Kal'Shebbol Dominion Planning - First TKO Dom

Does what it says on the tin/title. Throw up your ideas and suggestions for objectives, story hooks, and more. As we decide on them, I will edit them in. Once we are added to the map, whenever that is, we will launch this live.

Remember, we want to try and keep a heavy story base. My suggestion for doms, from my time when the GA first formed, is that a minor combat objective (for pilots and/or for ground, rotate it) is good for one objective, like say The Q's show up and unleash a nasty strain of their little horrors on us, or someone or something is threatening the location and we need to stop them. Have a political/negotiation/trade option like selling guns, running product, shipping contracts, and then a FU related option like defeating a darkside cult or recovering an artifact.

Good dominion archetype fodder listed above... BUT the important part is this stuff is driven and chosen by YOU, so keep that in mind and lets do this!

With that in mind a "pirate" group had gained power in the region, funded and supplied by the Q, has cut off our access to the "outside" world so to speak. One mission we have is blockade busting, and with our limited #'s and ships we will need to be creative on how to do that.

(could offer friends in GA a spot here also as they were nice enough to let us jump in there Naboo Dom)

I would happily fluff up a few ships for RP background. ^_^

Also I know the King of Kesh wouldn't mind helping right [member="Solan Charr"] , I mean master .... :D
 
[member="Bryce Bantam"] - Blockade Busting is awesome for a combat idea. And it would fit with our thematic. I'm not sure a direct, well known connection to the Q are fit, as they are so phobic of outsiders. Maybe a suspected link? Great idea though!

Actually, i had conveniently done a thread a short time ago where KalShebbol's political system completely collapsed in on itself and what is there now is a mercantile dictatorship where the use of slaver and pirates is keeping the populace in check. Solan heads there alot to... rehabilitate the slavers that found employment but has not been able to deal with the main problem... AKA where the TKO Would come in in being able to help deal with that larger problem.

Went over the Wookieepedia entry for Kal'Shebbol, figure these details might be interesting to explore for the Dominion:

The Imperial Government Complex—also known locally as "Sarne's Palace"—was the center of Imperial authority on Kal'Shebbol. Surrounded by a death fence and protected by Atgar 1.4 FD P-Towers, the complex was a mixture of squat military bunkers and administrative spires. The complex contained Sarne's private quarters, the command and control for the planetary defenses, research labs, detention cells, a gladiator arena, and a secret hangar containing the Carrack-class light cruiser Ambition.
The Sorbiss Valley was the location of a secret shipyard created during Moff Sarne's reign as ruler of the planet. Large enough to berth a single CR90 corvette, the shipyard was responsible for refitting the corvette Renegade from a standard vessel into one capable of extended operations away from a home port for an indefinite period of time.

Produce, refit, it could function beautifully as a dark stopover for KO vessels. The palace itself also hosts a 'secret' hangar, though how secret after 800 years is open for speculation. But the former Imperial palace could be great to explore. Perhaps cordoned off, abandoned? There was an OP dominion for Kal'Shebbol and I don't know if anything was done to refurbish or demolish the place.
 
[member="Seydon of Arda"] - I can ask Sarge later. But my idea is a "shadowyard" to make, refit, and repair vessels. Have an experimental E-Wing design there that we need to steal the handful of fighters from.and the plans. Then could do a follow up thread subbing it as a location and fitting it back to operating status.
 
Putting in my 2 cents :)

Objective 1: (The combat based one)
Recently the planet of Kal'Shebbol has found itself in a state of unrest. Any form of governing body that they held has fallen apart into small cells of resistance and exile. This collapse caused a significant pirate and slave ship presence to defend on the planet and take control of the population, causing it to dissolve into a place of fear and suffering.

The Underground having established themselves within the Kathol Sector have heard the hushed pleas of the people on Kal'Shebbol and have decided that a strike force is in need to cripple the illegal slaving operations over the planet.

The order has been given to launch attacks against one particularly large orbiting slave ship that intelligence has linked to the slaver's coronation on planet. Crippling this ship will surely break the moral of the pirate forces.

Objective 2: (The Scout-y One)
Kal’Shebbol has been pitched as a key point to Underground Command, they wish a long range scanning base to be established on the planet so that any ship entering the sector can be picked up and assessed before decisive actions are made.

Underground intelligence have established that the Sorbiss Valley has held a secret location can fit their needs if they can locate it and refit it. However the area has been un-settled since the Gulag Plague and arial scans have found nothing to indicate the site.

A team of scouts has been commissioned to put boots on the ground and locate the site so that heavier equipment can be brought in and set up the base for the Underground’s needs.

Objective 3: (The talk-y one)
On the surface of Kal’Shebbol the rumours around the recent slaver attacks have started to spread to the merchant dictatorship who have taken it upon themselves to spread the word that any person who aids them in revealing the truth will be handsomely rewarded.

After all the rumours are horrifying. Entire ships of slaves flown away to a far distant part of the rift where they are sold in exchange for millions of credits by a questionable buyer. Does this link to the events on Demonsgate? Is it possible that the whispers of the Qektoth aggression is linked to the Kal’Shebbol slaver ring? All these questions have interested the Underground Command as well, leading to them deploying several agents to attempt to uncover the truth.

Basically there is no reason to directly through the Xenomorphs or the Qektoth in just yet, a slow lead up with linked reasons. Basically have the slaver's working for a third party who is working for the Qektoth by providing them with ample stock for their experiments. We can uncover it through the story of several events rather then seal it all in now with a single dominion.

The only thing I would do is tweak this a bit with [member="Seydon of Arda"] idea for a small ship yard, have the targets be one and the same. Good background to define the target better. Also like that the others are suit not only combat characters.

[member="sabrina"] - is you main ICly established and involved in the region? That's unlikely. And without that, the concept is a little shaky

Of course you are welcome to participate however you want. Just keep in mind coherencecy of story, etc....
