Jedi Militant, Order of the White Flame [idea brainstorm]

[member="Jeela Tillian"]
Indeed. Jeela sounds cool. I think she and Au'Rus could become friends. Au'Rus is probably a very flawed Jedi and with this pledge of war against the dark she'll live a painful and tiring life. Perhaps Jeela could be there to heal her up with times become rough.

Corey's OOC

And where were the spiders
Okay. So, I see whats going on here.
But.

I guess I'm kind of looking at my sliding scale of Force-ness.

When does it become Dark to go, y'know, militant with the Force and become hunter killers? And why not just go dark, but fight for a 'righteous' (if crazy because Dark4Lyfe) cause.

Honest question.

A good question.

Firstly, this idea is based off of the Pius Dea and to a smaller extent the Jedi Armies of the Clone Wars. Consider those of the Order of the White Flame as more militant Jedi Guardians. Those of this group use the Light Side for actions the Order of the Republic would find heretical - this being using the Light Side as a weapon, arranging Jedi into a military fashion, using the Jedi as a means to control warfare operations.

What makes us "not" slip into Darkness is discipline. You fight for the Light, even though you are aggressive and militant, you are not power hungry or narcissistic about power. Much like the Army of the Light, militant Jedi are just Jedi who prefer war as a means of protecting and purifying. Think Templars or Teutonic Knights.

Btw what does the current Grand Master [member="Corvus Raaf"] make of this? I would very much like to do a thread where Au'Rus schisms from the orthodoxy of the Republic Order. Would make a good personal/group origin story thread.

This sounds like Ceska in a nutshell, the heretical Guardian, inspired by Hoth's army.

So I am going to do the first thread to kick-start this idea. It will be Au'Rus at Ruusan Temples and hopefully if other major Jedi like [member="Corvus Raaf"] are around I can work out her founding logic and begin her schism. Then we can RP meeting you guys and forming a group.

That being said you are free to jump in and get acquainted with Au'Rus.

I don't know why your earlier mention didn't reach me, but regardless your second one did. And I've done that dangerous thing of speed-reading this entire thread so...

Funnily enough I just started a thread on Ruusan as we're looking to rebuild the Academy there - so Corvus has a good reason to be on the planet. And I'm more than happy to play a part in the birth of this movement away from the Order. Just let me know when and where and I'll play my part...

OH I like the SJO. But I doubt they would like a heretic like Au'Rus with all her a THE LIGHTSIDE WILLS IT! Crusader talk.

I had the idea actually that in creating the OWF Au'Rus travels around to different Jedi Orders to preach her ideals and to also just study other Orders.

OH EXCELLENT! http://starwarsrp.net/topic/53906-knights-of-the-light-white-flame-origins/#entry808799here is the thread. I think if there is to be any movement started by any Jedi, I'd love for its origin to have a philosophical debate with the current Grand Master!

the OWF, is more of a militant movement, than any revolutionary force. The OWF do not want to change the Jedi Orders or convert others or tamper in any way what other Jedi practice. The OWF is an outlet for those who feel that the Force demands that we conduct far more aggressive attitudes towards fighting the darkness.

In short they are a band of heretics who believe that the Light Side demands that the galaxy be purified.

Thanks for answering that :)

Another question: Dark Side users. If a Dark Jedi wants to join this, will they be permitted to become one of the militants? Or is this a strictly Light Side faction that does not tolerate the DS among its members?

[member="Darth Veles"]
It really depends on the person.

The faction is orientated to Light Siders but, a Dark Jedi could join the militant, perhaps as a repentance or pursuit of mastering both the Dark and Light. It all depends, but true Dark Siders would probably not be welcomed. (I try to be inclusive but the premise of this group kinda works against it >_<).

If I may, I'd advice against taking in Dark Siders; it is one of the problems I have with almost all Jedi factions. They all claim to follow the Light Side and use the necessity of fighting against the DS as an argument of fighting against the OS, yet they allow Dark Side users among their own. To me, it seems silly and kills the identity of a faction imho. If a "Light Side" Jedi faction has members that are fallen/Dark Jedi, then the argument of fighting against the darkness falls flat to me.

Please do not take it as a critique of your idea; it is just an advice of making the faction more unique that the other Jedi groups that are filled with Dark Side users.

Hmm. I just have to figure out a reason Jeela would be on Ruusan.
The Silver Jedi are part of the Jedi Academy Network, so visiting any of the Academies has a degree of logic to it. Perhaps you have some ideas on its redesign, or want to see what TJO are doing so you can take an idea back. Or need to ask Corvus something?
