Invasion of Roche OOC [GR vs Mandos]

I was just thinking more about the damaged sections of the ship that wouldn't be stealthed out; you can use that in later posts to maintain the transport's location.

Eidolon-class Transport

optical shields found originally found on the SkyBlind Reconnaissance Ship. While not impossible to detect, especially at close ranges, it is very difficult to find by random chance.

Reconnaissance Ship

The SkyBlind used both sensor jammers and visually cloaking optical shields to conceal itself. To a casual observer on the ground, a SkyBlind would appear as a discoloration in atmosphere that would be easily confused with natural phenomena.

At close ranges, the ship you're using is actually fairly easy to maintain track of. Just... look directly at it. The optical camouflage, apparently, can't "exactly" match the colors of its surrounding environment. The big thing is, that the ship is not detected by random chance. If you are already looking for it, or if damaged systems or pilot error leads to it being detected, then continuing to track it after initially finding it is very much possible. "Especially at close ranges."

Also...

Eidolon-class Transport
The Eidolon is very much a lesser starship with all of its stealth systems in operation. The optical shield's power use means that the ship doesn't have any ray shielding during its use. In addition, the ship's physical flight performance is also very limited when it is running on its coldest setting. It is generally equivalent to a corvette, a ship often ten times the transport's size.

So long as you are maintaining your cloak, you're barely faster than Naast'ika, three times as slow as the Beskad Starfighters, 4 times as slow as the Cabur Starfighters, and twice as slow as the Cabur Patrol Ships and Rekali Fighters.

I've actually been giving you a lot of benefit of the doubt in that regard. Naast'ika should have caught up with you two posts ago. But I figured I'd play it out with the Fighters first.

Especially close range, without an asteroid fields to account for. And considering the transport's head start, I don't feel either party has been giving one another lee-way, I think it's played out accurately enough.

As far as optical camo, the only colors the vessel has to emulate are black; we're in space, and visibility is immensely limited by the fact that there is no atmosphere for light to reflect from, providing no back drop against which to compare the vessel. So spotting the vessel visually in an asteroid fields would be next to impossible without technological assistance.

That being said, I feel we've done a perfectly decent job thus far, and with no real coordination. We'll have to do this again some time.

Asteroids. We're in a dense region of the asteroid field and we've both been flying as close to the asteroids as we can get. When Demona originally spotted the shuttle visually, it was because there was an asteroid on the far side of it.

Posted. Sorry for the wait. Been busy with other things in the evenings, and been exhausted. If you need me to fix anything which doesn't make sense, just Skype me :)

Think I might have to drop out of this with Lusk, not due to any drama issues or anything cause that's been smooth sailing. I'm just a bit bored with things to be honest. So [member="Keira Ticon"] and [member="Dish"] I know you two got this!
