STRENGTHS

• Troop Transport: The Mastodon can carry up to a total of ninety Legionnaires in its cavernous hold alongside ten speeder bikes, which constitutes roughly three platoons worth of soldiers. Robust deflector shields and a sturdy hull protect the infantrymen inside.

WEAKNESSES

• Light Weaponry: Being that the Mastodon's main purpose is a troop transport, it possesses little in the way of truly effective offensive weaponry.

DESCRIPTION

Between the Atmospheric Infantry Transport, the Multiple-Altitude Assault Gunship, and the Phi-class Heavy Dropship, the Sith Empire wasn't hurting for reliable means to ferry its soldiers from its space-faring warships down to planetary surfaces and other similar locales. However, not one to shirk away from diversity, the Empire was continuously innovating in the way the Imperial Legion cooperated with the Imperial Armada.

The Mastodon-class Troop Transport was the next logical step.

Capable of carrying ninety soldiers into battle, and sporting top-of-the-line deflector shields and a reinforced quadanium-titanium steel hull, the Mastodon can withstand a great deal of punishment before any of its passengers are injured.

Like the Phi Heavy Dropship, the Mastodon is equipped with a standard hyperdrive which allows it to operate independently from Imperial warships.
