Knowing Your Place

The Queen of Zygerria inclined her head towards the stranger in greeting, then responded in the most regal of tones that could ever have been heard.

“Greeting Krius Syonis. I am Alviarin.”

The telling of her name was something utterly unique. Nemene knew that the man likely wouldn't understand that, but it made him special. For her to tell him his name meant that she trusted him...at least partially, this was because it was Nemene who had brought him here, and she who had introduced him.

“Mr. Syonis and I were just speaking of our influence in the galaxy Alviarin, and our kinds...dominance.” They were far enough away that no one would hear them, so Nemene spoke in confidence.

The Zygerrian Queen nodded slightly, as if understanding completely.

“Oh? Do Tell Mr. Syonis.”

Her voice was coy, but genuinely interested.

Sharing a fleeting glance towards Nemene, he smiled at her little introduction. It was unusual to be talking to someone of Alviarin's status so openly, but he had nothing to lose from these few moments.

"Forgive me if I appear blunt, but your status as Queen doesn't detract me from the fact that you and I are the same, regardless of your title and all it delivers to you."

Krius stepped forward one step and held out his hand, calling to him a goblet she held in her delicate hand.

"The ease of which we command our power shouldn't be hidden. We can call anything to use that we want, and we can break the mind and body of anyone we choose. Yet we are afraid to do so openly."

He turned his head slightly, indicating to those away from them, his tone of voice dipping slightly into an almost perverse enjoyment.

"We could wipe these parasites out in a heartbeat right now. But everyone is so restrained by a status. Kings, Queens, Jedi, Sith, whatever. Why should a title or a hierarchy dictate how and why we use the power bestowed upon us at birth."

Krius turned back, swilling the sweet smelling drink around in the goblet in his hand."

"I am a few steps away from obtaining what I need to be in a position to find those whom I feel can send a shockwave out in the galaxy. To let everyone know that we are the real power to be feared and respected out there without fear of showing who we are, and also to wipe out any of those prehistoric beings who stand in our way."

He flicked his eyes to Nemene, and then back to Alviarin.

"My enemies are everywhere but they are unknown to me, and my allies are sparse but I do not care for many. When the time is right, I would be willing to stand with you in sending that shockwave out to those who stand in the way of our domination as the true master race."

He paused.

"But you are not the be all and end all of my intentions. Should you not feel my motive is worthy, I will gladly leave this place and let you fester amongst those beneath you as you sit by and do nothing."

He reached out, offering the goblet back to the Queen before him.

"Thank you for your time, your Highness."

The Queen of Zygerria stared at the man for a moment, than at the goblet that was being held out to her. She pondered for a moment, thinking about what paths lay ahead of her. Alviarin had always been a shrewd woman, capable of great plot and plans. It had been what had won her the throne over her nine other siblings, manipulation and forethought.

Suddenly Alviarin clenched her fist.

The goblet in Krius' hand was crushed into a tiny silver ball, compressing into a perfectly smooth sphere in a micro second. She let out a purr as the sphere floated gently into her palm. Smiling as she looked at the reflection in it.

“I could kill everyone in this room with only this...excepting Nemene of course.”

The Queen of Rattatak looked at her friend, a smile on her face.

“When you are ready. Return here. I would have more...details.”

That was the last that Krius would hear from Alviarin as a group of women came up to her. All of them were high ladies, two force sensitive, though untrained. Alviarin looked to Nemene and the brunette understood the hint. She led Krius away with a smile, speaking as they walked.

“She liked you.” She said with a slight smirk

To say Krius was expecting a display of her power would be a lie, it took him by surprise, but a welcome one. He didn't fight it, and let her take the sphere from him effortlessly. He shook away the remnants of the sweet drink now dribbling over his hand and boot.

Listening to her , Krius had everything he needed to know. She was powerful, and she wasn't afraid to show it. As he took the hint their brief introduction was over, Krius all but nodded to her with a small smile, chuckling to himself as he did.

Leaving her entourage in the company of Nemene again, Krius looked to her as they walked.

"I am so very glad."

Following her out of the Royal Court and back into the cool exterior of the palace, he turned once more to face the brave, bold woman before him.

"I assume our time ends here also? I get the feeling your time is required...elsewhere." His eyes darted to the palace.

“Yes. I believe it does.” Nemene intoned almost too quietly as they stepped back into the brisk night air.

Her hair fluttered slightly with a gust of wind, and she smiled. She would have to return to Rattatak and tell Evelynn of this little development. A pleased feeling ran through her, yes this could lead to a great many things. Her smile turned on him, her bright orange eyes gazing into dull gray.

“We will meet again Krius Syonis.” The words were not quite a command, but it was heavily implied in her tone that he did not have a choice In the matter. “If you have need of me, you know where to find me.”

Granted Rattatak was a long way from here, and getting to her on the planet wasn't actually that easy. But there was a certain challenge in her words, and if he couldn't manage to find his way to her there, then what power did he really have anyway?

Smiling, Nemene walked away.

Krius looked into the fiery, almost demonic, eyes of Nemene as she spoke and he couldn't shake the fact her words echoed truth. They would meet again, he was sure, because her devotion to succeeding as a master race in the galaxy was mirrored by his own and he would be stupid not to exploit her power and connections.

But for now, he had made a small ripple. A tiny one, but one that was big enough to now spread out to where Nemene would travel to with Krius firmly in her memory.

Standing tall and sweeping his arm before him, lowering his head as he did to grant her the royal welcome he neglected when they met, Krius spoke softly.

"Thank you for your company Nemene Athaem Talith, Queen of Rattatak.”

Watching her walk away, Krius was satisfied he had discovered just the tip of the iceberg of what real power was in the galaxy.

"Thank you indeed, you beautiful creature.”

Nemene Talith. Rattatak.

He would remember those names...
