Lightside Alchemy?

Is this a known thing in cannon? If it is I would like to specialize it. I know the items wont be as powerful, but the concept seems sound.

The Sith force their objects into creation via the force.

for Jedi technically they could request the force to do the same?

Technically no.

The only neutral ability that could change things would be Art Of The Small, and only those of master rank should learn the skill (I was a knight, and it wasn't good that I did :<)

But the skill has been used to make 'Jedi Swords' , which were basically Sith Swords without the darkside.

Otherwise, the only way to change the genetics of creatures and such would be Sith Alchemy. Art Of The Small could change some things, as it has been used in the EU to

"He was able to amplify the current of energy flowing through his mismatched form, as well as compose deadly toxins and chemicals, able to be released through almost every aspect of his body; his blood, his sweat, his tears, his fang, and even his curving fingernails. These abilities allowed him to control Shimrra and become the true Supreme Overlord of the Yuuzhan Vong."

But don't expect there to be a lightside way to mess with bodies of other people.

[member="Phylis Alince"] is working on developing something called alkahest which is light side alchemy. A lot of it is imbuing and attuning things with the Force in the same manner as lightsaber crystals.

Yes, it does have small unique properties and talismans.

I think [member="Matsu Ike"] may also have some knowledge of this.

Aint nothin wrong with Force Weapon (Apparently it can be used to channel force abilities through weapons as well.)

But yes. I've no idea what [member="Veino Garn"] is talking about, but there's little you could use to make lightside alchemy. (Again, Art of the Small can be used in a way to let you channel your force signature into an item, giving it special properties, but that would need a master who knows the skill)

So yes or no?
The only thing Art of the Small can be used for is making force imbued weapons/items. They cannot do the same things (such as absorb force lightning) that sith swords and such can.

Force-imbued blades were solid metal blades that required no power source, and that glowed with the power of the Force coursing through them. This glow could manifest itself in multiple ways, ranging from lightning like striations,[9] a discoloration of the blade,[10] a fire like manifestation,[11] or not at all. Imbued with the Force, the blades were preternaturally strong and sharp, being capable of cutting effortlessly through most materials, with the exception of reinforced metals such as durasteel, which took more effort.[12] Force-imbued blades could damage and destroy dark side spirits.[13]

To emphasize: Art of the small cannot be used in the same manner as Sith alchemy, as any alteration of the living or otherwise in such a manner is dark sided (this is not a matter of opinion, this is a matter of doing so will create a dark side nexus on the equipment/sithspawn created, and it is not up for debate and is canonical fact) and considered Sith alchemy.

The Jensaarai do that with armor as well, although not by using Art of the Small, as far as I can tell from the few canon sources. It's more of how lightsaber crystals are attuned. Lots of really deep meditation, and I kind of built from there for Veino's armor.

For other materials and objects, it would probably take lots of dev threads experimenting on how to get it figured out.

There is nothing in canon that is explicitly labeled as the light side counter part of Sith Alchemy. However, there are a variety of ways for light siders to achieve similar fears and effects. For one, there is Art of the Small. When applied creatively, one could make artifacts of the same caliber as those produced by Alchemy (but light of course; example.)

There is also Force-Imbuement. The Je'daii and Jal Shey respectively used this method to make their artifacts. Lastly, the Jedi of this site have devised Alkahest which is intended to be the perfect counter to Sith Alchemy.

So, you've got options my friend. Many options. And there are a lot of people who are around more knowledgeable than I on the subject. I suggest hitting up [member="Shule Windspeaker"] at some point.

Actually. Art Of The Small has made several blades that were exactly like Sith Swords without the darkside signature. As seen here they can. And here it has a different property, but that was bad writing on my part and I've made a submission edit request (I think two months ago now) to change it back to it's original state. Lightning absorbtion for a short while, but it could not store it.

The Admiralty
In general there are ways to give items unique properties through the Force, think Jal Shey crafting and things like that. But like you yourself already noted, it wouldn't be as powerful or extreme as the things Sith Alchemy can provide you with.

Sword imbuement, little things that makes it easier to focus or make it harder for Sith to influence your minds.

That's the sort of scope you should look at.

The difference is that he was guided by a master of Sith Alchemy who was able to draw on the knowledge of such to alter the other.

A force imbued blade does not carry the same properties as one would through sith alchemy, however, those vanilla aspects are just the baseline that all Sith swords carry. There are additional things which may be imbued on the blade that art of the small could not do.

So force Imbuement, and Art of the Small are what I need to research?
Yes, but be aware of this:
As such, it does not act as a lightning rod in the slightest, nor does it possess a Sith Sword's ability to absorb and retain Force Lightning. However, due to the immense sum of meditation poured out upon it, Frostfall's tremendous imbuement of the Force allows it to act as a natural conductor for the ability Force Weapon. (It is to be noted that this natural conductivity does not amplify the strength of one's Force Weapon but simply makes it easier to accomplish the desired effect).
