The Sun Guard were a distant memory for Clan Thoth. The Echani occupation of hundreds of years left the Thyrsian people broken under the chains of slavery, the culling of young, able-bodied men for the Sun Guard, and the scars of war, famine, and unchecked crime. The Echani overlords cared nothing for Thyrsus: the Thyrsians were a bleak reminder of their unknown origins, and starkly contrasted the Echani in every shape and form. And so, the founders of Clan Thoth escaped into The Mountain Shield of Thyrsus: a place so inhospitable that even the Thyrsians had yet to conquer it. Until Clan Thoth.
The founding members of Clan Thoth endured the fierce lashes of The Mountain Shield’s terrible ionic storm on their backs. The oppressive heat of the twin suns of Thyrsus felt even closer than ever before, sapping the will of even the strongest Thyrsians. The founder of Clan Thoth, the great Stormbreaker, forged the Storm Aegis, a massive force-imbued device that attracted the wrath of the ionic storms of The Mountain Shield and channeled the energy to project a massive cloaking shield that further protected Clan Thoth.
The Stormbreaker ascended to the most desolate mountain peak of The Mountain Shield, enduring the worst of the ionic storms raging across the range. As he dragged his flayed and exhausted body to the peak, he placed and activated the Storm Aegis. Imbuing the device with all the Force he could gather as well as his own life, the device was activated and soon constructed a gigantic cloaking shield weaved with the surging electric energy from The Mountain Shield’s most brutal and violent storms. As the Stormbreaker died, the founding members of Clan Thoth gathered at the Storm Aegis and vowed to remember their sacrifice.
Clan Thoth has been defined by its fierce isolationism, forcing to rely on themselves for all aspects of life. Each life of Clan Thoth was precious and valuable, only granted through the sacrifice of the Stormbreaker, and so, every individual was raised and expected to dedicate their lives for the clan in order to pay their life debts. Failures of laziness and character led to severe punishment, the worst of which was banishment from Clan Thoth. Banishment, in order to keep Clan Thoth’s secrecy, required the minds of the banished to be completed wiped, rendering them little more than mindless creatures roaming The Mountain Shield. Over the past few hundred years, the banished devolved into primitive tribes
As each life of Clan Thoth was valuable and resources were extremely limited, at the age of 20, each member of Clan Thoth was given an option: seal themselves within Storm Aegis to remain in suspended animation until Clan Thoth could reveal itself when Thyrsus was free or choose to leave the clan.
Those who left the clan became members of the Mountain Guild, contracting the skills they honed in Clan Thoth for valuable resources to be sent to Clan Thoth. Only the Guildmaster of the Mountain Guild knew the true location of Clan Thoth and everyone in the Mountain Guild had never seen the true appearance of the Guildmaster; despite this, the Guildmaster gained their deepest respect due to his endless wisdom, multitude of skills, and ability to effortlessly defeat any strong-headed challengers.
When guildmembers had to retire, either through old age or disability, the Guildmaster would guide them once again to Clan Thoth to serve as mentors to the new generation. This new generation would be comprised of the children of those in Clan Thoth and any infant orphans that had great potential, whom would be brought to Clan Thoth by the Guildmaster every year.
Leo Thoth was the son of one of the strongest Chieftains in her generation: Leah Thoth was a great wielder of the Force and was able to use her affinity with the Force to control the ionic storms to a certain extent. As her connection to the Force grew, she was able to command the ionic storms of The Mountain Shield, and furthermore, refine the untamed energy within the plasma through Force imbuement. Her ultimate creation was Leo, who was birth from her own genetic material as a template and imbued with her Force to create the “perfect” child. Personally training Leo in all aspects a proper Thyrsian required, Leo was brutally trained for the entirety of life, relying on the Force and advanced medical technology to sustain his body from the intense injuries and damage resulting from his mother’s training.
As soon as Leo turned 20, he immediately chose to travel to the galaxy and left Clan Thoth, perhaps in fear or in curiosity. Either way, the galaxy is for Leo to seize…
