[Interest Check] Galactic Games - Inter-Faction Sports Competition

Dunames Lopez

Fencing should have three (or four, if NFUs have their own) divisions: apprentice, knight and master-level, with the possibility of NFU competitiors. That one will be one of the crowd favorites.

If some athletically-challenged major faction is willing to do with either a weightlifter or a grenade (or discus/hammer) thrower (she's a NFU if it counts), I'm open to have Jessica join one faction based on that (even if it became largely secondary to Jessica post-Games) and represent it in the Games.

Much like the way real-world athletes can compete for countries other than their countries of origin if they have dual citizenship or wait sufficiently long.

No Sith factions after what she did on Kuat (albeit as a NPC at the time)...

EDIT: Jessica will be competing as a Zenithian Imperium athlete...

We at the First Order have a slightly different view on things. The Games should showcase the best athletes from the faction. Otherwise bringing glory to the First Order is impossible. No mercenary athletes!

You could always y'know... join us though... [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

On the one hand you claimed it was my sport, grenade throwing, that caused my participation as an athlete to be jeopardized. Grenade throwing, conceptually, is like a discus or hammer throw but with grenades whose filling is replaced by the same weight in inert materials.

Here you say that this event is restricted to the First Order? The FO just can't send Kathol, Mandalorian athletes home under the pretext that the Games would be about bringing glory to the First Order. It wouldn't be the Galactic Games anymore if it wasn't open to more than one major faction...

I don't think he's saying you can't compete as a rep of another faction, but that the First Order will not be showcasing athletes for themselves who are not members of the faction?

Talk to me ;) we don't have a PC Ministry of Culture, just an NPC which I'm doing, so feel free to reach out for whatever.
I know you and my son, [member="Arkaitz Zambrano"], we're doing a thread but with Josh's departure because of Law School do you wanna do a thread with me instead? :p

No, no. The event is open to all factions. Your original post sounded like you were looking to hire out your services to another major faction. Whether they accept you or not is up to them. But at least for the First Order, we're only allowing characters to compete under our name who are actually members of our faction.

I would like to compete for the One Sith in track and field (javelins, sprints, running, shot put, etc.)

As long as I get to unleash my primal fury, I'll do any sport :)
