Lakeside Love [Coci Sinopi]

Laekia
Sanctum Space

Ever since the night the two spent in their cave on Catia, there had been little in the way of thoughts other than those of [member="Coci Sinopi"]. That night they formed a bond stronger than any other, both physically and spiritually. He was hers, and she was his. The artifact they recovered was turned over to the Silver Council, and they returned to what they had been doing before. Only now every thought they had was of eachother; their scent, their eyes, their features. Tonight they would meet again, only under much more controlled circumstances. No falling rocks, no stormy weather, and no cold caves to spend the night in.

Thurion had made a reservation at a diner he'd scoped out and eaten at before, so he knew the food was good as well as the service. He didn't want anything to go wrong for just one night. He actually felt nervous as he sat at their table, awaiting Coci's arrival. The napkin he'd been tearing at was now nothing but tiny pieces of paper upon the red tablecloth, and his right heel was drumming a steady beat against the floor as he looked around him for signs of her. It wasn't because she was late that he was waiting, but rather because he was there early to make sure he would not be late.

For the occasion he wore something a bit more fancy than what she'd seen him wear before, but he still kept his leather jacket. He'd always felt weirded-out by wearing suits and formal-wear, but luckily this diner was far from that fancy. Being a Jedi, he was not a rich man by any extent. He'd get discounts at most stores due to his status, but there was no steady pay for simply being a Jedi. Often times people would grant him items and wares for free as a sign of respect, to which he was always very grateful. When it came to credits, he would always refuse. "I wouldn't know what to spend it on", was his usual reply.

Then suddenly he felt her in the Force. She was close, he knew it. It made his heart race and his breathing quickened, and his eyes darted from right to left and left to right hoping he would notice her approaching.

Her eyes darted around hoping to find the place. Although Laekia enjoys the life of freedom provided by the wonderful people of the Sanctum, she is anxious. Only because she is nervous. Her stomach unable to settle to only increase this with each step she took. Her black shoes clipping along the pavement slowed as she finally notice the sign over the meeting place. Her face smiled as she came to a halt and place her hand over her stomach to comfort it.

This was to good to be true, a wonderful man wanted to spend time with her, loves her and for once, just one day they could be together without the dramas of the Galaxy. She began to walk once more, and soon entered the restaurant. She could sense his presence and her head turned toward him with a smile. She quickly brushed down the skirt, it did not need it, it simply was nerves.

The waiter spoke to her, but she did not hear him, she did not mean to be rude as she walked toward the table.

"I got lost, sorry I am late", a fine thing indeed for a Jedi Shadow to get lost and she smiled.

As she made it to the table, Thurion rose to his feet as a sign of courtesy. The lady should be seated first, he'd learned from looking it up on the holonet. He stepped around the table to pull out her chair for her. As she took her seat, he managed to sneak in a series of kisses at the side of her neck, inhaling her scent as it filled him with all the desires he'd enjoyed last time they were together. "I've missed you", he whispered by her ear before passing her to sit down opposite of her. A quick glance down at the small pile of paperbits he'd created from the torn-up napkin made him as subtly as possible scoop them over the edge and down onto the floor. Embarrassmet struck him as she obviously took notice of this. "So, uh... How have you been? Done anything... exciting since last we met?" he started off. A terrible start, but a start nonetheless.

The waiter waltzed by their table, eager to take their order. "Oh, right..." He'd not even bothered to look at the meny. Poodoo. "I'll, uh... I'll have what the lady wants", he finally said. Stupid thing to say - now all the unwanted attention was on her. Once their orders were placed, he looked into Coci's eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. In her eyes he saw what he'd seen back in their cave on Catia. He drowned in her dark eyes, melting his resolve and taking away his worries once more. "You look beautiful..." he said while his hand slid across the table to caress hers.

Her eyes followed him as he stood up, taking in everything about him. Although this is not a posh restaurant, which she did not mind at all, he looked handsome. She had decided to ware something different to her on duty clothes or Jedi robes, even went out shopping for the occasion .. just so she would please him.

Coci’s skin tickled once more as his beard touch the skin on her neck, his lips sending warmth through her body once more, and the memory of the night spent in the cave came flooding back .. and she blushed. She tried to cover this by taking her seat and adjusting herself for comfort, her eyes would not meet his until now.

“I have been organising investigations into those Hammers, sent a report to Master E’ron on the mission …”, she said with a slightly growing smile. “Nothing exciting”, she added which was true enough. Coci sensed an awkwardness around him, the same feeling he might receive from her, but it is a good feeling and one fuelled by anticipation.

As his hand reached for her’s, and caressed her fingers she too played with his. “I missed you too”, she said softly. The waiter interrupted their moment, and Coci sat back to give him the attention.

The menu was placed before her and she looked it over, “I shall have some Smoked Nerf, with Corellian Potatoes and salad and a glass of Whyren’s Reserve please”, she finished and placed the menu on the table. A questioning look to Thurion to see if that was to his taste.

Once the order was placed, Coci took his hand once more, “And you look handsome”, she smiled at his compliment. He is more then handsome to her, he is majestic. “I do not know that much about you, where are you from?”, she asked very curious as she had noted a vast difference in him to others. “You have very strong hands”, she said as she turned his hand in hers and played with his palm.

"I'll have the same. Except, uh... do you have blue milk?" The waiter simply looked down at him for a second, nodded and left. "I don't drink", Thurion explained to his dinner date. Ever since Asha first introduced him to the joy that is blue milk, he would always prefer it to any other drink. He'd never tasted alcohol before, and had seen too many poor sods ruin their lives because of it.

Then came her question of where he was from, his origins. "I was raised on a planet called Pelagon; tiny blot on the map no-one's ever bothered to know about. My brother was the one who raised me after our mother died, until we were taken into an orphanage. It was after that I was found by the Jedi." He decided to skip over the tragic portions of his growing up. No need to put a downer on things.

The waiter returned with their respective drinks and scurried off.

"It wasn't until recently that I found out who my father was, or is as it were; a race called the Valkyri from a planet by the name of Midvinter. We met after he saved me and my daughter from certain death." He took a sip of his blue milk. "Pirates, you see. Shot us down over Midvinter." He didn't pay attention to the fact that he'd just mentioned having a daughter, which would more than likely be of interest to the woman before him.

In a few short sentences, Thurion had told her much. She took a small sip from her Corellian wine, which was one of the best vintages. Although Coci is Corellian, and can drink like one, she does not as it effects duty.

She wanted to find out more of his childhood, but something indicated he did not wish to speak on that for now. And so she would not push it. "Midvinter? I know nothing of the planet except that is in Levantine Sanctum space. So you are Val.. Valkyri?", she hoped she pronounced that correctly. As much as this was interesting to her, more so the mention of his daughter. She would be foolish if she did not think Thurion would have had another love in his life at some time.

"You have a daughter, I am pleased that you and her got out of that situation with your lives. Tell me about her", she is sincerely interested and a smile would show him so, however she is also curious as to what happened between Thurion and the mother. But that too will have to wait for the right time, as it is not really her business.

"Only one part of me is. The other is human", he explained. His hand caressed hers across the table as his nervosity faded away. Her earnest willingness to hear his backstory made him want to open up more with each passing moment. His eyes were fixed at her hand in hers.

"Nina is her name. She's... she's not mine by blood, I adopted her a few years back. She now considers me her only father, and I her as my daughter. She's become a lot like me, for better or worse, I guess." He raised his gaze to look into her eyes, his face now steely determination. "I want her to have the upbringing I wish I had as a child. She's the keeper of my soul, so to speak; everything I do I do to leave the galaxy a better place than how I found it, for her to grow up into."

He broke eye-contact with her and looked around for their orders, mostly just to find a way to change the subject. He didn't want current events and thoughts of war to take away from their evening together. "I'm sorry, I've been rambling. What about you? What's your story?" he asked her.

It is clear to Coci, Thurion is uncomfortable with speaking of the past and for a moment she met his eyes when they fixed with determination. She sat there considering the man before her, much time would be needed to truly get to know him which is something she is prepared to do. What is in his eyes is something that is reflected in her own desires for the Galaxy, even though he has a more good reason, the life of his daughter.

"Nina is a pretty name, .. I hope to meet her one day", she would only say, not wishing to place more discomfort on him. Their order of food would soon arrive, which Coci hoped might take his mind off the past, at least for a short time. One can never erase the past, time never heals, as they say, time simply gives you the means to cope better.

"I was born on Corellia, and raised there. Went to school in one of the best education systems my family could provide, and entered the Military College there after. I meet some people .. a small group of like mind to me, and we formed a resistance movement to fight the evils of the galaxy. I lost many friends in that time, and after we disbanded I joined the Army of Light. To not only continue my duty as Jedi but my purpose to do that same as you", she would end there. She wanted to tell him more, she wanted to tell him what she does now, but they would have to be alone.

She took his hand in hers, and squeezed lightly in a form of reassurance, that she would always be there for him, in a time of need. However, once more the waiter appeared placing their order before them.

"I had you figured for the military type", he smiled. "Not many Jedi tend to use blasters of any kind, after all." Their food arrived, and they were both treated to what she'd ordered for them. Before they would begin eating, Thurion raised her hand to his lips and kissed it, taking the opportunity to breathe in her scent once more. It exhilarated him, endowed him to no end.

"I love you, Miss Sinopi. With body and soul", he confessed. "Tonight there are no titles or ranks, no wars or politics. It's just the two of us, enjoying eachother's company." With that said, he raised his glass towards her. Once they'd toasted he took a sip of it before digging into his plate of food.

Coci only paused briefly at his words, her eyes lifted to him and she smiled. "Tonight is all for us, and I love you more then life".

Her eyes flicked around the room, taking in everyone about them. The place is not that busy tonight, with a few couples scattered around the tables. A smile played on her lips as she took another mouth full of smoked nerf. She stretched her back to look over his head toward the window and the view of the outside night sky.

She dropped her gaze back to Thurion, and watched him delighting in the meal. "I hope the food is to your taste, I must admit I am hungry now".

Once they'd finished their meal, Thurion paid for the food and drinks before they sauntered off towards the nearby beach. He took her by the hand as they set foot in the silky-smooth sand stretching for miles along the lakeside. Tiny waves created a soft background noise pleasing to the ear, making for an aura of serenity. It was late and there were no visitors other than themselves.

"So... How did you like the food?", he asked her with a sly grin. "I found it to be more than satisfactory, myself." They reached the edge of the water, and here Thurion chose to sit down in the sand, making room for Coci to fall into his lap. He kicked off his boots and let his feet be caressed by the waves as they just reached his toes. He looked up at the nightsky, gazing at the billions of stars adorning the darkness above.

Holding his hand gently, Coci played with his fingers. The walk to the beach, slow which she liked. The air around them held the scent of salt which tickled her nose but filled the senses. The sound of the crashing waves became louder as they approached, a gently soothing noise that seemed to take all cares away. The presence of Thurion equally so.

A smile broke her face at his question. "The dinner was delightful, thank you. I enjoy it utterly". A soft giggle escaped her lips.

She looked down to him as she sat on the sand, inviting her to join him. She moved and sat in his lap and placed her arms around his neck. A kiss on his soft warm lips, only barely touching. She moved in closer to his chest and joined him to view the stars.

"Such beauty there is out there, such wonders", she did not wish to labour on the horrors, they both knew of them.

As she joined him in his stargazing, he wrapped his arms around her front and placed a tender kiss upon her cheek. "Back on Pelagon, my brother and I would often make up stories about what lies beyond the stars. How all the different species looked, names of planets yet to be discovered, adventures yet to be had. He told me we would find out together, but..." He got quiet. The details of his brother's death would not be a pleasant subject for either of them, even though he had learned to come to terms with his loss.

"When I was knighted I went on a pilgrimage stretching across the known galaxy. I'd been restricted to Tython and Coruscant during my apprenticeship, and then later Teth. I wanted to see what everyone else already seemed to know about for myself. I met a lot of people, some bad and some good, including Nina on Umbara and later our mutual friend, Master E'ron, on Tython."

As he spoke he tightened his embrace of Coci, relishing the closeness they shared and the love he felt for her. He inhaled her sweet scent coupled with the fresh air surrounding them. It wasn't cold, but he still wished to keep her warm and safe.

She relished the warmth he provided for her. Her placed her arms over his and held tight. A smile slowly forming on her lips as she listened to his story. For a moment she wondered about the Brother he spoke so kindly on, but there again, hesitation from him. This man is a mystery .. full of complexes she has yet to discover. Something wonderful to look forward to, as they spend time in each others company.

"I spent some time of Tython as well, security and all that", she said in a throw away comment. "An interesting place, much to be learned there". She hoped one day to return to it but there is so much to do as duty requires.

"Tell me more of this pilgrimage .. but I want you to tell me of Nina", she looked up to his face. Anyone of importance in Thurion's life would become hers.

"Well", he began. "She's of Umbaran heritage, with stark-white hair and blue eyes. She's the tiniest thing, too", he chuckled. "What probably stands out the most about her is her inability to speak. She's a mute, only able to speak using touch-telepathy. If her skin touches yours, she can communicate like we would through telepathy." He pondered for a second. "Let's see, what else... She likes to draw and paint. I think she finds comfort in putting her thoughts down on paper."

He smiled as he thought of her. "But what I feel when I think about Nina is her kindness. Tenderness. She wouldn't hurt a fly, even were she able to. I love her as much as a father could ever love his daughter." He looked down into Coci's black eyes, mirroring the shining stars above. "And I love you", he whispered as he leaned in for a kiss.

She just remained in his arms warm from the cool night air. Coci closed her eyes as she listened to his gentle voice speak of the little girl he loves so much. She is so pleased for Thurion that he feels such emotions for another and she could not think of a better father then what he would be, that he is.

Her interest did rise more as he mentioned her communication abilities, fascinating. Coci knew from this that Nina was something special, and no wonder he loves her. She felt his body move slight and she opened her eyes to look up to his face and then his lips on hers. She parted hers as he drew near and kissed him back, a gentle warm kiss filled with love. She twisted her body to be more front on to him, even though she could feel coolness of the night on her skin, she did not mind.

Her lips continued to kiss him, his beard playing around her mouth and that wonderful scent of snow covered pine returned to her, it is a scent now written on her heart.

He leaned back, pulling her down along with him to lie on top of him as they shared more kisses. This whole thing seemed so... surreal, as if it was too good to be true. Ever since he woke up after their first night in that cave on Catia he felt as if living in a dream. If such was the case, he wished never to wake up from it. Should it turn into nightmare, he would fight it. Or, is this how 'normal' people feel all the time when spending time with their loved ones? People without knowledge of the Force and the duties one must uphold, who live every day like it's their last? He had no idea of how a regular citizen of any system or government thinks or feels. It's like an entirely different world.

Deciding not to overthink it at an intimate time such as this, he would store away those thoughts for later, for when he required introspection and reflection through meditation. Right now he wished to remain in the moment, with his loved one in his arms and her lips upon his. "I don't deserve you", he spoke softly, looking up into her eyes. He brushed away a few strands from her face as he lost himself in their gaze. "I can't lose you. If anything were to happen to you..." He was interrupted by her finger upon his lips, effectively shushing him.

His body, strong and lean, pulled her around and down to lay on the sand. Words were simply not adequate to describe her feelings for him, she thought she had known love, in the past, but no. That had been nothing compared to how she felt about Thurion. Coci could not deny that she held reservations, considering how things had been, one who had confessed love for her, only to prefer the company of another, the other just simply disappeared without word.

But this is Thurion, someone who holds the virtues to her heart and she knew he meant every word, he is an honest man. “You will not lose me, not even if death takes me”. Her finger rested gently on his lips, in hope to stop his fearful thoughts. If she is honest with herself, she holds the same fears as he.

“Everything you are and everything you hold dear, I swear to protect .. you are a better person then I am and that is why it is you that is the more important and I will see no harm come to you. You deserve everything and if what you want is me, then I am ours”, it is she that questions if she has the right to this happiness.

Coci leaned down and kissed his lips, her heart opened up and through her kiss, her loved poured through to his heart. Her hand came to his face, cupping it and she caressed his skin.

As she kissed him, his hands sought hers and their fingers intertwined. He brought them up over his head to rest against the sand, leaving him at the full mercy of the woman he loved. The waves grew in power and size, now large enough to reach them were they lay. It didn't matter. They were both absorbed into eachother, with no thoughts on the world around them. He felt his boots getting wet from the waves along with the bottom of his pants, but all his mind was focused on was her and to pleasure her. His lips kissed their way from her lips down her neck. The next wave struck them, now soaking them both.

"Do you want to get out of here?"

Her body stretched as he raised his arms over their heads. A short breath escaped her mouth as he kissed her neck. Her feet felt the water of the oceans gently at first, before a stronger waves washed over them. Her face looked down at him in surprise, and then smiled ... and for the first time ... in a very very long time, Coci laughed.

She rolled off him pulling him with her until he was on top of her, she continued to laugh, more out of complete joy now then the situation of the wave. "No I never want to leave this place", she finally said smiling and holding him to her.

"But if you do, then lets go", she said whispering in his ear, then nuzzling close. She would walk hand in hand with him into the abyss if he so desired.
