Janira put in the call for air support when Mara mentioned needing it. It was clear they did since the droid forces didn't seem to be waning. There was something greater going on here, and that bothered her. Where were all of these IG droids coming from? Surely there couldn't just be a massive army hiding on the planet, waiting to be unleashed. That didn't seem very plausible. She coughed again and then looked over @[member="Mara Thorn"]. "I'm going out to fight. Keep me posted of major developments. Air support is inbound." Almost when she said the the high pitched whine of fighters could be heard in the distance. As she left the command post, the fighters screamed overhead and opened fire on the inbound droids, laying waste to a great many of them.

Running into the battle, she carried her double brand in her hand, aiming for the front lines. She saw Velok and Cai chasing some droid for a brief moment before she lost them in the junk field. Circling around, she made the front lines and an IG came at her. Twirling her blade, she struck, cutting the droid in half, and moving forward. What she didn't notice was that she was moving forward largely alone. That wasn't good. She turned to try and go back, when a sudden coughing fit came over her. She sucked in air, and fell to her knees. A droid kneed her in the face, spraying blood everywhere from a broken nose, and she collapsed backwards in an uncontrollable spasm. Two droids reached down to grab her and drag her off.

She could only watch, unable to move, as illness overtook her.

She glanced back again as she moved along, and saw the strange looking alien coming at her again. They were relentless. It wasn't going to help her in getting to a new vantage point. She needed to get free. Several droids deviated when her eyes settled on her attackers. They turned to come towards the two Force users, but that didn't protect her from the fact that the one was shooting lightning at her.

She grabbed a piece of debris, and tossed it in the way. Only problem was, the lightning blasted it back at her, which sent her flying off the junk pile to crash into the IG droids that were wading through. Something wasn't functioning properly now. She couldn't flex her left hand at all, fingers unmoving. Standing, she stared up the pile, and more IG droids flooded that way. She began to move deeper into the junk field, but keeping herself where she could see the two Force users, so that directions could be followed.

Zandra had just about had enough of this. For once, she was sick and tired of fighting. Zax didn't get to fight anymore. Just so she could win a bet. It wasn't fair!
For you, kid. I'll blow up a few clankers for you.
She was tearing into all that came her way. Didn't even matter anymore. She wasn't paying attention. It was all autopilot for her. She wanted to be elsewhere. She wanted to be in a cantina enjoying a few drinks with some annoyingly aggressive mandos, or that Bard that seems to always follow her around. She really, really, really wanted to be drunk now too. It was easier to fight when her brain was a sloshy mess. She could just go with the flow and not think. Lady luck did the rest.
But Lady Luck was always working for her. Just how she happened to spot a familiar face in the chaos.
Janira. Droids. Blood. A distraction.
Need your baby sis to come save you? Oh, I will never let you live this down.

Fighting nonstop for this long had never occurred to him. Sure, his knight training had prepared him for long extended combat and quick, decisive duels. But of course, nothing could prepare him for the real thing. By now he was fighting by himself, the other three survivors of the crash had long since been killed. But now was not the time to mourn. He had nearly made his way back to the Echani, he could tell from the clanking metal and the human battle cries. His white blade cut through durasteel husk after durasteel husk, anger and frustration fueling him. It was something new, invigorating. He knew that anger could lead to the dark side, but what was wrong with a little anger, a little ferocity? Nothing as far as he could see.

A blaster bolt glanced off his shoulder armor, causing him, pushing him forward. He was lost now. Surrounded by droids. His blinding anger had literally blinded him and now he found himself in a very awkward situation. "Kriffing droids..." he muttered, sweat dripping from his brow. It was hot inside his helmet and armor. But now wasn't the time to wish he had fans or a VI to keep track of the environment in his suit. Now was a time for action. Reaching down to his left side he clicked his white bladed shoto, another suvineer from his Imperial Knight days, and entered a wild battle frenzy, deflecting a bolt here, redirecting one there. It seemed hopeless...A blaster bolt knocked him forward, this one burning right through his armor and heating up his shoulder. "Gah!" Another bolt, dislodging his helmet. Cold metal cooling his face and causing his nose to snap. The butt of a rifle had knocked him to the floor. Was this the end?

Surrounded by IG droids, taking minor hit after minor hit and fighting for his life, the half-crippled Whiphid found fear and rage and frustration rising up inside him. His powers of mechu-deru turned droids against each other, but it wasn't enough...it was never quite enough.

He realized he might very well die here.

He found time to send a moment's bolt of lightning at KORAH before the droids overwhelmed him again. Fighting his way through, right arm almost useless, he stumbled over a figure that most definitely wasn't a droid. A quick barrage of weak Force Pushes cleared the ground around both him and Yusanis, and he hauled the Echani to his feet despite the agony in his shoulder. "Up, boy," he snarled. "Back-to-back, and this way. Cai's fighting the commander alone -- he needs our help."

A giant dark mass was rumbling towards him, how he hadn't sensed this beast now before him during the fight was beyond him. Was he friend or foe? He didn't-The shaman known as Velok hauled him up and onto his feet after pushing the droids away with a few weak pushes. Well that solved that mystery. But the Whipid's heroics wouldn't matter for long, they were still nearly surrounded, luckily the Velok's actions had thinned the lines to something doable. "Right, thank you." He said, reactivating his silver blade and storing the shoto. Back to back with a Whipid dark side user fighting off an army of droids. He would never have guessed this would happen in his life, not to him. With his senses restored it was time to fight, or more likely defend until they got to Cai. A blaster bolt deflected here, reflected there. Luckily these droids relied on blasters to fight and any up close soon fell victim to his lightsaber.

Janira wouldn't let Zandra hold it over her, especially since she didn't have a choice in the matter. Plus she would inevitably find out that her little sister's antics had gotten a member of her group killed before they'd landed on the planet. Yeah, she was going to be in trouble for that one. But as it was, Janira was in no place to do anything at all. Illness had a way of sneaking up on her at any time. Something on this world had begun to attack her. The auto-immune disorder that she had kept her from being safe from such things as most other people were. She was highly susceptible to diseases and other things. And now here she was, having fallen ill at the worst possible time, and captured by the droids they were fighting. At least these ones didn't have the capability of infecting her, not being connected to Omni as it were.

They drug her along through the junkfield. Out of the corner of a cloudy eye she spotted Zandra coming after her, but she didn't have a way to tell her not to follow, to leave her. What use was there in both of them getting killed? Did she trust Zandra to rescue her? Not really. The girl was too wily and impulsive. She could fight, but this was, seemingly, beyond her. She wished Zandra would turn around and go back to the lines where her fighting would be worth something. Silver eyes turned towards the droids as they drug her deeper into the junk field. She didn't know where she was being taken, but she was not afraid. If she was going to die, she'd go out fighting.

Cai heard the Whiphid's cry to slow his pace. He had a choice to make, catch up with and delay the droid until Velok could get to them, or wait for the Whiphid and move together. He wasn't worried about himself but there remained a distinct possibility that the slower, older, Whiphid would be surrounded and cut off. Finish the objective, or leave a comrade behind. The choice was clear. No holovid hero would ever leave a comrade behind, even if he was a Sith. "Hurry up Velok," he called stopping. The droids were closing in around him. With some concentration he sent a wave of telekinetic energy out from him. It knocked down the nearby droids and allowed him some breathing room. Where had he learned that? Kamon never taught him. Holovids told him it was possible but... he didn't have time to consider the possibilities. Droids were closing in once more. "Mass produced garbage..." he said, as if a taunt would work on a droid. Then again...

A lancing bolt of lightning flew out towards her as she stood watching the goings on. One white haired Force User had sent several droids flying away. Another had been taken down. The strange Force User was doing something to the droids, and then attacking her. She couldn't react quick enough and the bolt of electricity hit her, sending her flying backwards to land in a heap in a junk pile. Electricity ran through her circuits in high intensity.

For a while she lay there, powered down. Several droids came to her, though. Not the IG droids, but repair droids. They'd come from deep within the junk field and begun to quickly work on her. Circuits repaired. Power supply re-stabilized. Slowly, she powered back on, and the repair droids quickly left to go back into the junk field. Sitting upwards, she looked over at what was going on, and then stood. Slowly, she began to move deeper into the junk, but she kept looking back at the Force Users, watching and waiting.

The three Forcers formed a perimeter of mutual defense, holding back the waves of droids.

These droids are cobbled-together, Velok realized, but it didn't get much farther than that.

"There! The unique droid - the commander maybe!" Now he saw KORAH again, vanishing into the junk piles. "Let's fight our way that way. We've come too far to go back!"

Mara had been watching the feeds and with her at command, she wasn't about to let her comrades die. She sent the orders. First, Men surged out towards the two sisters, they fought with all the feriosity of the Echani as they first started with ion blasters before closing in and dominating the droids near them with double brands. It was a glourois sight to behold, several squads of Echani deployed in the knick of time.

Meanwhile plans flew overhead of the force users and began spraying the droids with fire, opening a path to the leader, they looped around for another pass, ready to cover their dash to the leader. mara kept responding to threats the best she could, she just hoped they had enough men.. and such. she wished they had damned tanks and some other heavy weapons.

An old Koensayr mapping skiff hovered above the battlefield, high above the range of most weaponry.

"Yeah, Control, it's looking like most of the droid reinforcements are coming from a staging point about ten klicks northwest of the prefab hold point we dropped. I'm picking up a bit of a subterranean cavity, so they might be tunnel egress points, but I'm also picking up a level of positronic emissions and some other spectra from the verbobrains of all those droids. At least some of that would come up through the ground from tunnels. I think there's a very decent chance we're right beside a primary staging point for the droid forces. Seems like too much of a coincidence..."

His sonic servodriver whirred, adjusting the mapping skiff's sensors. Each positronic signature got assigned a dot, and he went for time-lapse. A pattern took form -- long streams from the staging point to the battlefield, but also big loops and lines running out from the staging point in all directions. As if droids were going out and coming in, going out and coming in...

"There's some sort of interference. I'm going in."

The mapping skiff dove towards the staging point. With one hand, Connory flew the ship; with the other, he adjusted the sensors manually, using the sonic servodriver. As he dove over the staging point, the mapping cameras and sensors snapped. Ground-to-air fire rocked the mapping skiff, and he pulled up to get back out of range.

"There's something big down there, Control."

Following up beside the old Whippid Master and the others came Yuri Caedus. He had been dropped into the field by a drop ship after being notified of the combat taking place here, and the feeling through the force of the old masters fear surely if Velok feared for his life this was a fight worth having, and a glorious fight it would be; however, Yuri was still new to the usage of the force in combat so he refrained from using it as much as possible. Whilst coming up along side the Sith Master and Shaman Yuri turned his head to the Elder Sith Master before speaking in a stern tone relatively calmly, "Will defeating her stop the droids? Or at least give the time to defeat these manifestations?"

All that he could hope for was that the Sith Master had some sort of plan in order to get out of here, and to the last drop of his blood he would fight along side the Sith Master aiding him in whatever way needed to be done. There was no hatred or malcontent in his arrival upon Ord Mantell, the Master and the others could be in serious trouble which means any help gotten would have to be received. This was Yuri's shot a glory though, he knew that even though his glory walked hand in hand with his doom it was what must be done. So at that he turned towards the incoming battle that was going to take place for him.

He drew his swords from his back, flipping them around in his hands for a moment in an attempt to loosen not only his muscles but his mental state as well. He had trained for this, he had dreamed for this moment. Should he die in battle it would be an honorable death, that even though Mikhail had said he would die as nothing more than a nameless Sith he had done something that few had done or will do for the Empire. He took a deep breath in, his lungs expanding in mirror image with his chest expanding through his armored visage. His senses began to heighten not only as a natural occurrence of nerves but also through the force aiding him along his endeavors. His fur nestled against his glistening skin whilst he held the blades down to the side of his body his wrists locked and his fists tight around the hilts of them, and he waited for the Masters reply.

The men fought to get to Janira. On top of that, so did her sister. Fighters strafed, soldiers killed droids. They were so close. Two weapons blasts took out the droids hauling her around, but it wasn't enough to save her. As she fell to the ground, it opened up beneath her, swallowing her down into a pit. The pit hit one of the numerous tunnels that were running beneath the junk piles. Filled largely with more junk, they were also being inhabited by a great many droids. She was caught with a serious bought of coughing, that left blood spewing from her mouth, when the dust settled upon her. She stared up through the whole she'd come in through, wishing her sister was there reaching down for her.

She wasn't, though. The only thing reaching for her was a pair of old B2 Battle Droids. The grabbed her roughly, and hefted her between them. Dragging her along, her shins dragged through the dirt and debris as they took her deeper into the junk field towards the side that Connory had located amongst all of the debris. Things were starting to come together now. The source of the droids had been found, but the Echani Grand Overseer was captured and being taken to that place. Shelling it from orbit would be out of the question now. They'd have to go in on foot if they wanted to rescue her and destroy the whole thing. Mara would know what to do.

In an intense display of light Cai parried and attacked the droids with his lightsaber. The Echani focused on speed rather than power as he made quick work of those droids daring enough to aproach him. Cai looked at the droid woman. He heard the Whiphid call her out at the leader. Not caring for his own safety, and now knowing that the old Whiphid would be safe with this other Echani watching his back Cai lunged at the droid. His saber lit to life striking at the thing masquerading as a woman.

"Who knows?" Velok snarled at the newcomer, and moved on. Cai outpaced him yet again, leaving Velok with Yusanis and the newcomer. With a roar, the Whiphid flung himself forward. Droids scattered like bowling pins.

And once more, Velok found himself cut off from the group as another wave of droids swarmed them. He spied @[member="Janira Fenni"], or some other white-robed Echani, being dragged farther into the junk fields, and set off in that direction, trying to fight his way to the core of the enemy staging point. But the tides of droids shoved him back, repelling him, and he found himself once more with @[member="Cai Sanis"] and @[member="KORAH"] .

He stretched out his lightsabre towards KORAH and began to chant a mechu-deru incantation designed to paralyze her.

They were coming after her again. She felt tremors flow through her, something was wrong. The strange Force User, the Whiphid she realized now, was chanting something and it was slowing her processing speed. The other stabbed his lightsaber through her torso, narrowly missing the metal spinal column in her back, which would have destroyed her immediately. Still, her eyes were functioning, and a great many IG droids turned to come down upon the two Force users. Also, she still had her stutter fire blaster rifle in her hand, and it was aimed right at Cai's stomach. She slowly depressed the trigger, firing at the white haired warrior who'd impaled her with his lightsaber.

She needed to escape, which meant she needed to get him away from her while the IG's converged on the Whiphid. Deeper into the junk field. She needed to go deeper. She'd be safer near the center.

That hadn't killed her. Cai kept his face impassive as he considered the consequences. Some droids could survive after having limbs cut off and wholes put in them. He just didn't hit the vital spot. He left his ligthsaber in her body and narrowed his eyes divining a solution. Droids could survive alot of punishment when you consider pin point strikes and stabs, but to slice one through, that was another matter. The droid didn't attempt to run. Cai didn't smile as the droid made the deadly mistake. The blaster was pointed at his stomach and fired, the blast being deflected by his shield. Cai smiled and simply twisted his saber and drove it up diagnaly with both hands. Metal melted as another blast struck the shield. He changed directions going back across the central point one more time as the droid fired one more shot from it's blaster. The Saber split the droid through the middle just as blaster-bolt penetrated the last remaining shield power and thumped into his stomach...

The mechu-deru incantation reached completion. At this point, disabling the droid with Ionize or a similar power might scramble its circuitry, and they needed to know where this droid fell in the command structure. The higher KORAH was, the better able the Echani forces would be to trace the communications networks and find the highest possible leader.

Metal sheeting rose from a nearby junk pile. Velok's sabre hand waved, and the sheeting moved to wrap around KORAH for safe transport purposes.

"We need to hurry, either forward or back to base -- they took Janira Fenni."

Comms reports trickled in -- the capture of an Echani leader, the capture of a droid leader -- and the little Koensayr mapping skiff turned a hard, fast loop. With the sonic servodriver in one hand and the helm controls in the other, the Bard recalibrated the scanners for organics, and found a red dot that could only be @[member="Janira Fenni"].

He swooped low, dropping an electrified Connor net, but missed the droids that were dragging Janira. Gritting his teeth, the Bard swung the unarmed skiff around for another pass, trying to think of options. For now, his overflights should have told Janira that someone knew where she was. That would have to be enough for the moment.
