“Fear not!” Asmus declared as he approached the group. He was busy leaving his ship to the mechanical staff. He wasn’t like Choli, there was still a streak of the workshy nature he had developed for boring jobs. There were people paid to maintain his ship, why should he do their work?

“I am coming too, to keep everyone entertained on the squadron channel – Choli, you might need to click off every now and again. We can’t have such innocent ears on the channel when discussing Tela’s antics whilst we were anchored off Fondor!”

Clearly the young man thought he was being amusing, but the others might notice just a hint of his mannerisms being forced. He’d woken up on the right side of the bunk this morning. No interruptions to his sleep, no thoughts of monsters dragging him underneath the surface whilst Coruscant gang members cheered for his escape or death.

“Command said if we’re doing a Diamond Sweep or a Comb?” Asmus asked, referring to two common manoeuvres where the squadron would make a single formation and sweep back and forth or split into small groups follow straight paths down different vectors.

Running, running as fast as their her little feet could carry them, several young children were sprinting across the sub Saharan fields, running as far away from the nearby village as fast as they could.. Blaster shots, screams and cries could be heard echoing throughout the nearby area. Her family instructed her to run and don't stop no matter what until she got help. Despite the best intentions, sending a little girl out to the fields with no one to look after her wasn't probably the best idea, however to some it was better than being a slave again, or newly placed into slavery. And they did just that, they kept on running, and they hoped that help would reach them in time or vice versa.

**********

Several Speeder bikes came to a slow halt just at the outskirts of what used to a village full of life. The Jedi removed the visor that covered his eyes as he took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Kahne's eyes scanned the the whole village from where he was and just glanced down for a moment as he shook his head before looking back up and drawing on another breath as he swung his leg from one side of the speeder bike. There were a few Jedi that were with him as they disembarked as well. Kahne glanced towards them and jerked his head towards the village.

"Search the area, look for survivors, and see if anything leads us to the Warlord Kazan." Kahne moved the small cloth mask that he held over his mouth as he moved towards the village front, as his fellow Jedi looked around searching for anyone.

The Jedi glanced around as there was a body of a young kid, probably early teens...lifeless. "We were too slow...." Kahne whispered to himself as the breeze seemed to catch his words and took them around for a spin. Slavery and death seemed common here, they would put a stop to it. Thus a fellow Jedi ran up to him.

"Kahne, we got something!"

"Good." The Jedi murmured as he followed them to the point of interest...

Between his involvement in Operation Blackout, on Coruscant, and his business trips on Naboo, Tatooine and Elrood, Ugohr knew it would only be a matter of time before his Army of Malastare, filled with new recruits, would be deployed again. Among these new recruits are a few Jawas but also a few Dugs and, of course, Grans. And humans, too. Gungans served on other units by now, but at least the Alliance acknowledged that clearance of mines still deserved its own unit, despite the debacle on Coruscant that forced rioters to walk through a minefield, killing thousands in the wake. A preliminary scan of the planet indicated that the main approaches to Abomey were mined. Two highways, six-lane-wide, one on its east-west axis and the other on its north-south axis. He took care to assign a roughly even number of specialists to each of the two groups: one would be assigned to the east-west axis and the other would take the north-south axis.

"Odd-numbered companies, go with da Jawa tank unit to da east, even-numbered companies, go with mesa to da north"

"General, any intelligence about the enemy resistance we are expected to encounter?" a Jawa line infantryman asked.

"Utinni! We are deployed to clear the approaches to the capital of mines: unlike Coruscant we shouldn't expect entire corps coming at us to engage our army head-on" the Jawa tank XO responded.

"Da Alliance High Command have very few sappers otherwise capable of clearing mines: theysa say dat oursa main enemies maken sparse usage of minefields. Theysa make a grave mistake. Yousa have yoursa orders: move out!"

Sappers are mostly tasked with other aspects of combat engineering: digging trenches, building prefabricated bases and prefabricated bridges being the main duties of sappers. But as the battalion-sized groups make their approach towards the capital's main approaches, they don't even suspect that some opposition is lurking somewhere, lying in wait underneath them, either beneath or on an overpass. Ugohr expected the main highways to be mined, and the city's spaceport is also to be secured, if it isn't already.

Alleycat had been quietly prepping her T-70 for Rogue Squadron's upcoming scouting mission of the Kinyen system as the other Rogues started to roll in. The brandy-eyed brunette gave a nod to those passing by as she leaned over her port-side closed strike foil working on the alignment of the dorsal laser canon. Russo was OCD about such things, but only because it was really important to shoot straight!

"Haven't heard what the mission parameters are as of yet… Probably on a need to know basis, and you know us pilots are last on that long list," Eleven quipped back to Nine with a chuckle after [member="Asmus Janes"] asked the question of what formation they were supposed to use.

"Hey Lynton!" Choli gave a brief smile in greeting to the fellow Rogue, one that followed to land on the new arrival. "Holst!" a small nod of greeting matched her smile. While the young pilot knew their names and were fellow squadmates, honestly, she didn't know much about them. She was hoping to change that as the weeks passed to they could build a camaraderie.

A snort and a chuckle came along with the mention of being sore. "Depends on who you ask." she added; while she had not been present at the battle for Coruscant, she knew well that those from Rogue that did had experienced some hairraising situations. She was deathly curious, but she didn't want to pry. It wasn't her place to.

Asmus took his cue to step in there, being the rambunctious social butterfly that he was. Choli didn't know much about him either, other than he spent his time going from bunk to bunk with the joviality of a Cafarel socialite. She didn't quite understand it, but hey, it didn't seem to cause any issues. Janes had a rather perky personality that brightened any place, she could understand why others enjoyed his company.

"Yeah yeah..." she shook her head. After a moment, she piped up, "I take it we all got the short end of the stick?" she asked, bringing up a panel to snap it back into place. A few lucky ones from Rogue squadron were able to enjoy the festival.

That's when Allycat came in. Her smile broadened at the appearance of Rogue Eleven.

"You coming with Allycat?" truth be told, she held a measure of fangirling over the seasoned pilot.

"Master Imperieuse." Isha said in greeting, giving a small dip of her head in respect. Her ears gave a slight twitch. They were as much a part of her emotional state of mind as well as independently acting on their own.

"Look forward to, no." she shook her head, contemplative. At over two hundred years, the yodaling did not enjoy having to deal on the front lines with any sort of fighting. Her passion lay elsewhere. However, she knew that they were here to help the people of Dahomey.

"We do what a Jedi must." she said plainly, those large lavender eyes peering up at Lilin.

"What of your thoughts, Master?"

Alleycat made one last adjustment on the top laser canon, then let herself down off the port stabilizer with well-practiced ease forgoing the service ladder. The long-legged brunette's booted feet made a soft thud on the hangar decking, then she ducked under the wing and walked over to where the other Rogue's were gathering; wiping her dirty hands off on a work rag as she did.

"Well I planned on it, Seven, because Force knows someone's gotta keep you all on the straight and narrow," Alex smiled at [member="Choli Vyn"], the young mechanically-inclined Jedi pilot whom she had become fond of, then the brandy-eyed Taanabian smirked with a chuckle. "...Course that would be no fun so lets make this a good one, hmm," she nodded to the others finishing with a lop-sided grin.

Russo had been lucky. At Coruscant she'd been able to stay in the dogfight over the One Sith's capital city the whole battle. Some of the others hadn't been so fortunate and had suffered after crash landing and having to fight their way back through the undercity. Many were still wearing their badges of honor so to speak as injuries were still visible on a few, and some weren't; well hidden beneath their tough pilot facade. She'd been there, done that before during her long years of flying, and still doing it. Alleycat was well into her third life. Good thing she had nine lives hmm?

Tempest nodded approvingly. “We don’t need saving and civilising. We just need the tools everyone else takes for granted. The Jedi love to be the great friends and benefactors of all, but for an order which claims not to want material possessions they sure have enough of them. If actually believed they wanted to live a life helping people I’d be happier, but they blow in and blow out like the monsoon. It’s all storm and noise, and we’re left afterwards to pick up the pieces.”

“We’ll take good care of Adril and Livia. When they’re old enough I’m sure Sio will tell them the truth about her mother. However painful that is.”

Tempest smiled and gave Elpsis a quick kiss before putting her helmet on and standing by as they came in the land.
As the dropships landed they were the very model of military efficiency. Troops poured out and took cover from all locations…but there was no enemy. The old Firemane compound was thoroughly looted but abandoned.

Tempest gave the all-clear signal and looked to Elpsis. “I wasn’t expecting any opposition, but it pays to be careful.”

Ugohr made his approach with his group into the capital, not suspecting what ambush lies in wait for them alongside the main north-south thoroughfare of Abomey. With the Army of Malastare having replaced its tank losses, and repaired the surviving tanks, Ugohr had more confidence that he will actually clear the mines around the capital than he did about clearing the mines in the Financial District on Coruscant. But what Ugohr knows is that enemies expecting some mine clearance operations know that it is slow and that any mine clearance unit is basically a sitting duck while the minefield is being cleared. The main thoroughfare is three lanes wide each direction, but Ugohr saw fit to use both directions at once because the mines were laid in both directions: to prevent the enemy warlords from using the main roads to enter the city. The other streets were too narrow for that, and the outer defenses of the city were dotted with dozens of emplacements of all kinds, anti-tank, anti-infantry depending on the width of the street, with little anti-aircraft defenses. Which meant that the Jawa's group had to take the long, winding way to enter the city on the east-west axis while Ugohr was already closing in on the city limits.

"Forward, boyos! Stay alert: wesa expect da enemy to surround usen. Paste any hostile, form square"

"Tanks in one direction, line infantry forming the rest, and specialists in the center, we know the drill"

"Mines detected, we will be slowed to a crawl" another tank commander warned Ugohr.

While Ugohr's group took up positions on the highway, grenadiers spotted some pillbox emplacements and opened fire from long range. Meanwhile, Ugohr didn't feel as if the enemy was stationed on the upper levels of the buildings lining up the highway, itself lined up with a noise protection wall, so he focused on the anti-tank emplacements positioned at the closest highway exit. Heck, the whole overpass was lined with anti-infantry guns, with an anti-tank gun in the center, which opened fire on Ugohr's tanks, thinking that they could actually damage the tanks. But the first shot fired hit the noise protection wall near the side of the tank line rather than the tank itself. But before Ugohr could get out and remove the noise protection wall shards from the outermost tank hit by those...

"Paste da overpass! Itsa crawlin with defensive guns!"

So the Firemane soldiers poured out of their transports, setting up perimeter security. Mobile durasteel barricades were rolled out to secure cover for the landing troops, e-webs and rotary shattercannons were manned behind. Further dropships would land light walkers and APCs in order to increase the mobility of the troops and provide some heavier firepower as they pushed forward. It was all the model of military efficiency, but there was no enemy to fight, so far. Gunshots and explosions could be heard in the distance, coming from somewhere inside the city, but the noise was still faint.

Elpsis gave Tempest a nod. "Yeah. Keep your eyes open. It's hard to explain, but the Force feels...disturbed here," she muttered, loading a magazine of APEB rounds into her Mark One Bolter. So they advanced across the premise, ever mindful of snipers or land mines.

Even the defence turrets had been stripped. Couple skeletons lay on the ground. A lot of dust had accumulated inside the compound when she cautiously stepped inside, giving a hand signal to one of the Firemane soldiers with her.

Both of them began to search and clear every room as they made their way into the building. Suddenly there was loud noise. Elpsis spun as a very big, aggressive looking feline charged towards them. The Cylix had a reddish pelt, was almost two metres long and razor-sharp teeth that looked capable of biting a human's hand off. Elpsis was suddenly thrust down when the magnificient beast charged at her. Ouch. She rolled across the dust-covered ground.

Her companion raised her gun, but in the same moment Elpsis sent a wave of soothing, calmning energy to the majestic beast to try and halt its advance as she stretched out with her empathy. The feline opened its large mouth full of teeth, some of which still had pieces of flesh clinging to it, and growled, seemingly ready to sink them into her....then seemed to calm. "Woah, it's ok. He's not gonna bite," Elpsis announced to her evidently still uneasy companion. She reached out with her hand and gently stroked the great beast's majestic mane.

Dahomey - capital
Arceneau Trade Company

The capital of Dahomey was one of the few areas that had seen less activity from the would be warlords taking advantage of the situation. Didn't mean that it was completely safe. Arceaneau Trade certainly had resources and venues to provide relief, but it wasn't the Eve Foundation. It was a business. That being said, that did not mean that there wouldn't be some measure of fortification for the benefit of not only the city, but to ensure the safety of the warehouses and the space ports.

While the desire to grow in bios bee was there, there was no need to while the potential of imminent danger lurked. Saffron had an appointment to focused mining at a later time, but for the present she would go over what their security plan to increase their defenses would be.

"We have Hehemonic Automon security light walkers we can place here, here and here." The trio stood over a holographic map of the city and spaceport. This also included Arceneau Trade warehouses. Additional guards from Darkwater as well as other hired PMC's would provide extra reinforcements.

"Security details here. Along with drone scouts just to be on the safe side for patrols."

As Ashira would have it, Charlyra found herself en route to an old and abandoned outpost, code name Torch. It'd been one long arse ride from Morellia to Dahomey. Honestly she slept most of the way, and at least this time she got a real transport out. Instead of riding the chit jumper around the Silver's territory. Word was they were here to help the Alliance, but more importantly, they were here to help her master, Tempest. Charlyra didn't even know what she rubbed sleep from her eyes as the transport came into orbit of Dahomey.

Tempest's home, and well if it was Tempest's home then Charlyra was gonna help defend it or whatever it was they needed to do here. She turned in her bed on the transport, as it came through the atmosphere. The pilot did her best to try and avoid turbulence but it isn't always possible and as such, Charlrya came rolling off her bunk. "Bloody Bantha!" She cursed wildly landing right on her arse. "Maker's breath woman!" She shouted into the comms, "what was that?"

"Turbulence, we're compensating, though, my apologies."

"No, it's fine, but, wait - this is a Firemane transport..." She was confused, "how?"

"We're Firemane yes, but that does not make us immune to the wind, or Dahomey's atmosphere."

Charlyra just shook her head, "right then, I'm takin' a shower." She slipped into the transport cabin's sonic shower, stripping out of her robes quickly, it took her about five minutes to get clean and then she was out throwing on a fresh set of robes. Looking at her hair she sighed. "Well at least I don't smell like Kessel anymore." She said to herself, as she brushed her hair out, "no I was down on bloody Morellia, with farmers. Kark."

And she still hadn't quite gotten through that she had a sister, Myrrashai Araano. Who was both a little creepy and very intense, Charlyra had to deal with that and about three other things happening on Morellia. Her sister had informed her of a lot of very interesting stories, regarding their family history. And to be honest, Charlyra was still processing all of it, so much so she just threw it all into the back of her mind and focused on the family that she did know. Tempest, Elpsis and the rest of the ladies at Firemane. This was why she came out here, she came to help them.

"We're docking at Torch now, your worship."

"Thanks, and please just Lyra or something."

"Right then, Lyra."

Comms were off again, and Charlyra realized she'd been brushing the same part of her hair for at least three minutes straight now. Sighing she quickly went through the other part of her hair with the brush, then grabbing a crimson ribbon she tied her hair back and threw her hood over it. Checking herself over in the small mirror she stepped out of her cabin and headed for the airlock. The airlock opened, and Charlyra descended down to the faded and chipped paint of the former outpost, and headed straight for the doors that would lead inside.

Either everyone knew who she was or she was expected and by the looks of people whispering, it would be the former. Soliders from Firemane dotted around the perimeter, she could see barricades being put in place. Her Master seemed to be getting ready to fend off a contingency of Wookiees. Shattercannons, more dropships, and APCs... "By the Goddess." She murmured under her breath as she stopped to take it all in.

It seemed that Charlyra's transport had landed behind some of the soldiers, looking around the abandoned compound she did feel just a little uneasy. Feth this is Kessel all over again, only at least this time there looked to be more firepower. Since she was standing there, Charlyra decided to focus her energies on finding her Master. Filtering through the force like going through proper strings until she found the one that belonged to Tempest. "There you are." She smirked, and began her trek to try and catch up to her Master, and Elpsis? Charlyra shrugged not like those two would be too far from each other anyway.

Kyber sighed quietly to himself as he made his way through the Alliance ship. Kyber already checked his equipment three times, so there was really nothing for him to do. Wandering through the various corridors and hangars Kyber happened upon a small observation deck. He noticed two others that had taken refuge within the room- Jedi's by the looks of them. He wondered if Aela was on this mission as well.

With sheer boredom driving him, Kyber approached the two quietly and nodded to them both in a sort of greeting, giving a thin smile- even though it wasn't visible to the two strangers through his armored helmet. As Kyber clasped his hands behind his back he looked towards the viewport and continued his greeting verbally "A Jedi team on this simple mission? I didn't think that we were going to face that much opposition, but I welcome the additional support." Kyber then shifted himself to fully face the two before finishing with; "Second Lieutenant Kyber Salurra, Rifle Specialist. I hope to be of use to you two on the battlefield."

The noise had made Tempest come running. As she did she drew, ironically, a Cylix bolt pistol and aimed it at the animal. However, it seemed like Elpsis’ empathic skills had come to the fore and tamed the beast. She seemed a chip off the old block of her mother; Tempest remembered the stories of Coryth riding around Gehenna on a tamped reek.

Holstering her pistol she approached Elpsis. She was pretty safe in her Beskar armour, and she was confident she could stop the beast if it decided to munch on her girlfriend.
“You’re not going to keep him, are you?” Tempest asked gingerly. They already had a Yazgid back home, a Cylix would be too much!

Suddenly a wild birb appears!

Tempest held up her hand to caution Lyra to stay back. “And there you are! I was trying to contact you, but they said you were on Kessel, then Morellia, then in transit. Still, glad you’re here.”
She gave her padawan a fond smile.

Charlyra stood there, looked at Master Tempest then Elpsis, then the thing - wasn't like she kept a little device that told her what every creature in existence was or did on her person. Then she looked back to Elpsis and back to her Master Tempest. Jerking her thumb back at the incoming mobile army behind her. "There seems to be a Firemane Army behind me, not entirely sure if you've noticed," pursuing her lips together she used that same hand to gesture toward her Master. "Are we expecting a contingency force of Wookiees by chance?" A small shrug as she pushed her lips out just, "just wasn't entirely, sure. There's a uh, there's a uh."

She motioned in a circular motion with said hand toward whatever that was by Elpsis. "I'm sorry, I just, so there was Kessel and dark cultists, rabid disease and then there was Morellia with farmers, damotite and my crazy arsed sister." She was rambling, everything was sort of strung together. "Did, did you know that I had a sister? Some sorta renegade Jedi Shadow apparently, there's." Charlyra turned her shoulder a bit toward the landing pads, "there's an army there I'm, are you sure that you're not expecting a contingency of Wookiees? Rancor? Gamorreans?"

"No?" She nodded, "okay then."

Clearing her throat, "so I just, I just thought I'd swing by." A little bit more words, perhaps too much words, "just was I, detoured here to help you two, but you, you look like you've got it all. What... what is that, that um... is that a cat? Is it also coming home to Tygara?"

"I was um, I was in the neighborhood." Was her final, final establishment as to why she was here because here she was on the other side of the galaxy because she just happened to be in the neighborhood. Turning her attention to Elpsis she put her hands together and let them rest in front of her as if she'd been this tired instructor at the Academy. "Hi Elpsis." She greeted with some bit of cheer, because as it stood now her mind was rambling through about thirty things a second and was having one feth of a time dealing with it all. "How are you? Been well? You look lovely, you do, absolutely lovely." There might've been a bit of a nervous twitch of her brow there.

"Estimated." Veronika replied, a faint rubbing of her cheek against his a small display of affection. Tactile methods of comfort and affection were important to the Lovalla. All the more for the pair after missing their Red Day. Their bonds were typically reaffirmed during those quarterly surges, but their relationship was not solely subject to those hormonal shifts. The difference with Lovalla that few realize is that it takes time to properly find a compatible mate. For the species that mated for life, this meant that the courtship and the growing empathic bonds were forged through that initial time. Their color shifting provided the first real glimpse at communicating their interest as much as close personal contact.

"I have done the calculations myself and I am certain that this will bloom come late evening." That would give them time if Iestyn desired to explore other options. Regardless, Veronika was quite pleased, a bloom of vibrant pink over her base skin color with the flare of her mottled spots indicating her anticipation and joy.

"It is," she agreed, the small shift of her cheek sending a few strands of her hair to tickle his ear. A kiss was pressed to his cheek. The vacation would certainly benefit them. Although their presence was already prompting a few lingering looks. Being a rare species, much the less a paired Lovalla was a sight to see. While their colors were still a little bit muted, they were a curious curio with the color shifting. Not to mention, the growing public displays of affection.

"Hungry?" She asked, curious if he would want to wander the festival for a bit.

"Very wise of you to say that," Lilin commented on the Padawan's thoughts on going to the mission. She loved when Padawans had learned a lot and they knew a lot about life and the way of the Jedi.

"Sometimes Jedi have to do things they don't necessarily want to do. Killing people is one of them. If I could, I would never harm a single animal, not even talking about sentient beings. But there is no such option. I may try to have mercy on them, but at times, it's not possible due to the horrors they've committed."

She sighed.

"I don't look forward to fighting people. I look forward to defending the innocent. And that is the little sunshine you have to find when you are a Jedi. Giving up so much of your life and having to do things you hate can be tedious, but when you find that piece of sunshine, everything turns a lot better."

Then a man, some kind of a soldier or so, appeared.

"Master Imperieuse," Lilin introduced herself to the man, keeping a friendly tone. She was not one of those emotionless Masters people sometimes had to deal with. "The Jedi were asked to provide support, yes. I hope for good cooperation and teamwork on the mission, Lieutenant Salurra."

She would then let the Padawan introduce herself while she herself would think about what rank the Second Lieutenant was. She had memorised all army and navy ranks, but she didn't know whom they were exactly on the same level with. She could suppose a Second Lieutenant was more similar to a Knight than a Padawan or a Master, but she wasn't completely sure.

Whatever the ranks, great work on the mission was the only thing that would matter to her.

Tempest was so sweet and drew a cannon to protect her girlfriend. Ironically, it was named after the big predator. However, Elpsis was already enthusiastically bonding with the magnificient beast and stroking the Cylix' mane. For the time being, the big cat did not seem to mind the attention. Maybe he had concluded the redhead could lead him to a better meal.

"Why not? He's so cute," Elpsis gushed happily. "And we can feed him quantum tunnelling Sith, should any pop up." Assuming Lacey did not eat them first. Then a wild birb showed up. Elpsis had been a bit distracted by her new feline friend.

"Hi, Lyra," she waved at her cheerfully. "Wait, slow down? Your sister's a crazy Shadow? Geez, I'm sorry. They're creepy. No Wookiees here last I checked. Just a warlord or two, wild animals and sanctimonious Jedi. Tempest told me to be nice to the Jedi," she made a face, as if this was a particularly arduous demand.

"This is a Cylix. Still need a name for him. He's real sweet, isn't he?" Elpsis was still a teenager and it showed. She grinned broadly when Lyra called her lovely. "Oh, thanks. You totally are, too. Did you...get any sleep from smelly spice planet to Morellia and Morellia to here? Eat anything? Tempest...let's not give her any caffeine." She sounded just a bit concerned about the wild birb, who ironically was about a decade older than her.

Meanwhile, the Cylix' attitude seemed to suddenly shift. Seeing Lyra and more Firemane soldiers approach, he bared his mighty teeth and roared loudly. It was an almost ear-screaming sound. "Easy, big guy. No one's gonna hurt you. I'll get you some nice meat," Elpsis said soothingly.

However, the seemingly enraged animal was not so easily pacified and tried to bite her before slashing at her chest. His mighty claws cut across but did not penetrate her duraplast armour, though there'd be a nasty bruise. Easy. I'm here. Who's hurting you? The beast growled once more, as Elpsis gently tapped into his mind. His teeth seemed ready to bite her hand off when she reached out, then he licked it. "I think someone's mucking with his mind - and he's probably not the only animal," she said at last, taking a breath. Even the ground suddenly looked tainted to her. "All nature here is out of sync. It's something dark."

Enter [member="Asmus Janes"] and [member="Alexandra Russo"]. Owen gave them both a index-finger-to-temple-to-point salute as his way of saying hello. The man snickered at Choli’s remark. It sure did depend on who you asked about soreness, he couldn’t imagine that he had it any worse than Lucky had it. Unlike him, she had actually crashed and broken a bone or two. It was a good thing he was around when he was, of that he was fairly certain.

“I don’t know about straight and narrow.” Owen chuckled at Russo. “I felt pretty winded and crooked when I came back from Coruscant.”

He let the moment pass, waited for the right moment before...

“Do you think they’ll throw us another gala for that one?”

Devyn didn't know all these people really well. He'd managed to remember the names and codenames for all of the members of the Rogue Squadron, but nothing more. He'd not really talked to them that much, nor had he been to as many missions with them as the other had. He was a relatively new member to the Squadron, having joined after they allowed eighteen pilots into the team instead of just twelve. And it also didn't help that most of the others were older than him.

He tried to listen to the conversation and just go with the flow, maybe commenting on something, maybe not. He had not been on Coruscant due to reasons too difficult to describe, but he sure did know that he would have wanted to have been there.

It had been a dangerous mission from what he'd heard, but if he could have been with his people, that wouldn't have mattered. Now he just had to listen to the conversations other members of the Squadron had and feel the burning feeling of guilt inside for not being there to help out. He would get over it some time, he knew that, but that would take a while.

He leaned his hand on one of the fighters, not bothering to think whose it was, while he listened to the others.
