much in the same way he archives the memories of other people's emotions around him with his empathy. This is done in order to replicate the emotions, either his or others, perfectly in intensity and use that as a powerbasis should he need it and there is not enough sufficient emotion in the air already around him for him to leech off of.
