Love Comes Softly (Kable Detta)

Shieldmaiden of Clan Munin (semi-retired)
It had been a few months now that Briika Tor and @[member="Kable Detta"] had been dancing around their growing feelings for each other. They had met first on the Wheel while the commando and the medic had been there on a stopover after respective missions, then they had served together with the Mando Fireteam at the Invasion of Eriadu, which ended with a near kiss as they were interrupted by one of the Field Marshals giving orders to bug out.

Several weeks passed again before the two young Mando'ade met again in Keldabe just after @[member="Kad Tor"], Briika's younger brother, came to stay with her while looking for work as a goran. The three of them did many things together, but really what Bree wanted was to spend some quality alone time with Kable to get to know him better. So a suggestion that her and him drive out to Bralsin to get out of the city was made…. and he accepted.

Briika closed up the picnic basket she'd made and was now just awaiting Kable to pick her up at the apartment Kad and her shared above the Oyu'baat Tapcafe. Luckily for them, her brother was on an errand and they wouldn't have to deal with the younger Tor giving them grief as this was their official first date without a brotherly chaperone.

Today was the day. for a couple months now, Kable had been flirting with Briika Tor, but he had never officially declared his feeling for her. They had almost shared a kiss on Eriadu, but had been interrupted.
So many close moments, where he could have held her hand, kissed her cheek. But something always came up. But not today, today, he was going to tell her!

He stood in front of the mirror in the refresher of the room that he and his brother rented. He had changed outfits three times, but finally decided on dark jeans with boots. He wore a black long sleeved button down shirt which he rolled up the sleeves. He left the first two buttons of his shirt unbuttoned.
He wasn't wearing armor, but he never went anywhere unarmed. In his right boot he had a vibroknife and blaster tucked away in his rear waistband.

He slapped his cheeks with some after shave and exited the refresher and walked by the bed where his drunk, sleeping brother lay. Kable chuckled to himself and fixed the covers on his brother before grabbing his black leather jacket from the chair in front of the desk and his sun glasses from the desktop.

He stepped outside and slipped into his jacket as he walked down the stairs to where his speederbike was parked. He put on his sunglasses and fired up the bike. It whined to life and Kable gunned the engines and drove off in the direction of Briika's apartment.
Kable had fought against the fringe, squared off against a Sith Lord, survived a zombie invasion...twice, but he had never been more scared then he felt at that moment.
In his mind, facing off against two Sith Lords seemed less terrifying.

He pulled up and parked the bike and walked up the stairs to her door and paused. He took a deep breath then knocked. This was it. No turning back now.

Briika had changed what seemed like a million times, not that she had that many outfits to choose from, far from when wearing her besker'gam most of the time, but still it had been a daunting task to find something that wasn't too sleazy yet showed off her womanly form. Kable had never seen her in anything other than her armor and she the same for him. This would indeed be interesting when first glances were made of each other. To be honest, she had been visualizing him wearing much less in her dreams.

The knock on the door brought her immediately out of her daydreaming and back to reality. @[member="Kable Detta"] was here to pick her up for their first official date! Taking a couple of really deep breaths to calm her racing heart and butterflies in her stomach, the blonde waited to a count of five, then opened the door slowly wearing the first outfit she'd tried on hours ago.

Bree smiled and hoped Kable liked her new look in a pair of skinny jeans tucked into leather boots and a two-piece top with a matching hat atop her long and wavy golden tresses. She sure liked his; blue-green eyes making their way head to toe, then back up again to gaze into the dark-haired Detta brother's chocolate colored orbs that were melting her as he stared back.

"Su'cuy…. Come in. Olarom to my humble yaim," Briika smiled again this time brightly with measured excitement etched in her face, then stepped back to let the tall, dark and handsome young man into her apartment; the first thing he'd see would be the picnic basket setting on top of the two-person dining table as the kitchette was by the door with the sitting area near the window and balcony door while her bed was to the far side of the room by the refresher door.

Kable was again wishing he was fighting a Sith Lord instead of standing speechless in her door as he took in her beauty. He moved his mouth to speak, but nothing came out and he just looked foolish as his lips moved without sound.

Finding an ounce of control, he followed her inside and took in the layout of her home. It was small, yet cozy. His eyes fell immediately on the picnic basket on the table in her kitchenette.

He attempted to speak
"You look cozy...I mean your home, not that you aren't cozy.....cause you're beautiful, I mean....." He felt his cheeks flush then he shook his head and simply said "Hi" All he could do was offer her a sheepish grin.

Gods… He's so cute! she mused biting her lip to keep a giggle inside as the big fella rambled on trying to be so complimentary in a tongue-tied round about way.

"Vor'e... Kable," Briika smiled demurely, his name rollin off her tongue sweetly, then she grabbed a leather jacket off the back of one of the dining chairs and slipped it on. "I'm ready when you are. I've been looking forward to this all week."

@[member="Kable Detta"]

He was thankful that she didn't take to the opportunity to laugh at his awkwardness. He nodded in agreement when she asked if he was ready. He walked over to the table and grabbed the picnic basket and and headed for the door.

He lead the way down stairs and over to his bike. He strapped down the basket to the back and swung his leg over the bike and looked to Briika.
"This is all I have at the moment, hope you don't mind bikes?"

Bree closed the door to her apartment, then followed Kable down the stairs until they got outside to where his speeder bike was parked.

"Oh I don't mind… It's all we rode back home. I usually left my brothers in the dust," the blonde replied, allowing that giggle she was holding finally out.

Briika slipped onto the bike directly behind her date, straddling the seat with her slender legs as her toned arms wrapped around the dark-haired young Mando'ad's trim waist, her ample chest innocently pressing up against his muscled back as there was not much room with the picnic basket strapped on behind her petite form.

Kable tensed as she slid in behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. He felt a flutter in his abdomen. Yup, war was much easier than dating.
He kicked the bike into gear and drove off. Their destination was Bralsin, which was outside the city.

He took the scenic route, taking them through the heavy wooded areas and near the many homesteads. He knew the perfect place for a picnic. A little meadow just at the base of a waterfall. He hoped that the spot he picked out for the picnic would make up for his awkward blunder at her apartment.

Kable slowed as they neared the meadow. The rolling hills were blanketed in vibrant green grass. The waterfall kept the temperature cool and kept a mist in the air. Birds chirped in the trees that were casting their shadows to protect them from the bright sun hanging in the midday sky.

He parked his bike at the base of the huge veshok tree near the water and shut down the engine.
Leaning back, he spoke over his right shoulder "Will this do?"

The whole ride out to Bralsin on @[member="Kable Detta"]'s speeder bike, Bree was taking in the beautiful countryside of Mandalore. She also was enjoying being this close to the dark-haired Detta brother. They had only shared the briefest of innocent touches and looks so far and she was dying to experience more… well within reason. Briika had been raised with traditional Mandalorian values, and to her credit at the age of twenty-two, was still a virgin; holding out for the man she would one day make a strong riduurok with.

The meadow where Kable had picked for their picnic was nothing but spectacular and romantic especially with the waterfall nearby. "It's kandosii'la, Kable… Perfect, actually," the blonde smiled with a very pleased and excited look on her face, then she got off the bike, grabbing a red and white checkered picnic blanket from just inside the top of the basket that was still strapped onto the back of his bike.

Briika walked over to a nice spot under a Vershok tree and laid out the blanket for them, then unzipped her leather mojo jacket and slipped it off laying it beside her as she sat down. "Have you been here before? It's a little piece of heaven," she smiled again, patting the spot next to her as he kinda just stood there though wondering curiously to herself if perhaps the good looking nerd ever brought other girls out here.

He breathed a sigh of relief. She liked the spot, at least he did one thing right so far.
He smiled as she patted the spot next to her. He walked over and sat down.

"I used to come up here with my family, whenever my Buir was back. This was our spot." He caught himself getting lost in her eyes

"I haven't been back here since...." His voice trailed off. Then he cleared his throat.

"I haven't had a reason to come back, until today..." He cringed inside. That last line was loaded. He hoped that it was received well. The last few months of interactions with Briika had been full of innocent touches and awkward encounters. He wanted to be honest, for once.

"I'm glad you like it"

Briika had a hard time concentrating on what @[member="Kable Detta"] was saying as all her attention was on returning his enticing gaze; oh those dreamy dark chocolate pools. Though, she did hear the last part.

"Oh I do… and I feel especially honored that you thought enough of me to bring me to your spot that has special meaning for you," the blonde smiled warmly, then reached inside the basket that had been carried over.

"I hope you like what I made for us. It's nothing fancy just some sandwiches, a fruit salad, and uj cake for dessert. And if you wouldn't mind, I'll have you open the sparkling cider ba'gedet'ye," she said pulling the food, plates, and eating utensils out along with a glass bottle and two flutes, handing the bottle over to him, her fingertips lingering on his as she did.

"You know the Kelita Valley reminds me a lot of Enceri, well except there are no majestic snow-capped mountains in the distance. I could see myself making a permanent yaim here though... A nice little farm with plenty of open space for ade to run around and learn to be good Mando'ade like their buire."

"The food looks great, but the company is better" He gave her a huge, heart felt smile. One that he hadn't shown in years.

He took the cider and pointed the bottle in a safe direction before popping it. He returned the bottle to her. Then, feeling bold, Kable grabbed her hand and held it in his.

"A farm would be nice. Some of my happiest memories were of growing up on my family's homestead."
Again, he got lost in her eyes, time seemed irrelevant.

The sensation of her hand being held by his was… well there weren't words for it except wonderful. Bree nearly forgot she was holding the open bottle of sparkling cider in her other one as they gazed again into each other eyes getting totally lost in the moment. She felt herself slowly leaning in towards @[member="Kable Detta"] as if there was a magnet pulling her.

"Mhmm Me too…" Briika mumbled softly unaware how actually close their faces were to each other.

Kable had been here before. Feeling her hot breath on his face due to the close proximity of their lips. Only last time, a certain Field Marshal conveniently interrupted their moment. But now, there was no one around. No cantankerous Field Marshals, no little brothers. Just Kable and Briika. Kable seized the moment.
He cupped her face in his hands and gently placed his lips on hers. Electricity sparked and ran from his lips to his toes. Her lips were cool, tender, and tasted like wild honey hidden in a lost forest. He felt as if he had just plunged over the very waterfall that they were beneath.
Strong feelings of longing and desire rushed through his body, he had to resist the urge to tackle her to the blanket and kiss her passionately. It wasn't time for that yet. There was something special about Briika, and he didn't want to ruin things with a brief moment of passion. He wanted more than that. A lifetime of passionate moments with her.

He released himself from the kiss and looked into her eyes. "I've wanted to do that so many times"

In that moment right before their lips united in a sweet and tender kiss, Briika's heart stopped and her breathe hitched as @[member="Kable Detta"]'s strong hands ever so gently cupped her face. The exciting yet comforting warmth that cursed through her body next started from the outer edges of her lips and went all the way to the tips of her toes. In that kiss, Bree gave her heart to the dark-haired Detta brother.

As he pulled away slightly and they gazed into each other's eyes again, she just smiled softly with contentment written all over her face. "I've wanted you to do that so many times…. and you may kiss me again if it pleases you."

He smiled and searched her beautiful face, then pressed his lips to hers again.
Once the need for air pulled them apart, Kable chuckled.
"We'd best take a break and eat the marvelous lunch that you made. Cause if I kiss you again, I might not stop" He grinned as he helped her with the plates.

Kable was smitten.

The second kiss left her breathless and even warmer than before. To be honest, Bree wouldn't mind if they never stopped kissing… But @[member="Kable Detta"] was right, the nice lunch she'd made for them would go to waste if they didn't eat it soon.

Briika just nodded, then poured each of them a flute of the bubbly non-alcholoic drink and handed Kable his; again fingers lingering upon his as she passed it to him, azure eyes gazing into his espresso ones longingly.

"K'oyacyi!, Kab'ika," she smiled sweetly, clinking her glass against his, then taking a sip before choosing half a sandwich and a some fruit to go with it. "Maybe after lunch, we can take a walk through the meadow and get a closer look at the waterfall."

Kable bit into the sandwich and decided then and there that he would eat anything that she ever made for the rest of his life. It was delicious!
He groaned aloud to assure her how much he loved it. Then swallowed before answering.
"Absolutely! we used to go swimming in the water, and afterwards we'd lay in the tall grass till we dried off."
Kable smiled. Happy memories flooded through him.

He was glad he brought Briika to this place. He was creating a happy memory with her here. And he hoped to create many more memories with the beautiful blonde that was staring back at him.

The thought of going swimming with the tall, dark, and handsome verd, then drying off in the tall grass together sent a chill down Bree's spine; one that made her cheeks warm. The blonde busied herself quickly with gathering up the luncheon items, then repacking them in the basket.

"Back home there was a glacial pool that my vode and I used to go to in the warmth of the summer months. We'd hike up to it… I was always the first to jump in after a day of going our chores on the farm…" she said, a faraway look flickered on her face for a moment that ended with a smile coming to her lips and azure gaze retaking his sweetly.

"Those were good times just as I bet yours were with your family…. Shall we go make some of our own?" Briika asked while standing up, then she reached her petite hand out for @[member="Kable Detta"] to take.

He took her outstretched hand and got to his feet. He walked with her through the meadow towards the water at the base of the falls.
They stopped just at the waters edge and Kable turned her to face him and held both her hands in his. "Want to make memories huh?" He leaned down and kissed her "So do I"

He winked as he released her and kicked of his boots and tucked his vibro-knife and blaster inside of one boot. He unbuttoned his shirt and stripped it off. Now, only wearing jeans he stepped into the water. He gasped as he waded in due to the cold temperature. He waded out till he was waist deep and then looked back at Briika. "Well, you coming?"
With that he dove in to the cool water.
