Lotus of War Markets

"I think the scenario will be fine," affirmed Gir, "it's seldom that we are so fortunate in war to be able to employ our work in ideal circumstances or roles. In either case, I'm more interested in practical testing than showing off the Sirocco as a finished product; it's not fully refined yet to be at that point."

Gir's gaze wandered downward to see the first of the maroon-colored Siroccos taxi out of the complex by running on their repulsorlifts. The diminutive craft came out in quartets, eventually forming a column that was four craft wide and six ranks deep. In retrospect, they rather look like Miy'tils...I wonder if Salmakk took inspiration from that design series, given their shape and size. He filed that into a number of questions that he would have to ask his adopted brother later on. But the mon calamari engineer wouldn't be back to Kwooshrr for several days. He turned his eyes to [member="Dallen Thayne"].

"I guess we're just waiting on the frigate."

Dallen had to agree completely with the former supreme commander's statement, given that many battles were fought defensively and were a rush of trying to handle the situation as it was sprung on them. What few times the Republic was given to the offensive it also felt like a mad dash of gathering resources together to launch the assault, leaving their own people flustered. "Well then I hope the test scenario will be enough of a kickstart to get the Sirocco to the refined state you desire sir. If not it will hopefully be a step in the right direction then." At the mention of the frigate though, the Republic Commander simply smiled as he stared to see its shape emerge in the atmosphere as it carried on its descent. Following proper procedure the vessel would likely make landfall in ten minutes as close as they were.

Until then, he supposed they merely needed to wait, watch, and prepare the fighters to huddle them onboard when the Hammerhead touched down. "Looks like it will only be a few minutes more. The weather is nice at least so we have a lovely view of the local sky while we wait don't we."

Some time later...

Eidolon-class Transport Blackwing, near the testing site

"You just had to drive...didn't you..."

"Pilot, technically speaking. You can only keep me cooped up in a building for so long..."

"Because you'd rather be cooped up in a smaller starship instead."

A grin grew across Gir's face. He turned from the cockpit's controls to look back at Azira. The bothan gave him a knowing grin. Behind him, Gir could see a pair of the Lab's employees fiddle with some extra sensors that they had brought onboard, including an unusually sensitive EPR with a recorder attachment. He looked forward again to see the burning light emitted from the Testament's ion drives. We're getting pretty close...maybe we should get some slight distance away just to ensure that we don't accidentally get hit by something...Gir gently tugged the flight yoke to the right, taking the stealth transport in a gradual loop that peeled the craft away from the warship. He eyed the readouts intently as he did so. Once the Blackwing was several kilometers away from the frigate, he readjusted the course once again, making it run parallel to that of the Hammerhead.

Aboard the bridge of the Testament itself Dallen watched the chronometer as he awaited the squadron of Fire Lotus Starfighters to finish their jump into the test zone. Once they arrived they would begin the mock combat simulation between them and Lucerne Labs' Sirocco droid fighters. The droid interceptors in question were already fueled and ready in the cruiser's hangar bay as the Hammerhead drifted through empty space counting the minutes until they would begin deploying the stars of the practice sim. Hopefully they would get good recordings between themselves and Gir Quee's own equipment.

Who speaking of, the Republic Commander motioned for his comm officer to contact as he moved to his chair and looked to Lieutenant Ree for confirmation of a connection. "Just waiting for Green Squadron to arrive and we'll get your Sirocco sent out sir. Is your ship's sensors ready for full scans of the battle?"
