[JEDI] Summit of the Jedi Leaders

The time was coming close when a more closed door, focused discussion was to be had. Coren Starchaser was recognizing that and as the primary discussion wound down in the Gathering, he made a call out to some of the leaders. The call was simple.

Another meeting was being held before the ending of the weekend. Jedi leaders and their trusted advisors were welcome to have a discussion furthering the point they were making previously. That of a Jedi Grand Council. A group made of the leaders and representatives of other groups, to keep information flowing freely, to show to the galaxy, once and for all, the Jedi were one group. Yes, there may be sects which may not always agree, the collapsed New Jedi Order of the Alliance and the Republic Jedi, for instances, but the time for a united face to the galaxy as now.

The darkness was still out there, and the Sith were organized. He knew the Ren were always looking to take a chunk of the team that was founded on discussions of freedom. And the Jedi were, as famously said, not soldiers, but they were defenders. And that was the least they needed to be. Various groups of Jedi worked to further the Light, but may work on different paths. Some working in the guise of the New Jedi Order of the Alliance, others working with the Confederacy, more who worked to bring about the cause of diplomacy, and knowledge to the galaxy at large.

The room was set aside, and even Starchaser himself was standing in a more formal outfit for himself, that of Jedi robes, black, denoting himself as a Master, but with his own spin. The Jedi had as much training form Aing-Tii as he had from Jedi, thankful to time in the Kathol Rift being… broke. But he still held his pistol and lightsaber on his hip, a call out to two of his major instructors, Jorus Merrill and Omai Rhen.

“Welcome. I feel this may help focus our discussion. I hope the gathering has been well for you all?” He would greet.

[This thread is restricted to Jedi organizational leaders or representatives. If you are one of the movers and shakers, or can provide strong support you would be brought in ((I.E. Master with years of experience, or again, leading one of the organizations)) please consider yourself welcome! If you have questions, reach me here or on Discord]

They had a rough draft of a Jedi alliance, as discussed by the conclave hosted by Master [member="Coren Starchaser"]. Each had been allowed to lend their voice to it, and while some were against the notion of being dragged into war with the Sith the majority seemed to be on board. In Thurion's case, he felt the time for petty squabbles and debates over past events - some of which going as far back as to the Republic days - were beneath their kind. Jedi are supposed to stand up for the common man, to protect the innocent against darkside forces; it's what he's been taught all throughout his padawan training, and it's been the sole focus of his all his life. Granted, his want for the Jedi to finally come together and strike back against the Sith was also fueled by the latter creeping ever-closer towards Midvinter. He dreaded the day when the full might of the Sith Empire would bare down upon his people, for he knew they would all choose to fight to the bitter end. There would be no survivors.

Stepping inside the chamber with Coci on his arm, the two had had the chance to take some time to themselves following the initial gathering and explore their surroundings, going for long walks and for once not having to devote their thoughts to the worries of the world. It had been many years since they'd both left Midvinter together, so they were determined to make the most of it. "Coren," he approached their gracious host with a fond smile, shaking the man's hand with the other placed upon his shoulder. "You did well handling the larger meeting, old friend. It would seem we are closer than ever to establish an alliance between all Jedi. We mustn't stumble now."

He found a seat and saved another for his wife, draping his fur cloak over the back of his chair. He did not bring it for its warmth, but rather the idea that he represented the people of Midvinter while Coci represented the Dawnguard. He'd even been handed a gold brooch by his older brother to pin to his chest, denoting him as someone who speaks on the High King's behalf.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

Tiland sat in the chair, legs crossed beneath him and his staff balanced across his knees. Coren was here. Thurion was here. Coren he had known for some time with his work in the Outer Rim and the Alliance. Thurion, he had heard much spoken of, but did not believe had ever met. The old Anzati found this unfortunate, for by all accounts, Thurion was a great Jedi. One of the great Grandmasters of the Silver Jedi, if he understood correctly, and a member of a world's ruling class.

The contrast amused him. A smile flickered beneath his beard and his fingers tapped lightly on the polished wood of the quarterstaff. In many ways, they were opposites. Royalty, political leaders, military commanders. All Jedi, each with their own path, and then there was Tiland, founder of a very small and esoteric group that called themselves the Circle of the Light Hand. Itinerant monks who carried neither weapon nor badge of office. Indeed, Tiland still wore the same robes that he always did. Stained, threadbare, and coarse.

Yet in the eyes of the Force, they were all equal. All would sit on this council and help lead the Jedi back to the path of unity that they had lost. Insidious were the machinations of the Dark Side and Tiland was convinced that this was one such result. It had driven wedges amongst their numbers, isolating and driving them apart from each other.

Perhaps now that was to be changed.

If Coren felt odd being dressed for the occasion it was nothing compared to the oddity of thought going through Kira’s head as she stood waiting for the meeting to begin. A black robe sat open over white undershirt, lightsaber tucked into her belt, yet on display for she was no longer shunning away this idea that she was a Jedi. No she was a master, no matter how wrong it sounded.

She came up behind [member="Coren Starchaser"], pausing for another who she had not met before to speak with the Jedi Master, before falling in alongside him and offering him a side glance and slight smirk. “Thank the force I wasn't the only one who came in fancy dress. You look as stupid as I feel.” She muttered, making sure he took it as a joke. “You’ve done it though. You got them all together.” She looked around at all the others in the area, members of various orders and practices across the galaxy. It was a miracle that they had even come, let alone willing to listen and discuss. “Now, you get them to agree and I’ll give you ten credits, don’t start a galactic war and I’ll give you twenty.”

She left him at that, smirking back to the Jedi as she took a seat nearby her fingers giving away the fact that she wasn’t as calm as she appeared.

Among the prominent names and faces of recognized Jedi from all corners of the Galaxy, Veiere Arenais had been asked to attend the second meeting that had been reserved for those who had a voice and represented their specific organizations or branches of the Galactic Order. Since the larger conclave, much had changed and Veiere was no longer responsible nor in a position to speak on Commenor's behalf. He had entered into the fold with the Silver Jedi Order, yet he wasn't a member of significance there either, he had fallen back upon his old beloved role as a teacher; However it was [member="Coren Starchaser"] who had called for him to be among the attendees, and he who had encouraged Veiere out of his personal exile to begin with.

Standing there within his Jedi Apparel, no longer the image of a politician (Thank the Force!), Veiere smiled as he looked to the familiar faces of the room, knowing them all on a first name basis which came as a welcome surprise. [member="Kira Vaal"] and [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] acknowledged Coren's recent achievements, to which Veiere nodded in agreement, though he for the most part remained more reserved much alike [member="Tiland Kortun"], who he had met through the Church of the Force, long ago now. Unfortunately the two had also met during a time of war between the First Order and the Galactic Alliance where they shared a cup of tea and discussed their differences of opinion back then, where Veiere had become dangerously influenced by the Dark-Side of the Force, become someone he was not at heart and someone that he was glad to be rid of today.

His Padawan [member="Loreena Arenais"] would not be present during this meeting, for the reason of the room's purpose. She was young and had a long way to come in her training yet, and while the scene would have been educational and perhaps an inspiration for her to help make her feel at home with the Jedi, there was a time and a place, and this was a meeting of professionalism, baring a much more official tone than the last meet & greet.

The turn around the gardens after the initial gathering had been nice and it had cleared her mind. Much had already been established and the next meeting was to further that still and make this agenda more concrete. Coren she knew of course and as she entered the room with Thurion, she smiled to him and gave him a wink her way of saying 'well done'. This was also going to be an opportunity to meet other leaders of the Jedi groups that she had only heard of by reputation and over the course of this gathering she hoped to speak with them all, if time permitted.

But there was someone in the room she wanted to say hello to most dearly before the meeting began. With a loving smile to Thurion she let go of his arm and approached [member="Veiere Arenais"], someone she had not seen in years. The turmoil of Commenor was not a secret but his life in the process was to her and she wondered how he was since they last met back on Voss. He looked older, something in his face apart from the lines of life told her he had suffered a great deal from that time to this and she approached him with a smile and her hand extended.

"Well now, hello Master Arenais", she said simply, there was not going to be time to engage in a more lengthy conversation at this point. "It is good to see you again". Near by was another Jedi master sitting on the floor with a staff over his legs, Coci offered a bow of respect to [member="Tiland Kortun"], "Greetings Master", and made a note to speak to him later, he intrigued her greatly.

"We must catch up after this is over Veiere". She rested her hand on shoulder as they both turned ready for the meeting to begin.

The gathering outside had been interesting enough, Asaraa had honestly never seen so many Jedi from all corners of the Galaxy meeting in the same place, while she was used to the gatherings on Kashyyyk this had a different feel to it. It had been nice to meet up with some friends but, honestly, it had been seeing all these masters, names she'd only ever heard of in stories in the same place that had proven more overwhelming to the young Jedi. These were the people who younglings grew up hearing about, the people she'd grown up hearing about. Now she was in the same room as them, and honestly, it was all just a little overwhelming to the pink-haired knight who was sure she was the youngest, most junior member present but she was simply here she realised as she pressed her back into the wall, but she knew she was here to assist Master [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] representing the Order of Silver Jedi at the meeting and to represent the younger Jedi around the galaxy.

Taking a deep breath Asaraa let it out, touching those elements of meditation which her masters had taught her, releasing the breath and her nervous feelings along with it...or not. Her blue eyes flicked open and glanced around the room as she sighed, nope it was still as intimidating as before but then...she'd never let that stop her before, so she didn't plan to start now. Steeling herself Asaraa pushed away from the wall, padding across the room to stand next too Master Arenais. While she'd been as nervous of him as any of the others not all that long ago the Master had been around Kashyyyk for a while now and she had a studied enough with him to have gotten over that concern. "Mind if I just stand here and you know talk to someone I know?" Asaraa grinned at the man, her voice barely a whisper as she nodded at the occupants of the room, "All of them, they seem to know one another already and you know, it's a little intimidating."

The Jedi were evolving, any organization that could measure its existence in millennia were bound to not be a perfect organization. Schisms occurred, sects were created. Some leaders would find a ‘better’ way to do things, and others would follow. It was what occurred in the past, from legends to through until the modern day. Sure, the Jedi thought they were following in someone’s footsteps. Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Skywalker, Tel Angor, Kyp Durron, all of these had groups who followed them, but they all came back to center eventually. Angor’s group fell in line with the Jedi Order of the Grand Republic, changing the organization slightly. Durron and his followers came back to Skywalker to fight the conflict of that time.

And even in the modern era, found Corvus Raaf and the Republic Jedi, and that was different from the Levantine Sanctum’s Jedi, lead by various people. Follow that up with the birth of the Silvers behind the Heavenshields and the New Jedi Order lead by Omai Rhen, and that mantle fell to Starchaser. Still others, in the New Republic, Commenor, Church of the Force… All up until Endgame, the events of the collapse of the Galactic Alliance. Something changed then, and it was for the better.

The Jedi were supporting one another. Working together rather than letting their differences split them from one another, they were realizing that they had more in common with each other, and that strength could outweigh an differences. The Silvers and Shattered Orders were working hand in hand to teach and serve the galaxy. Using the Jedi Academy Network and the Jedi Praxeum as examples, it was helping to bury the hatchet, as it were.

The Jedi were not some game of thrones, they were one team, with different approaches to the same vision. And the Gathering was proving they were here to work together. What he had before him were other Masters and leaders, who had a similar vision of the Jedi to his own. He was not here seeking to found some new, overarching Order. No, he was here to see if it could become more official for the Jedi to work with one another again. The fact that they were all together had to be some act of the Force.

“The intent is not to stumble, but its also not to dictate one man’s vision, especially one who has no set temple or home. But after the discussion at the start of this gathering, I felt it only prudent and necessary to get the leaders to speak together. Voice concerns of the groups of Jedi out there, and see if we can reach some discussion. Some sort of unity, while allowing for movement in our chosen direction. You can’t force a scholar to take up arms any more than you can make a protector put down their weapon if there is still a taint of the dark side.

“So, I am putting it to you, all the gathered. What do we feel can happen? I know the tired discussions, but this, what we’re up against now, with the Sith Empire, with the First Order, is something else. We have all fought and learned, side by each. I would like to continue this, and find a way to prevent further schisms in the Jedi, or allow for sects to be created, but to cement that it is more an aspect of what it means to be a Jedi, not the be all, end all of what a Jedi is.”

The Corellian Master took a second, making eye contact with the gathered, before waving his hand to push his matter to the ones at the table.

Tellu ended up being late, she managed time before her departure to Hoylin. After Eshan, Hoylin felt like it would be an easy enough assignment. She was glad that a second meeting had been arranged, Tellu arrived quietly dressed in a simple blue and white robe with the small Sacred Lotus emblem embedded above the left breast. A white tunic beneath the robe, as she leaned on her staff for support, sleep had escaped her in the last seventy-two hours between Eshan and now on her way to another assignment, The Viceroy and teacher quietly slipped in behind a few people just as [member="Coren Starchaser"] spoke about intent and not dictating vision. "Excuse me," she whispered to one person as she found purchase against a wall.

Leaning against it, her white hair unfurled, splitting between the fore and back of her shoulders. Admittedly she didn't consider herself to be a Jedi, but rather, a light-leaning Force master who had seen and dealt with the hardships of the galaxy. Even now, she felt she must have brought some of the horrors of Eshan with her. Clothing while clean and neat, were frayed, edges worn her staff bore the stress of the planet. Soot covered with a weakened top but yet it held somehow. For now she decided to keep silent and listen, to hear what the other masters had to say.

Thurion quietly sat and watched as one by one people began to appear, and before long there was some brief small talk going on. Until their host Coren spoke, that is, gathering everyone to his table and heed his word. Admittedly, the majority of those present were unknown to Thurion, but if this alliance was to be set in motion he had no illusion they would remain strangers for very long. In fact, he would sure that was the case. Starting now.

"Master Starchaser," he rose from his seat and offered the man a respectful nod of his head before turning to the others. "I would like to apologise to some of you, that we have not met or spoken sooner. I do recognise a few faces - Veiere, of course," he gestured towards the former King of Commenor and smiled. "I am Thurion Heavenshield. In our younger days, me and my wife here beside me," he settled a hand upon her shoulder where she sat, "led the Silver Jedi as Grandmaster and Master of the Order respectively. After many years, we chose to step down and let the younger generation dictate the future of the Order. Such as yourself, Knight [member="Asaraa Vaashe"]," he bowed his head to the young woman in respect, "and Grandmaster [member="Jyoti Nooran"], who I have only met in passing."

Thurion reached for his glass of water, only to misjudge its exact whereabouts and having to adjust his aim due to lack of depth perception. He'd gotten better at it, but still it presented a daily challenge. "Pardon me, parched throat," he emptied it in but a few *gulps*. He was used to them being bigger.

"One month ago, I became a grandfather," he continued, carefully putting the glass back down. "I pray that at least some of you will know what that feels like, one day. It has made me realise all the more that until my time is done, I must do what I can to make sure my granddaughter still has a home and a people to call her own growing up. A day will come when war is declared and the Sith Empire brings their full might baring down on us. We will fight bravely and bitterly to the end, and Midvinter will be no more."

He slumped back into his chair. "Being here today, seeing you all... It gives hope to this old man's heart, and I salute each and everyone of you. I just wanted you to know before we begin, so... Thank you." Under the table his hand found Coci's, finding strength in her just being there. She always had been, and there was no doubt she always would be.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] | [member="Coci Heavenshield"] | [member="Tiland Kortun"] | [member="Tellu Talon"] | [member="Veiere Arenais"] | [member="Kira Vaal"]

Veiere Arenais couldn't help but feel singled out, though not at all in a negative light but it appeared as though he knew almost everyone there, and had somehow worked alongside them or affected their lives in some way, shape or form. First to approach was his old, and still long-time friend [member="Coci Heavenshield"] who had helped him with the support of her Husband [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] during a time of great struggle in his life, offering shelter within the Silver Jedi Order Temple on Voss so long ago. It had been his first encounter with the Silver Jedi, though he had approached Coci out of word and affiliation with her Son, Théodred. The youngest of the Heavenshields had met with him upon the World of Alzoc Three, and set into motion Veiere's return to the Galactic stage and incidentally, his meeting [member="Kay Arenais"].

"It's been far too long, Coci" Veiere met her hand with his right, his left placed upon the side of her shoulder in a friendly greeting; "Yes, we're well overdue for a catch up" he chuckled softly, speaking just as so, not wanting to throw off the nature of this meeting. "To see you and Thurion here, gives me hope" he added, looking across to her Husband and offering the man a nod of his head in respect.

Veiere and his family had touched the lives of many, through their service to Commenor. Though not always in a positive light according to social media lately, it was thanks to [member="Caedyn Arenais"] that Veiere found himself bumping into [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] who seemed to be seeking a familiar face to feel comfortable in their being here today. "You don't need to feel shy here, Asaraa" Veiere sought to reassure her, not certain if that was truly the case though if it were, he wished to give the young woman a sense of purpose and remind her of how far she had come and all that she had experienced within the Silver Jedi Order. When they had met, Veiere had been on the outside, and only very recently had he been accepted into the Silver Jedi's temple on Kashyyyk, yet Asaraa was family through her partnership with Caedyn and Veiere hoped that as well as her friendship, it might have a positive influence on his decaying relationship with his Son whom resented him so. "For someone so young as yourself, it's quite a feat to be recognized and among those attending today's meeting. Trust in your experience, and in yourself" he placed a hand atop her shoulder encouragingly, soon to turn and look upon [member="Coren Starchaser"] as he began to address the room.

Thurion would follow suit, and saw fit to extend Veiere's name in greeting. It had been unexpected, though Veiere chuckled to himself silently, nodding once more to the long time Master and founder of the Silver Jedi Order. Coren had reminded them that they were not here to discourage individuality across the many Jedi Organizations, and Veiere understood his reasons. Thurion on the other hand spoke of his Granddaughter, family also being something that Veiere could relate to.

"I will say this..." Veiere took his turn to speak, having considered remaining silent though something seemed to provoke him into going against his better judgement, "All of us here can appreciate the needs of our respective branches of the Galactic Order" he made an inclusive gesture in order to emphasis the choice of the worlds Galactic Order, a loose term to describe all Jedi across the Galaxy. "But in the absence of the majority, I feel we can appreciate moving forward from discussions that would endlessly repeat themselves. We all know why we're here, the needs of the Galaxy and the growing presence of the Dark-Side". It seemed best to get the elephant in the room well out of the way, for he didn't wish to see another meeting being wasted on the same discussion being argued in favor, spoken numerous ways across each mouth that sought to have their voices heard. Due respect to all that were standing in the room, now was the time for progress.

[member="Tellu Talon"] | [member="Kira Vaal"]

Tiland watched and listened as the others filed in and prepared themselves for what was to come. In front of him, a small heater boiled water while he kept an eye on the events of the meeting. So far, little had happened, but such was the way of things. Things took quite a while to get rolling, especially when Jedi were around. One spoke to him briefly and he gave her a warm smile and nod of his head. "Indeed, greetings, young Heavenshield." He had never met [member="Coci Heavenshield"], but her reputation preceded her.

"Indeed, young Master Veiere," Tiland said, a smile twitching beneath his beard at the sight of his old friend. "You are correct. The Circle which I represent has little in the way of resources or safe-houses, but we can get in and out of Sith space with little difficulty." His face grew grave as he eyed them. "Do we know of Jedi holdouts hidden in Sith territory in need of assistance?"

He set the staff beside him and clasped his knuckles together. "Or other refugees. We can get in and escort them out, but we will need a way to get them to your respective territories for their safety."

A hand traced briefly through his bead. "Perhaps we could set up a communications system across the galaxy. Or a network of Jedi strong enough to send messages to each other through the Force. Beacons, in a way."

Coci moved from her chair to stand and speak now that the meeting was underway and pushing forward with the agenda. "Coren is right, the time is now to change. For many years the Jedi have been viewed as displaced and for the most part that view was correct, and because of it, it was a weakness. But like all good warriors, whether they are warriors of the fight or knowledge or healers or protectors, we must turn that weakness into a strength. Which I believe we are on the path of doing by coming here, we all recognise that now".

She looked around all that were present in the room, "All Jedi factions and groups no matter their size or what their philosophy is have something to strengthen the whole by providing what they do best, offering their strength to the wider community of Jedi. We need to find a way to harness this, pull it together under an umbrella .. this proposal to form a high council could be that umbrella". Coci turned to Coren wanting an understanding of what and how this council would work.

"I understand that this high council would seat leading members of each group of Jedi, but what will be their authority?, I don't believe you wish this high council to interfere with operations within each group, but what form does this high council take at the top of the Jedi". In a sense this meeting was the turning of the soil to establish a new foundation for something upon which something great could grow. And the light side of the force needed it as well as the greater galaxy.

But there is nothing worse than a toothless tiger, and she hoped that through these talks that that would not be the case. Would the Jedi groups and factions adhere to any ruling of a high council? Time would reveal that, but she knew the beginnings of a change had started now.

"May I make a suggestion?" Tellu spoke up from the back, her staff leaned forward as she took a step toward the Heavenshields. She greeted each one there with a smile, although it masked the pain she bore from Eshan. Straightening her shoulders she pulled silver-white hair toward one shoulder as dull ice blue eyes surveyed the group. "I am Master Tellu Talon, Viceroy of Monastery and face of the Sacred Lotus." Many here did to know her but they knew the Lotus, they knew Monastery and that is what mattered here. "We are masters, we are teachers, mentors and leaders and as the Heavenshields," she gestured toward Coci, "have pointed out we all have something to bring."

"And you are correct we need not interfere with one another's orders, however; I believe we can seek each other out for counsel." More than that she thought as her voice grew in strength and confidence, "more than that this council can offer knowledge. Not just for one another, but for our students, for the greater of all Jedi, for the betterment of the light."

"This High Council should be here to help educate, to help protect and coordinate efforts. We've seen that there are a vast network of academies, orders and lightsided groups. Now we must pull together, and teach one another, seek first to understand before being understood." Her words stopped there if only momentarily, "A long time ago the Jedi, when they were great in number offered a diverse teaching. So too can we do this once more, let our enclaves join together in knowledge through us. Let us set the example, and the tone, let us come to aid one another, let us come to coordinate with one another. Should there be a decision you find too difficult to make on your own, a question that weighs upon your heart so heavily you need more guidance..."

"Come to this High Council, let it be with us as representatives of our orders to guide, strengthen and heal each other. For we are stronger together, than we are alone - we can be more than just the Order of the Sacred Lotus, more than just the Dawnguard or the Silver Jedi... " The vivid memories of Eshan tore through her mind, just as the eyes of her wife and daughter seared themselves in her heart. There could be light in the Galaxy once again. They needed to have faith, they needed to be the pillars of faith and belief. To know that the Force lived in all things, it moved through all things and they could unite the light. They need only to look at one another, see each other's reflections within the other's eyes. "We can be the Jedi Order once again, to quote Master Starchaser... It is not what a Jedi is, but what it means to be a Jedi. The beauty of this lies within each of us represented here, although we may be so different in our views and interpertations, we are so much more alike than we know."

"When the Sith come for one, they come for all. When devastation strikes one of us, we will not only lift each other up we will move forward, together. We will honor each other and celebrate what makes us different and unique." Tellu then looked around again, "thank you."

Kira had been quiet. So far the meeting had allowed each to speak in turn, not raised voices of concern or point making, but cooperative and calm speech that actually resembled something positive and constructive.

She listened and she agreed, she saw potential in what they were all saying and saw promise that these different groups, Jedi all no matter how they spelt or said it, were willing to work together to form a cohesive goal for the greater good. However it did not ease concern in her heart also.

What did she have that she could bring to the table? An independent view from a Jedi who had acted more as a force upon herself never truly attached to any order outside the rebel movements against the Imperialistic holdings of various governments both established and collapsed? She gave a thought to the texts, the collection of scrolls and books that [member="Arcanus Sunstrider"] and her had managed to gather and then save from the ill-fated order on Gilderaan. Could she offer them? Could she give them to the orders in general to allow the knowledge to be passed around and hopefully shared? It was plausible, but they were not only hers to choose what to do with. She gave a silent musing to her old friend and wished he was also here.

Yet the conversation had nearly come full circle around the room and each had given points. Kira ran her nails across her knees, did she have anything to say? Yes, lots. She looked across the room, taking in those around. She had to put an opinion down on the side that was once the most militant Jedi Order, the ones who took the fight deep into the heart of the One Sith and tore it’s heart out, but she remained silent.

For now.

Josh had been responsible for the Silver Jedi Order's cooperation in hearing out the terms of this "Jedi Alliance". He had chosen himself, but by what he knew of the Order's interests, and with several other SJO reps being around without declining... He was sure there wouldn't be an issue. If there was, well, they could cross that bridge when they got there. And when they got more information on this whole thing. A "Jedi Grand Council" also appeared to be in the talks, which he supposed he'd need to find out a bit more about. It could go well... It could go bad. He was prepared for either possibility.

Josh had appeared alongside his former Padawan and Junior Assembly Member [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] who was his shadow for this meeting. He had kept quiet throughout the talks for a bit, listening, pondering... He only smiled slightly when Thurion would refer to Jyoti as the Grandmaster. The truth was that Grandmaster Nooran had been gone for months now, and Josh had been fulfilling her role. While he had not publicly taken the role of Grandmaster, deciding not to make a big deal of Jyoti's decision to quietly retire nor glorify his own ascension while the Silver Jedi Order was still in a period of change that would come into full effect fairly soon, it was interesting to know that there were those that still thought her around. Had they been too good at keeping the affair quiet? He supposed it didn't matter. But it amused him either way.

Asaraa had spoken up first and he hadn't stopped her. Really, all she did was make him proud by deciding to speak out. She'd be a fine Assembly member one day, so long as she continued to wield her words responsibly.

Once the pleasantries were through, Josh would be thankful for Veiere getting to business and addressing the looming elephant in the room. And, finally, he spoke up.

"If I might... My name is Josh Dragonsflame, Master of the Silver Jedi Order. I'm no Grandfather, and I hope to the Force I'm not one for a little while yet" He spoke calmly, a small but playful smirk spreading across his lips as he did his best to keep the mood light. "But I have a son. One that means more than the worlds, the stars, the galaxy over... And to me, he, like the children of today and tomorrow... Deserve a better future than the one in front of us right now. Deserve a future where they are safe... And should they choose can be spared from the bloodshed that plagues our lives every day. If taking the initiative and banding together is the key to that peace... Doing that for my son... Then I will do what I must.

As for the ideas of high councils and how this effects our Orders individually... I see it as so: Each of us has something to bring to the table. We are different. And unlike our predecessors... I believe that is a good thing. The Silver Jedi Order play our role... The Dawnguard plays their role, The Order of the Sacred Lotus plays their role... And so on, and so forth. I have no interest in interfering in these roles, as we each have our reasons for being havens to those that seek knowledge and to serve the Light Side of the Force. If we are to have a Jedi Grand Council... Then there should be no interference in the operations of others unless it is in the state of emergency.

If we are to be a team... We should work as one. Embracing that we each have our own strengths and weaknesses, and different aspects to bring to the table. We are a varied group. I can't stress enough how much of a good thing that is. Now, as far as the suggestion of Master [member="Tellu Talon"] goes... I do enjoy the idea of our representatives coming together to teach, to educate... To help understand. Misunderstanding has plagued different Jedi Orders in the past, and divided them. Educating each other on what we are all about... I think I would like that very much. Sharing knowledge, empowering each other... That is something I would like to see too.

So here's a question, since it appears it is time to get into the details.... What about representatives? How many should be allowed per group? Should it simply be the leader of each organization? Or perhaps two chosen representatives? A balanced number is something I would desire, personally. Preventing overcrowding while allowing each Order to send those they feel can cover the most ground with their own skillsets in empowering the whole. I have strengths and weaknesses. I have things I can teach... And things I cannot. But there are others in the Silver Jedi Order, for example, I could bring to aid me in covering more ground. And ensuring that we as a unit are acting in the Silver's interests, and not one of an individual."

Having listened to [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] speak, Veiere was glad to see and hear the input from the Master of the Silver Jedi Order. In private between [member="Coren Starchaser"] and himself, Veiere had made certain to emphasize the fact that even though he was with the Silver Jedi today, he did not come into this meeting for voluntary purpose, but at Coren's request and not Veiere's position within any specific organization. Back when all this had started, Veiere was of Commenor and before that, the Jedi Order and the Church of the Force. Today with the Silver Jedi however, his concerns were that he might be perceived to be stepping forward where it wasn't his place, and so when it came to suggestions of who would join this Grand Council, he would remain silent.

Master DragonsFlame and [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] made for an excellent pairing, not simply for their bonds strengthened through the role of apprenticeship, but mostly because Asaraa offered the fresh perspective of generations of Jedi who would live on ahead of their lifetime, while Josh DragonsFlame represented the history of the Silver Jedi Order and a world of experience gained. Perhaps they were both flawed as Josh had admitted, though who among them was not. It was their strengths that they would bring to the table and the Order of the Silver Jedi behind them in full support, Veiere assumed atleast.

For the DawnGuard, it went without saying that [member="Coci Heavenshield"] and her Husband [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] were true examples of what it meant to be Jedi. Though they had both moved on from the Silver Order some time ago, they hadn't wavered in pursuing the Jedi Path, going so far as to bring the Jedi teachings into new cultures and emboldening new prospective Jedi for the future of Midvinter, under the Dawnguard.

[member="Tellu Talon"] had spoken of the Order of the Sacred Lotus, whom Veiere had met what had meant to be a diplomatic meeting only to be interrupted by a Mandalorian drawing his blaster pistol on an Imperial Participant; Tanomas Graf or back then, Adron Malvern who today had found himself in the Confederacy of Independant Systems. No matter, the point was that Veiere knew of them and had supported their growing influence a long time ago.

As for Coren himself, he and his Jedi Praxeum were the face of this bid to align the Jedi of the Galaxy...-Finally. Veiere believed the cause was lost once. He held multiple Conclaves to try and encourage unity, meeting with Coren and the Galactic Alliance's New Jedi Order as well as representatives of the Silver Jedi among his own from Deneba. Veiere knew nearly all of those present, and the sense of pride that he had for watching this life long ambition of his coming into fruition could not be expressed into words accurate enough to convey his relief. The future would prosper from this in so many ways.

The Jedi were here and the fact that so many leaders, both from the past and present. Leaders who have retired to smaller positions, or are centering around specific ventures rather than the galaxy spanning groups who controlled planets. He himself was in that position that helped lead planets, and now he was helping unite what Jedi he could influence positively. The man was glad to see the rest speaking, and providing input. He was going to do what he had always done, approach each speaker, and provide his input on their points.

“Master Thurion is correct, and Dragonsflame helps support it. The Jedi are the guardians and we have a new generation to protect. And that is something to consider. There are ways that we can do this, and each group has its strengths. As Master Coci is stating, there are changes we can enhance. The Jedi can gather, and our various strengths can become everyone’s strength.

“The intent would be to provide a galactic view, where Jedi are, and what our … I want to say forces, but also don’t want to use the term exclusively are doing. Are we hunting relics in a particular region? Do we need assistance, say behind enemy lines as Master Kortun has suggested, or is there a location that requires a… warrior’s hand to help remedy a situation? I foresee the group being advisory and helping to fill in gaps and enhance our message to the galaxy.

“Master Talon brings up the point I wanted to make, much more eloquently.” He looked at all the Jedi, the quiet ones, the ones speaking. “I feel the group should start with one representative from each order, to start. Once we gain traction, and if it becomes oversight and advisory, and maybe expand what we can do.” The Corellian nodded. “Each Order can suggest their own member, but it would be better to have a Master from each group. And one to help monitor the mentoring of younger Jedi, perhaps. All this while allowing Jedi to attend the meetings to voice their concerns are things I feel should be allowed. Thoughts?”

As each person spoke, Thurion felt more and more hopeful that something real and tangible would come out of this meeting. There was an air of excitement that today could very well change the face and fate of the Jedi for generations to come, hopefully for the better. Everyone had the best intentions and built upon what the others had said.

"Aye, that's it exactly," he added to Coren's statement. "The Jedi Order have ever been the guardians of the galaxy. Champions of the common people, defenders of peace in the world. The Sith are a corrupt perversion of those ideals, believing themselves to be above the people that spawned them, rather than a part of them. They have countless trillions of innocent people living under the iron fist of Emperor Carnifex, or Kaine Zambrano as he was once known." His fingertips traced the lines of an old faded scar as he spoke. "He and I are sworn enemies going back decades. It was he who launched the attack on my homeworld, unprovoked and unjust. All because he knew he'd find me there. We cannot underestimate his cruelty, his brutality, and his unwavering dedication to wiping out the Jedi. He cannot be reasoned with."

"I do not speak on behalf of the Dawnguard, but rather on that of my people and my king. I will be their representative on this council of yours, Coren. Granted, I will likely not be present for the majority of meetings as I have too many duties to tend to back home. But I will attend via holocall, if that is fine with you all. The Valkyri regard Jedi as trusted friends and battle-brothers, ever since under Silver protection back in the day, and we do not forget our friends. You are all welcome to wander our lands." He then turned to his wife and offered a smile.

"As for the Dawnguard, they act with complete autonomy. Master Coci speaks on their behalf, as their leader. And I, along with High King Thyrian, support her every decision."

[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] had always spoken well, Veiere simply smiled as he listened to the man, his gaze to the floor though his attention not misplaced. Coci and Thurion were both impressive where Jedi were regarded, and they had become something of a role-model for others to aspire to. Veiere himself had looked up to them for quite some time, ever since [member="Coci Heavenshield"] had been there for him back when his wife had first gone missing and Voss had been opened up to him. The room had fallen quiet, a thoughtful silence, not an awkward one. However Veiere felt it time to speak, now that the leaders and figureheads of this summit had said their piece.

"I'm not here in representation of any individual group, but Commenor as well as the Deneba Jedi Enclave were once under my watch. My intentions are to join with the Silver Jedi Order and help them to serve the Galaxy wherever possible" he explained, getting the first likely questions where his participation was concerned, out of the way. "It's always been a life-long ambition to see the Jedi strengthened, united under a common goal and objective as we stand here today. I suppose now is as good a time as ever to mention the Application that I've put into creation for the use of all Jedi across the Holo-net; It ought to be finished in the coming days however, putting a long story short, this useful little tool will connect every Jedi Temple together, via their Archives if those responsible will allow it" the new Jedi Comport was designed to share information from one Archive Facility to another, effectively collecting every resource known to the Order across the Galaxy and storing it all on the Holo-net, heavily protected for their use and benefit. "Students and Mentors alike will be able to contact each other privately, no matter where they are in the Galaxy, and it should empower Masters in teaching our younger ones through the added convenience of live online classes".

"My hope for the future is to produce more assets for all Jedi to make use of. Though my place will be with the Silvers, I will not be speaking for them here today. Master Starchaser asked me to be among the attendance for today and I thank him for his consideration. Every Jedi present here today gives me great pride and hope for the future of our Galaxy".
