I'll Find You

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Me?" He said with a small laugh. "Have you tried yourself?"

A small smirk touched his lips.

The Slicer knew that both of them weren't really the outdoorsy type. The most they got outside was usually in one of their holo-games, but every once in a while it was actually nice just to see nature. Besides their new home was centrally located inside of a beautiful forest, and in truth that deserved some kind of acknowledgement.

"We'll go in the lake." He told her with a smirk.

The water would be freezing, but she didn't need to know that.

[member="Munin"]

"Pffff," she sputtered, scooting more away from Munin.

#pfffffffffffffffft!!

Head shook, blonde strands of hair breaking free from their tied back place. Glasses wobbled on her freckled-nose. "No-uh. I am NOT going in there." Spark liked pools. Sure. But that was calm and controlled water. Water she could see. This lake stuff?

#nope

"You can take your sweaty self and go in the lake." Tongue stuck out boldly at the information broker as she scooted further away.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"What!" Munin called out with a grin as Spark tried to scoot away from him, his feet quickly falling into stride with her own so that she couldn't actually get away from him. His hands were tight on her hips and his eyes slowly narrowed.

"You're coming with me." His voice was a low silly threat. "Or eeeeeeeeeeelse."

Before Spark could react, before she could do anything at all the Slicer suddenly took one big step towards her and wrapped his arms around her waist. With one swift motion Munin scooped Spark up and over his shoulders, being very careful not to hit any of her wounds but still trying to do the best he could without harming her.

"We're going in the lake!" He insisted as he took a step towards the water.

[member="Munin"]

"What? Nonononon-eeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeeep," breath whooshed from her lungs as he scooped her up.

#madeitlooksoeasy #lightweight

Teeny form wiggled on her boyfriend's shoulder. "Hey, hey. Nonono. MUNIN." She screeched, skinny and bony arms wrapping tightly around her boyfriend's head with a bit of desperation, fingers definitely messing up his hair. Slender and pale legs kicked in the air. Fingers went to his ear and tugged.

"Munin! Or else what? What?" She helped, blue-eyes widening as the water came closer and closer.

[member="Spark Finn"]

Munin let out a yelp of pain as Spark tugged on his ear, the grip on her tightening slightly out of simple reaction.

”Ow!” The Slicer cried as his fingers settled on her skin, his step half faltering for a moment as his girlfriend distracted him.

”That hurts!” Which was probably the point in the first place. ”Youre just getting yourself in more trouble!”

What sort of trouble? Well Munin didn't exactly know, but it probably involved that lake he was heading towards. In theory the water wouldn't be too cold, and it was so clear you could already see the bottom. This world was untouched by industry, pollutants, pretty much anything that could have made it bad to swim in. Munin had picked this world for one reason and one reason alone.

It was calm.

#pfffffft

She sputtered. "You're the one in trouble!" Short of using the force, she was a horrible physical match for anyone. Might be able to win an arm wrestle match against a child. But even then.

Blues widened further as the water lapped up against Munin's ankles. Then his calves. His grip stopped any further wiggling. She whimpered, arms hugging around his neck now.

#awkwardly

"Hey. I still have my shirt on! And shorts!" It was a last ditch effort but she tried.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"So!" Munin called to her, big grin on his face.

This was supposed to be fun, right? They were at home, they were safe, and they were doing what couples did...at least he was pretty sure. Munin's only real reference to this sort of thing was holo-net movies, though he knew that they weren't always the best guide.

Still, Spark hadn't left him yet.

"Okay." He said as he stopped right in front of the lake. "I'll make you a deal."

The Slicer swayed slightly, comically so, as if he were about to fall into the lake along with Spark on his shoulder. "Say I'm the best boyfriend ever and that I'm always right no matter what or else we're gonna go in the lake."

There that was fair.

[member="Munin"]

PFFFFFFT #times2

Water was up to his waist now. Her thin body was curled over his shoulders like a cat hanging onto last hopes. Head perked up, eyes that went from squeezing closer to opening again remained open at the sudden hope. A deal. She had a chance for a deal?!

Then he spoke.

#thatnerfherder

"What?!" She squeaked. Lips twitched. "You are NOT always right! But..."

Would she sacrifice her logic to give into him? Save herself from lake water? Save her clothes from getting drenched?

Arms tightened around their hug over his neck and shoulders.

#nope

"Just. Be gentle." Blues squeezed closed as she waited for the inevitable. "And you'll be in so much trouble after this!!!"

[member="Spark Finn"]

"PFFFFFFF!" Munin called out as he took one big step half into the water.

The lake was surprisingly warm, sunlight cast over it throughout the summer and giving it a healthy life. He could see a number of fish swimming along the edges of the nearby rocks, either eating algae or simply living. He watched them for just a minute before he took another step, submerging himself up to his waist.

"You brought this on yourself." He said as he took another step. "I gave you a chance!"

He lingered for one more second. "You decided not to take it!"

Then without another breath of hesitation Munin dove in, carrying Spark right along with him.

[member="Munin"]

"Pfffft," lips sputtered again. "That was a ridiculous choice and you KNOW IT!" Loud volume for a Finn. Eyes squeezed closed and her death grip on Munin didn't let up as she suddenly found herself surrounded and submerged by lake water.

Definitely not warm.

#EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Fingers clawed and scratched at him, not really trying to hurt him. Just in surprise at the temperature. "Eeeeeeeeeep-gaaaaah," head surfaced from the water, legs wrapping around Munin's torso, arms clinging around his neck. She was definitely using his height to get herself as much out of the water as possible. Liquid dropped down her glasses still, miraculously, perched on her nose.

"Cold, cold, cold," she sputtered.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Hey hey!" Munin called as he felt himself get pushed under the water slightly.

"I'm not a tree!" The Slicer frowned slightly, shifting his weight so that he could float a bit more properly and actually catch a breath before she drowned him. After a moment he managed to stabilize himself, drawing upright and pushing his feet into the sands below. "You can't climb me."

He just didn't have the weight for that.

Sure he was taller than Spark, but he really didn't have that much more weight on him than Spark did. They were both pretty lanky, probably why they fit together so well in the first place. Munin spat out some of the water that had nearly drowned him, a frown pulling at his lips for a moment as he took a breath. "It's not that cold!"

He insisted.

"Just a few degreess below the old pool." Probably, that was more of a guess.

[member="Munin"]

"Yeah, you're too slippery to be a tree," thin-lips curled upward into a small smile. Grip didn't loosen but she wasn't exactly climbing him. Or trying to drown him anymore. #wetfish

Blonde head swiveled, and her grip loosened slightly so she could look around. She refused to touch the bottom though, so her legs remained tightly wrapped around the information broker's hips. "You brought this on yourself," she continued. "We all make choices and you made yours."

Smile was still there.

"And I'm cold!"

[member="Spark Finn"]

”Well then get into the sunlight “ Munin said as he wrapped his arms around her tight and pushed her further into the water.

He grinned slightly as he did so.

”It will be warmer!” The slicer claimed. ”You can't complain!”

Oh Munin very well knew that Spark would complain no matter what. He had dunked her in water and was now pushing her further into that water. Even on the off chance that she wouldn't seek vengeance for this later Munin absolutely knew that she would not be pleased with him.

Still, he was pretty sure she started it.

[member="Munin"]

Blues widened beneath slightly blurry glasses lenses in shock and partial betrayal as his grip tightened and they began going further out instead of back in. "What?!" She squealed.

"No!"

Legs quickly unwound from around her boyfriend.

A hand pushed through the water as she sent a big splash right into his face. There was partial real fear behind her eyes. The deep, dark waters of the lake scared her. She was Spark Finn. City girl. #NOTnaturegirl

There was a reason she never spent time in the wilderness.

She splashed him again for good measure and tried to squirm free.

[member="Spark Finn"]

His arms clamored around her, his fingers slipping as she wriggled. ”He-”

Munin found himself suddenly interrupted as a galon and a half of water was practically forced down his throat. He coughed a few times, his hands unwinding from around Spark as he caught his breath.

”The lake isn't any deeper than our pool was!” He claimed as he finally managed to catch his breath. ”And its just as clear.”

That was certainly true.

His coughs died down quickly and his eyes narrowed. His hand moving forward just a bit to splash Spark back.

[member="Munin"]

"Doesn't look that way!" She yelped and pushed away from Munin. Arms floundered for a second as she used muscles she hadn't used in forever. #fivever

She was making a beeline for the shore. Luckily for her, it wasn't that far away. Munin's splash got the back of her hair but her feet were kicking behind her, sending up a good bit of water back in his direction.

#payback #notastrongswimmer

Toes curled beneath her as she realized she could stand and began wading and sloshing through the water to the nice dry beach.

"You're in so much trouble!" She hollered with a smile on her face he wouldn't see.

[member="Spark Finn"]

Munin floated around in the water. "It's fine!"

It really wasn't all that bad. The water was cold at first, but once you started swimming around, especially in the sun, you got used to it pretty quickly. He frowned for a moment and then looked up at Spark as she slowly waded back towards the shore. He couldn't help but let out a little snicker at her words.

"What are you gonna do?" He asked. "Take my towel and run?"

The Slicer thought about that for a moment, then immediately regretted saying anything at all.

Sure it wasn't cold now, but maybe it would be later on and if Spark stole his towel...Slowly, surreptitiously, Munin began to follow after Spark.

[member="Munin"]

Munin may have tried to follow her. But her gangly legs were fast when they wanted to be. She was on the beach by the time he started his wade in. Snatching up her towel, she wrapped it around her waist and scooped up his clothes and towel.

And ran. #nahnah

She ran at an angle toward the water's edge, away from where Munin was easing out. She had full intentions to throw all his things in the lake water. #payback

"Payback!" She snorted and continued running, Munin very well could guess her intentions by now. Another snort left her nose.

[member="Spark Finn"]

"Hey!" Munin shouted as he splashed through the water.

He might not have thought the lake water was all that cold, but he wasn't hot on the idea of having all of his clothes soaked in it. He frowned and tried to swim a little faster to shore, kicking his feet against the rocky sand and pulling himself along.

"Don't do that!" He told her. "We'll have to wash those!"

They would anyway but...well now wasn't the time for logic. "Plus fish will eat them!"

That was entirely unlikely, but still.

[member="Munin"]

"Uh huh," she laughed and snorted again. Mischievous filled blues darting beneath glass lenses at his quickly approaching form. But not quickly approaching enough. Bony-arms swung wide and fingers meant for datapad typing released the bundle.

Clothes and towel went flying through the air to settle on the water's surface. Just a foot or so out from shore.

Plop-plop

#teehee

But still. Quite proud of herself, she turned to Munin with a pink tongue darting out between her lips. "Told you, you'd be in trouble."

#duh
