Invasion of Roche OOC [GR vs Mandos]

[member="Juwiela Melec"]
It's fine. I just tend to lose track of time and days due to work is all. Thought it had been less than a day since the post, just recently saw it was a couple of days since lol figured I'd pop up and see what's what :p

Are you gonna fight the Champions of Truth and Justice and their Evil Side Kick? I understand if not, I just wanna know before moving on.
Likely not since I already have a prearranged duel, but if it comes down to it story-wise then we might have to see about making it work. For now I would err on the side of caution and go with no.

OOC/IC Note for Roche

One of the Mandalorian Frigates has begun broadcasting white noise on every available frequency, effectively jamming all Comms in the system and all communication coming and going from the system. On one frequency in particular, a video of a young Hutt singing and dancing was broadcast instead of white noise.

Thanks. That sent me into a twenty minute YouTube spiral. Good job. I hope you're happy.

Figured I'd let you know since you missed it, but I had decloaked to fire. I can't fire when cloaked lol So you'd pick me up on ship sensors and while Melec wouldn't be able to see me at all, Oddball and non Miralukans could. I'll wait a few to let you guys edit if desired :p

I have a question about this, though it can also be general to the site as a whole.

How much real world science is usable in SW Chaos?

The only reason I ask is because my grad program deals a lot with the EM field, and so I personally know things that could combat this tactic IRL, but I don't know about in SW Chaos....

Most of SW takes WWII technology and glosses over it with a big, shiny, scifi paintbrush. A lot of more modern technology has slipped in over the years as people try to keep the story fresh and interesting for a modern audience.

If you know of a fancy way of dealing with jammed comms, go ahead and try it. I've no idea if "realspace" communications are based on redio waves or something fancier, but they should function similarly. Just... probably a bit faster to avoid delays in communication due to distance. Subspace and Hyperspace communications though... Pure made up BS. So who knows.

Yeah, I wasn't going to even touch Subspace and Hyperspace comms. The only thing my knowledge could likely get me is purely local communication, between my three ships and maybe the ancient pickets I've been given for protection.

Essentially, the em field based communication takes several things into consideration for signal, but the one I maybe plan to use is the correlation between distance and power. My ships being closer to each other than your sensor frigate, should be able to feed more power to their communication systems in order to talk to each other. I'll likely make it more interesting with system power tolerance and some stuff.

The thing with the sensors apparently didn't connect for me, so thanks for pointing that one out. She'd be able to get a better estimate of where Arrbi is rather than just guessing, since her ship would be able to pick that up. Thanks for the heads up, I'll go tweak things a bit now.
