Kicking the Nest [SOV Dominion of Kubindi]

Chief Engineer Urwin Darmos
Kubindi
851 ABY
Objective #3 - Convince the La'duc to work with The Sovereignty
d0b88f9c10.png

The shuttle full of engineers and their protection unit would finally land, outside of a very roughed up outpost. "We're here. The La'duc representative is coming out of the outpost gate now. Opening our doors now." the shuttle pilot would say over the ship communications. Urwin would look out the shuttle window, and see the representative as well as some armed La'duc with him.

"Alright, men. I want the protection unit right next to me, and engineers behind us. Someone grab the blueprints." Urwin would say, while looking down to check his blaster pistol. Urwin and the rest of the men on the shuttle would begin stepping out of the shuttle doors one by one. He could feel the cold, distrustful stare of the La'duc as he stepped out. Behind them, a small table would be rolled as they walked towards the La'duc. When they'd reach in front of the La'duc, the table would be rolled in front of Urwin, and he'd reach back for the blueprints. One of the engineers would place them in his hand, and he'd roll them out.

"The Sovereignty is taking Kubindi. An alliance would greatly benefit us both, and we'd have no issue doing some work for the La'duc to add some incentive." Urwin would offer to the representative, going over the different selections the engineers could do for them.

"Yess. Wee couldd usee thiss. Wee doo nott wantt too bee attackedd, but we will do what is needed." The representative would respond, going over the blueprints.

Objective Five
Interacting With: [member="Saul Ferasi"]

When her brother had left, all those years ago, it had taken the young Roella a full day to believe it. Saul had been her idol, the epitome of everything she had ever wanted to be. Confident, regal, and not afraid to do what he wanted. His departure had utterly broken her heart, in every way. But that didn't matter, now, because he was back. Her brother was back. She was embracing him, it was real. For a few moments, she was not Princess Roella of the House Arwyn, heir to the throne of the Talravani Queendom. No, she was Roella, the young woman reunited with her brother for the first time in years.

Then the moment was over, and she was the Princess again.

"Yes, of course. I would appreciate the transportation."

Her hand flicked, and her guards sheathed their weapons, and followed her inside. The knights remained silent, as they would not speak unless spoken to. Roella looked around the ship. Immaculate. A lot like the ships of the Naval officers she had been in, like her brother, @Lewyn Arwyn. It made her uneasy, like maybe Saul had been involved in something bad.

"You have a nice ship, brother. But I must ask the question you know I must ask: why did you leave?"

ABOARD THE CADIA
KUBINDI

Saul nodded at her thanks while already shuffling in deeper into the freighter moving around things and hitting buttons for various different things. The guard made their way into the ship and the eldest Arwyn gave them a gesture to where they should leave their horses - the cargo bay. There they would find some straps they could use as a makeshift rope for the horses to keep them in place. Most of the bay was already full of weapon crates but there would still be place for the knights' horses.

"Set yourself up in here. Just don't wreck the place." The navigator told the knights as he lead them into the lounge area of the ship. Not that big actually, so some would find themselves sitting on the ground. He'd gesture his sister to follow him into the cockpit of the ship, clearly acknowledging the fact the guards would not heed his words but Roella's. Saul didn't really check back to see if they followed after entering the cockpit with the future Queen.

He took the pilot's seat while the co-pilot one was free for his sister, all the while remaining silent for the reason of his departure. She had shifted her demeanor from that of a sibling to that of the Heir Apparent, it was noticeable and Saul understood it. One of the things he sought to escape from by leaving Talravin. The facades, the masks, the identities. In reality, he'd found not very different approaches to life in almost every corner of the galaxy.

Saul resumed the course once more with the freighter heading to the location of the distress signal.

"I did not want to live an Arwyn's life, Roella." He admitted coldly. It reminded him of his own questions, especially the one where he inquired about what in the galaxy's name was she doing out here in Kubindi. Was it the distress signal? She'd not know about it if she was on Talravin. Too far away. "What are you doing out here?" Saul shot the question calmly but aiming to avoid furthermore interrogation while clearly aware of Roella's stubbornness. She was even more stubborn than he ever was and that was a whole lot of stubbornness.

Kubindi was a less than pleasurable world, but truth be told, anything was better than Tund. That radioactive hellhole he once called home was nothing but the past now, but still, it plagued his mind. What if things could've been different, would certain people still be alive? Would Cassus himself be dead? It didn't matter, the damage had been done and dwelling on the past only led to a darker path. A path in which he wasn't interested in. Stoma was only here to do his duty, serve those that saved him to the best of his ability. After all, that's what gratefulness truly looked like in his humble yet unspoken opinion.

It was near the back of the ten man team that the tenth addition stood. A firm grip upon his blaster whilst this new armour protected him to the best of it's abilities. From beneath his visor he glanced back and forth, only the slightest of movements were visible from the exterior. The brown eyes of Stoma glancing at the 'lazy' marksman for the briefest of moments before they were shifted onto Sergeant Hague as he began scolding the aforementioned member of AECO Team 12. Cynan's reputation turned out to be as truthful as they said. He was an angry man, it was as if he had another emotion, at least so far no other had been observed.

As the rest of the team took their brief moment of reprieve in stride, Stoma merely turned to face the jungle as the exotic sounds echoed throughout the night. Everything he saw was new to him, every creature as unique as the last. Even the people, within the company of... reputable individuals was something he still hadn't quite gotten a hang of just yet. Though in time they would, for now he stared into the jungle as it only stared back. It was curiosity that killed the cat; let's hope that Cassus isn't the cat today.

Objective: Objective 1: Hive Kadsac

“The Sovereignty has called for aid. More specifically, Varik Ice, has requested a Confederate presence in this venture. As allies do, I have responded.”

Srina sighed softly, barely breathing, as she gauged the reaction of the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Alliance. The dutiful apprentice had taken it upon herself to encourage a more healthy relationship between two Confederate allies. It wasn’t one of her favorite duties, being relegated to den mother for a pair of rowdy, obstinate, and bullish fighters…But it was necessary. Their conflicts needed to be resolved fully to ensure that the ongoing truce held firm. The journey through hyperspace had been long, arduous, and filled with constant questioning as to their destination.

The small woman stood from the veritable throne that had once belong to Darth Metus. Her love for the Ferocity had caused the Sith Lord to willingly bequeath it to her. There were so many, many memories that she felt safe in its halls, protected, even if the Dread Lord was a million miles away. The white-haired apprentice moved with grace as she approached the much taller man, resting a careful hand on his forearm. “I am his ally and you are mine. It’s time to put this behind you. A show of goodwill toward the Sovereignties cause will mean far more than empty platitudes.”

Silver eyes softened when they rose to his, not much, but by the smallest fraction that only those closest to her would notice. Aryn, against her Master’s better judgment, was one of those people. “If you won’t do it for yourself… Will you do it for me?”

There it was. Her last-ditch effort, to get her friend to come with her, versus sitting around to babysit the Ferocity. It wasn’t as if he had much of a choice. He was on her assault frigate, which masqueraded as personal transport, and she was going to land on Kubindi within the hour. She backed up a little bit to give a polite order to a crew member. They were using the already raging space battle as cover to make it down to the planet unnoticed. Late. They were definitely late.

Still, she would be able to reach the coordinates that the Sovereign had been so kind to provide without much difficulty. The young woman turned back toward Aryn Teth and offered him a pale smile, coupled with the continued invitation. “We’ll be providing support to one of the ground-based objectives in order to help the Covluz Hive take control so that needless bloodshed will end. The Sovereignty plans to help stabilize the populace and remove hostile elements.”

The Ferocity began to descend through the atmosphere and she could feel the immaculate stabilizers kick in. When they got low enough, she could see that they were landing near other starships and drop pods that belonged to the Sovereignty. She pulled out her comm as they landed and sent a brief transmission to [member="Varik Ice"], however, it didn’t seem to have been received. Odd. Nevertheless, she could still faintly feel the imprint the King left in the Force, and it would lead the way.

When the ramp dropped Srina pulled her hood up and glanced toward Aryn while crewmembers and a cadre of Confederate BX Battledroids spilled out to secure the area. The viewports showed other drop pods slamming into the planet from space not far off, but she had no idea who sent them, and certainly didn’t know they belonged to [member="Arken Lussk"]. Nevertheless, she had a mission to complete.

And a King that had gone radio silent.

“So…What say you, Supreme Commander?”, she questioned softly, her words hearkening back to one of the first times she’d actually addressed him. It had been from across a conference table on Sullust. It felt like everything had happened ages ago. “Will you fight with me?”

Regardless the response, Srina tossed her companion a mysterious throw-away smile, before exiting the ship. They had a lot of ground to cover and needed to do so quickly. They crossed forest area that was crawling with a slow fog, and a multitude of creepy, crawling insects. Eventually, they came to a hole in the ground that seemed to have leftover equipment near it from people rappelling down.

Varik was down. Definitely, down.

“What do you think is down there?”, she questioned Aryn absentmindedly, before moving abruptly, stepping off the edge. She dropped for a moment before her feet touched solid ground, her impact nullified by the Force, and the Echani stepped aside to give her friend room to land. It was dark, dank, and smelled of earth. She activated her saber and white light filled the tunnel. It was just as good as a glowrod—Better, even. Some of the pathway was destroyed up ahead. It looked like it led to a cavern below…But it was dark. The blackest of night—No sun could naturally touch the bottoms of these pits. For a moment she felt a little claustrophobic but she buried the feeling just as quickly as it arrived.

“I guess we go down.”

"What reason-?" asked the woman, in the sort of way that doesn't prompt an answer. She initially took a breath in, bringing in some weight for a flurry of words to follow, before she hesitated. For whatever reason, as she let the same breath out, she decided against it.

The woman - a Kubaz with robes that seem to flow a little more than the rest of her clansmen - rubbed at her temple in thought. At full stance, she stood only a little bit underneath the bounty hunter, although she had a slight slouch that put her a little shorter again.
"For years, we have fought with Unor..." she began to elaborate, her nasally voice muffled by her mask. "Sure, we have fought with the other clans, but nothing so severe that we could not mediate." Pausing to look over towards one of the crisis centers, she found a couple of humanoid disaster workers pushing another sick Kubaz inside atop a gurney. "But this - this is beyond anything since the hive wars, for any clan. My husband has spent weeks running disaster relief, maybe he could tell you more... it's only a matter of time until he catches it too."

Looking back to the hunter, the woman affirmed her gaze and delivered decisively:
"There's nobody else this could be. Call it a mothers instinct."

In the hunters right ear, a brief burst of static came into frame for only a moment, only to be interrupted by a distorted voice. The source came from on the operations channel and the sender only came up as 'ONI'.
"The disease - a viral pathogen - is pre-existing and registered with most major health commissions. It's rampant in the swamps of Nal Hutta, but otherwise rare across the galaxy. Transmission is through fluids, for your own safety. The effects are normally limited to flu-like symptoms, so it's curious that Kubaz are dying, even with their biological differences considered. We're comparing data with the Department of Public Health, but for now, planetary scans identify a concentration of the disease in two areas: the Covluz hive, and sector A-27b - which is outside of populated territory. More information to follow, hunter."

The Bounty Hunter quite literally looked down upon her as she spoke, and it wasn't as if he was listening to just the answers, but the way she spoke. The way she composed herself in front of such an intimidating figure widely known across the galaxy for his sheer brutality. She hesitated. Her first mistake; hopefully, for her sake, not the first of many. There was something she failed to say, or couldn't. As to why the Mandalorian didn't know, but it was something that he most definitely caught wind of. Then came a second. There was no motive, there was an assumption. Something was off, and Fett didn't trust her word anymore than a Hutt's. Yet still, when did Koda Fett trust anybody other than himself?

After being directed towards her husband a quick nod was offered as the two parted ways, but then a voice crackled within his ear. The information was useful, but then again when wasn't Proxy-1? Those coordinates caught his attention, going to the source would definitely shed some light upon the foul play. Meanwhile, he responded through their communication line, "Give me the history of Unor and Covluz's relations." Whatever was bestowed upon would hopefully circumvent asking that women's soon to be dead husband.

It was to the surface Fett aspired to go, and upon reaching it, his speeder awaited him. A small one-man craft, yet that's all he required. To Sector A-27B.

Aryn Teth

Kubindi, Calaron Sector, the Outer Rim Territories
Interacting With: [member="Srina Talon"]
Objective: 1 - Hive Kadsac

To say that Aryn was displeased with the surprise detour that Srina had decided to take them on towards Kubindi and Sovereignty Territory would have been something of an understatement. Officially, Aryn knew quite well that the Sovereignty had technically signed on with the Alliance and their allies in a mutual defense pact, but Aryn could easily follow the major agreements between factions, personal entanglements were quite different. Not only was the Sovereign himself a man whom Aryn had once been expressly opposed to, and indeed, the two had once tried to kill one another, but the Sovereignty had seemed to become a hive for many of the other figures in the galaxy Aryn counted among his greatest enemies.

Not only was there the bounty hunter Koda Fett, whom Aryn still remained directly opposed to considering the man's Mandalorian entanglements, but most of all there was Luyioth Dakwin, the Ex-Inquisitor who had once tortured Aryn unceasingly for months in the hope that the man would be turned to the dark side and the service of the Empire, only to prompt the greatest sacrifice that Aryn had made in his life, his own connection to the force. It was a sacrifice that had almost killed him, and had a far longer lasting effect than any of the woman's torture had.

"He requested a Confederate presence, not an Alliance one." His quip was quick, but of course Srina had been prepared with a retort as he felt her hand gently rest upon his forearm. Their bond had strengthened since its formation on Byllurun, and he could still feel her thoughts easily as she could feel his own, yet the touch of her hand had a uniquely calming feature to it, regardless of whether or not the Jedi would ever actually admit it. Her words that follow were equally irritating in their smoothness and calming nature, and for the briefest of moments Aryn sympathized with Darth Metus in a way that he had never done before. Aryn had never been an easily-manipulated individual, but Srina was a uniquely capable woman.

Sighing, and knowing that he could not have dissuaded his friend from going down to the planet regardless of anything he might have said, Aryn relented. "You have an irritating capability to push me against my better judgement, don't you?" There was no explicit agreement or confirmation in his words, but the tone and hidden meaning gave her all she needed. If anything, his words echoed more than anything just an irritated boy, relenting in an argument while refusing to agree the other was right.

As the ramp dropped and the Battledroids flooded from the ship, Aryn's gaze turned towards Srina, giving her a silent acknowledgement in the form of a nod before he followed her out. The walk through the forest was silent, the Jedi keeping a gentle grip on his saber, held in the standard reverse-grip he had grown increasingly comfortable with. When they reached the hole and the equipment which surrounded it, Aryn only took a brief moment to examine some of it before he heard her question. Turning his gaze over to answer her, he only caught a glimpse as she dropped down into the hole. Aryn made no rush to check if she was alright, he would have felt her pain if there had been any, instead, only the vaguest frustration filled him as he rolled his eyes, moving over to the edge. "What do you think is down there?" He echoed her words in a silent, mocking tone, before dropping down himself.

As his feet touched the ground, protected in the same manner as she had been, he turned his gaze around the interior of the cave they had landed, bringing up his weapon to activate its blue blade, casting light along with her own saber as he searched the tunnel they stood within. As he moved up alongside with her, he sighed as he looked over the cavern which spread out deeper into the darkness. Casting a briefly glance back toward her, he raised an eyebrow. "We could always just go back?"

There was little real hope in the tone of his voice.

Varik Ice
Equipment: Lightsaber - Armour
Location: Kadsac Hive Tunnels
Objective: 1
OouWALC.jpg
Well, it could always be worse. Varik felt pain shoot through his leg as he did his best to walk on it, feeling significantly slowed. If he hadn't been focusing, his leg probably would have shattered, or worse. His armour's structural integrity seemed to matter little; he could only wonder what kind of blasters the Kubaz had been using to punch through Phrik like that. Perhaps it was an isolated case, but he wanted to be cautious.

Sensing around, Varik pulled his lightsaber from a nearby pool of water and into his hand, placing it on his belt. He glanced around, noticing a couple of dead soldiers nearby - if nothing else, he was going to stay to avenge their lives. As his helmet buzzed, he heard some sort of garbled communication. Perhaps it was from the surface, or even higher. He did know that the Kubaz had witches around, and he had no idea if some would be in the tunnels. Focusing, he began to shrink his presence in the force, quieting himself and making him hard to find.

Finally, the Sovereign began heading deeper, into more tunnel entrances. He was quiet now, with no weapons in his hand as he listened intently for the chittering and scampering of the enemy's feet - he would follow that sound to their base, no matter how long it took him. His exposed eye stared blankly forward as he continued, though he could barely see anything.

Reaching the end of a small complex of confusing passages, Varik heard nasally talking nearby. Feeling through the force for a moment, he knew there was two. One talked for a while before walking off, deeper downwards and most likely on a patrol route back. The other stayed still, remaining at his post and keeping his eyes open. Varik was determined to make sure that did him no good. Exiting his tunnel, he came out behind the sentry.

Ice wasted no time, coming behind the Kubaz and using the force to shove his weapon into the ground, one hand covering the being's proboscis and preventing any noise as the other arm wrapped around his neck. Adjusting his grip, he allowed the struggle for a moment just to be sure of himself before his other hand came back around the head; with a twist and a wet snap, the Kubaz was silenced and went limp in his hands.

Varik dropped the unsuspecting guard on the ground in front of him, before he continued his descent. He followed the tracks of the other Kubaz, having a gut feeling that it would lead him to where he had to go, even if that was the most dangerous place in this whole complex. At least in a larger command centre or hive home, he would have more space to work.

Location: Kubindi [Tunnels-Headed Toward Command Center]
In the Company Of: [member="Aryn Teth"] | [member="Varik Ice"]
Objective: Objective 1: Hive Kadsac

Aryn Teth, aside from her Master, was the most stubborn man alive.

Srina had experience dealing with hard-headed individuals. Typically, a good kicking, set them straight. The dark-haired human before her was a different story. As infuriating as he could be, she didn’t want to hurt him, or leave him with a nasty concussion to write home to his Triumvirate about. Silvery eyes swept over him carefully, noting his general defiance, and disgruntled attitude. Displeasure rolled from him in waves. “Let it go, my Jedi. The demons of your past ought to stay where they belong. In, the past. Don’t dwell on the things that cannot be changed. Focus on the present.”

Eventually, the Supreme Commander relented, of course without saying. Instead, he uttered some sort of noncommittal phrase that was almost like a compliment wrapped around and insult. “I will remember, Aryn Teth, that you find me irritating.”, she responded without missing a beat, as if she were reading something from the HoloNet, versus repeating his own words. There was no anger or displeasure in her tone. It was simply stated fact. “Especially, when you next request my assistance.”

Yes, she understood his hidden meaning. Srina was slow to learn when it came to his inexplicable need to be boar-headed, but she did, indeed learn. Nevertheless, he didn’t put up much of a fight, and they made their way out of the Ferocity without incident. They were both a quiet pair as they made their way through the Kubindi forest. Srina was doing her best not to acknowledge the insect population, and almost welcomed the hole in the ground, to escape the constant buzzing.

‘I heard that.’, she mentally called to her friend, noting that he had mocked her, without bothering to hide his thoughts. Knowing Aryn, it had probably been deliberate, but she could hardly let it go when they were possibly dropping down into a pit of death and destruction. The presence of the Jedi at her back was a comfort in the dim surroundings. Even with both of their lightsabers shining bright, the walls felt too close, and the shadows too deep.

When they got to the cave in she lowered her saber to try and see a little better…But it was of no use. She could feel that Aryn didn’t want to be there. The fact that they were venturing into the unknown seemed to make him all the surlier. He looked toward her, and she sighed softly, kicking a stray chunk of rock. It dropped down, making noise most of the way, so it told her that the terrain was exceedingly rough. They would have to exercise a little more caution. “We cannot go back. Varik IS this way.”

Srina leaned toward him and grasped the collar of his uniform, delicately smoothing out some sort of invisible wrinkle. It was just going to get mussed again regardless...But she wasn't good at things like this. Emotion eluded her more often than not. "Thank you, for coming.", she spoke gently, sincerely, before she began descending down, down into the cavernous area below the tunnel. Regardless of their barbs back and forth she was grateful for his presence. He would feel it through their connection, and know it, from the way she remained nearby. She had pushed him from his comfort zone. At least temporarily, she deserved his peevish responses.

The typically graceful Echani slid more than once as she scaled down jagged rocks without any sort of equipment. Eventually, she came across two dead soldiers while waiting for Aryn to make his way down the slope. “He was here…”, she murmured, angling her lightsaber so that she could see better. It seemed that these men had died from a combination of blaster fire and being crushed by chunks of rock and earth. There were footsteps leading away, heading deeper into the nest, and Srina sighed. Suddenly, she could not feel Varik as well as she once had. Was he masking his presence? “He’s gone this way…But we’ll need to be cautious.”

The white-haired woman stilled when she heard something in the darkness. It was a skittering sound. Footsteps? She could feel something, more than one something, and she raised her lightsaber in a defensive stance. If she could feel it, she knew that the Jedi at her side felt it too. The dank air had been disturbed and she could hear a slew of whirling syllables that didn’t make any sense. ‘…Aryn…They’re everywhere…’

Light from blasters illuminated the cavern.

Witnessing the almost effortless take-down of the creature left the Guardian with a distinct sense of pride. That pride left quickly as the oppressive feelings of the Dark Side forest only wormed their way back into her heart. And for the briefest moments, something familiar graced her mind, as if a distant afterthought halfway across the world, that brought a welcome reprieve...

That was gone quickly enough when the sounds of their reinforcements drew her ire and her focus. Oh, lovely, it's him. She mentally snapped in response to being referred as 'that chick', briefly unimpressed. Suppressing baseless urges, she raised her free left hand in greeting to Cynan and his squad, inching ever-closer to the corpse of the Ghost Spider they had just effortlessly destroyed to inspect it. Something about the beast was putting Inyri's suspicions in overdrive, ever-aware of the fact that Dathomiri magicks were present in these woods. Perhaps they were influencing the wildlife. There'd be no way to tell now, with the flawless execution of the beast, any darker influences would have fled the corpse when it died. Sighing, she passed over the smoldering body to look past it at their impending path.

"Grand Commander, I'm certain they know we're here now. We should tread carefully-- Though our display must have left them shaking in their boots. Hopefully, they won't try that again."

She addressed Vestille in a calm and emotionless voice, eyes glancing back over to Hague with a similar face, clearly mimicking his own distaste for her. If you can't beat them, join them. Secretly, she worried; these forests were evil. That evil preyed on those unskilled to fend it off, and Cynan's incipient abilities needed nurturing, not this negativity. But, this wasn't her call; she just had to work with it. Eventually, after an almost stand-off of silence, she gave her old comrade from Striga a nod, and the Guardian stepped over a limb of the dead spider to continue moving, deeper into the heart of the darkness.

In a barrage across the orbit of Kubindi, threefold Sovereign Star Destroyers engaged their long-range turbolaser batteries to the main bulk of the Kadsac Fleet that were the three other star destroyers. The star destroyers, distracted immensely, as malicious software ran rampant throughout the systems of the ships, of the Kadsac fleet, from a place in the systems that had yet to be determined by the information teams that were still scrambling. The confusion piled on, as the long-range turbolaser fire collided with the shields of the star destroyers in a torrent of annihilation for their shields. Before the next subsequent barrage, Harkor spoke; “Aim for the bow armaments.”, ordered Harkor, doing so would allow for the Sovereign Fleet to maintain their distance, and if the Kadsac fleet gathered their bearings before being destroyed, the Sovereign fleet would be at a permanent advantage with their range, before the Kadsac Fleet would be able to reposition and utilize both of their relatively unscathed starboard and port side armaments. They would not survive long.

Lest before long, a variety of the bow armaments exploded, as the turbolasers collided with the bow of the threefold star destroyers, and subsequently, the naval ships of the Kadsac fleet would be at a disadvantage if the engagement continued at a frontal position, and subsequently, the Kadsac fleet finally returned fire in coordinated fashion, although the damage had been done.

"Enemy fleet returning fire, sir.", informed the lieutenant, the same who informed Harkor of the code-slicing payload; "Incoming Ion torpedoes.". It was apparently the Kadsac fleet's desperate attempt at trying to even the odds, by evening the damage.

"Order Diamondback-1 and Diamondback-2 to deploy missile countermeasures.", ordered of Harkor.

"Aye aye, sir.", replied the lieutenant in a formal tone, before leaning into an intercom on his desk, "Bulwark-1, to vessels: Diamondback-1 and 2, Bulwark-1, to vessels: Diamondback-1 and 2. Deploy missile countermeasures. Intercept those ion torpedoes.", regulatory instructed the Lieutenant, to the COs and comms specialists of Diamondback-1 and 2. With an obligatory reply from the Sovereign naval vessels beforehand, Diamondback-1 and Diamond-back 2, that were on each side of the main battle line of the fleet, the three Sovereign Star Destroyers, deployed it's counter measures in 180 degree in the front, to intercept the torpedoes.

The battle over the skies of Kubindi continued, as the ghosts of war, would soon populate the hereafter.

Saxon hated bugs. He hated them with a passion. Why couldn't the Sovereignty ever go somewhere nice? Sunny beach world? Nope, irradiated forest of subterranean bug eaters. He sighed heavily as his team marched through the tunnels of Hive Kadsac. They had been walking for what felt like hours and not once had they found any sign of the Kubaz soldiers that were supposed to be down these black, cavernous holes. What they had found was tons of insects and honestly he was getting tired of wiping goop off of his armor.

"Varik," Nothing. Coms were jammed. That meant either he was so far down that a signal couldn't get anywhere, or their coms were being jammed by military tech. He was betting on the second one. "Alright vode, get ready for an ambush. Nobody dies in these caves or I'll reach into the Manda and smack you myself."

The sector itself, when put on a map, is 8 nautical miles to the east-northeast of Hive Covluz. Satellite imagery attempts reveal a 'black spot' - simply a square of black over the south-east of the sector, hiding around three quarters of a square kilometer from those who would choose to pry. Conveniently, as the hunter made past the triage and outwards within the hive, a message pinged to the heads up display of his helmet: a simple set of coordinates from the same ever-present 'ONI', pointing to a corner of one of the hives hangars.

At that point, the brief burst of static make a return. Just as before, it was interrupted a moment after.
"Clan Unor and Clan Covluz have been in conflict for the past 27 planetary years - for context, approximately 60 years in Coruscant planetary years. Prior to breakdown of relations, the two clans had grown close in preparation for allying their clans through marriage. The breakdown occurred when the groom from Clan Covluz died in suspicious circumstances three planetary weeks prior to the wedding. Our analysts conclude that further deterioration has come from a mix of poor diplomatic efforts, lack of transparency in negotiations, and clan leaders near-consistently attempting to 'one-up' the last attack from the other; however, this leaves an unaccounted value by our calculations, which fits the profile of a third party - or parties - covert disruption operations. Open war briefly broke between the clans 6 planetary years ago, but it was forced into a ceasefire by the other clans; the ceasefire has yet to be turned into a state of peace and remains to this day. Calculating by lives lost, key resources lost, damage to architecture, and time sustained, this is the second worst conflict between clans in the planets modern history."

"Did that give you what you need, hunter?"

As the Bounty Hunter made his way out a ping came about his helmet's sensors, guiding him in a certain direction. It would definitely appear strange, watching a man turn on his heel mid-stride and move in a completely different direction. Although it mattered not, as the 'investigator' he had free reign to do almost anything in which he liked. To some, he was their savior from a certain point of view, or at least would be. Fett moved throughout the less than pleasant appearing hive in the direction of the hangar, taking note of the landspeeder the coordinates were so exact to identify. In truth he was glad to leave, hives only reminded him of worse days.

"Yes." Fett replied to Proxy-1 as he traversed the harsh terrain on the landspeeder, moving towards the 'black spot'. He had time to think over the information, and it was truly helpful, if it were to be anyone it would be the Unor. Although, he couldn't help shake the feeling that Unor was a scapegoat to a third party attacker. It didn't matter, not yet. It was with wishful thinking that he Bounty Hunter hoped the source could tell him more.

Silence. If it weren't for the engines of the landspeeder roaring over the flare-battered terrain of the planet, he would be in silence. Between the clans, there was little to see, the surface having been long abandoned in favor of the hives. Occasionally, the odd bit of shrubbery or a building would break the otherwise plain scenery, but the uncompromising solar flares left little behind. Then, from the distance, a bang: a dull roar that threatened to shake the ground. Exactly what the source of the roar was, was initially left uncertain; but as the crest of the dune parted, it gave way to a distant complex adorned with spacecraft and artillery pieces, with one such artillery blast bearing towards the hunter.

The first shot whizzed past the hunter, ripping up the sand in an explosion behind him. While the artillery pieces slowly turned, tracking their target while he was far enough to fire at, the complex burst into action: two ships panicked to take off, while three others scrambled to abandon their cargo and resupply so that they could. To the rear of the complex, some distant figures ran about what looked like a gunship. Several figures took up the overlooks of the complex itself, some coming to what looked eerily like emplaced weapons.

An alarm began to sound from the complex.

There it was. The source of the foul play, it had to be. If not that, then they too were hiding something. Perhaps they were preparing to leave, or maybe the sight of someone drawing near was enough to instill enough panic that they would flee. Whoever was in that gunship had to be important. A large stream of pure energy arched it's way towards the Bounty Hunter as he traversed the inhospitable terrain, and as it detonated nearby he couldn't help but flinch from the explosion that had fortunately enough done no damage.

Fett continued onward whilst his face formed a scowl beneath his helmet. His right hand remained on the wheel itself, as his left pulled the rangefinder down over his visor. It zoomed in upon the structure, activating it's heat gradient detection software so that when these barrages were fired he could spot them with ease and avoid them as such. For the briefest of moments he glanced towards the gunship, if any symbols were present they would be run through the holonet system within his helmet. With so much present his vision was impaired, and as a result he had his fair share of close calls.

To be a successful Bounty Hunter you had to have all the tricks of the trade, and Mandalorian Armour certainly had all that.

It was back and forth, side to side the speeder moved in as it avoided the incoming artillery with increasing difficulty as he drew near. The Mandalorian found himself within the the five kilometer 'safe zone', being perceptive enough to realize he was no longer being fired upon. Yet still, the speeder made it's way in the direction of the building. Being caught upon the groundfloor in a skirmish wasn't typically ideal, so as a result he ascended upwards via the use of his jetpack to the roof; knowing full well someone or something would be here to combat him.

The base roared. Two more artillery shots bounded towards the bounty hunter: the first whizzed by closer than the last, but the second soared too high overhead, the bounty hunter now too close. Instead, as the bounty hunter took to the air, three streams of red bolts chased after him, moving to try and swat him out of the air. Across the compound, a light freighter scrambled to take to the air, while two more hurried to abandon their cargo; further again, more crew hurried to fit missiles to the side of the gunship.

More and more soldiers - mercenaries, both Kubaz and alien in description - came onto the overlook and out onto the ground, hurrying to take shots at the oncoming hunter. The three emplacements remained ruthless in their offensive, continuing to attempt to swat the hunter out of the air with their streams. Meanwhile, as seemingly the last of the mercenaries came out, red lights blinked to life over the doors: suggesting that they had been locked.

"Eliza," began Luyioth, turning from her place half-way down her ships lowered ramp to throw the weapon up to her: "carry that. For now, leave fighting to me, but just in case." The weapon itself was a straight vibrosword, bladed on either side at roughly 95 centimeters in length. It sat in a dull scabbard, with a dull green light indicating that the battery for the sword itself was charging.

Now turning to step off the ramp, Luyioth lowered down into the mud of the swamp itself. Her boots, coming up to her calf, sank down a little, as the foreboding air only became thicker. Such was the nature of a dark force nexus - and while she was fortunate enough to be well attuned to the dark side of the force, she was not so certain about her newly ordained apprentice. Without turning her head to check on Eliza, she simply proceeded further into the swamp, the ramp of her ship groaning before starting to lift back towards closed.

"This entire forest, the Silver Forest of Dreams, is a dark force nexus. That means the force is unusually strong here. This makes it ideal for your first delve into the force - so that you might understand it, before you learn to wield it. Just be aware that with a force nexus comes inherent danger. You should not wander to one alone, not until you find more power."

There was no doubt in his mind that there was something being hidden here, the high amount of activity suggested such foul play was afoot. To see ships flee upon his arrival instilled some sort of confidence that would bolster the resolve of a lesser man, yet Fett had been doing this for a long time - it was a sight he was most definitely used to by now. For there was always one named spoken in hushed tones among the galaxy's criminals, one that could dissuade the stoutest of hearts. He was rumored to be the most heartless of hunters, incapable of feeling any bit of remorse or guilt and so pleading to him was useless.

"Koda Fett!"

The Bounty Hunter could hear it being screeched as he soared past the first floor, then the second, the third and so on. A jetpack was truly a useful tool, offering an immense amount of mobility and the speed to chase down any men on foot. It didn't hurt that it came with a weapon of it's own. The roof was his intention, it was far easier to combat your enemies when an easy escape option was viable. In that aspect, Fett was strange, he acted without forethought and on instincts. Perhaps it was the flash training, or a gut-feeling he had. The Bounty Hunter couldn't really say, but it wasn't as if he could tell anyone regardless.

Upon reaching the roof's top, the sight of more than enough Mercenaries and Kubaz, some both, were present. Blaster Bolts came in his direction, and he strafed right in his attempt to avoid them; in which he was successful. His right arm was raised, the red gauntlet apart of the Mandalorian Armor cycled it's rocket weaponry as an intensive barrage or concussion missiles departed it in their very direction. Meanwhile his Carbine hung across his chestplate via it's sling. In his left hand was a WESTAR-34, firing seemingly blindly into the crowd of them.

Those that opposed him soon found themselves eliminated, either dead or worse, the latter being trapped with a severe wound in this seemingly desolate wasteland. Fett would disengage his jetpack and land with a hearty thud, it was now that he would begin to move inside, but before doing so his perceptive eyes would search for anything of note. An identifying feature, or something of the kind.
