" right lets go" she said heading over to the door and open it, peeking out she looked around before stepping out into the quiet streets.

Out on the relatively quiet street, one vehicle stuck out from the rest, and that was my treasured Z-BAM. I gestured to it, and grinned.

"That's my baby. Fastest tech on two legs."

" oh cool!" Maddy said looking at the vehicle " I've never seen one of them before " She said looking around for a moment. " i bet it is fast, it looks fast"

"Real fast..."

I turned and grinned again.

"And of course you've never seen one before. It's my design."

" Oh? Interesting. so you built it?" she asked looking at him for a moment.

"Built, no. Designed the whole thing, yes. Even has a fridge inside for when I get the munchies."

I grinned at the blonde woman, who was staring at it like a kid who got a new toy on Life Day. I held out the key to the ignition.

"Go ahead and fire 'er up."

Maddy blinked looking at the Key " Really? OK!" She said taking the key " you really don't mind me starting it? "she asked him.

"Nope. There's so much armor on it, I doubt you could scratch it if you tried."

I smiled my half smile and waved her up toward the driver's seat

"Seriously go ahead."

And I leapt up to the cockpit and just kept smiling.

" Alrighty then" Maddy said following him up. Once in the cockpit she started it up with the key he had handed her.

"Open her up slowly... S'not like a fighter, where you hit the throttle to take off."

I smiled at the blonde woman trying to figure out the controls. I gave it about a minute before she'd be able to start driving.

Maddy looked over the controls " i think it be safer if you drove it.. I dont think its a good idea for me to since i dont know how" she said

"Awww... I was hoping to see what you could do. But that's fine... Let the pink man do what he does best."

I winked and hopped into the front seat. As soon as I put my hands on the controls, I felt the familiar surge of adrenaline I got whenever I drove the BAM.

"Alright, baby, here we go!"

And I opened the throttle, and sent the walker racing down the hill.... Right into a traffic jam. No big deal.

"You wanna see the special way of remedying this with the Z-BAM?"

Maddy laughed a little " Ahh feels good to go fast again.. Show me what this thing can do" she said with a smile.

"Alright, since you asked...."

I hit the button that activated the burst repulsorlift, sending us sailing over the knot of traffic, and I piloted us to a clean stop on the street a few meters away from the knot of speeders. I looked over my shoulder at the pretty blonde lady.

"Impressed, yet? Can't fly, but it sure moves."

" whoa that was amazing!" Maddy said her eyes shining in amazement " What else can this thing do?"

"Movement-wise, that's it. Got cargo storage, gun mountings and all kinds of fun stuff. I can even pull a canopy over this thing and sleep in it."

I grinned sheepishly, trying not to admit that I'd done that a lot, even when I was really close to home.

"I probably even have pillows here, somewhere."

" oh thats cool" She said looking around some " I use to sleep in my X-Wing... Well actually it won't really MY X-wing.. It was stolen.. well i didn't know it at the time i bought it from the guy"

"Yeah, scalpers. I bet that the guy you bought it from said he 'upgraded' it. In reality, those guys just modify the ship in pieces, and then reassemble it with fewer parts required. Takes a bit of skill, but it's really a nasty business."

I smiled weakly at @Maddy.

"When I bought that airspeeder I crashed into the building, I found out later that the engines had been reconstructed with fewer parts. Great shock for me."

" well then no wonder i crashed it " Maddy said " Next time i best buy one new less likely for that to happen again" She said

I grinned lazily.

"Pretty much."

I hit the throttle again, and the ZAM leapt into the air.

"Yeeeehaw!"
