I'll Find You

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Hey!" Gently Munin grabbed her arm, dropping one of the bags he'd been carrying and wrapping himself around her.

"We have sunscreen." He reminded her as he planted a smooch on her neck. "And there's trees, and we have clothes and towels."

His fingers gently poked against her side, teasing slightly.

"You'll be perfectly fine." Munin nuzzled her cheek, holding her tightly for just a few more moments and simply enjoying the feel of her pressed against himself. He enjoyed times like this, when it was simple, easy. There was no war to fight here, no credits to earn, no information to find.

Everything was simple.

[SIZE=10pt]Bag dropped to the ground as he surprised her. Converse-clad foot caught on a root and she flopped against him as he pulled her close. A surprised squeak left her mouth. Thin arms wrapped around him as he held her up. A trill of laughter pushed through her belly as his lips tickled against her neck and cheek.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]“Yeah yeah,” thin-fingers found their way to his shoulders as she pulled back slightly to look into his face. Blue-eyes beneath glass lenses finding his blues. “You can always put the aloe on me later if you’re wrong.”[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]The smallest smirking smile faded as her face grew a bit more serious. Leaning back in, her lips found his as if she was worried she wouldn’t get to kiss him much longer.[/SIZE]

He smirked as she kissed him, his arms wrapping tightly around him and lightly squeezing.

There was something about this that made him want to give everything else up. Being an Information Broker was something he was good at, it was something he loved and enjoyed beyond all reason, but...he loved Spark more. If she asked him he would stop, but he didn't know if she ever would.

"I think you'll be fine." He smirked. "That time on Jakku must have given you some kind of immunity."

Jakku, that seemed like years ago now.

They had found the Red Codex there, the device that had done so much for him. "That or...well the aloe."

Munin wouldn't mind that either.

[member="Munin"]

"Jakku," she yelped and pulled away, squirming free of Munin's grasp but not before giving him one final light kiss. Hand scooped up her bag. One hand remained wrapped in Munin's. Better in case she tripped. #clutzyforceuser

"I still can't believe you called that a date."

A small smile was on her thin lips as they began walking back down the path toward the lake.

"Or that you convinced me to meet you there," she snorted. #frecklednosesnort

"All those flesh-eating sandstorms. Heat. Sun. No wifi." A fake shiver went through her skinny and odd-angled form.

[member="Spark Finn"]

He smirked. "You didn't complain once!"

Had she? Munin couldn't even remember. The Slicer could have sworn she'd mostly been quiet during that time and had almost been eager to meet him there. Of course the gettup she'd shown up in had completely covered her from head to toe, but given her rather pale skin...he couldn't blame her.

A small smile touched his lips.

"Besides it worked out." Munin said as he quickly jogged to catch up with her. "We didn't get hurt and we got the red codex."

Which had made him very rich. "So no complaining."

[member="Munin"]

"Hey," voice was quiet as a pointed index finger poked him in the arm. "YOU got the codex. Which probably paid for all this, right?"

Somewhat amused expression flashed across her pale, freckled features.

"And I remember some sliding down a ridge." Index finger went to poke him again. He was right. They didn't get hurt. Exactly. Right?

#fuzzymemories

"You still haven't told me what you were up to when I was...," voice trailed off. Fighting a war? Nearly dying? "Away," she settled on that. "I know when you're leaving details out." Voice was still quiet. Up ahead, she could make out the lake in a break in the trees.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"I was using the codex." He explained with a soft smile.

That wasn't exactly the entire truth again.

"The Black Sun had some information that a client needed..." There were no secrets in a relationship like this. Sure there was the odd white lie, the small jokes, but big stuff? No, if they kept that from one another then what was the point. "I ran into some trouble."

He shrugged, obviously he was okay now. "A droid was there too, saved me."

Munin frowned for a moment.

"Weird little guy." Munin said with a rather perplexed expression.

[member="Munin"]

A frown tugged at her lips. Didn't like the sound of that. "Trouble that you needed to be saved from."

Fingers laced against his own giving his hand a squeeze.

"What kind of droid?" Now it was curiosity in her tone. #totalnerd #alltech #alldroids #technopath

"What kind of trouble and how did it save you?" Woods opened up to reveal a rocky shore with a bit of sand closer to the water's edge. Sun was shining nice and warm. A small breeze blew off the lake's surface making it bearable for now.

He scratched the back of his head. Munin really didn't want to tell her everything, mostly because it sounded a lot worse than it actually turned out to be. In the end he'd gotten all of the information he'd wanted and everything worked out perfectly. Of course he also didn't want to say just why he'd been there in the first place but...

"The Black Sun came in at an unfortunate time." He explained. "The droid happened to be there and got me out after I got a bit hurt."

Munin shrugged again. "It wasn't that bad really...crazy kind of droid."

That was all that he could describe it as. The Slicer hadn't been able to figure out the make or model and the droid itself had insisted it was some sort of Artificial Intelligence rather than a droid. He had tried to figure out it's origins, but no luck.

"Said it was an experimental AI." He frowned for a moment, as if trying to remember.

[member="Munin"]

"Hm," was her only response as her blue speckled gaze looked at him closely. Sandy brows rose along her face. "A bit hurt? Like....were you shot or something?" Thought made her sick. The slicer knew he felt them same sensation when she went off. Like when he picked her up not too long ago, floating in space.

She wanted to say more but couldn't without being a hypocrite, so she kept her mouth shut.

#grumblegrumble

Coming to a stop in the sand, she dug into her bag to pull out a blanket, setting it down on the warm earth. Kneeling down, she began smoothing out the edges. "Did you get a picture of it?" Glasses were adjusted up the bridge of her freckled nose as she looked up.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"No...I was a bit busy." He frowned.

How was he going to put this? It wasn't an easy task, explaining to your girlfriend that you got blown up. It wasn't like he was completely exploded but...well there had been fire, there had been a lot of shockwaves, and it had hurt quite a bit.

He opened his mouth, then closed it.

"There was a..." Munin trailed off. "Teeny tiny..."

Munin looked at the floor. "Explosion."

The word was a whisper.

[member="Munin"]

Hands froze. Heels rocked back and her bony butt sat down hard in the sand. Mouth opened and blues widened beneath glass lenses as she stared up at Munin. #convenientlylookingaway

Arms encircled around drawn up knees.

"What?" She whispered, finally finding her voice.

Teeny and tiny didn't match in the same sentence as explosion. #duh

Fear swept over her. She usually wasn't one much for emotions. The blonde tended to be more logical oriented, black and white. But since Munin picked her up in space. Since her mind was ripped from the First Order space station, she couldn't quite get a handle on fear and anger. Fingers trembled and she pushed them against her legs.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"It was small!" Munin insisted. "I just got some burns is all."

He'd been able to walk after, though not well.

The droid had carried him pretty far away from the facility however. On the ship he'd needed just a few minutes of bacta treatment and everything had gone alright. In truth the wounds would have been worse had he been on his own, but Munin wasn't about to admit that to Spark. Not right now anyway. "It's fine."

The slicer lifted up his shirt.

"See? Not even a scar." He turned around. "Just a bit of an accident."

He really was okay, far better off than she had been.

[member="Munin"]

Dazed and frozen expression finally lifted as his shadow fell across her face, his form briefly blocking out the sun. Speckled gaze raked his form, looking for any bump or bruise out of place. Or new scars. Thin lips frowned.

"Burns?" Blonde-brows furrowed further.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Lower lip trembled, accusatory gaze drilling into her boyfriend. Hands went down to slip off her sneakers. "I tell you about all my missions and the...risks. I want you to tell me about yours. You didn't tell me you were going off to do anything before I left for the Alliance mission."

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Well when I got the call you were already gone." He pointed out. "I don't exactly have a schedule that I can follow, honey."

There was no condescension in his tone, only truth.

Alliance missions were planned, calculated, everything was carefully put in place. Munin's work? Not so much. Sometimes he just got surprised with things, and this was one of those things. He hadn't expected the call, but he couldn't just ignore it either. That wasn't how his business worked. "If I'd known I would have told you about it but when you're on your missions it's more dangerous to contact you than it is not to contact you."

Especially when she was undercover.

"I didn't want something I did getting you hurt because you were distracted." He explained with a weak smile.

[member="Munin"]

Mouth opened to protest. Then closed. Jaw clenched. Bony butt shifted and she sat herself down on the towel. Head turned away from Munin and stared out at the sparkling lake waters.

"We have that encrypted line. Just for you and me. It won't distract me. I promise. I just...want to know." Voice was barely a whisper. She cared about him. It was more than that. She loved him. And if anything happened to him. Like that one time with those strange people. And she couldn't help him.

She still blamed herself.

She felt the hot sting at the back of her eyes and turned her head even further from Munin.

[member="Spark Finn"]

He smiled at her, pulling her close. "Alright."

Munin could understand the impulse of course, he felt the exact same way. When something happened he wanted to be at her side, he wanted to help, and he wanted to know what was going on. The Information broker squeezed Spark for a second.

"It's okay." He told her softly. "I made it out fine."

He really had, no bad injuries, plenty of money, and a new mystery to solve. "If I'd gotten hurt more seriously I would've contacted you."

But it had honestly not been that bad.

[member="Munin"]

She remained stiff and rigid as he pulled her close. #alittlepetulant

"You better have," she grumbled, working hard not to smile. Head tilted up as she looked at him. She still didn't move to hug him back but she didn't move away from his pale, bare chest either. Ha. They were both so pale. Although, she was pretty sure she still had him beat there.

#paleFinn

"So that's it? The mission is over?"

[member="Spark Finn"]

"It's done." Munin assured her.

There was no way he was heading back to Nar Shaddaa for a while, that was damn sure. The planet was a powder keg that was set to explode. Munin knew that because he'd been poking into the comm traffic there at the request of Gorba the Hutt. Things weren't going well on the smugglers moon and Munin had absolutely no interest in being a part of it.

None.

"Black Sun doesn't know it was me." He explained. "The droid disappeared, and the client got the information he requested."

Meaning everything was done. "I won't have to deal with any of it anymore. I promise."

That was really all he could offer.

[member="Munin"]

Head slowly leaned against him.

"Okay," she breathed finally, breaking the relative peaceful air around the lake. Arms wrapped briefly around his core. She sighed once, listening to the sound of his thrumming heart within his chest. "I trust and believe you."

Said a lot for how far they'd come.

#milesandmiles

Arms unwound. "Eww, you're getting sweaty and hot already." She went to withdraw further, squirming away with a small smirk on her thin lips.
