Interested in finding a faction to fleet w/

Hello everyone!

So here's my dilemma: i've fleeted on other boards and had loads of fun with it. At times it can be a bit overbearing simply because if you're fleeting against/with 10-20 other writers it can get a bit hectic at times and full of........ Chaos but honestly that's what I love about it. The Macro/Micro game of fleeting is a really fun thing so i'm looking for a faction to possibly start fleeting with that I can really help to make a difference.

My dilemma is this, not only with the Incursion currently happening most factions are all focused on that but also I know a lot of major factions may not be looking for fleeters at this point - and if they are it will take quite a while to get past the point where i'm allowed more than a single frigate you know? I'm not whining about that fact, if i was a major faction I wouldn't just hand over a sizeable chunk of my fleet to a new-comer it's to be expected.

I'm looking at creating a new character that is of Noble Birth (to whichever faction I may choose or may choose me) and is an Admiral arche-type character with a fair amount of oversight. Any suggestions or possible factions that are looking for this type of fleeter?

A little about my experience:

Fleeted in a Star Wars board that was legitimately 100% fleeting for 3+ years.
Ran my own faction on this other board - so not only built my fleet entirely myself but also maintained it.
I've had experience of fighting up to 3 other fleeters (whom i consider quite elite at it) at the same time.
About 1 years experience fleeting along side other writers in the same faction
Helped to Moderate an Entire war between the (Hutt Empire which was mine) and Mandalorian Empire.
I've lost as many as i've won so I have experience in both aspects.
Also created several of my own designed ships for fleeting purposes.

I invite you to come check out the Iron Empire.

Recently, we have focused considerably on expanding our navy, by introducing a plethora of vessels for our writers to use.

You're right that most Major Faction's won't hand over a giant fleet immediately. The Iron Empire is no different in that regards.

However, we do allow new members to start out with a small-ish fleet, with opportunities for promotion by being active, and contributing to the faction.

I won't say we're all amazing fleeters, but we're all trying to learn together, and have fun doing it.

The First Order is probably one of the mainstays of Chaos Fleeting. Not only do we have a wide variety of ships, each with their own purpose, but we also boast a number of fleeting veterans. As far as opportunity, our rank structure allows us a great amount of flexibility to new writers to the faction!

The Galactic Empire is in need of more decent fleeters to help write the Imperial Starfleet. We have a multitude of powerful warships and even one of the only flagships on the board, a super star destroyer, in our grasps.

Unlike other factions that attempt to attribute military ranks to trivial things like 'FU tiers', the Empire's ranking structure is open for everyone to request what rank they like at the start at my or my faction admins' behest.

There's also the Metal Lords, we're a rather unorthodox faction when compared to other powers around Chaos, at our core we're a loosely governed association of droids and cyborgs arranged in a feudal system alongside the population of planets, acting in a way as city-states, who formed pacts of cooperation and allegiance with us. All our active member so far are capable or have some sort of experience with fleeting, this is a reflection of the fact that we value navy, as we started off first as a nomadic faction of kingdom-fleets ruled by Metal Lords, and an NPC portion of our faction still follows that tradition. We're also commerce and merchant fleet focused due to the presence of multiple major trade hyperlanes going through our territory.

So joining us you would be able to make a choice between being a starting Metal Lord, or an admiral from one of the planets in our territory who have capacity for, and are allowed to, maintaining their own planetary fleet, for example Denon. As you can imagine both positions have their own sets of advantages and disadvantages, but you would actually be able to start with ships bigger than frigates if you would like, the problem comes that instead of attaining them from a ranking system you would be expected to either have a company that would make them for you, or exercise your political and mercantile savvy by making a deal with one of the Metal Lords or another company to provide you with ship, or have your planet do that for you.


So if you would like to mix political intrigue, inner conflicts, merchant fleets, and being part of or trying to deal with a machine oriented feudal society into your fleeting experience, Metal Lords are probably a good place for you! OOCly we value freedom of choice and will never tell you that you can't do a storyline with us, but we'll expect you to be able to deal with IC consequences of it, should it blow in your face

Among all these considerations, there's also the character proper to consider: what motivates your character to fleet?

If your character is more of a good-guy fleeter, you may want to consider the Galactic Alliance (disclaimer: I'm using this character in GA naval service), Free World Coalition or Silver Jedi (disclaimer: I have another character in that faction that I sometimes use for fleeting).

Metal Lords, Outer Rim Coalition and CSA are for characters with a more neutral outlook, and possibly the CIS; if your character is comfortable around Sith, perhaps the Sith Empire is worth checking out.

As a nomadic nation, fleeting is an integral part of the Shrouded Republic. We could use more fleeting-oriented characters, especially high-ranking ones for our navy (in desperate need of an admiral).
