Is your Skype Experience PG-13?

I don't have an account on skype but let me say this.

Skype is skype. Its for people to talk freely away from this board and its rules of being a PG-13 site. Really, I could care less if people curse. However, I am not a fan of cursing myself and choose not to because others may think it is immoral or vulgar. Some people may know this, but if you don't *spoilers of my RL* I am a Mormon in real life. and one of the "codes of conduct" or rules are that we are not to take the lords name in vain. And I try to abide by that rule I think the worse that I have cussed was saying Hell, or Damned/Damn during one of my Roleplays. If you see the word B*stard in one of the threads, its because I am using the old term of "a Fatherless child" rather than the vulgar term.

Anyways. I could care less about the conversation that is put up here. I know that people will go to skype and rant or talk or whatever to one another how ever they want. And there is nothing to stop them from doing whatever. So I guess I can say that if someone is on the site here, it usually stays on the site. and when you are on skype, it stays on skype.

For the most part.

What would you say to a new member who asks about the importance of Skype and RP'ing here? What advice would you give them? :)

@[member="Jay Scott Clark"] Is this an interrogation or an interview? :p

I would say that If you are keen on just roleplaying and having fun on site, then not to apply for the Skype where people will be constantly talking to you. Taking your mind into their conversation, rather than having a muse for your character. But if you are here to have fun for a very long time, and expect to has out ideas all the time, maybe even ask a wide range of people that you know without putting it on here, ether for reasons of secrecy, or just becuase you only want these hand picked people of yours. Then you can use skype.

Persionally I don't use skype because I want to keep my Roleplaying life here. AND LET IT STAY HERE! I don't want to be on a date and think about my characters next move is. I want to be focused if I will be getting lucky on my date. SO I leave all the star wars and drama and roleplaying of the site here where it belongs rather than in the real world where I need to work, and have fun with people that I have known for years.

Others may feel the same way, or just the opposite. Ether way, I think that if you are new to the site. to stay off of Skype until you have a hang of the people here first, then migrate over to the place of no return.

It's a Discussion. Lol. It's not a PPI with your Bishop, or an Elder's Quorum meeting, or Stake Conference. You volunteered a good deal of information without even participating actively on Skype. So I thought your perspective was unique and worthly of comment.

Thanks for sharing. I think a lot of new members could benefit from your insights. :D

Skype is a communication tool. It doesn't replace the forum either for RPing or for information. It's simply an easier method than PMs to coordinate people.
If I knew that it would have been easier to say that then I would have. *facepalm*

Do you think I should create a Guide about Skype for New Members? Or should they just figure this all out for themselves?

Thanks. And this comes from a 17 year old who will be going on his mission in a year or so.
And maybe you should? to avoid confusion from on site and off site relations.

Cursing? You're worried about the boy cursing when he mentions "getting lucky" on a date. Premartial sex seems like a bigger deal than dropping the F-bomb. Perhaps its a good thing you have Jay watching over your shoulder.
