In that case, I'd like a side of "smack your face with the buttstock" of my bolter and an order of "cuff and tag you" right into an Alliance cell block please.

I might even toss in an extra full body slam as the cherry on top. <3

Lol. Nah I tease, this should be fun.

[member="Bryce Bantam"] yeah non specific, with a landing that size they can be anywhere across the underside of the ship moving up, so literally anywhere for you guys to mess with.

[member="Aeron Kreelan"] :D all good story outcomes.
I'll take 2 slams and a buttstock to go

In your previous post, you didn't specify that your soldiers tampered with the controls actual hardware to lock out the bridge. I assumed it was done via a software solution. One which the Sith could overcome, as it was their own ship. I also read the sub for your pioneers, It doesn't read like they would have the knowledge to hack an enemy system through hardware, or software means. They seem to serve more of a logistical support role, through digging trenches, removing moves, transporting ammo, etc. but whatever.

I definitely get the feeling that this is headed towards a phallus waving contest, about who can take the least damage. Let's not go that route. I think the story of the good guys being trapped on an enemy ship. With, for lack of a better term, a dungeon master throwing up obstacles, and hazards, while an enemy bears down on them, is a much better story than "NOPE, not gonna take damage and go right for the objective." I would suggest having the hangar begin to vent, while your soldiers, under the threat of imminent death, hot wire the controls to close the door. It's much more exciting than "nope, not happening."

But that's just me.

[member="Reinhard Baelor"] no every control has switch live, as do all contact switches otherwise they don't work.
It basic electronics, from light switches to how boiler a boiler knows when to fire up.
in the uk switch live is the yellow wire

This bit is my rl job, well use to be before got paid more, not have to fix electronic on boilers.

Also pm is better, than putting your issues in, rather than the public forum.

I have no issue with people discussion the IC of the invasion in the OOC chat. Who's to say that Star Wars uses electrical current through conventional wires as a means of sending signals and power? :D

Let's just keep moving on with the story and let's not forget the new rules. NPCs are great as background noise and story. They can be used intelligently to achieve goals, but the amount of people on the site with an interest in actually counting troops and measuring the numbers that have died is probably less than ten. On a site with thousands. At the end of the invasion the FAs will probably convene and look at who has the edge in story. If they can't decide it will go to RPJ.

As always there's a middle ground and compromise.

  • On one hand people should take sensible hits and enjoy fleshing out the story.
  • On the other hand there's a limit to the amount a group of PCs is going to be willing to take from a single DM trying to stop them.

The following will not be considered when judging an Invasion.
  • Person vs Person Duels. The amount of duels won or lost in an Invasion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
  • Objectives. The amount of objectives won or lost in an Invasion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
  • Non-Player Characters. The actions of NPCs involved from either side in an Invasion does not contribute to either faction’s victory.
The following will be considered when judging an Invasion.

  • Teamwork. The amount of teamwork each faction exhibits over the course of the Invasion will contribute to victory, including its organization, cooperation with the faction's members, and how it executes its vision for the Invasion. This also includes members from opposing factions working with each other, rather than against each other, to provide entertaining role-play.
  • Story. Does it make sense? How exciting is it? Are the factions trying to weave a purposeful story or put up points on a scoreboard? This should not include the reason for the Invasion, but rather the story that proceeds once the Invasion has begun.
  • OOC Drama. Negative drama instigated by either side, publicly, can negatively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Invasion.
  • Entertainment. The value of entertainment provided by Factions in an Invasion can positively impact a Faction’s chances for victory in an Invasion.
  • Effort. The amount of effort put into the Invasion by each faction participating will positively impact that faction's chances for victory. This includes, but is not limited to - active writers participating, quality of writing, and responding to your writing partners in a reasonable time.

Obviously I'm heading for Erebos' trap now:

Darth Erebos said:
Standing on the Bridge of the Hungering Mynock, Darth Erebos observed the ongoing battle through the force. He found it interesting from the perch he stood on and how he looked at the battle that it all seemed like a bunch of ants scrambling around to try and kill each other. With a slight sigh he moved to walk out of the bridge but as one of the ensigns shouted that they had boarders entering the main hangar. "Close the blast doors leading into the hangar and Open it to vacuum!" Erebos shouted at the ensign much to the annoyance of it's captain but as the ensign began the procedure he looked up. "S-sir they've managed to lock off that option." With a clenched fist Erebos opened it which caused something akin to a sonic boom to emanate from his hand as he let out a force echo. The crew was visibly frightened of the sith lord but the ability was meant to saturate the bridge with force energy to allow him to see much more clearly, given that he saw with the force itself. "I managed to close the blast doors at least..." The ensign said trying to redeem himself to the lord. "Hmm.... Close most blast doors and those around it to build a double parameter around them, it should slow their advance considerably. Then open a passage way to the secondary bridge, leave it open and clear so the enemy can advance unhindered towards it. Just make sure the secondary bridge cannot be used to control anything aboard the ship or I'll not only have your own head but you family will be my new test subjects." Erebos said threateningly and the ensign did as he was told, however as Erebos began to depart the bridge the captain spoke up. "Where are you going?" This made Erebos look towards him and chuckle a little. "Too meet with our guests of course."

Don't worry about it. I can see this going south, and I don't want to cause drama. I'll just edit my post, and move on to find someone else to write with.

So if anyone wants to write some story stuff, feel free to tag me.

[member="Reinhard Baelor"] to be fair to me
One you just entered, and engaged in one post.
Two if I did not use basic electrical knowledge, I would used plasma grenades
Three I taken 450 casualties so far, average 150 per post. So I am taking damage.
Would took more, but someone shut the doors between me and everyone.
Also use pms next time

Okay said my piece now, peace.

There's an herb for that.

Puffs out his chest. "Oy, there's nothing little about me."

I'll wait for [member="Kylath Connar Amadis"] to post. Just so you know mate, we've got excellent medical care for our prisoners. :D

[member="Aeron Kreelan"] | [member="Matthew Robinson"]
Buttsocking time!!

aka I've sidelined the NPCs for us, but i'll still give [member="Bryce Bantam"] or others material to bounce off as and when at his location.

If we get more pcs joining the brawl other than us 3, then i'll bring some npcs in to balance

[member="Matthew Robinson"]
As for med care, that's good, i'll make sure you get some for your interrogation later :p

*I also realise you were near the hanger in your posts, so I didn't assume anything, just put perhaps on the location.

[member="Kylath Connar Amadis"] - Good man, appreciate the thought, I'm gonna try to get [member="Lyle Baelor"] to come play with me in the hanger, he is heading our way now...

Yeah I'm talking to you [member="Lyle Baelor"] , you scared of a green skinned ginger, if not as they say, "come get some Slick!" :D

[member="Kylath Connar Amadis"] - Hey just wanted to let you know that it wasn't that I'm ungrateful for NPC to play with, I just wanted to get an quick victory there to clear the decks so [member="Lyle Baelor"] can have a clean slate to paint on.

Also I hope I gave them a fitting end.
