Lords of the Fringe Bounty on Viper

Logan of Little Coruscant said:
I agree with @VlPER. If you're going to kill Viper moments after he killed invicta, there's no way there would be a bounty on him. Killing him in the past, wouldn't get you a reward in the future. I do think that for that reason, the post should have been made after the invasion because of the whole time warp situation.
Well, we don't have a set timeline could be the argument.

*shrugs* I get his point I just felt like that should be known how fast information travels?

I mean, her death would probably be very common knowledge within minutes. But the bounty creation, people reading it, etc. just doesn't seem viable to me in the middle of an invasion.

He killed a member of the One Sith, a valued member in the Fringe, and you expect us to not get rewarded for seeking vengeance in the invasion? Sure, I wouldn't see the reward - but anyone who saw that happen or knew about it happening in the invasion would likely seek to kill him or at least reprimand him.

If my sister was killed today, you bet I'd pay someone for revenge.

Hell, I'm sure Kaine would pay or at least reward for his wife's killer, let alone both factions.

He's a Zambrano - He's probably got like a dozen wives! :D

Totally understand where you're coming from.

That's not what I'm saying. Obviously members of the OS and Fringe are going to be pissed off. Of course they're going to seek retribution. But what I'm trying to get across is that the invasion isn't over. Hell, Viper might die before the invasion is over. And that would make a bounty post obsolete. Unless you find a way to bring him back to life and kill him again, which I don't see happening. Basically what I'm saying is that, I agree with Viper when he said that it might have made more sense to wait for the invasion is over because things might happen. He might die. He might kill someone else and the bounty might increase. Just about anything could happen. Of course, if you kill Viper during the invasion you'll probably be rewarded for it due to the nature of his crimes. I wasn't saying you shouldn't be.

Except both factions have intelligence agencies that actively post bounties in real time - I have a bounty from the Black Suns for stepping on Abeloth before the thread even ended (it was dropped after a month).

The Fringe, and I dare say the OSI(One Sith Intelligence), have monitors on the things going on around the Voices(In the case of the One Sith) and Kain and other "premier" allies for the Fringe. This means that within moments, maybe ten minutes at the most, the bounty would be created and uploaded to either the holonet or a private channel between the two factions first.

I believe the misconception here is that all bounties are posted through a central, neutral, party, and are unaware that the bounty board is actually much like the internet - it is made up of a bunch of different groups that maintain their own boards and such. Just as soon as they'd realize Invicta died, they'd similarly be placing a bounty.

Now, I will agree that the bounty should not be mentioned in the thread (unless time seems to pass several hours or days by the time anything happens) as that would be metagaming, but the bounty does not need to take place post-invasion.

I didn't kill Invicta because she was evil. As I tried to explain a couple times already, I killed her because I had no way to keep her a prisoner and live. And if I let her go, she'd kill more of us later, possibly even Viper himself. And probably in the same invasion once she healed up. It was a tactical decision based on a desire to live and not see more allies slaughtered. If the Jedi would damn Viper for that, it's not an Order Viper would be willing to fight for. Viper is extremely remorseful over having been forced to kill her the way he did.

The fact that you would ignore his reasoning and simply say we don't do that, is both shortsighted and disturbing. The fact that you'd rather see more of our people die to avoid a slightly morally wrong action is scary. Also as a force user AND energy vampire, she was never fully disarmed. I'm sorry. lol

Also I have no problem with the bounty whatsoever. I support it 100%. I don't agree that it was cold blood, but that is just good propaganda and to be expected. I simply said it would have been impossible to happen so quickly. The information being captured would take hours to filter through the ranks of the Sith leaders at best. It would almost certainly take the better part of a day or two before reaching allied ears.

And in the end, again this point is moot as I was simply requesting future bounties be placed after invasions, not during. That way it doesn't give people an OOC reason to look at a character with additional interest.

Throw her over the railing into the water? She lives and you live. Then you can focus on rescuing the Grandmaster or fighting whoever.

I'd rather see Jedi PCs make logical choices than go and do something that could be considered radical and all it does in the eyes of the IC world is fuel the flames. Propaganda mate. You just gave them a plethora of it.

I was unaware there were railings everywhere for people to be thrown over. And how is that helpful? lol She'd break her leg and drown. So instead of a quick and merciful death, she gets to experience one of the scariest ways to go imaginable. Also keep in mind this was all discussed OOC if that is what you are saying?

As for IC, Aaralyn, this is war. lol People die. You seem to forget they attacked us, remember? Who's side are you on? lol

His move was based completely on logic. With someone about to blow his head off from behind, a dark lord staring him down, and more enemy reinforcements on the way, you wish Viper to waste time making sure a Sith could get away and live? Are you crazy? *starts to wonder if Aaralyn has a darth title hiding somewhere* (OOC I am not mad at all. I'm just confused :) )

What you're saying makes no logical sense whatsoever.

I would love to poke holes all in this right now but I'll leave this to be a bounty thread.

All sith troops have video camera as part of their standard equipment, this linked to hq. This so they can see who killed them, and we know when they die. So we can know about her death instantly if sith trooper was watching, and that information would be past on very quickly. So yes we could know about the bounty before the end of the invasion in theory

Should be interesting to see how people take what happens next. Oh how the Jedi will cheer. And the Sith lament, or rejoice? I'm honestly not sure what they will do. lol
