Sam Paige
*CLANK*
The awakward pat pat was enough to signal to Sam that now was the time to knock it off and she stepped back, embarrassed. But the comment by [member="Tegan Katarn"] was enough to bring a shy smile back to her face and she nodded. At some point during the hug, Sam's eyes had started to fill with tears, and she reached up, fist pushing her glasses up as she rubbed with the back of her hands.
"N-not a word."
Tegan's reputation was safe with Sam.
The two threaded through the streets, up a level and back in the direction of the Messenger. If Sam walked a little too close to Tegan, well, that could be expected considering what had happened. At least, due to her habit of looking at her feet while she walked, she didn't step on Tegan's toes or heels as they made their way back to relative safety in the eyes of the mechanic.
It would all come out, once they were there. In the engine room, the place Sam most clearly called 'hers'. The tears were useful, the outpouring necessary. And having someone there to listen, who actually listened? That made all the difference.
