Carliah Dakrone
Walking the Path to Redemption
Lilythe pulled her cloak tighter around her as she trekked through the snow, Tenebrae following close behind her with a small bundle containing her things tied to his back. She tried not to think about the town she was leaving behind. She was useless to them now. Her near-mortal wound still pained her and she could barely draw her bow because of it. What use was she as the town's law keeper if she couldn't protect them?
Arthur's face flashed across her mind and she almost turned around. He would probably miss her, but he'd get over the loss. She was heading back to the snowy cave she used to live in. It wasn't that far, she could see the frozen expanse of the lake ahead of her. Her old home was on the far side of it. Arthur knew where it was, if he really wanted too he could look for her there. She trudged onward, crossing the lake and clearing away the snow covering the mouth of the cave.
'Are you sure about this?' Tenebrae's voice rang through her mind as she worked to dig a path through the snow. She wanted to ignore him, but she knew the Hirion would continue to pester her if she didn't say something. "Yes I'm sure. They're better off without me," she growled back at him.
