Well... A while back, Circe had mentioned bringing Spencer Jacobs to her personal planet, intending to show the woman that she should indulge every once in a while. Spencer had taken a rain-check a week or two back, and now, the two women finally had the opportunity to once again visit. It was due to that that Circe's shuttle was on the way to where she knew the Peregrine would most likely be.

And there was another good reason for the two women to meet. Aside from Circe having the opportunity to train again, she had grown significantly tainted. Circe's joining the Lords of Shadows, more specifically her twisted encounter with Kaine Zambrano, had tainted her spirit to new depths of corruption. Perhaps Spencer would have the opportunity to speak with Circe about this.

Until then, this was a routine pickup.

Spencer could be found tinkering with a holocron in the middle of the meditation room on the Peregrine. She had taken to the art and was slowly mastering the creation of the small devices. Each hand their own unique abilities and were able to store memories and essences for thousands of years. Biting her lower lip she crafted the shell a bit and made it a bit more unique, the holocron she was creating would be used as a teaching tool – whose essence would go in she didn’t know, but the thought and the practice was what counted.

Something was coming up on the radar of the cloaked ship and she wandered over – once again barefoot in the middle of space. The cloak of the Peregrine dropped as she allowed her influence to spread through the area. She recognized the aura coming towards her. She leaned against the bridge controls and opened communication with Circe.

“Surprised to see you this far out, how did you know I liked to hide out here?”

"I know you well enough to know your hiding holes." She paused, saying very little as she prepared to dock with the Peregrine. "But most of all, I believe you and I have a spa appointment to keep that you put back a couple weeks ago." She was of course referencing what had happened with the two of them after Spencer had nearly died during the Dark Harvest incident. "Now it's time."

The airlock was officially stabilized as Circe exited her own craft, the distinctly darker aura she now sported becoming all too apparent to the Echani queen as she drew closer. Soon, the two would meet for the first time since that fateful day.

Since the day Circe had attempted to kill her.

Spencer raised an eyebrow as the woman was allowed onto her vessel, she remembered the promise to go to this spa and relax. Though that was all before the green woman decided to attempt to kill her, which was the reason why Spencer attempted to avoid the hybrid for the past few weeks. She stayed busy and the evidence was on her ring finger, she twisted the metal for a moment as she sensed the darkness surrounding Circe. The feeling put her on edge slightly, but she did her best to remain as calm as possible.

“Before we even fathom the thought of this spa appointment, I’m sure there’s a lot going on in your head that you need to put on the table. What you said the last time we saw each other was quite venomous.”

Arms rested against her chest as she crossed her bare feet over each other. A part of her hoped she didn’t get sick, if she did she would have to hear the lecture of being barefoot in space. She had misplaced her booties somewhere in the cabin, it wasn’t a terrible loss.

Circe wandered through the halls of the Peregrine, an exceptionally familiar place. She had mapped the deck plan out quite a while ago after the first time she met Ashin and Spencer. She had paid quite a price then, both monetarily and in other ways since, and there were times when she questioned whether she'd have been better off if she never came to Void Station. Finally arriving at Spencer's location, the woman kept a straight and emotionless face as she heard what the Echani queen had to say. And so it was time to say something back.

"I was exceedingly angry with you and Ashin at the time. I may have meant everything hurtful I said towards you, I may not have. I suppose the only way to find out..." She tapped on her right temple.

"...you go in here."

Spencer moved to actually invade the woman’s head and get the answer she wanted, but stopped herself. She remembered the time with Jorus and the recent event with Aledis along with the time she entered Circe’s mind in hopes of helping. It seemed Spencer had a knack for stumbling over things she didn’t want to know or see. Shaking her head lightly, she allowed her arms to fall to her waist.

“Circe the last time I entered your mind I unlocked a few things that should have remained locked up. How about for once we discuss things out in the open like adults. Why are you so angry with Ashin and I? I understood your frustration, but what now? How can I fix this?”

The last thing she wanted was a ticking time bomb, Circe had potential and she was drawing close to unlocking it fully. Spencer worried about the shift towards the dark side, but Circe had always had that inside of her the affinity to the darkness. Sighing softly she waited for the woman’s answer, she didn’t want to dive into her mind and she put up her mental barriers to prevent the woman from doing so as well.

“What you said, about being the Chosen one, I will disagree with that statement right now. The Chosen One has passed and in his wake he had brought about several things in the Force. He changed the face of the Jedi and the Sith. I’m nothing compared to that.”

Circe could only paused and cross her arms as Spencer refused to tinker with the woman's mind. It did make sense why she did it, to a degree, but as to how the problem could be fixed... "Well, let's see. You're more powerful than me. My frustration with you resulted in you stabbing me with a Dagger of Midnight Black in a move that definitely would've killed any ordinary meatbag sentient. Your wife -" she motioned to the ring on Spencer's finger that she had attempted to ignore - "has on multiple occasions threatened to kill me, and has definitely degraded my physical condition with her Force Lightning and other powers. Remember when she threatened to crush me and smash me into a pile of plant goop, and almost did so?"

She paused for a moment, letting reminders of the antagonism sink in before she continued. "I want to grow in my Force power until I am your and Ashin's equal. But every day, every moment I realize more about you and Desmius, I realize that such a thing's never going to happen."

Then Spencer attempted to write off the relationship to the Chosen One. Circe felt it was about time to respond.

"Well, let's see... You're Force-born, with what I assume to be a midichlorian count of over 15,000 per cell, grew up and had your Force powers discovered by the Jedi, joined the Jedi, was found by the Emperor - in your case, the Empress - and turned to the Dark Side, stood as the apprentice of the ruler of the Empire, left the Dark Side and redeemed yourself by focusing on finding balance in the Force... Yeah, sorry, but the only major differences I see between you and him are your gender, your not being a whiny prat, and your superior humility. And because of that, you're ultimately much better than him. After all, you didn't die."

Spencer chuckled softly, the story of the former chosen one; Anakin Skywalker did seem similar to her own story. Though despite the gender differences there were several others and Spencer sighed and decided to correct the hybrid woman. Like she had done with Ashin, she denied the claim, Spencer didn’t feel like a chosen one, nothing came easily for her except the force – but that was a given. The girl was born and forged within the will of the Force of course with the help of her father and mother. Spencer also was a Twin, so there was another with her gifts as well.

“I see you’ve also done some research. First, I don’t know off hand my midi-chlorian count – I just know I have enough to control the Force. The Jedi didn’t discover me, my mother sent my brother and I to the Orders after our inability to conform to the way the Witches lived – we were too different and stuck out like sore thumbs. Someone sent Ashin to find me, I don’t fully know why or who, but she was sent to find me. She did and in the end I found a teacher who led to other teachers teaching me everything they knew. I never feel to the darkside, I was tempted, but I learned how to control it and seek the balance I long for. It’s where I feel safe and where I feel right.”

She took a deep breath and adjusted herself against the terminal. The buttons were starting to get bothersome, but she needed to get the rest of the story out.

“I’ve never been fully dark, nor have I ever gone back to the light. I remain in the middle for you cannot judge either side unless you see the greater picture before us. The Force is unbiased and netural – it is those who control and manipulate the force that change its intent. I intend to harness the Force in its natural and stable form.”

A smirk spread across her face.

“As for dying, I’ve come close – but I’ve proven to be quite stubborn at times, but I’m sure you’ve figured that out already haven’t you? I’ve told Ashin this already, I’m not a chosen one – I’m just Spencer and in the end I just want to be happy and to ensure that I leave this galaxy a bit better once I die and become one with the Force.”

"One of the Sith Lords preceding Darth Sidious did research on midichlorian manipulation. Evidently, A midichlorian count of 15,000 per cell or greater indicates that the person is Force-born, evidently, so I assume your count is greater than that. Well... You were different, fair enough. As for whom Ashin was told to find you by - could it have been Velok? Considering all the things people rumor him being up to, it seems like almost everything that happens in the galaxy is Velok's doing."

"So, you're a Unifying Forcer... Interesting. Same view I have - intent determines whether something is light or dark, not predetermined perceptions of Force powers or nonsense like that. "

"And you'll never understand death unless you experience it... but then again, I know you won't be dying. Not while I'm still alive, that is." She paused, crossing her arms. "Regardless of what you claim, you'll always be on the pedestal, up there with Ashin and Force knows who else, while I continue to drudge around in the muck like the galactic form of scrum people seem to think I am."

And with that, she turned and sat down, turned away from Spencer as she placed her head in her hands.

Spencer remained still as she listened to Circe talk. The woman seemed to understand what was being said, but forever doubted her abilities. Spencer tilted her head and sighed softly, she never wanted to be put on a pedestal, she never wanted to be someone people feared and how she arrived here was only her riding on the seat of her pants. Her arms tightened around her chest as she tried to figure out how to put things into words, the young Master didn’t want to sound harsh, but it might be the only way.

“The difference between us Circe and why you see yourself never reaching your full potential is because you don’t believe in yourself; you don’t see yourself where I am. You talk like you do, but its just a cover. I believed in myself, I desired to be the best, to never lose my usefulness.”

Closing her eyes slightly she nodded her head.

“That’s what drove me to learn everything I could. It has nothing to do with how I was created or whatever stories are floating around. I became what I am through hard work and struggle. I have the scars to back up my stories…the times I was near death and I was lucky to have Ashin near. I might not have died, but I know the fear of death. You died a foolish death, learn from it and move on Circe.”

"What can I do for you today Circe? Its not like you to seek me out like this unless you desire something"

"Well, I would ask for training, but I'd rather not end up being almost cut in half via a Spear of Midnight Black. Don't forget that my original intent was for you to come to Serpena and relax at the spa with me. Or did you forget?"

She raised an eyebrow inquisitively at Spencer, still wary of the woman.

"We could do some experiments, I guess. I've always wanted to see what makes Force-born life so special."

@[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

Finally Spencer moved, she had forgotten about the Spa the thought still made her slightly nervous. The woman still wasn’t’ used to the pampering she got on Eshan. Pushing the thought aside she’d tackle that beast when it came up. For now she was curious to why Circe wanted to conduct experiments.

“Like I told you I’m not sure how many midi-chlorians I have inside of me. That information was hidden from me when I was brought to the temple. The information would be in my file along with the sample of blood they took.”

Finding her way towards her command chair she slipped into it and swung her feet over the arm rest. Her hand rested on her chin as she contemplated the experiments.

“Why do assume people who are force born are special? There is nothing special about me honestly I have more weaknesses than strengths. I would consider it more of a curse”

"Yes, like the Jedi are going to let a Sith waltz into their foremost temple and look at the records of the First Apprentice to a former Empress of the Sith Empire. I'd rather draw a sample now, anyways, since yours there is most likely out of date. My own tests are something I trust more, anyways..."

She stood up, eying over the former apprentice.

"You have a direct connection with the Force. Naturally, you have more power than I do. But I intend to experiment and see just how you differ from a baseline sentient."

@[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

Spencer chuckled nervously, she scratched the side of her face for a moment as she tried to understand Circe’s point of view. In her mind, hard work and training got her where she was today, not the fact of her birth. Spencer shrugged and decided the blood test wouldn’t be too much. Remembering how the Jedi had done it as it was just a prick of the finger and a drop would be extracted. It was enough to tell someone’s midi-chlorian count.

“Everyone has a connection to the Force; some have the ability to harness it. Everyone is connected through –it’s like a network of strings tying us all together. It’s how I see when I battle meditate, everyone is connected it’s quite amazing.”

The girl moved closer to Circe and held out her hand, it felt natural to offer her hand like this.

“I do ask that all samples and data to be destroyed once we’re finished, I don’t care to see another me running around. If you can agree to that then I’m willing to allow you do what you wish.”

In Umbris Potestas Est
"I guess I can't do that then. I'll need to do further examination of the samples in order to get all the data I can from them. And if you force me to incinerate the sample when I leave, we'll have to start this all over again."

She crossed her arms, almost pouting in agitation.

"But then again, it's not as though logistics are your issue, Yun'Harla."

@[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

Spencer chuckled softly as she figured Circe was right. If she only had the sample for a moment what was the use in getting it in the first place. Shrugging she pulled her hand back and leaned against console once more. Of course she was interesting in the knowledge that some tests would provide her about her origin, mostly just so she could understand midi-chlorian manipulation better. Possibly maybe perform it herself, one day. The thought slipped from her mind as she wrinkled her nose, she would never find a reason to perform it, but to know more about her would be invaluable.

“Well, I did promise time at the spa; maybe we change plans and head somewhere you could run a couple of tests. I’m curious to see what you find. But after all of that I’d like the data destroyed or put somewhere no one could find it again. I want to make sure that no one finds out how I was brought into this life.”

Offering her hand once more, she moved it as she waiting for Circe’s response.

In Umbris Potestas Est
"Perhaps we can do both... If you have a couple of days to spare, perhaps we could visit the spa and get the tests performed. After all, I do many things on Serpena, and its buildings are quite flexible in their functionality."

She raised an eyebrow. "The data will be stored somewhere only I can access it. I guarantee no one else will know where the location is. It will be placed in a vault and buried somewhere in the Serpenan forest, where the trees and plants will cover its hiding place very soon after its burial."

She smiled. It was true - this planet's plant life was all-consuming. Anything not constantly shielded or equipped with proper defensive systems was fair game to the jungle.

“Circe for as much as I trust you, I don’t even want your eyes to see the data again, it would be in all of our best interest. After the tests, I will want the samples and everything destroyed or given to me so I can do so. I know Ashin wouldn’t approve of this, but I am curious.”

Looking towards the controls she waited for Circe to give her the coordinates. Spencer wanted the Peregrine with her. The ship had easily become like a security blanket for her, Ashin had built it to protect her and that is exactly what it will continue to do.

“So I’ll allow you to run your experiments as long as the data and everything is destroyed. Do we have a deal?”

In Umbris Potestas Est
"No."

She sighed, turning away. "Further analysis will be required to determine exactly how the Force is able to translate your parents' biological structures into the DNA your body currently has. I can only give preliminary data such as numbers. I won't know how it worked. That would take weeks and significantly more genetic material than I know you're willing to give me. I guess I got nothing out of this trip, huh?"

And with that, she took a step towards the doorway leading to the open hall.

@[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

Sighing softly Spencer, pondered the situation. She didnt want to go too deep, mostly because she was scared what she was going to find. If anything she would need to start slow. Leaning off the controls she watched as Circe made her way out the door. Spencer would only say one more thing, if Circe decided it was still a waste of time, then it possibly was. Either way, the choice was with Circe.

"Well two things. I want to start slow you're basically asking me to unravel everything about me at biological level - a place I'm not sure I"m too ready to explore deeply. And two what other bodily functions do you want from me? Why isn't blood enough?"
