Kendrix
Salt in a Wound
The long space travel took a lot out of Kendrix. She ate like the rest of the beings, but her main source of nourishment was the sun. Not being able to draw from it made her weaker. So to say she left the ship in a hurry would have been an understatement. She didn’t even bother going all the way down the ramp and instead tossed herself and her bag off to one side of it making sure she had a spot right in the rays of the sun. The second it hit her face she drank up its warmth. Kendrix filled her nostrils with air breathing in the smells of the trees and the grass. Then she did what she had done on Mustafar her. She removed her jacket and the shirt she had on over her tanktop. Throwing the jacket onto the ship but leaving the shirt draped over her bag. She tucked her pendant into her tanktop then moved her hands to her belt. She paused. As much as she wanted to expose as much skin to the sun she chose to keep her pants. They might be useful.
Kendrix the squatted next to her bag at the exit of the ship going over the contents of her bag as it sat in the grass. Her master told her everything in it was important. She didn’teven know what half of it was and the contents were heavy for her small frame. The weight of it tempted her to just start taking it all out or leave the bag where she sat it. She looked up at her master to see if he was paying attention and to see if she could get away with it. She watched him with curious eyes as he stared off into the distance. Kendrix noticed the look on his face. The glimmer in his eyes and then went back to her bag ducking her head as a light smile graced her face.
Kendrix threw the bag onto her shoulders making sure she was balanced right before beginning to walk. Her hand went to her arm with the vine tattoo and rubbed her forearm. She was starting to feel warm again. Her skin gaining a green tint from the photosynthesis.
She rolled her eyes as her master gave orders. She knew this wasn’t directed solely at her, but she personally didn’t plan to provoke anything. She believed he liked to hear himself talk since he did it a lot. The cool breeze added to the sensation she was getting making her feel even more giddy. She heard him shout move out, and she couldn’t help. Her body shook with excitement before she took off in a sprint to the trees. The bag on her back being more of an encumbrance than help, so she tumbled to the ground letting the bag fall off her shoulders as she rolled through the grass. Her body hit the ground with a thud when she finally stopped and laid in the grass. Her red hair going over her eyes as it kept going even after she stopped. She smiled and snickered. This world reminding her so much of her homeworld. The thought of her father teasing her mind. In an instant, the smile left her as she laid motionlessly in the grass.
