Auction Mandal Hypernautics: Mega-Auction

Aedan Miles walked down the boarding ramp of his shuttle walking to the check in he stopped at the area designated for check in and gave the people there is name more then assured that either [member="Captain Larraq"] himself or someone else ([member="Ember Rekali"]) would come to see what he was doing here but Aedan was actually here doing business for his future company looking into some mining facilities and such hoping that they would be able to make use of them in the asteroid field they were going to set up in. He wore a simple black tunic with half sleeves and a pair of black pants. He was unarmed wanting to avoid any trouble with the Mandalorian presence on the resort. He sighed noticing what they were doing and gestured towards a nearby seat calmly stating. "While you get ahold of your boss mind if I take a seat." Seeing the nod he walked over and took a seat pulling out a data pad and going over a few things including a set of coordinates.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

"Both. All. Yes. Whichever move makes the most sense in context. We have Fringe government contracts to keep up, and obviously some of the tech is too highly classified to take to the open market, but there's a gray area -- things that are better than anything around, but not quite top secret. Have you ever heard of a Hellbore, Miz Arceneau?"

Out in the back, waaaaay back, by her lonesome would walk in the Red Blade in her familiar full beskar'gam. From under the dark tinted tee of her helm, a bright crimson light would flare, the cybernetic ocular patch scanning the surroundings.

In her right hand she held a datapad, heavily encrypted. Her background check would pass as that of a known ally and Bounty Hunter that worked within Mandalorian territories.

For now, she would stay in the shadows. Watching, observing. The terse female wasn't known for talking much nor being sociable.

She enjoyed it that way.

Preemptive bids would set in the following.

Lot H: 1x Hyperion Active Camouflage System 10,000cr.

[member="Rave Merrill"]

Her brows would rise at that. "I have not. But please do enlighten me." she'd reply, motioning for Rave to join her in the section outfitted for patrons to sit.

Here came the nerf-steak-on-a stick platters and all kinds of nifty gnoching finger foods to enjoy.

"Well, picture an energy torpedo projector. Infinite ammunition, unguided ballistic projectile, range ten times the distance from a habitable world to its average moon, immune to point defense, muzzle velocity twenty percent of lightspeed. Horrible, horrible recharge rate -- thirty seconds to a minute between shots. It was the standard secondary weapon on old Vulture droids, but it's so inefficient that nothing ever came of it.

"Now imagine someone took thirty Vulture droids, welded them into two concentric rings, and made a double gatling out of them. Recharge rate starts looking not so terrible.

"Conservative estimate, a Hellbore is worth one hundred twenty turbolasers, or...mm...three batteries of long-range turbolasers.

"As a planetary defense emplacement, it can hit enemy fleets long before they enter turbolaser range of a given world. At a firepower equivalent to one concussion missile per second. Fully automatic."

"Vader, Skywalker, and Yoda!" came Danger's low exclamation, full on southern drawl here. Oh yeah, this deserved a healthy dose of that twang.

"Tarnation, woman, when you go deep you go balls deep don'tcha now?!" Her mind was already flurry of activity. She could use those in each one of Arceneau's Trade Company's headquarters and for the SSB.

"Fully automatic..." and as one who appreciated a HVFC... that earned Rave a hell of a low whistle.

"Lawdy me.."

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

Rave's grin was astronomical.

"That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. So far, they've never been deployed, let alone sold, outside of Fringe territory. I have to sit on the nastier things, but the Hellbore, I can sell -- to the right customers. Folks that don't endanger the Fringe, folks that won't up and lose their assets when someone bigger comes calling, folks without vested interests in the Fringe's rivals or enemies...and folks that can afford what I'm selling. Now, fair warning -- as a planetary defense emplacement, there's Van Al'len interference, which cuts the effective range to a measly three times the distance to your average moon. Still way, way beyond a turbolaser, and way, way faster than a mass driver or hypervelocity gun."

[member="Rave Merrill"]

"It is clear, Mz Merrill," as Danger would slowly pluck the sunglasses from her face, "... that your endgame ain't mere leathercoats." oh yes, she went there with full devilry in those emerald orbs.

"How big we talking these planetary defenses will be?" she'd ask, moving to take a seat. With that much power, one would wonder just how much space they would take. How much power? And what could one do to make sure they were shielded properly to prevent any potential mishap.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

"Endgame? Miz Arceneau, this is...a hobby. Guns." She grinned. "Guns and leather and bits and bobs and things people want. I give them what they want, they give me the money to do what I want. If I told these people what my endgame is, not a one of'em would understand it. If I told you what my endgame is, you'd shoot me dead with the Lonesome Gun -- not because it's malicious or destructive, not because it's zero-sum growth that takes from someone else what it gives to me, it ain't -- but because nobody should have the kind of power I'm unlocking." Another grin. "Allegedly."

Rygel Larraq smiled and waved to his guests, shaking hands and making niceties as he worked the crowd. Throughout the resort, well dressed and well paid women worked the patrons into the best of moods. Drinks were served, cigars were provided, and 'other' vices were offered for those inclined to take them. Drugs, the kind that were legal on this planet, were provided for those whose appetites ranged beyond that of Tobacco or Alcohol. Throughout it all, Rygel Larraq smiled and shook hands. His attire was typical for himself. He wore his fines Hyperion Security officer's uniform. High quality leather and fabric were woven in with Beskar plates and wires to form a very, very high quality armorweave. To those not particularly familiar with Mandalorians, it was a strange, militaristic attire for a businessman to be wearing. For those familiar with Mandalorians, it was a very odd and ridiculously light body armor... that happened to look nice.

However, Larraq's attire managed to not entirely clash with his environment as armed and armored Mandalorians in red and black armor stood watch near doorways and patrolled the perimeter of the resort. Near the entrances, several booths had been set up where polite young woman in officer's uniforms similar to that of Rygel Larraq greeted attendees and asked them for their identification. As with all things in the corporate and criminal world, there was always an inner circle. Names like [member="Danger Arceneau"] and [member="Rave Merrill"] were waved through, after signing the Non-disclosure and Non-Compete clause of course. Likewise, those few pirates and mercenaries whose actions had warranted a reputation unbesmirched by reckless actions and needless violence were similarly waved through. The background check was not to keep out criminals. Oh no, in the corporate world, all were pirates and criminals. The background check was so that all in attendance could be clearly identified on the off chance that finances failed to check out or violence resulted from their presence. There were a few names marked in red, as was the stipulation that any attendees found guilty of open association with One Sith operations be barred from attendance. But by and large, all attendees were granted access once their identity was verified.

As the CEO worked the crowd, viewscreens set up near walls and overhead areas informed the patrons that the initial bidding would begin in thirty minutes. While pre-bidding offers were being received by the multiple auctioneers that had been stationed throughout the resort's common areas, these bids were not yet being displayed for public review. Instead, various screens and displays had been set up to advertise various Mandal Hypernautics products. Info-graphics were informing interested attendees as to the nature and capabilities of the Mesen'Loras Bio-ships. Peaceful images of Kibo Lake on Ord Cestus were shown as a handful of Mesen'Loras calves played in the warm waters of the lake. Speed and maneuverability ratings, atmospheric performances, and aquatic capabilities were displayed along with combat performance reviews. Images were displayed of [member="Naast'ika Laaran"] performing live fire testing against a Keldabe-class Battleship. The ship dipped, dodged, and rolled to avoid incoming fire. What he failed to avoid appeared to bounce off of his hull and his shielding as he rapidly approached a ship five or six times his own size. The Corvette dipped below the bow of the craft, rotated 90-degrees while maintaining forward momentum, and launched a volley of shots into the belly of the much larger craft. Plasma Cannon rounds impacted and burned against shields, forming an ever-growing pool of molten material as additional shots struck true. Round after round from the Heavy Proton Cannon tore through the shields of the craft, punctured the warship's outer armor, and detonated several meters within the hull of the ship. The video faded to black before repeating, highlighting the Auron Helix genetic research facility on Ord Cestus that had made the breakthroughs in the ships design.

Similar videos and infographics displayed and advertised the capabilities of each item up for auction. From the Ani'jarkiv Limo to the Concordia Dreadnought, every lot was fully advertised to pique the interests of the resort's wealthy guests.

That low throaty chuckle would come bubbling forth, her right leg swinging over her left. "You are a dangerous woman, Rave Merrill." the corners of her mouth would curve higher into a Nexu grin.

"Knew I took a shine to you for a reason." She'd lean in close and murmur with a low hush, "My momma done told me, stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be.

You got yourself some backbone Miz Merrill, locked there nice and tight. If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun. " she'd wave over a hovering drinking droid for something to wet her whistle.

"You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through." here came the Whyren's, two glasses, and then a quick toast.

"Come what may -- Done be that destiny is a name often given in retrospect to choices that had dramatic consequences." enter a chuckle.

"Granted, be a right shame to shoot you dead. I doubt you've a notion to be tucked close to my nethers." That was a reference to the thigh holster said lonesome gun would be at.

Ice chimed in via holo from his villas on Libertalia. After having sent in his information for his background checks and all other relevant required data, he perused the items put up by Mandal Hypernautics. He always liked there stuff. Always top notch and insanely effective, especially when combined.It was that thought that had Ice eyeing several items. He was wanting to get into a couple more fields, but currently lacked the funds to do it all at once. They were mostly tied up in other projects. But he did have one last stash of credits which he had been saving for a rainy day. And if he was able to find a deal at this auction....

After looking at the items which caught his eye, which was like half the list. "Curse that man for always making such great pieces of technology." He thought to himself. "I'm going to go broke buying this man's equipment and gizmo's!" Still he finally settled on 6 he was going to bid on. He frowned slightly as he noticed almost his entire list was already being gone after by others. "Oh fun! Here we go." He grumbled before transmitting his bid.

An audible sigh escaped his lips. He had rather hoped a large jump on a few of the items would have knocked out some competition. Apparently not. Glancing at who was his other competitor he smirked despite himself. "Of course. [member="Ember Rekali"], a Mandalorian. Fantastic. Two stubborn Mando nerfs after the same equipment. This should be entertaining." A light chuckled left him as he put in his next bid. "Fortunately, I'm fairly certain I have deeper pockets that you sir." He said to himself, hoping he was right.

She saw [member="Jared Ovmar"] sit near her, she smiled politely and asked him Do you have spare cigarette, I am trying give up but you know. Truth was she could do with giggle stick, but she could get hands on any at moment. She then while waiting for a reply, inputted a few bids.

Lot c 10,000
Lot r 30,000
lot s 30,000

She was planning on building something big, and the lots r and s would help in this. She also wonder, as she watched the video of heavy proton torpedo hitting the ship. She wonder if she put a demo of her anti matter torpedoes, though they were only on mark 1 version. Give it few years, they would mastered it.

"Well hello....who are you?" He pondered curiously at the newcomers holo. Not waisting any time, he quickly put in his next bid. Whatever this woman's plans were. Ice had his own. And he was determined to get everything he was after this day, one way or another.

Ice wasn't put off by the newest bid so much as confused. "Odd." He said quietly to himself. "Now why would you go and plunk down those kind of credits on something you seemingly didn't have an interest on before?" He contemplated the strategy here and thought for a moment about sticking her with that huge expense. Eventually he decided to play along. He had a lot in this reserve account to play with. So this increase was of little matter to him.
