The mandalorians originally wanted to fight for the planet, however we could not allow this due to the RP set up by the writers from Alderaan. They don't want to not invade so this was the next best thing since we also didn't want to break the ceasefire and step all over the Alderaan writers current story with an invasion that in all likelihood would wreck the planet again. So this just works for everyone unless the mandos want to call it off, which I don't see happening.

It was discussed. At length. We are doing a political invasion with a blockading fleet in play.

IC, members of the Republic agreed to allow member worlds to leave the Republic.

IC, Clan Vereen and friends have been invited to Alderaan to help them escape the Republic.

IC, the invasion is, primarily, about the diplomacy issue of trying to convince the Alderaan nobility to stay within the Republic.


OOC, whatever the hell happens to the map is up to the admins.

Why the focus on the cloud break?

Cloud breaks have to be voted on by the board admins now.

Meaning that at least 4 admins have to agree for it to pass and even then Tef could veto.

Stop worrying about cloud breaks.

The whole 'invasion' is all up to what the Princess decides to do. So it's up to who can convince her/bribe her more. There was never any military threat against Alderaan from the Republic. The Mandos were just being overly cautious

Alderaan wishes to secede, is what I understand. If the Republic is willing to allow Alderaan to join the Mandalorians (which apparently is being stated?) then an invasion must occur. Factions don't trade planets, invasions happen. Even if the invasion is literally a political discussion over how it all goes down, it is still an invasion thread. The Techno Union has done one such invasion before, it isn't anything new.
