It's A Wonderful Life (Day)

Jyoti had long beaten Kira to Kachirho, wanting to spend some on her own at the beach. A site of several battles over time, the settlement held a special significance to her that only a handful of fellow transplants could appreciate. This had been where she had witnessed the Republic die.

She raked her fingers through the sand, soft and crumbly from the humidity. It wasn't too long ago that the very earth was corrupted by spirits of vengeful dead, emanating with its own nauseous taint as a reminder of wars long past. Now, after a series of exorcisms, it was just normal sand again. Good.

The whine of ion engines broke her from reflection and made her look up to the sky. It was one of those new fangled Comets speeding toward Kachirho. She smiled seeing it in action, knowing that Valae and Cassius were on board driving it down to deliver presents. All part of of the local festivities for Life Day. She took the event as her cue to leave the beach and go look for Kira.

Homing in on her apprentice's signature, she found her standing near the ornate Life Day tree holding a plaque. Along the way to Kira, she waved at Valae and Cassius, both dressed up for the occasion. Cassius was almost unrecognizable in his costume, Wyywoksi...something. Shyriiwook didn't exactly roll off the tongue. For her part, she had grabbed one of those new Life Day jumpers rolling out of the SEC factory ships. Ugly as sin, but comfy and warm.

"Hey you." she greeted, looking down at the blank plaque. "Thought of anything good to put down?"

A smile spread across her face as [member="Kiriko"] thoughtfully poured her a cup of hot cider.

“You’ve got yourself a deal!” She said with a soft laugh, and handed over the cookie half as promised.

Wrapping her hands around the warm cup, she finally felt the life returning to her fingers. After a quick sip, she felt the festive drink working to ward off the cold. “Ahhh,” She breathed a content sigh. “That’s much better, thank you.” She grinned at her furry companion.

Letting her gaze wander for a moment, she spotted [member="Jyoti Nooran"]. She watched as the Echani woman went to greet her apprentice, and offered a nod. Surely she would have to catch up with her tonight. But for the moment, she returned her eyes to Kiriko.

“So, tell me…” She took another sip of cider. “Are you settling in well here on Kashyyyk?”

Leah arrived right at the entrance to the festivity, her usually guard presence forgone in respect of the occasion and the fact that this place was a fools mission for an attack. Underneath her left arm she was carrying a woven wooden basket, from the top observers would be able to make out the shape of several hand-baked goods. Leah had brought Scones, a original recipe that origined from their family. She has made them plain, without any fruit or additions. However when she placed the goods down with the rest, she was seen taking some jam, whipped cream and a selection of berries out and placing them near the Scones. She then placed a knife for slicing the Scones on the table and nodded her head, satisfied.

A few seconds later Leah was gunning for the hot drinks, jam and cream covered scone in hand. She had brought several teabags with her too, she was going to keep them to herself though. One can never have too much tea. Finding a seat near the roaring fire without too much trouble, she took a seat and began to slowly sip from a Hot Chocolate- she needed to satiate the sweet tooth after all.

Leah was content to remain where she was, she would speak to anyone who approached, but she wanted to relax by the fire and be free from the more exciting activities, she did enough running about normally after all.

A little while after Leah arrived, a girl in a black dress, made of a thin black top and a long deep blue skirt, made a subtle entrance. She was quite new to the silver Jedi order, but had still received the invitation. Her black hair matched her dress, and fell a short ways past her shoulders, She had large hazel eyes, which at the moment looked brown. She strode past the entrance and walked around the outsides of the large crowds. She surveyed the drinks table, and, seeing one of her favorites, picked up a mug of hot chocolate. She then leaned against a tree and relaxed. she was a good ways from people. She felt it would be too much to jump in. She had no lightsaber, no master, no training, but was in the order now. She was happy, in this situation, to stay where she was.

The bear accepted the cookie with a smile.

Then he set it aside and motioned for the woman to join him. "I am Beorni and it is snowing, Master," Kiriko noted simply, in response to the question. It was a way of suggesting that he had everything that he needed.

"But, what of you?" the Beorni asked. "You've kept busy. Mirial. Kashyyyk. Balamak," the bear noted, naming off each world in turn where the Silver Jedi had worked their hardest. And it seemed their hardest was required quite a lot lately. "I've heard some talk about Randon as well."

"I hope that you are doing well, and not Jedi'ing yourself into an early grave," the bear offered.

Relaxing his head back a moment, the Beorni seemed to close his eyes and enjoy the cold winter breeze.

Too weird to live, too rare to die!
How appropriate to be reawakened shortly before Life Day. If the reawakening had not been quite so... fraught, or bittersweet, Solari would almost be enjoying herself.

She had at least managed to keep in character - Life Day celebrations had not changed that much in eight hundred years, and her extensive cultural background allowed her to... well... look a little like a glowing Life Day Tree wearing Jedi Robes, given the considerable amount of brilliantly coloured lights she had wired into her aux-power. The Iron Knight could be seen from some distance off to say the least.

She'd been warned there might be... unique individuals here, the Silver Jedi Order was not the Jedi Order of her youth, Cassius had made that quite clear in his briefing on the trip back. Which was good, because the Jedi Order of her Childhood had declared her and her master excommunicate. But still, there was at least one radiant source of the dark side somewhere in this gathering of light and joy - and not a terribly happy one, at that. Given recent events, that didn't exactly fill her with a world of joy - there was one source of the dark side she would really rather was here, given the chance.

None of this reached the droids face, of course, deactivating those receptors was easy - as a consequence, nothing but a serene smile was projected to the world, even as the crystal within the robot body wondered if she'd really done the right thing by coming to this celebration. She'd thought it might return some of her balance and joy in life, but right now, it was a party full of strangers, and the normally gregarious Solari wasn't really feeling up to dealing with culture and time shock.

The small crowd of Wookie children who surrounded the brightly glowing apparition did distract her and bring a genuine smile to her face, ever since she'd discovered the concept of carbon-based lifeforms having children she'd been quite enthralled by them, but had made an error in not bringing any gifts for them. Still, she was certainly strong enough that she could continue to walk even with one extremely adventurous one using her arm as a climbing frame.

"Now, now." She chided her gently. "I'm not a droid, and I'm not for climbing on. Look - those people over there have cookies." She gestured to a familiar ursine figure. "Why don't you go get some from them?"

With a warm smile, Valae was happy to join [member="Kiriko"]. As he mentioned that it was snowing, she took a glance out at the Kaskyyyk landscape. Indeed it was chilly, but the sight of snowfall was quite lovely. She mused that her furry friend must be quite at home right now. Her brows arched thoughtfully as he addressed her.

“Mmhmm, I’ve been keeping busy, that’s for sure.” She said with a content nod. “We all have.”

Of course, there were highly stressful times. There had been many late nights, some that had been spent tearfully. But all of the effort was worth it for the sake of the Order. At least, that’s what she told herself each day. However, there were some things that were never easy.

“I am doing well though--” She said, but her voice trailed off.

It was then that she realized just what was happening here. Valae’s eyes softened at the sight of the white bear, his eyes closed peacefully. The Grandmaster felt her eyes go misty, but she mustered a tiny smile. Noticing an unfamiliar presence on approach, Valae shifted away for a moment to dab the corners of her eyes quickly with the edge of her sleeve.

“I hope you are well now, too.” She said, nodding. “I am so touched that you could be here with us today. It means quite a lot.”

It meant much more than he would know.

The droid's gaze focused on [member="Kiriko"] for long moments, then her hand shot out with inhuman speed and she stopped the small child she had just directed to them.

"Not now, little shard." She said, her command of Basic slipping slightly as emotions that were still alien to the silicon life form within the shell of a droid boiled up.

This was so hard. The sight of a droid biting it's lip might perhaps be one of the more humorous things seen that evening, were the clinical gaze of her photoreceptors not so intently serious - and scarily lifelike in their inhumanity.

She absently reached up to undo her robes, letting them slip down to reveal the glittering silver of her back, almost without noticing.

Then the droids eyes went blank, unliving, the body went still as a statue and a series of low hums and rumbles preceded the spine of the droid splitting open, on both sides and a large portal irising open. A 30-odd centimetre glowing blue crystal levitated out of shell it previously occupied and, bobbing a little as it gained focus on the telekinetic lift holding it's immobile form in the air, floated over towards [member="Valae Kitra"] and [member="Kiriko"] - if a crystal can be said to have a focus of attention (which it can, if you can sense the force, otherwise it's just a floating crystal) it was clearly on [member="Kiriko"].

"It is a pleasant evening for it, friend." The small vocoder wired to the crystal said in the same feminine voice the droid spoke with.

Solari didn't know what else to say, under the circumstances. Death was... so familiar, yet so alien a concept to it. It struggled to deal with it on an intellectual and emotional level.

“Whipped cream or Marshmallows?”

Asaraa had been drifting around the edge of the party while she waited for her friends to arrive, the arrival of Cassius had been worth a few laughs and she’d be sure to tease the other Padawan about it later. But for right now, there was a buffet table laden with food to sample, at least that had been her plan before she saw the woman standing off by herself nursing a hot chocolate.

“I always prefer mine with whipped cream, but I know a lot of people prefer it with Marshmallows. To be fair, I prefer caf normally but on a day like this...nothing beats a good hot chocolate.”

"I prefer neither."
She raised an eyebrow at the out-of-the-blue comment, but looked more amused instead of annoyed by the sudden intrusion.
"By the way, I'm Ashla, and you?"

The Togruta took a long sip of her drink, sighing with pleasure as the warm liquid slipped down her throat, the warmth settling into the pit of her stomach before she grinned at the woman. "Asaraa, Asaraa Vaashe," she introduced herself holding out one red skinned hand.

Natassia simply sat at the seaside, the sounds of the festivities in Kachirho reminding her that times had changed. And she was most definitively glad for it.
She never truly joined the Silver Jedi Order: merely assisted them until they would be out of harm's reach. And now that they had moved to Kashykk, it seemed that both the Galactic Empire and the Sith Empire would be turning their gaze away from them: the Sith were like vultures circling over the festering Galactic Alliance, and the Imperials were now in an open war with the Confederation of Independent Systems. A pang of guilt shot in her gut at the thought of Sierra Squad being mowed down by an unending tide of droids, but it was well too late for her to turn back now. She had sacrificed a promising career and a chance to achieve her dream of being a General, but in the end, it was worth it. To know that the Jedi would live on: to know that, if the stars allowed it, they would turn away from militant action and to focus on relief for the populations of the galaxy's many, many worlds.

She knew that she did not belong here. Even now, she wore her peacekeeping armor, save for the helmet that rested in the sand next to her. She could feel herself withering away day after day, and it was just a question of time before she would give in to her own vices. And when she would, she hoped she'd be as far away from Kashykk as possible.
But the ocean... the ocean felt good. Calm and mysterious, mesmerizing to her. It was mostly why she remained here, on the beach: because the sea lulled her to sleep, figuratively speaking. Tentatively reaching her arm forward, she took a handful of wet sand in her mechanical hand, saddened at the reduced feelings going through. Natassia could not feel it as a human would: her arm only transmitted what composed the sand itself.
Shaking her head, she took her helmet and attached it to her belt, standing back up and inhaling deeply.

At least, she'd look around the festivities for a bit. Get a feel of the Silver's morale.

She took the hand with a free hand and said "Pleasure."

Asaraa grinned at the other girl, "Likewise." She wrapped her fingers around her hot chocolate, taking a long sip of the drink. "I don't think I've seen you around here before, new arrival?"

"As new as you can get." Ashla said, laughing slightly

Asaraa Vaashe said:
"Well then," Asaraa raised her mug in Ashla's direction, "Welcome to the Order of Silver Jedi."

[member="Ashla Marlar"]
"Thanks." Ashla says, raising her own cup slightly, "Also, this is a fun party."

Asaraa Vaashe said:
The Togruta grinned, her white teeth flashing at Ashla, "Well, we do throw pretty great parties," she allowed with a laugh.

She gave a little laugh and leaned against the tree.
