Zaiya gave a giggle and an appreciative nod at Aris Noble ‘s flair of the fan. Yup, the entire outfit with the fan worked really well.

Now that the theme for casual was selected, Zaiya ran back to the changing room and slung the fabric curtain closed behind her.

Okay, a casual one. That one was the one Aris selected. It shimmered in the light, almost, with different colors. Lightweight and easy to move in, while still looking very nice.

Very, very pretty.

“No I think I’m good!” Zaiya called out, quickly changing over. The only difference with this one is that once she put it on and adjusted it, she decided to add a few pretty hair sticks to make it a little more fancy. Otherwise it was perfect!

Beaming wide, she came out with a bounce, grinning from ear to ear to look at Braze .

“Okay I’m ready!”

Casual was weird for Aris. He certainly wanted to know how it might look on him to wear clothing styles very different from his people's, but there was no denying how awkward it felt to have clothing that wasn't as easy to move in as his robes. It showed on his face as he stepped out, smoothing the shirt he was in, idly stretching and shifting his footing just to test the limits of the fabric. ".. It's weird."

Braze nodded appreciatively as Zaiya emerged, her vibrant outfit catching his eye. Despite his usual focus on more serious matters, he couldn't help but be drawn into the event by the playful spirit of Zaiya.

"I think Zaiya wins this one," he stated with a light chuckle, clearly impressed by her choice. His eyes flicked back to Aris, noticing his friend's less-than-comfortable adjustment to the casual style.

"Weird how?" Braze inquired, his tone curious. He tilted his head slightly, genuinely puzzled. To him, the clothes looked perfectly ordinary, even comfortable. Yet Aris's expression suggested a different story.

It might look weird on Aris Noble , but it looked good on him. However, what use was something looking great if it wasn't comfortable at all? No, one had to be comfy and feel pretty, so that way, it would show not only in their demeanor but also in their joy of looking as shiny and pretty as they could be.

Although Aris's sense of awkwardness in the clothing didn't put a damper on Zaiya winning this round as Braze relayed it.

"YAY!" Zaiya couldn't help the giddy clap of her hands and bounce. She even gave a little twirl, glowing radiantly as the biolumienece of her skin made her stand out again. It didn't matter. She felt pretty.

Now, it was time to help Aris out so he felt comfortable. Thinking of what he normally wore, Zaiya raised her hand and rubbed her chin.

A thought came as she saw him try to stretch and move his arms and legs around.

"Do you want something more flowy?"

"Flowy is a good word for it."

Aris gave Zaiya a small nod before he looked back to Braze. She'd given an answer for him that made a lot of sense, at least in his mind. This clothing was probably pretty common for the people who shopped here, but back home it'd be seen as constricting for certain. Dressing up, more or less. "Epicanthix casual clothing is much more loose than this."

"Like a hanfu or a toga style?" he asked curiously, his brow furrowing in thought. "Maybe find something a little bigger and you can get it tailored if you need," Braze suggested, his gaze drifting over the array of fabrics and styles displayed in the near by racks. He gestured towards an assortment of traditional garments, their colors vibrant and their fabrics rich. "We could take a look over there. They seem to have quite the selection of flowy," he added with a smile.

"I'll go look for some options too!" Zaiya volunteered, flouncing off to try and see if she could pick out what Aris might like. Something flowy, easy to move in, functional, but still pretty.

She thought of all that he normally wore around her but also considered what would look pretty.

"Toga, is more my people's style. Hanfu?"

They'd talked about that earlier, right? He tilted his head, glancing between the two of them before smiling faintly. It was.. It made him really happy to see that they wanted to help him feel better with the clothing that had been picked out. It was good to have new outfits and such, but comfort was also important, right? Maybe a hanfu was more comfortable, then?

Braze held out a hanfu-style robe, its fabric flowing and deep blue with silver threads woven through it like distant stars. "Something like this?" he asked Aris, his voice hopeful. The robe was long, with wide sleeves and high slits on the sides for easy movement. It was trimmed with an intricate pattern of vines, giving it an almost mystical look, perfect for making a good impression and freedom of movement.​

Zaiya wasn't sure what to look for other than something flowy, that would allow freedom of movement while looking fancy. Lovalla typically wore very little to begin with because they desired to show off as much skin as possible to allow their color-shifting patterns to be seen. Modesty sake prevented such styles in respectable company. However, since Aris Noble said he preferred more ease of movement she wondered if he’d be okay with something different but less restrictive.

She ended up selecting a casual, but pretty embroidered blue sleeveless long vest that allowed movement but still kept some coverage along with some comfy but easy to move in pants. She wasn’t sure if he’d be okay with a sleeveless open jacket version in blue with pretty silver embroidery as well, but she selected that as a casual option too.

She came back and held up both options to Aris Noble and for Braze for feedback.

“Do either of these work?”

Aris glanced between the three with a very focused gaze. He reached out to touch the fabric before nodding once. They were light, flowing. They worked. "Yeah, these work well I think. Tighter clothing feels weird. Skin has to.. Breath? Yeah." He paused before glancing between the two.

"Should I try them on..?"

Braze's smirk widened playfully as he nodded towards the fitting room. "Yes. Go try alllll of them," . He turned back to the racks, his movements quick as he selected a few more robes. Each was as elegant as the last, varying subtly in color and design to give Aris a range of choices. He handed them to Aris, clearly enjoying the moment "Let's see which one stands out," he added, eager to see which style Aris would favor.​

"And do a little strutting walk and spin to show off!" Zaiya called out, chuckling so hard that her patterns brightened in a dazzling display of mirth. Her eyes glittered with devilry at the thought of Aris Noble showing off.

To be fair, he would look good doing so.

After that, she gave a soft sigh, glancing over at Braze . Yup. Odds were Aris was going to win this round with the new styles.

All of them it would be then. Aris grinned, maybe a little more than he normally would, as he rushed back to the changing room to swap into the first outfit. He wasn't much for the whole showing off side of wearing clothing, but he'd step out with a smile and do a little turn around to show off each. Which was literally just him turning around slowly. How fast, how slow, he wasn't really sure what he was supposed to do, but Zaiya did say to spin. And spinning was always a neat trick, right?

"Hanfu are comfortable. I don't think I'd be limited in moving in one of these."

"I'm not convinced," Braze suggested with a mischievous grin. "Pick up a bit of the cloth in the front, cross one leg over the other, and do a little dip." He was being facetious now, curious to see if Aris would actually perform what amounted to a curtsy.

Zaiya couldn't help but giggle at Braze 's suggestion of Aris Noble giving a little flounce and a dip. Her grin split her face in half, pearly white teeth flashing as she joined to say, "Yeah! Like if you were about to ask a lady to dance!"

This was so much fun. Plus, they were all getting a new set of pretty clothes that were great for formal, casual, and training! It was good to look pretty and have it be functional.

Aris glanced between the two with a brow raised right up.

"I know what a curtsy is. It was part of my early learning." Not to preform one of course, but to recognize it. Aris was, technically, royalty after all. Not that it stopped him from preforming one for them both. He figured there was some greater meaning about his freedom of movement. "It's not preventative."

Braze covered his mouth and stifled any laughter that threatened to bubble over.

"Really now?" he said, trying to sound serious. He found most interactions with Aris a little stiff and awkward. Braze didn't have a real concept or understanding of how Aris was raised or how long he'd been with his current caretakers.

"Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to surprising discoveries. But I'm glad you found something you like. " Braze suggested gently.

Zaiya couldn't help the giggle watching Aris Noble conduct the curtsy. While she might not have been trained to provide the perfect one herself, she wasn't going to let Aris get to do all the fun.

With dramatic flair and a kaleidoscopic array of dazzling, joyful hues, Zaiya giggled and curtsied back -- to Aris and Braze 's discerning gaze; it wasn't a perfect curtsy, but the joy and giggle Zaiya gave as she did it was infectious. Braze was right. It was good to step out of comfort zones.

"Well done, good Sir!" or that would be something a lady would say right? At least her holonovels said so! Either way, she held out her hand over to Aris in a play pretend.
