Love On A Comet

Tom did as he was told and then still went and found some stuff to make a meal and quietly brought it back to the cockpit. He sat down on the floor making a meal for the two of them. Finishing it up he began meditating instead and waited for [member="Mykes Vatak"] to return to him.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes used the mag boots, climbing along. He was worried. If a comet strayed off the path...He shook his head, he could not worry right now. He pushed forward, and then he reached the comm dish. He pushed against it, lightly. Trying to make the connection, then sealing the connection best he could with the welding torch. With the armor at least he would not burn himself, though holding it felt odd.

The connection was sealed, and he got on the commlink. "Tom! Tom try the comms! Do they work?" he asked, sticking by the dish in case it was working or not.

Tom would get up and hear [member="Mykes Vatak"] voice. He would try the comm's "Hello can anyone hear me?" "This is myrkr command we read you loud and clear." "We are stuck and need assistance at these co-ordinates." He would send them out "Roger we can get a ship to you in about a day or two until then hold out." Tom was slightly pleased by that and got on the Commlink "Yeah mykes it worked, they got our position. Two days then someone will come get us."

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes listened. He got nothing from [member="Tom Taff"] for a bit. Then...he heard Tom through the commlink. And whooped loudly, throwing a fist in space. "Ha ha! Yes! Yes, we got it!" Things were looking up. He turned around to get to the airlock, then paused. When would the comets end!

"Tom! Need you to bank right! Activate the engines, and bank right!" But the comet was upon them. Even if Tom could move, it would hit. It would not deal much damage, but no doubt would hit somewhere on the top, which Mykes was moving to get off from.

Tom would listen to [member="Mykes Vatak"] . "Mykes get inside now." He would try starting the engines "Mykes the engines aren't working, kark the engines aren't working." He would then use a force call to [member="Rex Taff"] hoping his dad would hear him and send someone. "Mykes please get back inside please. I don't want to lose you." He would begin crying "Pleassse make it."

 

[Mykes Vatak]

The comet struck, scraping across the top of the ship. Scraping, taking the comm dish away with some metal. Silence followed. Filling, the ship being only filled by [member="Tom Taff"]'s crying. And only that...

"Remind me...to never take you...comet watching." Mykes closed the outside airlock behind him, huffing and puffing from the near death experience. Then he was in, throwing the helmet off. He needed out of this armor, now. It was getting stuffy and he was sweating from the experience. "Never....again."

Tom wept and wept. He heard nothing for sooooo long. The silence around him was deafening. He just get crying and then finally heard the airlock looking up. He saw [member="Mykes Vatak"] walk in "Oi be careful with that it just saved the only thing I could ever love." He says as he walks over and kisses Mykes. "Nice, time you make me cry, you are going to owe me a lot more than a comet show." He was just happy mykes was alive.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes found him surprised the kiss at first, then just went along with it. It was nice, after his experience. It was too close. "I agree. So let's not have their be a next time with the comet show" he said back to [member="Tom Taff"], hugging him close now. "So...how long we got to wait for?" he asked, pulling back a little bit. "And what do we do till then?"

Tom would smile getting hugged close to [member="Mykes Vatak"]. "Well at worse 2 days for someone for myrkr." Tom said looking a little upset. "As for what we do, whatever we want we have a few days and I made us something to eat because well I thought you might be hungry." He said smiling kissing Mykes cheek. "But first lets get you back into some normal clothes, I know how heavy that armour is." He would help Mykes getting out of the armour

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes held [member="Tom Taff"] close to him, no doubt Tom could hear his breathing and heartbeat. He had had a very close call, and felt safe now in his arms. "Right...it is heavy. And stuffy in here." He went off, closing the door behind him as he got changed. Then out he came, back in his casual clothes. "Comms are back out so...we won't know when they are getting close." It was a bit unnerving, knowing not when help would arrive.

He moved to sit in the pilot seat, looking over the console. Mykes still had things to do...or rather, it was something to calm his nerves, distract him. Fixing things always did that. "I shouldn't have brought us here...we almost died."

Tom would hug [member="Mykes Vatak"] when he came back out in his normal clothes. "I know but at least I still have you. I don't want to lose you. Period." He would say looking into Mykes eyes. "No it was beautiful it was wonderful. We haven't lost each other so it could have been worse." He would kiss mykes and suggest "Come have something to eat, come sit with me. You can fix things later right now I just want to spend some time with you." He would grab mykes hand and lead him to the meal.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes Vatak rolled his eyes, but he still could not help but smile. It had been quite the sight for them so see. He kissed [member="Tom Taff"] back as Mykes then went with Tom's idea to find a spot to sit. Then they would begin to eat, and he smiled over to Tom. "Fixing things calms me...but if eating with you will calm you then we'll eat."

Tom sat down with [member="Mykes Vatak"] and ate what he had made. "So thoughts on the meal?" He would eat some more. "So fixing helps you calming? Meditation and speaking with people or animals helps me out. So When you go to fix things do you mind if I meditate and talk with you?" He would give Mykes the please look. However he sent through the Force bond a yes would mean quite a number of things. Things he couldn't say but he could show.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

He nodded, it was a good meal. And then he nodded to the part on fixing. "It does help me, a lot. To fix things helps..." Even if doing so was what led to the loss of his leg. And almost his life. "Sure, I would not mind. If you don't mind me asking for your help every now and then, this ship can't be fixed by just one" he said, smiling a bit. It could be fixed, just not fully by one person but enough to keep them alive. Plus he thought it could be an experience.

Tom would nod. "Good I wouldn't have it any other way love." He would smile finishing his meal. "So love where do we need to fix first?" He would say still smiling moving and hugging [member="Mykes Vatak"]. "Also how is your force powers going dear?" He might as well ask about it.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes hugged [member="Tom Taff"] back. "I am glad to hear it. First we need to see what else needs fixing, that latest comet no doubt ruined more things" he said to Tom. He needed to look things over another time. To see all that was wrong with the ship, see what exactly he could fix.

As he broke from the hug to check on things he heard Tom ask him about his force powers. "It's going okay. Still have a lot to understand."

Tom would nod as [member="Mykes Vatak"] broke from his hug. He would begin looking at all the systems. "Well we know the engine is gone. Life support appears to be intact. We know Communications is gone. Is there much else to look at?" He would ask looking at the systems on the console.

"Like what do you have to understand maybe I can help you on it dear." Tom would say sitting in the pilot chair checking under the console for something to make it live again so they could do a diagnostics.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

As he looked over the systems it was all true. There wasn't really anything to fix. But still, still he wanted to to fix something. He sighed, a bit frustrated. He got them into this mess, he wasn't letting that go. Even if [member="Tom Taff"] objected or said otherwise, he wouldn't believe otherwise. "Well there's shielding but that won't do much towards comets...and engines are going nowhere as your said. Comms gone...There isn't anything we can do except sit and wait..."

Tom felt some pain as he accidentally touched the wrong cords together. "Kark you to shuttle." He would then finally manage it. As he got up he looked at the panel and started the diagnostic. It came up with what [member="Mykes Vatak"] had said. Tom would sigh he could feel Mykes hatred for himself. Tom would look at the man. "It's not your fault, the computer might have been off or the karking meteors decided to do something different today."

He would pull something out of his pocket. It was a small broken Dragon probe droid. "You want to see if you can fix this. It broke on me not long ago and I have been trying to get it back together but I just don't have the knack for it like you do." He would put it down and start meditating knowing Mykes would pick up the droid. He wouldn't be able to help himself.

 

[Mykes Vatak]

Mykes felt the flash of pain from [member="Tom Taff"] and flinched. "No Tom I pulled out a few seconds too late. It was my idea, anyway. It brought us too close to being space corpses." He had brought them much too close to being ended in just a few mere seconds. What was he meant to do now, just forget about it? As soon as Tom presented the droid and set it down, Mykes got to looking it over. "It's smaller than most things I work on..." he murmured to himself. Mykes hadn't really worked on droids before. Most of the time, it was ships. Then again he did work on his prosthetic as well.
