Campaign It Will Burn | TB Campaign of SJC held Dandoran, Nar Chunna, Nar Kreeta, Kintan & Klantooine

It-Will-Burn.png

We lost, and the cracks in the Bryn'adul have begun to show the threat of weakness. Tensions rise, fear feasters. But we have survived and prospered. No matter how hard the fight - We will Endure and everything that stands in our way, will burn. The children of the Titan remain unbroken, and their forward march continues.

Across five star systems, the Bryn'adûl launch a massive attack against the Silver Jedi Concord, and at the epicentre of this Galactic battlefield, at the eye of the storm -

- Nar Kreeta.

BrynDiv.png

Kreeta-City.png

OBJECTIVE: Win the City
Fighting for every inch of ground, the Bryn'adûl warriors are locked in vicious combat with the defenders of Kreeta City. A vicious trench battle engulfs the massive steps leading upward to the Palace held by the Silver Jedi Concord. Fire and battle engulfs the surrounding city streets and buildings, all out war engulfs Kreeta City as the landed forces of the Bryn'adûl attempt to seize the city for themselves and take control of the battlefield.

BrynDiv.png

Marketplace.png

Objective: Secure the marketplace
Capturing the city has proven too difficult to do so on its own, this marketplace runs under the main area of the city and has access to a variety of easily defendable areas and routes into the heart of the city that are otherwise inaccessible due to enemy positions. We must secure the marketplace if we are to take Kreeta City with minimal casualties!

BrynDiv.png

Outskirts.png

Objective: Regroup, destroy the City defences
The outskirts of the city are home to much of the Kreeta City's defences against us, and now is also home to many wreckages of our invasion force. Those stranded must regroup, our forces are shattered. We must disable the city defence that we can, and regroup so that we may fight together. Unity and strength!

Location: In shuttle about to crash into a building bordering the Market

Sethrak closed his eyes, cutting out the frequent bright red flashes of sparks in the otherwise dimly lit landing shuttle. His heart pounded in his chest as he braced for impact. The shuttle had been knocked off course by anti-air cannons. The walls had been penetrated in several places by shrapnel. Several of the Drael alongside Sethrak had fallen, shrapnel stuck in their chests and throats. The outside air whistled as the shuttle rocketed forward with no control, yet provided no relief from the scorching hot air from body heat and laser fire.

The Warlock felt sick, his stomach churning like butter and his head spinning. Closer, closer, closer.

Everything slowed down.

The ship collided with something as Sethrak fell forwards. Something heavy landed on his back and the craft continued to spin, ramming into solid objects every other second. Finally it slowed to a low rumbling grind. Smoke filled the air around Sethrak as he groaned, rising to his feet slowly and unsteadily. Still uneasy he slowly looked around the ship. Several Drael still lived. Good.

“Rise, Drael. We must move quickly less the foe find us here…” Wherever here is.

He kicked the door open, easily due to damage it had sustained already. Expecting the door’s destruction to reveal a burst of light, Sethrak squinted, only to reopen his eyes. The outside was dark. This wasn’t outside...it was a building of some kind. He stepped out, grasping his Drael Splitter, a relatively new gun developed by the Bryn’Adul capable of long range fire. He hadn’t planned on landing in a building, but perhaps it was the best situation for the weapon.

The ship hadn’t gone into the building as far as it had seemed….only a few large lunges and he’d be at the entry point. He looked outside to observe their positioning. They were several levels above the ground, and battle. As for the battle itself, it appeared that there was a stalemate between the two forces. He aimed down the sights of the Splitter, a rather heavy weapon while standing. The Bryn were at 3 O’clock, the enemy at 6 and a half.

“Find windows that give us a better vantage over the enemy. Baedurin, secure our flank, that means steps and any way the foe could get behind us.”

With that, he turned to look for a vantage with the others. His support would help the Bryn below in a major way….if he hurried. It was likely that they would need to move after a few shots, but Sethrak had no plan of doing so. They will hold this building. They will endure the onslaught and secure a major victory for the Bryn’Adul.

The arsenal of the Bryn'adul had increased since their previous altercations with the members of the Silver Jedi Order. Where once the machinations of the Draelvasier had manifested themselves in an arsenal of increasingly deadly devices, and in spectacularly fierce beasts and monsters, they had now expanded this armory to include an undeniable sense of vengeance. With every step that a member of their mighty race walked, there was that sense of becoming, of retaking what they had lost in the battle of Yurb.

Pressed and beaten back, the Draelvasier had endured the injuries that they had taken in that catastrophic battle, and they had learned from their errors and mistakes. Now they had returned - and they'd brought that fire with them and the will to set ablaze whatever stepped into their path. At the heart of the conflict was a world of typical insignificance... but today it would be the first step in a long journey towards galactic sterilization, towards the perfection that they all wished to impress upon every world.

Within the confines of one of the city's many streets, Osam stood alongside his squadron of loyal Risen, prepared to spread violence among the populace wherever it might be brought to bear. He felt confident in his suit of armor, confident in himself, and with the newly produced armaments filling his hand, he was certain of absolute victory.

The Draelvasier were here - again.

Cover to cover, the Emissary moved with his loyals at his back. Darting from sides of the open streets as explosions fell from the sky, crossfire.

The explosion threw rubble across his back, shuffling in a hunched manner as he reached cover with
Pavium. The third, Gardak dropping dead a few steps behind them. The once Juggernaut General still felt the same pain watching Juggernaut kin die as he had when he was only a Grenadier. Such a long time ago that was - damn. A blaster shot cut through the thick fallen pillar, glancing off his shoulder.

“To the tenabrak slime with this heep!” Galak cursed, growling. He wanted to keep his one good eye. His shoulder plate glowed like heated metal. His instinct was to blow on it, but he knew that’d be stupid.

They were in the thick of it now, Kreeta City had become death itself, these very streets leading to the massive stairway to the Palace had become the epicentre of a tsunami of battle and fire. They’d nearly lost a fifth of their initial landing force attacking the City. He hugged the Chaingun to his chest, looking over his shoulder at Pavium as he quickly glanced to the Captain. The taste of blood and metal laced the smoke and fire that seemingly cried out from every direction among their ranks. This wasn’t going very well, not yet anyhow, Galak growled in frustration as he looked down across the battlefield raging in the heart of the city. They weren’t on the backfoot such as yet, but it wouldn’t take much for them to get there. They had to fight back, they had to come together united. They had to endure whatever the Jedi threw at them. Their bonds could not break.

“We need those reinforcements!” Pavium uttered, shouting over the miasma of gunfire and explosions.

Galak pushed himself up from cover, shooting upward through the street and toward the beginning of the steps with his Chaingun. Pulling back, he nodded, looking up to the sky as it raged in torment - the battle above echoing the turmoil felt on the ground. It had been his responsibility as Emissary, as one of the Hand of Khaeus to lead the Chieftain’s first attack force into the city. So far, he’d failed. He was afraid, but it couldn’t let that stop him. This was his responsibility.

“Tathra! Where in the Moons of Eld are you?! We need the second wave to land now, we have a foothold but they’re dug in.” Galak called, raising his gauntlet to speak into the communication stone in his gauntlet.

The battlenet was on fire. This city was on fire; he looked around, watching Drone and Juggernaut alike die on this wretched planet. But still, they had to hold. They had to endure.

Silver Jedi Concord

With the threat of the Bryn’adul coming towards the Silver Jedi Concord, the Concord has ordered the evacuation of several of our border worlds, and granted the Defense Force the right to treat these worlds as a protective barrier between the forces of the Bryn and the Concord’s general populace. The world of Nar Kreeta has become a heavily fortified world with all that the Concord can throw at the Bryn. The City itself has become a militant ghost town, set up with all manner of defenses and tools for asymmetrical combat.

Masterminds of the Defense Force, lead by General Kevin McCallister have prepared the world for combat to strike the Bryn here and hold the ground, not allowing them to move further into the Silver Sphere.

With the Bryn on the ground, the Silver Fleet is moving in to destroy and cripple the fleet of the attackers, intent on preventing more from landing, or any from leaving this system. Nar Kreeta belongs to the Silver Concord, and we will defend it.

o0rTLy9.png

Kreeta City has become a military war zone, between Concord’s preparations and the Bryn’s attack, fight back the invaders using all that is up our sleeves.

sXKm0yk.png

As the Bryn are moving forward, they are attempting to get under the City through the Market, however, the Concord is there waiting, and ready.

HD21b52.png

As the Bryn land there forces, and move towards the City, not all of them are heading towards the Palace. Others are still in the Outskirts of the city, prove to them that its not just the City we’ve prepared to protect.

The Silver Fleet is in orbit fighting back the Bryn fleet, keeping them from landing more forces, and working to actively disrupt their plans of retreat.

In the moments before they had landed, he felt it. Drek’ma’s heart thumped in his chest harder than when he’d been poisoned, more pain coursed through his mind than when that Sniper had obliterated his hand. Fear, fear gripped him and the beasts could smell it on him like perfume. Fear of what was to come, the Seers spoke of an inevitable betrayal, a fall. The Primarch stayed at the back of the battle, guiding among the other Shamans and coordinating their efforts.

A massive battle that would herald the splintering of their people as he understood them. A battle that would herald pain beyond imagining for the Titan. It was true, his fear was not for himself but for the creator he had served alongside dutifully for nigh on two arduous decades. He had seen the rise and folly of their people, and he deemed Tathra their necessary leader.

But, in his heart he knew this battle would be the one. The way the force moved and acted here, it told him everything he needed to know. The fear was slick like a glaze. His hand felt unsteady as the Staff in its grip rattled slightly. He tried his best to hide it, focusing on the present. They had lost one of the Servitors upon entry, its carcass cast along the great swath of sand beyond this city, surrounded by broken instruments of their design. Now, the battle raged on in full commitment. There was so little he could do, powerlessness was truly a new experience but one that cursed him on this day of all days. He refocused his mind, the
Rhivaks, Brumaks they had released into the city fought alongside the Juggernauts, Drones and Zealots as Ra'maks flew overhead, delivering support fire. But they were met with equal matches of mechanical design, the defences of this wretched place were numerous.

This would not be an easy fight, but they had to endure. His eyes looked to the sky above, watching and waiting for the Chieftain’s arrival. They would rally, together their kin could defeat any foe. His thoughts travelled, his beast mastery stretched into the sand beneath, the Servitor that had survived was Akmad; a
Guardian serpent. A powerful creature, one who sensed his fear.

“Servitor Akmad, I summon you to this flesh. I command you, my child of serpents. Child of Al-Hadad. Your will is mine.” Drek’ma spoke, yet to no avail as his words travelled without power, without control and so did the creature not listen.

He thought to ball his stub into a fist but could not, frothing with frustration as his control was lessened. The Servitor would not heed his commands, it remained underground and away from the battle. Though he was the only one who could truly command it.

“Inform the Emissary that the Guardian will not heed me.” The Primarch spoke to one of his Honor Guard standing adjacent.

Rhea couldn't believe she was back here.

Back where it all began.

The collapse of the GA had drawn a line in the sand she swore she'd never cross again. Yet here she was, standing next to the jedi that somehow... someway... got her give a flying feck.

She puffed heavily on the deathstick between her lips, a slight tremor to the hands that plucked it out and tossed it away. "It's working," she told Caedyn Arenais , her voice tight with the smoke she held in her lungs. The rush of chemicals was a small balm against the stress that pulsed through her. She had once found thrill in the fight .

She took no pleasure in the sounds of gun fire rickashaying off the edge of the city.

It was a ghost town, thank fek, and unlike any battleground she had seen before. The government had clearly poured its resources into its front line, the militarized city more like decked out training ground than a place that had once held families.

Children.

A trap exploded in the distance-- a pressure point triggered by an unsuspecting enemy as it tried to push into, what--Rhea glanced down, looking at her map. "Quadrant 1, school court yard," she reported. "Baridium bomb." She spoke over her coms, a system that every defender wore in their ears. "Leave it to me, I'll follow up."

She glanced sideways at Caedyn, her eyes the only thing to betray her fear. They bore into him for an intense moment, then gestured for him to join up.

Concordia was ready this time.

And they would burn the whole place down if it meant taking these genocidal fekkers with them.

The front lines were not a place for any Zealot.
Yet due to misfortune and miscalculation, the Elite Squad found themselves in the front of an attack against a defensive that grew stronger by the second. A sniper bolt was launched Krarolk's way, one of over a dozen that had targeted the Zealot Elite over the past half hour. He once more reached into his inner spirit, and a thin light green panel appeared in the air between the Zealot and the bolt, causing it to bounce away harmlessly. However, Krarolk's shields had grown smaller and weaker over the past few minutes. The constant pressure of being fired upon from a distance had forced him to perform evasive action and block shots whenever it was not possible. And Krarolk's misfortune had begun the moment he guided the Elite Squad's Shard into Nar Kreeta.

Half an hour ago, overwhelming anti-aircraft fire forced Krarolk to crash-land the trio's Shard.

It had taken them another five minutes to join the regrouping frontline and clear enough space around them to leave the cover of their wrecked shuttle. Even after being absorbed into a larger combined task force, the Zealot Elites had quickly realized that the current battlefield was not in their favor. They were facing the main fortifications of skilled defenders, with heavy fire that had yet to end pounding down on the Draelvasier columns from many angles. As a result, the trio had decided to split up to search for weak spots in the enemy line. However, they had instead realized how many weak spots were in their own front line.

Still, as Elites, they had to serve as the prime examples for their kin.

Yes, the front lines were not the proper place for a Zealot. However, now was no time for an assassination. If Krarolk and the other Elites wanted to be part of the wave that finally crashed over the wall of the defenders, they would have to fight alongside their common comrades.

The General crashed onto her knees, retreating. This marketplace was a maze, a damn maze and they didn’t know it all too well. Their initial scans hadn’t shown much in the way of anti-air defences, they must’ve hidden them somehow. But there wasn’t time to think of that, there was almost no time at all to think of anything but the battle at hand.

Thus far they’d been locked in a stalemate, every step forward they took was almost immediately ripped away from them. Gordrak and his troops had been their muscle, pushing where needed. But every time, they got flanked or shot in their backs. They didn’t have much in the way of control in this scenario, but there was no way she was leaving their troops behind.

She was loyal, the Titan had told her to take this marketplace and as a loyal General she would do so. They would endure whatever came.

“Stand your ground! Reinforcements will arrive soon enough and we will take this city for the Bryn! For the Draelvasier!” She roared, looking about her troops as her eyes hovered over the Risen-Srael warriors.

Was it fair to call them warriors? Risen were just Sraelvun Drones with more training, pretending they could be better than their lowly caste indicated. It was a farce, she knew this and knew not to count on them in this battle. They would endure and succeed, but it didn’t help that they’d sent drones to do a Zealots job.

Caedyn Arenais stood side by side with Rhea, the Special Forces Lykos Squad in the process of last minute preparations before heading into the frontlines of the battle for Kreeta City. The Silver Jedi Concord had done well to prepare it's borders for another anticipated invasion following the events of Yurb; Rhea herself hadn't been present there yet Caedyn had informed her in great detail of what they had encountered during that horrific battle.

The Bryn'adul were beasts not to be underestimated and so having learned from Yurb, the Concord had cleared Nar Kreeta and a number of other World's on the eastern regions of Silver Space in order to keep the civilians safe from the encroaching horde.

"Captain Harris" Caedyn called for the Commanding Officer's attention, "Have your men form up, it's time" he informed the Captain before turning back to look to Rhea, meeting her gaze with his own, the Jedi Knight's features looking more aged by the stress and weight of likely death that this war would further bring.

"We've done all that we can, the City's rigged with every thing we brought with us. They won't see the explosives until they're right on top of them" Caedyn have Rhea a firm nod, hoping to assure her. He of course shared her fears of what was to come, however doing his best to rise above his emotions and keep his mind upon the objective before them. Were the Bryn'adul to overcome the Silver Jedi Concord here, then there further movements into Silver Space would endanger millions of innocent lives.

"Let's move out, watch your squad members blind spots" He called back to Lykos Squad while moving to accompany Rhea along side her, "The Bryn'adul only know one language, it's us or them and if we don't do our job here, many more will die...".

Situated in Orbit of Nar Kreeta, Captain Gene Whayeson stood upon the Bridge of the Vagabond Heavy Patrol Cruiser, one vessel among numerous others of the Silver Jedi Fleet defending Nar Kreeta from the first wave of the Invasion Force. Watching from the Observation Deck, the bow of the Vagabond was lit up with volleys of powerful turbo-laser fire while the enemy fleet did it's best to make it passed the blockade and down unto the surface of their target destination.

Every enemy vessel that would be shot down here would mean Silver Jedi lives spared upon the Surface, Gene's voice echoed across the bridge as she shouted commands to her Senior Officers, they of whom relayed sensory data and tactical readouts from the damage being dished out, as well as that which was being directed back at them.

Ion Space Mines had been strategically placed in order for maximum effect against the invading fleet, while the Vagabond's significant array of offensive weapon systems were being prioritized, power being redirected from all other systems in order to purge anything and everything that came within firing distance.

Hours before the invasion started, Starlin Rand had looked in the ‘fresher mirror, examining his new Padawan braid from all angles (the rattail had seemed like a good idea when he first started growing it out, but now he wasn’t so sure), and sighed. “Time to go get killed,” he’d muttered at his reflection with dark humor. “Or at least earn a few scars. Maybe it’ll improve things a little. Give me a hot veteran soldier look. If I survive, I'll be swimming in women.”

Now he sat in a carrier speeder en route to the Marketplace, which according to reports the Bryn were doing their damnedest to overrun in order to gain access to the rest of the city. Starlin’s eyes were closed as he struggled to find the calm center which came so easily to him during training. The Force was there, with him, all around him, but if he didn’t use it, didn’t open himself up to it completely (or as much as he possibly could with legs that felt like jelly and a churning gut), he’d be shipped home in a casket, if he ever got to go home at all.

This was Starlin’s first big battle, and naturally the apprentice was more than a little terrified. He felt out of place among the other more seasoned Jedi in the transport with him, most of whom had seen far more carnage than he ever had. Or maybe not, he reminded himself quietly. After all, my lessons have typically included fighting covens of Dark Side witches led by evil sorceresses with the price of admission. Surely that experience counts for something, doesn’t it?…

But his master had always accompanied him on those adventures. For this mission, he was fighting a new enemy all alone… well, he was without Syd, that is. Assuming she didn’t show up on the ground, in which case he was probably in for a serious talking-to about the consequences of rushing into battle by himself when he was still just an apprentice. Yeah, maybe better pray that Syd didn’t show up to help him. Last he heard, she was busy elsewhere anyway.

It didn’t help matters that the entire city was apparently boobytrapped by the desperate SJC forces. With his luck, Starlin would probably wind up tripping a hidden mine and blowing himself to bits.

Well, better to die a warrior’s death than surrender. Right?...

Right.

Fleet: Keros' Kad, 10x Torrent-types, 4x Enigma-class FACs, 6x PS-1 "Tagger" Corvettes (escort type), 2x Neebray-class cargo frigates (Carrier modification), Talyc Squadron (8 GF-2Bs), 5x GF-2B Super TwinTail squadrons (48), 2x 8-R Toscan squadrons (24), 4x "Kodashi" Viper MkII squadrons (48), 5x HA-2 Pike squadrons (20)

Vaux smirked from her cockpit, quickly flying behind one of the Bryn transports that were attempting to support their friends. This was her element. The cockpit. "This is Concord Terror, keep it up! We have them on the ropes!" Particle cannon fire continued to pour out of her fighter on the transport before breaking off. A second GF-2B flew behind, in a similar blood red paint scheme.

"Oya!" All around her were other Gred vessels. The Enigma's were flying at top speed, darting between the Bryn vessels while delivering their fire, including firing off Thunder bombs into the larger ships. Taggers made quick work of the heavy maneuvering fighters and kept them at bay. The biggest threats though were only seen for moments. The Torrent-types masked themselves in darkness before unleashing volleys of Blister smart missiles each with a baradium warhead an No Tech fuse, in waves on the Bryn's largest ships, appearing only long enough to launch and sending them from all angles they could. They encircled ships before unleashing these new, destructive weapons.

At the same time, the Keros' Kad performed a similar tactic appearing at seemingly random to fire it's hyper particle cannons, turbolasers, and heavy railguns armed with Kyranator shells. Inside, the ship's AI, Kaddie, couldn't help but feel amazed at this fight. He would quickly send a transmission to the Vagabond, his form appearing almost like a Lothal human.

"Vagabond this is Keros' Kad. Something doesn't seem right here. I know we're using data from Yurb, but...." A transmission from Vaux soon interrupted the AI.

"Don't get chicken now Kaddie! We've got this!" Vaux had a point. The Viper's were going after any ship that tried to enter atmo, the TwinTail and Toscans were striking capital ships and strike craft, and the Pikes were bombing the Bryn ships with Thunder bombs. This was what happened when you ticked off the whole karking galaxy. And while her brother was a much more peaceful person than her, he did know how to rain absolute hellfire on those wo deserved it.

Stationed in the Outskirts but firing into the city itself, the 1st Armored Platoon, aka the Wraith Division, had come with the fleet to assist on the ground. Their tanks were, oddly enough, painted pink (Source here), something that the tankers questioned the logistics officers about, but so far it had worked almost flawlessly! The T-1s were firing their own Kyranator shells into the city, and the Frontlines were firing their particle cannons. Their main targets were the Rhivaks and Brumaks, wanting to take the Bryn's own "tanks" out of the equation from hidden positions. They also aimed for the Servitor when they got the chance, giving it a bath of baradium when they safely could. There weren't civilian, but they were still watching out for Jedi forces.

"This is Mynock to all jetii (Jedi) forces. If you need support fire we are able to assist. Our Frontlines can deliver artillery fire!" Another barrage of fire would be heard at the end of his message, leaving to his troops to decimate the battlefield. This wasn't going to be easy for the Bryn. They hoped the Bryn would knew the can of wormed they'd opened up though. Just like in the stars, hellfire would be coming down.

The old Draelvasier's heart beat like a drum in his chest, hands holding tight on to the railings of the
Gunboat interior within the Dropship, the same as before the Carriers had arrived overhead of the planet. This time, no shield in their way. However, it seemed this time their arrival did not go unnoticed. The battlenet was on fire, Dropships and Gunboats were being teared apart before they could even hit atmosphere. Their reinforcements were being decimated one after the other. He would not allow the fear to consume him, he was their leader. His duty, was to be a leader and a father to his kin. Not a tired old fool leading them into the throws of an early demise, his grip tightened, eye-slits narrowing as he felt the Carrier's lodging cranes shift, the familiar sound of the impending drop sending a shiver up his spine.

"Prepare yourselves." He growled to the interior of the boat. Juggernauts of the 10th, veterans of Yurb surrounded him. He saw fear, hate in their eyes.

He would prove them wrong.

As the ships jettisoned from the Carrier, Heldrak Drosphips and Gunboats alike shot toward the planet surface. In that moment, he remembered what the Seers had foretold. His blood would grow cold, and his weakness would be revealed. He silenced those fears, crushing them as much as he could as everything around him trembled.

Ion space mines and fire from the enemy fleet cut through the Bryn'adûl reinforcement force, a blast finally cut through one of their dropships, the massive transport came whirling at them; Tathra's eyes grew wide as those within the Gunboat shrieked in terror.

"BRACE!" He called out as the Heldrak slammed into them, crushing the cockpit of the Gunboat as it entered atmosphere.

Tathra tensed his grasp, his arms hardening as he spread his stance - body shaking against the violent turbulence of the fall. The only thing he could do - was listen.

"This is Heldrak gamma, we're hit! We- aghhahah!"

"Heldrak gamma six has made land!"

"This is two-twelve boat, we lost half our bird!"

The Gunboat was one of many vessels that made it to the ground, but in reality on half of the Bryn'adûl reinforcement wave made it through. In the sky above, the atmosphere would burn red as ships and many drael lives were lost. Tathra's gunboat crashed through one of the defence towers, shattering it into debris as everything went BLACK.

Kat had spread her forces wide around the outskirts, the planet had been long evacuated of citizens so her soldiers weren't here on rescue missions or looking for trapped people in need of help, this time she had informed them that they were where to end the Brynadul invasions. No more worlds pillaged like so many before, Kat was going to help the SJC stand their ground against the enemy forces. So she had sent them out with their weapons and ordered them to attack Bryn forces, spreading them out far to round up the remaining forces that were brought down in the initial attack. Kat blasted a Bryn soldier onto their back and stabbed them with her Lightsaber.

She sighed, war was all these beings knew, it was all that they wanted to do. She hated these beings much more than SIth, Sith weren't driven to war, at least not all of them. Some could be talked to and some were just set on the wrong path, but beings bred for war that wanted to kill all life and leave planets ravaged. They were beyond talking to, beyond peace talks. War was all they knew and war was all they wanted. So Kat was going to give them hell of a battle. Gripping her saber tight in one hand, she scanned the area, trying to find out where more of them would be hiding, also keeping an eye out for her soldiers. If she gathered them together then they could attack the majority of the Bryn forces in the city. Right now she was focusing on finishing the forces in the outskirts.

War, she was not bred for it. For her, it was draining and only brought sorrow. Hopefully today she would bring sorrow to others.

It was not every day that a Sith Lord strolled about in what amounted to an impromptu fortress belonging to his Order's sworn enemies, but there he was. More unusually still, he was there to aid them, if only technically. The Bryn'adûl were enemies of all civilisation, after all.

It simply would not do to have yet more civilians butchered by those fiends, no, something had to be done.

For that reason - and, if he was honest, to sate his own curiosity - he now waited in the labyrinthian passageways below with a small detachment of his more subtle creatures and operatives, lazily twirling a Soulstone in hand as he waited for the overgrown crabs to get there already.

"Your Excellency, internal Concord comms report contact in quadrant 1. Booby trap, presumed effective. We should be expecting scouts."

Nodding along, Adrian flashed the armoured Changeling a characteristically roguish smile. "Lovely, prepare for a snatch-and-grab."

Clicking his tongue, the Sith Lord tacked on an afterthought. "Oh and Vect? Healthy subjects, please. Corpses are less informative."

Breaths. Slow, slow breaths. Kar'dak gasped, surprised he was alive. But as quickly as the relief of his own survival came, the dread and the confusion came like thunder. Kar'dak crawled from the Gunboats wreckage, climbing past the corpses of his fallen brethren toward light. With heavy ragged breaths, Kal slid from the broken hatch, landing on the scorched ground among the rubble of the defence tower.

Kar looked up to the sky, eyes fully opening as he observed the horrible truth. So much of their reinforcement force had been killed in the landing process, all around their were a mixture of wreckages and deploying forces. But it seemed they'd crashed a distance away, Kar pulled his Carbine from his back. The weapon was nearly entirely busted up, Kar growled in frustration. They had endured, but now he wasn't so sure. They were stranded here, maybe it made him a heretic but he saw where Tathra had lead them, the death.

"Kar'dak!" A weak voice came from the edge of his periphery.

The Juggernaut minor rushed over, pushing away rubble. His heart sank at the site, the majority of the upper torso of his blood-kin; Fel'Dak.

"Brother.." His voice was weak, staggering over to the gored mess that remained of him.

They had survived many battles together, Fel had been a better warrior, a better Drael and the ambitions of the Titan had gotten him killed. Tears streamed from the trembling face of the Juggernaut as he nodded to his blood-kin.

"Sleep now, blood of mine." He did his best to comfort him, the shock killed him before the wounds could. But at least he wasn't in pain anymore.

Unknown to him, his fellow Juggernauts had gathered around him. They felt what he felt, he knew it in their hearts. Those who did not would die for it. Today, Tathra would die too.

"It was only a matter of time until we'd be riding to the same battle, eh?" Mathieu spoke to the Knight sitting opposite to him. They had been friends for a long time, since before the Padawan had joined the ranks of the Silver Jedi Concord, in fact. This was the first time the two of them ventured into a warzone together - but there was little cause for worry. They had worked together in the past.

The Frittata hit a big bump, causing the cabin to shake noticeably - none of the men and women inside the one whey were in fell over. By this time, they were used to it. A smirk spread across his lips "One more bump and I win the bet" he said as he threw a mischievous gaze at his friend.

"Jedi!" a voice called out for them from the back in the communications part of the vehicle. Standing up, the former Mercenary let out a casual "That's us" He waited for the Kiffar Jedi to get up - this was probably the last 'private moment' they'd have before the battle, and so, he put his hand on his friend's arm "Stay safe"

As soon as they entered the communications section, a holotable could be seen in the middle. A detailed 3D map of their vicinities could be seen, including the four other Frittata transports that flanked them. The Major in command of the current operations turned to face them. The old and battle hardened Toydarian let her eyes scan the two Jedi once more "Tynen, Brion. Good to have you here. We just just about to arrive. You boys better get ready." she said before turning on the comms to speak to the troops directly.

"This is Major Dansk. The Bryn we're intercepting are currently moving by a calm river. We're coming up on the other side. We'll stay the vehicles behind a hill bend, you'll have trees, rocks and height to defend yourselves with. But keep in mind that we're facing Bryn, most of the time, they don't give a kark what you have in front of you, so play smart and listen to the coms. Dansk out." What the Major described was precisely what would happen. The Frittatas stopped on the opposite side of the river as the Bryn behind a wide hill.

Mathieu could feel how the transport he was in was slowing down too and just as it did, it hit another rock, but it never came back down from it, instead, the driver simply stopped the vehicle and opened the ramps to let the troops get out. A quick look was shot to Cassie, confused about who the winner of their bet was. But there were more important tasks at hand. The Padawan had been tasked with staying with command for a bit as a reserve, and with that, he gave Cassie a knowing nod before they parted ways.

From the holotable, he watched as the nearly 200 Kastolar troops rushed out from their five transports and formed a wide line that crept up onto the hilltop where they would take cover. The Major was already barking orders, adjusting troop positions and instructing squad leaders on what weapons to prepare. Mathieu was feeling rather redundant, but he remembered how Dansk wanted 'a forcie' with her - apparently, their luck was uncanny.

The attack did not start immediately and many of the troops had some time to get into position. But there was no calm before the storm - that was when they rode in with the Frittatas, what could be observed now was organised chaos, pure and simple. Mathieu studied the Major and the holomap carefully, making sure to soak in whatever knowledge he could. Many of the general strategies were well known to him, his time as a Mercenary saw to that. But the Toydarian knew so much more.

Bringing his commlink to his arm, he contacted Cas "Better tell your guys to load up their MEAT Launchers with those Sundae Shells. Things are about to get hot" he paused for a moment as a smirk spread across his lips "Or, you know... cold" It was a bad joke, but the Padawan got a good chuckle out of it regardless.

“And….theerreee we go!”

With enough effort, they’d managed to wedge another mine into the cracked foundation of a building. It was a tall, thin structure that spiraled upwards through the canopy of the marketplace, serving as something of a pillar for the massive jumble of shops and stores.

The evacuation of Nar Kreeta had left a once-bustling planet desolate and quiet. Yula had visited the planet a handful of times, mostly to haggle for knock-off parts in the marketplace. It was still very much a maze without all of the usual commotion, but there’d ben enough ruckus soon enough. The Concord’s decision for the deserted streets of Nar Kreeta was both grim and severe; it was to be a deadly sacrifice into the great maw of the Bryn’adul forces.

“Do we have any more left, or was that the last of them?” Standing from her crouched position, she faced the girl who’d been assigned to her for the duration of the battle. Something about giving her more responsibility and Yula bristled at the thought of the Masters trying to turn her into a Jedi. That path wasn’t for her. Still, the kid was alright. Yula just felt sorry for who she’d been stuck with.

If she could say one thing for the enemy forces, it was that they were relentless. From their perch several stories up, Yula watched a ship streak across the sky and into a building. The impact upset the interwoven structure of the marketplace, causing the wood and metal scaffolding spread throughout the area to shudder and groan. Yula had to grab the railing for support, peering to the streets below and watching as a few of her sentinel droids scampered towards the noise.

Tapping the comm in her ear, she practically snorted.

“They’re flying into buildings now, I guess.”

As the shockwave tapered off, something caught Yula’s notice about a story or so below—a man standing in an alleyway, surrounded by armored beings. Her brow knit in confusion. “Is that one of ours? I didn’t think they’d penetrated this far into the…” She whispered to a Padawan in a low tone, voice coming to a halt as the gears began to turn in her head. The man was becoming more recognizable by the moment and she couldn’t help but shout.

“Holy chit, you're Adrian Motherkarking Vandiir!”

Yula vaulted herself over the railing.

Cas sat hunched over, arms rested over his thighs and fingers interlaced together. The Kiffar was still healing from his back wound he attained on Voss, every so often it would burn, a nice physical reminder of his second encounter with Insatious. Still though, he was calm, at peace, surprisingly the flow of battle was one of the places where he felt most at peace - it was... a form of moving meditation for him. His head tilted slightly at Mathieu's comment, a smirk crept up on his face as a result "The Bryn won't know what hit 'em." he said confidently. Truth be told, he'd never encountered one of their species before but he knew what he was up against and despite the jokes and the lighthearted bravado, he knew what was at stake.

"You seem so confident we'll hit another one." he retorted flashing him a smirk in return, leaning back slightly as he adjusted the cuff of his leather glove. Hopefully this light armor would serve him well in the upcoming battle, he was still getting used to it following his old attire being shredded on Voss.

The Jedi's head whipped in the direction of the voice coming from the communications area of the vehicle. Exchanging a glance with the Morellian, he stood up shortly after him and followed him to comms. Feeling Mat's heavy hand on his shoulder, Cas returned the gesture with a look of sincerity "You too, Stretch." smiling softly at him. With that, they were now at the communications section and amongst the others Cas was stood around a holotable, gazing at the holographic representation of the vicinity committing it to memory and as he did so he listened intently to what Major Dansk had to say.

When the transport stopped, leaving the fate of their bet uncertain Cas glanced at the Padawan with a puzzled look before shrugging nonchalantly. Before parting ways, Cas gave a comically lazy salute before leading his squad out of the transport. Some of the squad consisted of the surviving Concord Rangers he aided on Voss, following the death of their Commander; Cas requested that the remaining members be placed under him as the young Jedi Knight wanted to honor their commander's sacrifice.

Stationed with the rest of the troops on the hilltop waiting for the inevitable. Cas took the opportunity with the small amount of time they had left to address some things, with the troopers in his squad all lined up ready for orders the Jedi Knight stood front and centre, facing his men. Following awkwardly clearing his throat he began to speak "Look, I'm uh... pretty new to this whole 'leading troops into battle thing' but, uh, I just want to let you all know this is risky business and that you're all extremely brave for risking your lives for the defend--" Cas was cut off from his mediocre speech when he heard Mathieu's voice through his commlink, the Jedi raised his wrist comm to listen properly and promptly shook his head at Mat's terrible joke "Of all the things..." he whispered to himself before lowering his arm back to his side. Looking to his troops with a smile, he called out "Alright, troops! Load up your MEATs, we're gonna need 'em." he said wide-eyed, realising the poor phrasing he had made during his command.

Turning around to get a better look at his surroundings, Cas spotted a treeline at the end of the hilltop which gave him one of his rare bright ideas...

Objective: Make sure Starlin Rand Starlin Rand comes home safe. (Marketplace)

Syd understood that Starlin, inevitably, was going to come across a situation where she would not be around. That he would have to fight alone, against potentially hopeless odds. It was why she had not accompanied Starlin on his Jedi field expeditions in many places...the student had to be allowed to screw up without their master constantly breathing down their neck...plus, Syd was concerned taking him down her route too closely would inevitably lead him to a similar fate. So she let him broaden his horizons, learn to use what she had taught him in the real world, real conditions.

But Syd had fought the Bryn'adul before, on Yurb. She had seen their savagery, and knew that as much as she appreciated the need for Starlin to be his own man, he was NOT ready for a full scale slap fight like this, against an enemy like THEM.

It sucked too...Syd had been taking Laertia to one of her digs. Laertia had surprised her with her grasp of ancient technology that had been recovered. Afterward, alone on the ship, after everything had been categorized, she'd turned on the music, giving the pale knight a private belly dance...then the damn transmission had come from the Silver Rest just as the dance had been about to end with a kiss. She was needed elsewhere.

As soon as she learned her student's location, she and Laertia had ceased engaging in their mutual dalliance, hauled ass to the planet on her Starship, getting a sense of where he was as she flew through the air with the Force in her gold and navy blue chromium catsuit, weapon in hand. The SJC were turning this place into a giant mousetrap...Laertia had broken off to help the city defenders while Syd went to intercept and team up with Starlin.

At last, she sensed Starlin close by. He was on a carrier heading for the market place proper. She landed the moment it stopped, looking for him in the personnel that filed out

"Padawan..." she called out. Not harshly, but to catch his attention as she spoke with her arms folded.

"They are Rage...Brutal. Without Mercy..."

Syd's eyes glowed orange as she walked past her student a little to view the ships of the enemy, in the process of initial landings. They had to hit them fast and hard before they really get the wheels rolling.

"We...we will be worse. We 'must' be..." Syd trailed. "Rip and Tear...until it is Done...I swear, you and your side quests..." she joked darkly to him.

She wasn't angry. There was no point in being angry. There was only now. She could criticize him going into an active war zone for the first time without her later. Right now, she had to make sure he got to see his mother again...
