Cato managed to seize Serena by the shoulders. Inanna and Ashur caught up with them not long after. "You scared us half to death!" she added to her husband's admonishment.

"I wanted to be a superhero."

Inanna shook her head, releasing a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. "You're too young to be a superhero, baby."

There was no sign of the Ssi-ruuk in the spa. "Cais ned'jin." Inanna rubbed a hand over her face, exasperated and exhausted. "That's enough excitement for one day. We better go back to our room," she said, shooting Cato a weary look. For the children's sakes, if nothing else.

Serena deflated at her parents' admonishments, especially on the point of her youth. Cato guided her back towards the exit.

"That's enough excitement for one day. We better go back to our room,"

Cato couldn't help but continue watching the room, waiting for some sudden reveal. But nothing came. He looked back at Inanna, but she was weary, and wanted to get the kid's out of here. Probably for the best. But… Cato couldn't help but feel his old habits begging him to push forward. "…Alright." He followed them out, "Let's get outta here."

Perhaps he could do some snooping of his own later.

Once they got back to the hotel room, Inanna focused on taking care of the kids. Dinner was right around the corner; she got them food and made sure they were distracted, putting cartoons on the holo for them to watch.

Serena still seemed glum about not being allowed to save the day. Ashur on the other hand was glad that the experience was over. Inanna lingered nearby, watching them, before she signaled to Cato that she wanted to talk to him and headed for their bedroom, where they could be alone.

Back at the hotel, Inanna tried to settle the kids back into a sense of normalcy. Cato did what he could to help, but found himself a bit distracted by the day's events as well.

Inanna's look his way triggered Cato to follow her into the bedroom, closing the door behind him, "What's on your mind?"

Their room was small, but had a lovely view of the ocean through its window. The sun was setting over the sea, painting the waves in shades of purple and orange and casting a warm glow on the smooth white bedsheets.

There was a mirror on the wall. Inanna caught a glimpse of her reflection and realized that she was still clad in her black swimsuit. She had been so focused on other things, she forgot she was wearing it. Hearing the door slide shut behind her, she started to slide the straps down, glancing at Cato over her bare shoulder.

She knew him well enough to recognize when he was distracted, and it wasn’t hard to guess what he was thinking about. The Wroonian, the Ssi-ruuk, and most of all the lack of a proper response from the security droids had been occupying her mind too.

There are nanny droids for hire here,” she remarked, watching him out of the corner of her eye as she peeled off the rest of her swimsuit. “We could have one watch the kids for a few hours tonight. Just long enough to have a look around…
