Auction Mandal Hypernautics: Mega-Auction

[member="Ice"]
A phone call was place to a Mr. Ice on Libertaria , from another remote location, it was a unrecognized voice. " It seems you are intent on those items we at Tanlab Industries want, we have a proposal, We start a subsidiary that owns whatever you our new face buys here, we split the costs 50/50 and the profits as well of course. We can work out the other details at a later time, you will see that the man that handed you this phone also has the papers, if you agree and sign, and those papers arrive at my desk in an hour, we will withdraw our bids against you and you will be contacted privately at a later time. " The papers were simply a company charter and the agreement to split ownership, and that both parties had an equal say in all matters of the new company.

Ice was growing annoyed with this new bidder. "Now she wanted everything he was after? Fine. She can have it. Enjoy that bill darlin'." He said quietly to himself as he put in no further bids. It was then, Ice was informed someone had a message for him. After granting permission for the man to enter he listened to what the mysterious person on the other end wanted.

It was an intriguing proposal. But from someone he supposedly didn't know? Who offers to go into business with someone they don't know simply because they are a rival in an auction. The simple answer to that was nobody.

He gave a quick glance to the person who leaned over to hand him the paperwork. Giving a slight shake of his head to indicate he was not quite ready to accept, he replied, "A curious offer you make. Not necessarily one that I'm apposed to either. However, before I sign contracts making us business partners. I first need to know who I am working with. I'm sure you can understand when working with the kind of resources we are talking about, full disclosure is a must."

He paused for a second to let his first comments sink in. "Now you obviously, have the advantage over me if you were able to find me so easily...with your paperwork ready to go." Ice said glancing at the man again. "So pray tell, who am I speaking to?"

[member="Alli Wren"]

"Well that would be telling, and the whole who am I bit is a great question, I am sorry I can't say more at the moment, but if you would please trust me, I will ensure you that everything will work out. We need to garner trust before you gain that, so I offer this a game. My man has a key which I found when we confiscated a tenant's things due to failure to pay. Perhaps it means something to you, it had your company's logo on it. "

[member="Ice"]

Ice turned back toward the man who handed him the mentioned key. His eyes began to grow wide for a moment in realization of who he was talking to.

"Very well. You have a deal." He said quickly as he took the paperwork and read it over just to make sure everything was on the up and up. Signing it off, he handed it back to the man. "I also put more secured contact information that you can use to get in touch later. Do let me know when we might be able to meet in person to hammer out the details. I may have some other opportunities depending on how things go."

Ice frowned at how this auction was beginning to go. What was being offered for certain items was ridiculous. "One might as well just purchase them for normal price." He grumbled to himself. And that is exactly what he meant to do after the auction. In the mean time, he raised his bid on his other items, hoping the randomly spiteful woman would leave his other bids alone now that he didn't threaten what she actually wanted.

Lot J: 3x Harvester-class Mobile Mining Facility Raise Bid: 1,350,000 cr
Lot K: 1x Concordance-class Asteroid Mining Barge Raise Bid: 2,100,000 cr.
Lot L: 1x Goten-class Dry Dock Station Raise Bid: 2,100,000 cr.
Lot M: 1x Concordia-class Dreadnought Raise Bid: 1,250,000 cr.
Lot R: 8x Heavy Long Range Jamming Beam Projector Dropping Out of Bid
Lot S: 2x Heavy Full Spectrum Distortion Projector Dropping Out of Bid
Lot T:1x Defensive Armament of EM Field Generator Turrets for 1 Starship Raise Bid: 35,000 cr.

As a rather brutish and aggressive Sith, one tended to need some of the best fighting systems and armor available. Whilst reading through the descriptions of the products from a non-disclosed location, he tapped away at his datapad to enter his bids.

  • Lot G: 30,000cr
And with that, he awaited for further bids and interesting things in the auction.

The man sat way back of the group of moversand shakers. His cybereye set to record his holojack set to transmit and his ship set to receive. He let out a low whistle at the number of bounties in the same room and the collective payday dropping some coma gas in the place would bring him in. He sipped a tall glass of flaming rancor and let out a happy sigh as the bitter sweet liquid made his throat feel like it was being set on fire and scrubbed with glass.

He looked at Merrill with Danger and was just drunk enough to consider making a pass at her for the hell of it. Danger was a beauty they said but he never mixed business and pleasure and he liked her business assets more than her feminine ones. Another sip of the drink that would clean reactor fuel off a flight deck and he started scratching at the retractable holster in his cyberleg and thinking it may the pay may be worth droping the room of suits and apologizing to the boss lady in cash credits. He didn't bid. That would waste his time on things he could steal later if the need arose. Finally after several minutes he pinged Mertaal's comlink and used his holojack to send her a data message.

"Is this your hunt?" her screen would read, "and who's the bearded Mando?"

There came a slow shake of her head. There were bounties aplenty, but this wasn't her stake out per se. However, that certainly brought a curious arch of her eyebrow, hidden away behind the dark tint of her visor.

He nodded to himself and shot down the rest of his drink and waited out the protest of his guts as the powerful liquor mixed with the gurgling acid of his stomach. He slid off his stool and looked passed the moderate security and counted the bounties again. Another low whistle and he was up and walking calmly to the refresher with his large breifcase in hand. He made sure the guards saw him stumble on the way in and quickly dropped into a stall and set the case on the commode.

He was sure he was going to pay for such a bold move but you don't make big scores without big risk. He opened his case and took out the rebreather and put it over his mouth and nose. He slid a hand into his cut out pocket and opened his retractable holster to remove a MT-14 blaster and set the weapon to stun. Another, message went across a secure comm channel for bounty hunters guild members.

"Hypernautics auction, hold your breath."

He grabbed the for gas grenades, two force breakers, two knockout gas, the party was about to get interesting. He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck before he cane out of the stall. A few quick steps and he was back by security, another heartbeat and two stun bolts dropped two gaurds and the force-breaker sailed into the main seating area. Another moment and a knockout gas grenade streaming over head as his cybereye tracked movement. A shot passed his head as he tossed another force-breaker into the now rising crowd followed by another knockout grenade a few seconds later. He just wanted the bounties then he'd be gone.

Comfortably enviro-sealed, the Mandalorian sipped his Tang through a straw and watched people pass out from eighteen kinds of knockout gas. If [member="Captain Larraq"] gave the shut-this-down order, he'd be there with bells on. In the meantime, this Tang was good stuff.

Aditya looked up from her third glass of Tang and the conversation she had once started (then had her writer promptly forget about sorrythere...) with [member="Ember Rekali"] and realized the Harvesters were getting away from her. Not so fast!

"I bid 1,450,000 CR on Lot J: 3x Harvester-class Mobile Mining Facility, plus my specialty as an engineer on a special project of [member="Captain Larraq"]'s ch-h-hhurrkkrlleegurrgll---"

The knock out gas hit Aditya with the full brunt of the grenade's contents and the pregnant Epicanthix slumped her elbows on the table. The glass in her hand hit the ground with a shatter as the lover of [member="Preliat Mantis"] herself went 'thunk' on the ground.

Oh the Epicanthity! Would someone step in and save the force-less and defenceless woman from certain potential havok? Zounds, folks!

Who let that bounty hunter past security? Why did Aditya have to miss the awesome retort which would no doubt happen next? Would she get another glass of TANG?! Stay tuned, mere mortals!

Rygel Larraq continued to work the crowd, which sprawled throughout the resort. Main and secondary ballrooms were used alongside outdoor decks and side lounges. Guests were allowed to wander as they pleased and would find viewscreens, auctioneers, and the ever-present Hyperion Security soldiers wherever they may roam.

When the auction finally began, instead of funneling all of the patrons into a handful of cramped areas, the wealthy and unwealthy alike had only to attract the attention of a nearby auctioneer to place their bid.

In a distant part of the resort, Larraq heard cheering. A smile was about to grace his face when the communicator in his ear began erupting with reports of shots fired and gas attacks. A hand went to his ear and Larraq gave his own set or orders to what was effectively his private army. "Do not converge. Maintain watch of secondary areas, lock down the perimeter, and keep the rest of the guests safe. [member="Arrbi Betna"], [member="Grozurra"], and Spec Ops 03... Deal with the assailant. And someone turn up the volume throughout the hotel. Between the music, the alcohol, and the auctioneers, we should be able to prevent a panic."

His guards new as well as he did that the gas was not a threat to security, no matter its contents. While air scrubbers would likely be sufficient to protect the user from the gas attack, the two hour oxygen supply would come into effect as soon as the wearer realized the threat posed by the gas and sealed their suit from the environment. And, considering their Mandalorian heritage, happened rather quickly. The two guards shot by stun rounds, likely to the surprise of [member="Dyn Hela"], would not drop to the ground. Instead, bodies would snap to face the direction of their attacker. Personal ray shielding would be activated over and weapons would be leveled at the man. Such was the benefit of wearing body armor, stun rounds typically proved... utterly ineffective.

The guard closest to the man happened to be... a bit of a jerk, and more than a bit reckless. The weapon he chose to aim at [member="Dyn Hela"] was the wrist mounted flamethrower worked into the right arm of his personal armor. "Kneel or fry." The guard would say flatly as he checked to make sure the area immediately around and behind his target was clear of civilians.

Preliat looked up from the anger management book, and promptly threw it towards one of the force breaker grenades- out of anger. He waltzed up beside the guard, and pointed at the guy who threw all the stuff. Honey-bunny asked him to go with her to this stupid auction for stupid crap with stupid money he didn't give a stupid flippity-flop-on-the-beach-in-the-sand about.

"Fry his dumb ass."

Preliat, comfortably resting in his Beskar'kandar Beskar'gam (a mouthful), walked up to his pregnant lover, and gently picked her up. He was in a bit of a panic- who knows the effects of the gas could have on his unborn child. He rushed her out of the room, ripping his helmet off once he was out of the vicinity of the room. He leaned over her, laying her over some chairs in the lobby. His crushgaunt-adorned hand slowly stroked the space between her index and her thumb, worriedly sitting beside her on the floor, his heavy kneepads preventing any discomfort- from his real leg, at least.

"Baby.."

He spoke softly- like he used to before Elrood, to [member="Aditya Amadis"].

Then again, she was under some sort of chemically induced sleep so, you know. Sappy words might not work so great.

"Shove over, Wolf," said an older voice, rough but not unkind, and a beskar'kandar knee hit the deck. "Let's see what we've got."

His hands, still tingling from some of the contact knockout agents -- those things didn't exactly work on Ember -- trembled a little as he held his fists above her head and belly. Beneath the helmet, he closed his eyes and felt the direction of Preliat's concern.

"Feth, I used to be so much better at these Jedi tricks..."

A spherical aura, an adiabatic shield, pressed back the traces of gas that had followed them out of the room. With a grunt, he began forcibly pulling knockout gas from her bloodstream, until she started sweating a clear fluid with an acrid odor. There wasn't much, just enough to give her skin a shine. Still holding the gas at bay, he opened his left hand, and yellow-white light danced from his palm to her midriff. Force Light had a variety of classical uses; as a father of five, he'd found another, the stabilization of a baby's well-being even in a pregnancy's early days.
