Invasion I'm On A Boat [OS-Republic Invasion of Manaan]

STAR WARS
EPISODE 22: LEAVE A MESSAGE AFTER THE TONE
http://youtu.be/t4DCOpG1oNE

Location: Space
Objective: Switch Targets. Again.
Allies: [member="Harley"] [member="Mordecai Zambrano"] [member="Darth Arcanix"]
Enemies: [member="Friedrich Stahlmann"] [member="Camellia Swift"]

Melkaroth felt anger boil within him as he was ordered to turn away from the enemy and switch targets yet again, and he decided that me must contront Zambrano about his command decisions.

"Comms, hail the Phobos."

"Channel open, sir."

"Lord Zambrano, this is Tyrin. I--"

"My apologies, Lord Tyrin, but Lord Zambrano is currently unavailable." Said an unfamiliar voice from the other end. "Do you wish to leave a message?"

Melkaroth's anger increased. "Unavailable? Where is he?"

"He's currently engaged in a boarding action, my Lord."

Melkaroth snarled in fury, signalling for the comms operator to cut the channel. If Zambrano was no longer on the bridge, that made the defacto commander Lady Ayra.

"Comms, contact the Immortal."

"Done, my lord."

"Lady Ayra, Lord Zambrano is no longer on the bridge of the Phobos, which puts you in command of the fleet. Now, I would highly reccomend that we--"

"Lord Tyrin, sorry to interrupt, but Lady Ayra is not here at the moment. Could I perhaps--"

"NO, YOU MAY NOT DELIVER A MESSAGE!" Tyrin's voice was filled with rage. "Comms, open a channel to the rest of the fleet!"

The young ensign's hands flashed hurriedly over the console, and after hitting several incorrect buttons he finally turned back to his commander, fear written all over his features. "Done, my Lord!"

"All ships, this is Lord Melkaroth Tyrin of the Reignfall. I'm taking command of the fleet. If there are any objections, feel free to note them in your personal log. It is time that we showed the Republic our power. All ships, bring forward batteries to bear on the enemy battlecruiser. Go to full reverse and keep your forward weapons locked on the enemy at all times. The Reignfall and Immortal will focus on the current target. Arcanix, you will destroy the enemy escort frigates to make way for our attack craft. Razers, move to intercept the bombers attacking the Immortal. I want the fleet to maintain a tight formation at all times. Carriers, have your Coralskippers and Yaret-Kors move back to engage the main enemy fleet and target the following co-ordinates on the enemy vessel." Melkaroth typed something hurriedly into his command console before forwarding it to the comms station--the co-ordinates of one of the Remembrance classes' shield generators. These vessels were equipped with Yaret-Kors, weapons that could bypass shields and punch immediately into the enemy hull. Melkaroth hoped to knock out the MC-180's shielding before his fighters were driven back so that the rest of the fleet could do the same.

"Lord Tyrin, the Phobos reports that the MC-180 is deploying counter-measures against the Dovin-Basals."

Tyrin nodded. "In that case, have them target the enemy picket-fleet instead. Have all boarding shuttles that have not yet been able to deliver their troops return to our fleet and wait for the Dovin-Basals to drain the shields of the enemy ships. Have the Vong commanders co-ordinate their attacks so that the boarding shuttles attack as soon as a ship's shields go down."

SUMMARY

 • Dovin Basals switch to target the enemy defense fleet, boarding shuttles pulling back to wait for the enemy shields to go down.
 • Immortal and Reignfall ordered to target the MC-180, Darth Arcanix ordered to target the escorts of the main enemy fleet. All Star Destroyers to present forward weapons to the main enemy fleet and go to full reverse immediately.
 • Razers ordered to Intercept enemy bombers attacking the Immortal while the rest of the fleet's defense guns continue to fire on them.
 • All fighters/bombers ordered to switch from the enemy defense fleet to the main fleet and target the MC-180's shield generators with their shield-bypassing weapons. Will take one turn to arrive.

Matsu viewed her ranging as something akin to self-preservation, to being smart over being sneaky. She was small and had poured her entire life thus far in to understanding the Force over her ability to fight with a lightsaber or many of the weapons her fellow Sith loved. She naturally chose her strength over throwing herself against an opponent physically.

It was instinct that ruled her when the enemy was close.

Her confrontation with the Jedi had allowed her to track her more easily, to pinpoint the cascading fall of pain (a break for a break, a fissure to remember you by, to remember me by) followed by a white-hot lick of despair and then…almost anger. She awoke in response, shivering as she felt amber creep in to her irises. However the buzzing hiss of Vong, the sudden jittering storm of emotions, the building power in the pit of her stomach – all combined to make Rekali nearly invisible to her as she made her approach. That was, until Matsu saw a flash of the light reflected off the Jedi’s armor right in front of her.

She had only a split-second to gather herself, not even close to enough to move out of the way or use a push through the Force to send Rekali flying though both options flashed through her mind before she found herself lifted in the air. It was only enough time to partially shield herself in the Force, calling it around herself to absorb some of the impact though not enough – she had the wind knocked right out of her, no sound coming out of her even though she screamed when a piece of rubble from the bridge pierced through clothing and flesh in to her back, right next to her left shoulder blade. (Don’t think of it right now – not now. KILL HER.) Anger drove her, fed her, made her block out the pain in the same way Rekali must have been numbing her own – survive, survive, survive.

Due to the way the Jedi had come in for her, spearing her in the middle, her head was presumably at stomach-level on Matsu. This was one of the few times her short stature relative to others could pay off. Time, time was of the essence and Matsu had already wasted enough – perhaps enough for Rekali to avoid what was coming for her – but Matsu shot her cybernetic arm out, durasteel claws and a freakishly strong grip wrapping around whatever they could gain purchase on: loose armor, a throat (just HOLD HER STILL!). Her natural hand wrapped around the Tal’galar Kal strapped at her side, wrapping her hand palm-up around the grip so when she unsheathed it she could stab sideways from underneath the Jedi, taking aim at whatever was closest – perhaps a shoulder, arm…a neck…a temple…. (Quick movements, mechanical, pierce anything, everything.)

It was an unusual weapon for a force-user won under even more unusual circumstances (she won it in a card game, possibly after enough drinks to intoxicate even a force-user - she was no Corellian, admittedly) and it would most likely be the last time she saw it’s like again, but it was worth it if she could pierce right through Rekali’s armor to the flesh beneath. However the time it had taken her to execute after having the wind knocked out of her, the screaming moment of pain that had wracked her, could have been enough time for Rekali to escape that kind of assault even with the death-grip of Matsu’s monstrous cybernetic.

But their proximity, her position pinned beneath the Jedi, screamed of danger and Matsu needed space (despite the wonderful visual of hellbent Jedi Master against blood-soaked Sith Lord, two women with every intention of destroying each other) she drove her knee upwards, hopefully jarring the Jedi’s spine through her hips or the middle of her pelvis and sending waves of pain in to whatever injuries had been done her. At almost the same time she threw a force-push through her knife-hand in an attempt to throw the Jedi off her, perhaps in to a herd of rushing Vong or right off the side of the bridge.

Armor-piercing knife is mentioned in my first post of the invasion for anyone following along. Just don't want it to seem like I'm pulling it out of nowhere. HAHA, LOOK AT MY MAGIC KNIFE THAT I PULLED FROM MY WIZARD POCKET OF SPACE.

Keanu sat out side the zone of destruction. His ship severely damaged, he dared not enter the fray. His shields were completely gone, he had hull and stabilizer damage, and his engines were damaged to the extent he probably couldnt outrun anything faster than a life pod. He felt helpless as he sat engines idling watching the battle unfold. He HAD to do something, but what? He let out a frustrated huff and banged his fist down on the console.

The chaotic torrent of hatred and power began to circulate around the Sith Lord in the form of a mad cyclone as the Grandmaster took steps to contain the devastation being wrought by the Sith Lord, and for a moment as the sphere began to condense around him and trap him within his own desolation it seemed that the Lord had been contained at last. However; within the turbulent storm of madness, the Sith Lord stood serene in the eye of the storm, power reverberating through his very being like a raging river, unstoppable and majestic. The shards of broken ground began to close in on him from all sides, but as the first stone brushed up against the thick plates of the Sith Lord's armor, the cyclone came to a grinding halt and stood deathly still. Then, with a groan, the stones started to slowly move in reverse, and began to push against the sphere that threatened to smother him into submission.

"I... am Vornskr."

The booming voice of the Sith Lord trapped within echoed across the plains of their battle, the storm now beginning to rage outward instead of inward, fighting against the bonds that attempted to enclose it. Opposite forces clashed in a violent display of power and aggression, the Dark smashing against the Light in another skirmish that had been raging eons before either of these two beings were ever born, both of them being the newest champions to wield the powers innate to them.

"The destroyer... The end of all things."

The power within thrummed brightly now, as the surface of the bubble began to crack and splinter under the might strain pushing on it from within, and bits of the rock being used to break it open began to bulge through the cracks. Where as before the Sith Lord let the storm rage violently around him, he now channeled that chaos into a precise strike against the shield itself, clawing viciously to break free from almost certain doom. His strength came from the energy he had absorbed throughout the fight, which had been replenishing his own energy as he fought, and now he was unleashing it to burst forth.

"Inevitable, indomitable!"

With a might boom, the bubble surrounding the Sith Lord erupted into thousands of shards of energy, and the stones uses to shatter it flew in every which way. They crashed end over end, rolling further and further away from the epicenter of the power that moved them, and then they rolled no more. Within the center of it all stood the imposing Sith Lord, levitating a few feet above the broken ground as power coursed through him, his eyes blazing with such a controlled hatred that it was blinding to look upon.

"Look upon me and you see death incarnate. The unmaker of worlds."

The Sith Lord crashed into the ground, another smaller ripple of power exploding outward as he rose and slowly stalked towards the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order. With a snap-hiss the blade at his side exploded into existence, and he angled the blade towards the Grandmaster as he came to a full stop several meters away. The power, used to explode free from his bondage, faded from his eyes, yet there still remained the hateful afterglow of the Dark Side, ever present, and ever dominating.

"You think to entrap me, Grayson? You will not find me so easily trapped."

Gray-blue eyes dragged away from the odd ripple in the monitors at the proximity of Stali's voice. Eyes bulged beneath glass lenses slightly and she flinched, trying to keep her mask of calmness and professionalism plastered across her face. Then the teen gulped.

O. M. GEEEE. This guy that I just meant who is really, really cute is totally focusing ALL his attention on me! And he's so close. Does my hair look okay....I don't have any of my lunch still in my teeth, right? What if he thinks slicing is the worst? But I need to respect myself. Pffft. He's way too old. And he has that tail. But those dreamy eyes. No. Spark. But. What if he...

Her head nodded to some muted question he asked as she snapped herself away from her crush thoughts.

"Invisible barrier, right." She squinted at the space he pointed too. "Okaaaay." She settled for a moment, thinking of that time she had a holocron in class. Brows scrunched up in concentration and her face turned bright red as if she was holding her breath.

Very slowly, the air seemed to sparkle in tiny pinpricks of blue and white light that made up a small sphere around her.

Just as quickly, it disappeared as the alarms in the room went off. She gulped in air and looked to her really-not-a-crush-but-dreamy-eyes (no right, really not a crush!!!!)- "Was that oka--," voice cut off as she saw two distinct figures on the outside feed between billows of smoke.

Using the force and her fingers, she pulled up the system's second set of turrets outside the second set of blast doors and fired multiple crimson shot after shot at the breachers. (Nepth and Carach).

Once [member="Mordecai Zambrano"] looked at Sabena, the young woman reflexively jerked back - just slightly, though, and barely moving. He was much taller than Sabena - at least half a foot, if not appearing to be more so due to his gaudy, terrifying armor. Sabena had raised her right arm, which held her lightsaber hilt. She stood still as [member="Lira Dajenn"] gave the command to scatter.

The other four Jedi moved as they were commanded. They along with Sabena witnessed Mordecai charge at Lira. They would have moved in - were it not for Lira’s weapon requiring a considerable among to room lest it accidentally lashes an ally.

Eyes glued to the Kraetos shield, Sabena once again touched a pouch on her utility belt with her left hand. She saw the amphistaves on the shield. One could not deny it being Yuuzhan Vong make, especially when other Jedi have fought against such a thing.

A thought entered Sabena’s mind - a similar one that she had earlier. Bafforr pollen, from gold and purple trees found on Ithor, were said to have adverse effects on certain Yuuzhan Vong creatures. Indeed, the Kraetos shield would have been affected by Bafforr pollen if exposed to such a thing. The pollen was supposedly rare off-world of Ithor, yet the Jedi had an interest in gaining a stockpile of such a thing.

With that thought in mind, Sabena opened her pouch. She reached in only to pulled out a handful of powder just a second after. She took a step toward Mordecai - still some distance away from him. She then threw out her left arm toward Mordecai. The powder flew from her hand. It spread out a couple meters wide - forming what might be seen as a fast moving cloud of coal dust. It threatened to reach Mordecai from his right as Lira’s light whip rushed toward him.

First step to salvation is to fight that which drew you from the light. Blades flew to his hands as the order was given to scatter. He looked towards the other Jedi as they moved, even though he had gone home - he had returned to the Republic, the dark side still haunted him. He wanted to use it. It itched at his fingertips. He could easily throw lightning or some other horrid attack towards the Sith that made the attack towards Sabena. Emotions pulled at him as he didn’t want any of his friends to get hurt especially her and Lira who seemed close.

Rage, Anger, Frustration and literally any emotion that fell into that category swirled within his chest. He had to fight it, Sopher had to remain cool and collected. Feeding on the others, he kept his blades drawn and took a moment to focus himself. The last thing they needed was for him to succumb to the darkside, he had started his journey back to the light - it was time to destroy those that belonged to the shadows. Remembering the code, he mumbled it quietly under his breath and awaited an order and kept his guard up. The man had failed before and he wouldn’t fail to protect this time.
His name meant shield and that was what he was going to do.

Aaralyn loudly groaned as she impacted the smaller framed woman and the ground and then came back up. ‘Damn it all to hell and back, this woman is just crazy!’ She thought to herself, and with that thought and brief moment of distraction – she felt the grip of Matsu against her armor plating. It wasn’t painful, but it was annoying. Aaralyn twisted against it, allowing herself some remove to move, and it was that twist that saved her life. The sound of a blade being withdrawn and grinding in resistance against it's sheath caught her attention - and it was in that moment that she failed to move.

There was nothing to describe the pain she felt when the blade pierced through her armor and flesh.

She screamed as loud as possible, a bloodied scream that allowed saliva to spray from her mouth. Her teeth would then gnash down in pain as she growled low in her throat, salival and blood trickling from the edges of her mouth. She tried to focus away the pain as it embraced her and overcame her form - but she just couldn't. Her vision, for what it was worth at the moment would blur red and even darken. The blade would slice cleaning through muscle and fatty tissue, landing between her 8th and 9th rib on the left side. Her sudden inability to breath caused a panic that flooded her mind and the Force itself went into an overdrive like state - allowing for a clear focus. Her senses went numb, the pain subsiding suddenly and in a move to survive, Kor-Vella engaged in a flurry of violet energy and lashed out from her right hand.

The Force was there, it always was there, Aaralyn just didn't feel it as she should have. In the current state of overdrive, it came to the call of the beaten down Jedi Master. She willed it to aide her as she jerked free from the grip of Matsu and twisted hard left. In her twist, Kor-Vella would come upwards in an arc/slash movement - knowing the position that the Crazy One was in and where her cybernetic arm was positioned, all that was left was the living arm. Aaralyn knew it was the only chance she had to survive, as Matsu would probably rip free the blade and continue to stab her until she no longer had a heart-beat. It was a chance she took and one that proved to be the key to her survival. Her blade would flash up and through, severing the arm of [member="Matsu Xiangu"] from the middle of the bicep and below - allowing a brief moment of freedom.

In that moment of freedom, however, Aaralyn would stumble back and be caught in the blast of the Force push launched by the dark woman and in turn – tumble across the bridge in a heap of limb and armor. She impacted the ground and then flipped up and over the side-barrier. As she tumbled over the side barrier, a knee jerk reaction of survival kept her from going into the darkened waters below. A call from the wells of the Force made her left hand jerk out in reaction and she latched onto the side of the duracrete barrier with such force it crumbled slightly under the pressure. In desperation and pain, she trembled as she dangled above the water, gripping the duracrete with every ounce of strength she could muster. Her body felt extremely heavy and weak, all this pressure and weight pulling her down - she desired to let go.

The red would threaten her vision, shading it over with darkened edges - she couldn't figure out why. Perhaps it was the blade that bore into her side and into her internal organs causing who knows what kind of damage. The blade of the Crazy One, a woman who would be damned to all the circles of hell.

She could feel the warm liquid oozing from the wound, making it's way down her back and her left side. The sensation would slowly seep down her legs and into her boots, her gaze adjusted only for a moment to gaze down at the dagger in her side. Crimson fluid seeped from openings in the sides of her armor and dribbled down pieces of glistening cortosis, she could feel the warmth threatening her lungs and her mouth - death was swirling around her. Her blood would drip from her body as she dangled above the waters in Ahto City (As again, no one knows height.) Her fingers maintained their tight grip, despite it all, on the duracrete barrier. Her right hand would tremble as she deactivated her lightsaber and placed it upon the broken chestplate - she would atleast ensure she had one heirloom left. With her right hand free now, she managed to swing it up and bring it to grab onto the barrier as well, relieving pressure from her left side - the more injured side. With a gasp of relief and a brief cry out of pain, she relaxed a bit but still dangled above uncertainty.

“Rowdy!” She gasped into her comlink and in return, a broken warble would come back. “C..oordinates.” She inhaled deeply, tears would blur her vision and threaten her more than the hazy red that she saw through the broken lenses of the HUD. “Ma..rk the..m.” Another harsh breath would be taken, darkness threatening to take over her clouded red vision. She couldn’t get the words out, her mind was numb, her teeth were aching. Things felt cold. Why? That damned woman would pay if Aaralyn didn't die somehow, she swore it.

It was her first real mission in space. She had practically clocked in a millennium's worth of real flight hours as an atmospheric duster, but here was the real deal. While Sressechka was certainly certified to be flying this beautiful thing, that was about it. It would all be instincts and luck from here on as her group came in to assist the rest of the Republic forces in this tumultuous battle.

"This is Blue Five," she called out to the limping starfighter as her squadron streaked on towards the battle like nighthawks. "Are you alive or what?"

"Acknowledged," Taeli said, groaning slightly as she was forced to change targets yet again, but at least Melakoth seemed more determined to actually command the fleet, even if Alicia was preparing some fun from the feel of things. Her eyes fell upon one of the Republic's Azalus Flak Frigates, something that would definitely need to be destroyed to keep the Sith fighter advantage.

"Have all guns train on that frigate and open fire, but keep our flak guns and point defense systems active to prevent the enemy from doing any more fighter attacks on the Immortal."

"Yes, Lady Arcanix," the lieutenant said with a salute.

The heavy turbolasers and ion cannons opened up with abandon, streaks of green and blue energy heading for the frigate. Missiles were launched towards it as well, and she ordered another hypervelocity volley at it to be nice and safe. The barrage would continue until that ship was floating flotsam. The lights dimmed as the cannon drew power from non-essential systems such as the weapons, shields, engines, and life support. Everything else was being diverted to those four systems. The beam fired carrying its super-accelerated slugs right towards the frigate.

Summary:
As per orders, switched target to the one of the Azalus Flak Frigates (don't care which is targeted, you decide Friedrich) and opened up with heavy turbolasers, heavy ion cannons, hypervelocity volley, and heavy energy torpedo launchers. (OCC note: seems to be a reoccurring theme and I hope the dice are with me this time around lol)

Camellia watched impassively as the flashes of light exchanged across space before her. She had a wonderful view of the ships changing positions, gliding through the emptiness that surrounded them, batteries firing their intense destruction, but none of that mattered. Instead her eyes had become glued to the sensor suite, watching the blips representing all the ships on the board, all the players in action, all the lives fighting and dying over a water world for some kelp. Special kelp to be sure, something that could heal the wounded and save lives almost as efficiently as bacta. However, it didn't alter the Rendili woman's mood one bit as she watched the marker for the Cornet vanish from the display. Commander Dale had been the one to put in the call for reinforcements the report said. They had taken a huge beating and kept fighting, staying alive for the main response fleet to arrive. Only to die to butchers and scum.

As the Admiral's maneuver was implemented Camellia noticed that the Warhammer Destroyer was no longer being targeted by the enemy guns. They were behind the Immortal now so it couldn't target them, her helm officer had to turn their ship sideways so their broadside hit, they didn't have concentrated power like the MC-180 or ancient Imperial Destroyer designs. The enemy's tactics appeared to change though, their ships began to move and Camellia only sighed listening to the reports. That dreadnought of theirs was sluggish and huge, it was the biggest thing here and it definitely did not appear to be able to match the speed of the Republic Destroyers, the Darkblades were only equally as fast too, so anything they did would result in a stalemate speed wise, however, the Republic didn't have a planet and its gravitational pull behind them to present a obstacle like the Sith did.

Nonetheless, the newly ranked Commodore couldn't help but admire the Sith's decision to divert several bomber squadrons towards the main fleet. However, they choreographed their approach clearly. They were aiming for the Remembrance and it made grin. They knew what ship was the biggest threat, however, all of The Ebbing Heart's squadrons had been held back per the Admiral's orders. And now six squadrons were arrayed in a net, a net that would encircle and collapse upon the Sith bombers that tried to go for Stahlmann's vessel. "Direct our flak cannons at the enemy's bombers after the Remembrance. Order our squadrons to assume an enclosing formation, I want the front to unload their payloads into the oncoming enemy ranks and then have those coming in from the sides and the far ends from behind trail and gun them down if they scatter."

After cutting down the two republic soldiers, she stumbled away. The bacta had kept her alive, but she need some treatment. As the shot had penetrated her armour, and pierced her waist. She was still bleeding, she head down the corridor. The was a medic there treating the wounded, she slumped down and waited for him. She was a priority over other troops, as she was only lightly wounded and could get back into the fight. Those that could not where lower on the list, she took of her top layers of armour. He started injecting the wound, to stop her from bleeding internally. He also banged the wound, and got someone to give new armour for her torso. Her wound on her arm, was nothing major. The painkillers he had given her for stomach wound, was more than enough.

As she was being treated she saw troops, vong and sith moving explosives up. They were something called entry explosives, they started setting them on the bulkheads. They then started piling thing in the way of it in the corridor, so the backblast would not get them. They moved back to safe distance, as harley was getting ready for round two. They planned to detonate, then fire auxiliary grenades into the area. Then vong would rush in first, followed by the sith troopers. She planned to keep back, as she did not want to die, from rouge grenade or shot fired at her.

Zero hour came, the explosive were let off vapourising the bulkheads. As well as a lot of the obstruction they placed behind it, to stop the back fire. Hot smoke poured from the corridors, as the sith troops fired the auxiliary grenades into the enemy. The vong rushed forward, repeating blasters cut some down almost instantly. Though they kept moving forward, the sith troops piled behind the corridor shook with the explosions. As both side let of more grenades, then it was harley turn she came in with more sith troops. The fire had died down, due to deaths on both sides. She clambered over dead and dying vong and sith troops to get to other end. The republic marines, were already reorganizing themselves. As the sith troops, let the bayonets on the blasters come out. The fired at them as charged in, know was time of chaos. When people would accidently kill a friend, she then launched herself at the republic line. They were busy fighting the sith troops as she did, the first cut she gave was the deepest, cutting a republic marine in two. She span cut in two a sith trooper and another republic marine. She paused as she realized she killed one of her own, then republic marine, stuck bayonet into her. The pain sharp and crisp, she screamed in pain, and collapsed to the floor. As she did, she spun her lightsaber round cutting his arm off. The sith troops and the vong ran past her, the republic was in retreat. Though there were very few place to run, may be the next part would be there last stand. She winced in pain, as medics came up the corridor looking for walking wounded to patch up.

Vrag faltered for a moment, one eyebrow arching behind her visor as the Jedi readily agreed to surrender. This can't be r — flickered through her mind, and a moment later the Jedi proved her right, flinging a smoke bomb at the floor with a cliché one-liner. The Sith didn't bother pursuing her, confident that one of the many troops or Vong in the sector would shoot her down now that she had turned her back in flight. No, the first order of business was getting to the generator and sinking the dying city. Really, at this point, it would be a coup de grâce for the complex that had seen far too much warfare and power struggles for its own good.

Shielded and surrounded by the squadrons of One Sith forces, the firrerreo made for the west entrance to the generators, where a considerable number of their own were pushing forward. It didn't feel quite right, leaving the North with only troops and Vong for protection, but as she ran down the debris-covered streets Vrag remembered [member="Ludolf Vaas"] who had been engaged with another Jedi near the entrance the last she'd seen him. It had seemed he had the fight well in hand, though, so the Sith continued with her course unaltered, the first sounds of heavy battle already ringing in her ears as she rounded a corner.

Before her opened quite the stunning vista, and if Vrag were the more emotional sort she might have stopped to admire the scene. As Force would have it, she wasn't, and the Acolyte dove into the gruesome skirmish with gusto, her crimson blade cutting left end right as she flanked the ill-prepared Republic troops. Her advantage didn't last forever, though, and soon she found herself engaged in a close-quarters fight with a few enemies.

Mastery of Makashi, now that was something Kana dreamt of. One day, perhaps, but her training was still not complete. As much as she tried to hide it there was admiration coming from her side as even an opponent could be worthy of such a thing. It had taken her as a lot of practice to reach her current stage. To think on how much time it had taken her opponent to truly master it was almost daunting.

The clashing sound and sparks of sabers colliding told Kana that her attack had been blocked as red mixed with green. The excitement was cut short as a sudden push at her leg caused her to lose some of her balance. A sharp burning, cutting pain rang through her left shoulder and it was as good of a sign as any that she had been hit. On reflex she let out a pained scream and spun away from her opponent.

Moving her shoulder in a clockwise manner she assessed the pain. The wound burned but she’d live. Usage wasn’t out of the question but she’d do well not to use it. With her eyes on the Sith Lord once more a new flame of determination burned inside of her and she quickly readapted her Makashi stance.

Saber in her right hand she retaliated with an attack of her own. Holding her saber with her palm facing her left-hand side she thrust her blade towards her opponent’s right shoulder before quickly changing the attack’s direction with the flick of her wrist. Her attack was now aimed at delivering a cut to her opponent’s right knee in an effort to bring him down. Anything to make sure they both got out of this fight without dying.

The duel led them to where the generator, a room decorated with several electrical boxes and outlets and ruined computer terminals whose new purpose would be delegated to salvage and spare components, was located; and where the beginnings of her first priority lie. From the adjoining corridors blaster fire and sounds of sizzling blades from lightsabers reverberated off the concrete and metal walls, while numerous colours flashed, displayed, and haunted their sheer designs. If she was not focused on the task before her, she would find the patterns hypnotizing if not beautiful with the mixture of colours blending together like some light show art. She was, however, surprised that the generator was not yet secure which gave testimony to the tactical defense of this location by the Republic, Jedi, and the local species.

Her meticulous eyes shifted from the Jedi through the room as they accumulated the destruction of this facility's precinct. She knew that the Dark Council and their military advisers and their underlings could not have forseen the cost of this destruction in terms of monetary standing. The victor here would be saddled with dispensing numerous amounts of credits to not only maintain their bounty, but to undertake the daunting task of rebuilding it. For all the misgivings and misconceptions about the Sith, they were creators and builders rather than just an Order of destroyers. They craved the luxuries in life just as every other species and organizations did, the difference was they took and took and took. But they also gave back. The citizens under the rule of the Sith did not live in fear as most would speculate. They lived in peace but were subjugated to martial law, just as the Core Worlds did under the gaze of the Republic. The citizens of the Sith Empire knew their place and unlike the citizens of the Republic, they did not need constant reminding of who held their leash.

It began to occur to Xhexania that the Jedi did not wish to remain close to her. Every chance the Jedi had, she would exploit the opportunity to put distance between them. Xhexania was forcing the Jedi to fight from her heels, never allowing her to unleash a series of offensive moves that would shift the tide of the duel. But suddenly that changed. In a split instance the Jedi changed their situations. Luckily for Xhexania she was left-handed which resulted in her wielding her weapon with that primary hand. By stepping into the attack she nearly negated the strength of the left handed strike by the Jedi. Quickly she shot out her right forearm to smash into the Jedi's wrist redirecting the blade away. Unfortunately, the left blade slide down burning through her cloak and searing the flesh on her upper right arm until it finally passed away harmlessly. Fortunately, Xhexania was a mistress to pain and was able to block most of it out as she whipped her blade down vertically to catch the blade with her own, stopping her foe's attempt to slice through her but made the mistake of stepping back right into the path of the durasteel chunk.

She briefly caught sight of it in time to twist her most of her body away from being pummeled only to have it rip through and across her left shoulder, tearing cloth and flesh alike. Blood spurted from the open wound splashing on to the floor. Needing to address the open wound before it hampered her, she reached into her utility belt as she stepped backwards and produced first a handful of small green and yellow capsules then hurled them at the open space between them. Upon contact with the floor, they exploded quickly casting up a thick smoke screen designed to choke and shroud the eyes with tears of any one foolish enough to step into it . Reacting swiftly, she again reached into her belt, produced a small metal ball with a toggle switch on the side and flicked it. An eerie sound beeped from it then the sphere flashed once. With a sinister smile on her face, she rolled the tiny explosive through the smoke and toward the Jedi. Surprise.

While the sphere moved into the smoke, Xhexania took her hilt with her right hand and gently lowered the blade on her shoulder's wound to cauterize it, putting a halt to the bleeding. Xhexania snared in the direction of the Jedi, adding this new pain to the one from the burn and the initial wound she just closed, adding this to her passion in the Dark Side.

Smoke enveloped the room in a surprisingly rapid pace as a noxious cloud threatened to overthrow the light, consuming the clarity of vision and hampering Sera’s focus on the Sith. As she slipped away into the vapors, the flicker of the bloodthirsty crimson blade dispersed, leaving nothing but the shade of fumes to taunt her. Sera cursed, having no interest in tempting the fates by stepping into whatever potential trap lay beyond the smokescreen.

“Schutta…” She furrowed her brow as her Lekku twisted in frustration. Her opportunity to end the fight just slipped through her grasp, having watched the chunk of metal smash against [member="Xhexania"] , opening a wound on her shoulder that may have been just enough distraction to maneuver her way into a forced surrender. It was too easy, too much to hope for, and thus it would not be so.

Knowing that the advantage was now with the Sith, as she was unable to see from what angle Xhexania would make her next move, Sera force pulled the primary auxiliary switch on the wall, reversing it’s direction and cutting power to this sector of the facility, and likely a portion of the city. With a solitary loud snap, the lights went out. The generator within the room fell silent, the loud fans running within it’s core died out, leaving nothing but complete darkness. There would be a five minute delay before backup power would kick in, but for now, the facility lay in darkness. While this wouldn’t directly benefit Sera, it would at least even the odds, as now both were forced to fight in the darkness. She silenced her blades, and waited a few moments in the eternal darkness that surrounded her. A flicker of light towards the far end of the corridor that they had come from was burning brighter, the fire was spreading gradually. Still no way out, and now entrenched in darkness, the situation wasn’t going according to plan at all. Did she even really have a plan?

Is...That?…IS SHE INSANE?! Sera mustered a blast of Force energy and lept backward as a small metallic object tapped on the floor, flashing the unmistakable, unforgettable blip of a thermal detonator. As she landed on the opposing side of the room, a blinding flash erupted, followed by a rattling boom encompassed the room. For a moment, all she could see was white, as if someone had held a beam of light directly into her eyes, her ears heard nothing but the intense ringing of a chime. Her vision was clouded as the debris and smoke violently tore through the room. Then it happened…The little ball of joy Xhexania tossed created a beautiful display of fireworks, the electrical panels and controls blew out, sizzling as they made their final farewells, tendrils of current reaching out across the room to find freedom. Sera felt a few taps of voltage caress her back and legs, gritting her teeth in furious annoyance.

“You’re going to bring the building down on us! Are you trying to kill us both!?”

Sera’s vision returned. The darkness was welcoming this time, the stinging sensation began to subside and her hearing was creeping back. She could feel the cracks and strains on the floor as she stepped side to side, searching for the Sith in the utmost caution. The back of her leg still burned, reminding her that things could get much worse if she wasn’t careful. Once again the sound of metal flexing like a rubber band echoed throughout the hallway.

This isn’t good. Being crushed to death is not on my list of things to do today.

When she’d lost her left arm it had been messy. She’d sheared it off herself, digging through muscle and connective tissue with a piece of scrap metal until it had been hanging by a thread. Krius Syonis infiltrated her mind then, forced her to believe taking a limb was the only way to save herself from the fires he’d created in her mind (a decade ago, the reason she chose mentaism), had left her for dead and she’d almost bled out. She remembered the curious sensation of ‘lightness’ distinctly, one of her clearest recollections – lifting what had been left was like nothing.

This was like that.

She knew what was coming the moment she heard the saber snapping open, the violet glow filling her vision as it swept sideways and sliced clean through the arm she had left. It was her turn to scream, her pain fueling the last of the force-push she managed to throw at the Jedi and sending her flying towards the edge of the bridge. There was nothing there when she moved what was left of her right arm, all her moves violent as she overcompensated for weight she no longer needed to lift. She clutched at the half of her bicep she had left with her cybernetic hand and groaned in pain, spitting out blood that had pooled in to her mouth from the slowly stemming flow from her nose before it could choke her. Pain radiated up her shoulder, laced through her upper back to meet with the ache from the rubble lodged in her upper back and for a moment she drifted in shock.

(Relax. Slip in her head and watch her die. You can feel her fading. Go ahead, spectate a death well-deserved, how hard it must be to breathe, the kind of pain that will take her breath for good when she hits the water with so much broken. You’ve wondered what it would feel like to drown…stay with her. Watch the sun get smaller from underneath.)

No. She came back to herself, perhaps seconds later, and let out another cry of pain as she wrenched herself to sit up and dragged the stump of her right arm so she could see if it’d been fully cauterized. From what she could see it looked as if it was clean. (Small favors, Jedi. If you don’t die I hope to see you again.) If it was in her nature to gloat she may have gone to the side, leaned over with her hair wild in the wind over the ocean below with a demon’s expression to watch Rekali. But she didn’t have enough hubris to believe that wasn’t asking for it and instead pushed herself off the ground with her remaining arm, hissing in pain as the wound in her back screamed in protest. Once standing she realized the weight of her cybernetic was even more pronounced with no counterweight, having to correct the lean of her body as she righted.

Turning from the broken edge of the bridge and shoving [member="Aaralyn Rekali"] from her mind she moved back in the direction of the blast doors. Slowly at first, but eventually gaining some speed as rage and the burning thought of eventual revenge blotted out her pain. She would be in agony later, and for weeks after as she was fitted with a new limb and learned to wield it – but not now. She would see this through. (Easier to lose the second. Keep moving. You can't stop now.)

She had drawn even with Gabriel and another Jedi when she felt the presence of another mind not originally with their team, one that threw herself in to battle without hesitation farther back in Republic forces. Matsu hoped she could make her way quickly to the front of the bridge – she’d need help with the blast doors with only one arm to speak of.

The mortar strikes not far away from their position shook the ground beneath their feet, but the heavily armored Sith had an easier time of maintaining her balance than her unfortunate enemies, who perished for their lack of equilibrium. With the men dispatched Vrag moved forward, deeper into the chaotic melee on the bridge. The structure itself didn't look to be in a good enough state to reassure the firrerreo, but there were hardly any other entrances left this side of the generator. She used the dangerous surroundings to her advantage, sending more than one foe flailing into the abyss below in her unforgiving advance.

Despite their best efforts — and Vrag would readily admit that the Republic was going out with one hell of a fight — there were only so many soldiers left, and with every passing minute the scales tipped further in favor of the assaulting Sith forces. Caught between waves of ambling undead and the thick bulwark of the blast doors, the men and women who had stayed behind had nowhere left to run. The armored Sith finished off a twitching soldier on the floor, giving him the final mercy of a quick death, but when she was about to turn back to the main fight, Vrag spotted something at the edge of her vision. Her eyebrows shot up in morbid curiosity as she approached the severed limb at the edge of the bridge. Her interest piqued, the Sith came closer, narrowing her eyes when something else moved even closer to the ledge...

A blood-curdling scream tore through the air before she could see what it actually was, and Vrag immediately dove back in to find the source, the oddity forgotten. The mystery behind the shriek became obvious the second she neared the last line of defense in front of the blast doors; there, surrounded by a wreath of bodies, stood a woman of unassuming stature yet terrifying presence, clearly a Sith if the state of the killed was anything to go by.

Vrag moved to cover her right flank, mentally reconciling the sundered arm with its owner, engaging a pair of courageous — or perhaps desperate — Republic soldiers as she did so.

"Need a hand?" she shouted to be heard over the din of battle, never losing sight of her two opponents.

Enemies: Bucket heads & the one sith

As I ran through the streets of Manana clinging to the shadows and roofs of small buildings, the power had cut from what seemed like half the city. This gave me an opportunity to place well co-ordinated attacks on the small patrols of four, scouting for new locations to move there troops through.

I kept on the move leaping from one building to the next keeping a close eye on the streets below, with my visor active it helped improve my vision as well as a small map of the area with Corvas and Jame's location on, but for some reason kians location hadn't appeared witch was strange. As I climbed the next building, I walked over to the edge and crouched down to appear less visible from train eyes of the sith and vong, i open up a channel to the group "James you have two patrols of three going towards your position". I pulled myself up been careful not to lose my balance and proceeded towards [member="Corvus Raaf"].

moments later a group of sith soldiers was on the street below, but this group was not like the rest insted of scouting they was looking for something, this mattered not now they had aimed there sights upon a civilian, and I had to take action.

"HEY BUCKET HEADS"

the soldiers took there guns off the civilian and started looking around to find where the voice came from. I leaped down from the building creating a loud thud from landing on top of a soldier.

"oh I do apologize, I didn't see you there"
letting out a small giggle. I ignited one of the lightsaber I found earlier. the moment it had ignited I could feel the force move through the weapon.

the other two soldiers turned around at an instant with there guns pointed at the Jedi.
"Put the weapon down or we will kill you"
the squads leader moved closer towards the me, but I could not see his face, the only features that set him apart from the rest was his right and bulk.

a small grin let out upon my face.
"really if you expect me to drop the saber then you are stupider than what I thought" I placed my left foot forward and griped the saber with both hands.
"well for you incompetence I'm going to show you what happens when you pick on the weaker people"

the solider gripped is gun tighter out of frustration.
"Have it your way little Jedi if you want to die so much I can make that happen"

"oh I really do disagree"
the leader was now close enough to me that if I swung I could disable his gun, but that would leave the other soldier open to shoot me. this ment as soon as the leaders gun was destroyed I had to put him between me and a volley of shots.

I swung at leaders gun creating a fash of sparks, with the momentum I rolled besides him. leaving the other soldier following me with a volley of shots that narrowly missed."you're a little to close for comfort" the soldier I was stood next to shoved me and pulled his knife that Was about 8 inches in length, his attempt to push me to the ground didnt work, only pushing me back a few feet. I then made my second attack swinging at his torso cutting into his stomach. as he fell to the ground the other soldier unleaded his second volly of shots, I role out the way a second time towards him hoping he wouldn't expect the same tactic. his shots follow close behind again till I stood up. "you missed again you shot is awful" he instantly let out a 3rd volley but I had to make this his last using the force I pushed his gun into the air and sprinted towards him, he was distracted by getting his gun under console and this provided the opportunity to Finnish this. I swung the saber one last time aiming for the neck to keep the death painless and quick, after making the swing the body stood still for a moment, till it collapsed to the ground sending the decapitated head rolling across the road.

I walk over the the soldier I landed on earlier to check for a pulse, he was still alive. using the cuffs in his pouch I placed them around his wrists he was not a treat and now will be a prisoner of war. I took his communicator to gain an even bigger advantage, for a second I thought that I would make Master [member="Corvus Raaf"] proud. been new to the jedi I felt like I had to earn there trust so any affection made me feel proud like I belonged somewhere like I belonged to the order. "James I need your help moving a body he's alive" I pulled the body down the nearest alley and crouched down to avoid been seen till [member="James Mathison"] arrived.

Incredibly fast, agile and with near perfect timing, she had truly found a worthy opponent to battle. The Jeedai had managed to avoid the Thud bugs and leapt back out of the range of her strike. The amphistaff snapped at empty air. Khallesh went hot with rage and embarrassment as she landed on the balls of her feet. She bounced off the ground, pumping her legs hard to give chase.

The thought of letting off to reassess the situation never entered the head of the impetuous Yuuzhan Vong's mind. She had dreamt of this moment for months. To finally face one of these warrior in the field, to prove herself and bring glory to Hrosha Gul and domain Val.

As she pulled the staff back a subtle hand signal caused the creature to go flaccid in her grip. As the rushed after her target she let her hand slip down to the tail, extending her reach significantly. The amphistaff was over two metres long, where she had previously gripped the shaft close to half way she now had just the end of the tail wrapped around her hand. Her arm raised up and the swung down and across. The amphistaff snapped down as a whip, this time the head grasping for the padawan's ankles.
