Meeting on Voss

Visiting the former Jedi temple on Voss was more difficult than Reggie thought it would be. Getting a ride here was hard to get, which made him wonder why he din't have a ship yet. Then he remembered that he wouldn't know how to pilot the ship if he did go out and get one. There were other factors to take into account, but that was the biggest problem he had at the moment.

Reggie had heard much about Voss from others and was interested to explore the planet when he had the chance, especially so that he could visit the Temple. When he finally arrived, he examined the former temple, taking in its features and thought about what it must of been like when before. Stuff like this interested him, so he would take his time examining the temple.

The shuttles arriving at the Temple on Voss were becoming less common now they had moved, but Jairdain was usually there to greet people as they arrived now. Some would be sent back to the shuttle and pointed to Kashyyk, but others were here for a purpose.

Having met Reggie in an expedition to a new planet, Jairdain knew he was here for a reason and walked in his direction. He may or may not remember since they hadn't really spoken on that journey.

"Welcome to Voss. What's brought you here?"

Though she didn't live in the Temple anymore, Jairdain came and went freely. She picked up from him a sense of curiosity and gave him a friendly smile.

"We met briefly on Kashyyk. I'm Jairdain."

Since he was putting all of his attention on the Temple, he was surprised by Jairdain's arrival. Returning the friendly smile, he quickly responded to her.

"Ah, it's nice to see you again Master Jairdain! We didn't speak much the last time I met, but I do remember you."

Turning to face her, he bowed in respect, as he does when greeting anyone who is older or higher than him in rank.

"I'm here to explore Voss. I have heard much about the planet, so I decided to see it for myself. The Temple is the main attraction for me, so I decided to come here first."

[member="Jairdain"]

Picking up on his emotions, Jairdain only sensed friendliness and respect from Reggie. Calling her Master, she shook her head. Though she had grown up in a culture where respect was pretty much expected, she didn't want it from others. Especially not when the meeting was more private like this one was.

"Please just call me Jairdain."

He answered he was here to explore the Temple and the planet a little and she nodded.

"It is nice here. Very spiritual...I think that is a good way to put it. Not that Kashyyk couldn't be, but this is where I wanted to stay and didn't move there."

Hoping Reggie might understand, time would tell and she could help show him around a bit while he was here.

Respect was something that Reggie held at high regard, especially for others. The title of Master was no small feat, so he took it as a honor to be among one with such a title. However, when asked he would call them by what they prefer. Listening to what she had to say, he couldn't help but agree with what she had to say, and understood why she stayed here. At least, he believed he understood why.

"It is nice. Ever since I left Tatooine, I've discovered some amazing things and visited quite a few planets, but this Temple draws me in more than anything else. Spiritual as you said....peaceful. I'm just drawn to places like these I suppose."

Curious about what Jairdain was doing here, he decided to ask her some questions.

"So what brings you here Jairdain? Just stopping by to see the Temple?"

[member="Jairdain"]

"I've never been to Tatooine. Just Voss, Oricon, Kashyyk, Bastion, Iridonia and Commenor really. Iridonia is similar to Tatooine though. I think it gets a little more rain though since there are some savannah areas with grass."

Reggie spoke of discovering things in his travels and she smiled at that.

"I hope you never loose that desire to learn and remain curious all your life."

He asked what she was doing on Voss and if she was just visiting. Shaking her head before speaking, Jairdain pointed out of the Temple in the direction of a house that was built nearby. It would barely be seen, but the top would be visible if he looked hard enough.

"I live here sometimes. In a way, I guess I am just visiting the Temple now, but there is my home I live in while I'm on Voss."

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

The desire to learn was something that would probably never change, at least not anytime soon. This desire was apart of Reggie since he was young and has only grown since he became a Jedi. He smiled, thinking about how far he's gone and how much further he'll go.

Reggie followed the direction that Jairdain was pointing at with his eyes, not seeing the home she spoke of. After a few seconds had passed, he saw the home, or at least part of it.

"Ah! I didn't know you lived here."

Reggie was always curious as to what kind of Jedi Jairdain was, never getting the chance to learn what she specialized in, or what traits she had. Being a social and curious person, he always enjoyed learning what others can do.

"If I may ask, what kind of Jedi are you Jairdain?"

[member="Jairdain"]

It took him a few moments to find it, but eventually he found it and was able to turn his attention back to her. Saying he didn't know she lived here, Jairdain sort of gave a little shrug.

"Only some of the time. Most of my time is spent on Commenor as the advisor to the crown prince there. I actually live in the palace."

Reggie seemed genuinely curious in his questions and attitude and asked what kind of Jedi she was. Now the question was rather broad and Jairdain carefully considered her answer before speaking.

"I focus more on the mental aspects of the Force and how to defend myself and others. What about you?"

Being unsure what type of answer he wanted, she decided to leave out the code she followed. If he wanted to know, she would tell him though.

After awhile, Reggie realized that he didn't clarify what he meant when he asked the question. The Answer she gave was satisfying enough though, so he decided there was no need to do so. There would be more questions later, he was sure of it. When he was asked the same question, Reggie thought for a few seconds.

"I focus more on the mental aspects of the force as well. Actually, all aspects of the force interest me if I really think about, there is just so much to do with the force! I strive to become a Jedi Counselor, so that should clarify what type of Jedi I am. I focus on the force, try my best to talk my way out of situations, and strive to learn more....though my skill with the blade isn't great."

He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. He's not the best when it came to lightsaber combat, and he's been trying his best to change that.

[member="Jairdain"]

The answer Reggie gave her brought a smile to her face. She had been the same when she joined the Jedi. One that wanted to grow up, be a consular and diplomat. Focusing on being a mentalist with the Force and not bothering to worry too much about learning how to fight. Boy had she learned her lesson.

"Just don't let the Sith capture you."

Just one of her many tales Jairdain could share of her time since joining the Jedi.

"I'm pretty familiar with Shii-sho and have learned a little of Soresu. There are several forms to learn. As a consular though, I would suggested looking into Niman or Soresu since they are mostly for defense rather than attack."

Her focus for a moment was on her past and then her thoughts on the present which she spoke of.

"What do you do plan to do while you're here?"

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

While it was good advice, what Jairdain said made him curious. Reggie didn't know her background, so he was sure that it came from her past, something that she had experienced. He shrugged it off though, making sure not to make assumptions, and also not to ask questions that could get him in trouble.

The talk of lightsaber forms made Reggie think a bit. He had thought about what other forms he'd learn, but hadn't put enough effort in mastering what he already knew.

"I'm actually interested in learning Niman someday. I think it would fit me best since Niman encourages the use of force abilities...at least, that's what I thought."

He hadn't researched the forms as much as he should have, which made him take a mental note to study more on lightsaber combat. When he was asked a question, he quickly gave a answer.

"Besides exploring, I plan on improving some of my force abilities. Well, I actually hope to learn new ones, but I have found that while not impossible, it's difficult to learn certain abilities without a teacher. We'll see what happens while i'm here though! I'm a determined person if you didn't know!"

Reggie grinned, excited to improve his abilities and learn other when he had the chance.

When Jairdain gave the advice not to get captured, she picked up on that it made him curious and smiled slightly. Almost a bitter one, but not entirely humorless. However, the subject was moved passed, but if it came up again, she would answer any question Reggie had. Not wanting to keep her past secret, it may help others avoid to avoid it happening to them.

"Niman would be one of the last learned. Besides using the Force, it incorporates moves from all the previous Forms. You would need to know them first, I think."

Being blind, learning many of the moves was impossible for her. Small and fine details in the placement of feet or a hold on the hilt of a saber were lost to her. The only way for her to know exactly how to do something was through a mental image. Only one person had figured that out and how she was so well versed in the first Form.

"So many skills you can learn just doing missions. An example I can use for myself is Beast Control. Ran into a dragon out in the wilds here while on a camping trip. That was a thrill to accomplish!."

She had been young like him when she joined the Jedi and knew where he was coming from.

"Let me show you around what's left of the Temple here."

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

The response about Niman made Reggie plan out what he would do in order to get that far. He had a lot on his plate already, so learning all of the other lightsaber forms may keep him busy for a long time....which wasn't something he had a problem with. Just a lot of time would need to be contributed.

Hearing about how Jaidain was able to use Beast Control when she encountered a dragon interested Reggie and gave him hope for what he would be able to learn in the future if he only acquired experience.

"That must have been some encounter!"

When Jairdain offered to show him around the Temple, he smiled.

"Alright, that sounds like fun! I'm right behind ya."

[member="Jairdain"]

She gave him a large smile when he said it must have been something to have run into.

"That it was. I also acquired a mewvor that trip. Then I was captured by the sith and my cat stayed here. Was let go back into the wild. So I have no idea if she's alive or dead. That dragon was also returned to the wild. Only tamed long enough for us to get away."

Her words indicated a little more of her past and why she had commented about not allowing himself to be captured. These little bits of herself would come out through the way she spoke and picked her words.

"Since the Jedi moved, the amount of people here have dropped. So there are many rooms you can sleep in with all sorts of stuff you wouldn't normally get."

Of course some of them didn't do Jairdain any good with her being blind. The use of the holonet or anything visual were lost on her.

"Are you hungry? Can start off with the mess if you want."

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

Hearing the little bits about her being captured by Sith made Reggie want to hear more about her past. He was interested, but also felt sorry for her. Being captured by Sith is nothing to take lightly, so he knew it wasn't pleasant....he has know idea what she had gone through though. Deciding not to focus on the sith capturing her aspect until later, Reggie talks more about the dragon that was let back into the wild.

"The fact that you were able to tame a dragon, even though it was only a short while, is pretty amazing though! They are not creatures that can be easily kept under control."

Listening closely to what Jairdain, Reggie made a mental note to see what stuff was left around here. He wanted to learn the history of the Temple and learn whatever he could while he was here. It was a beautiful place. When asked if he was hungry, Reggie was about to say no until he realized that he hasn't eaten all day. Things like this gets ahead of him sometimes, which isn't good since eating is pretty important.

"Actually, I am pretty hungry. Starting with the mess hall sounds like a good idea!"

Reggie thought that it would be the perfect time to ask Jairdain about her being captured when they get there since they would be sitting down and talking most likely.

[member="Jairdain"]

The comment made by Reggie about the dragon taming, brought a small smile to her face.

"I almost wonder if that baby dragon is still out there."

It may not have been a baby, but Jairdain didn't think it had been fully grown when the run in happened. It would be grown up now though. That had happened something like four years ago, before she had been captured and corrupted by the Sith.

When he said he was getting hungry, she nodded and turned to head in that direction. The halls were mostly empty now, just a bare amount of people around to keep the former temple running.

The food offered was normal to come from Voss, nothing fancy or exotic. Simple fare, but likely new to Reggie.

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

Reggie followed her closely, looking forward to eating. He didn't notice how hungry he was before, but now he realized the mistake he had made. When they arrived, Reggie realized that the food here was not like anything he had seen before. Of course, this was nothing new. Someone raised on Tatooine for most of their life were bound to find everything in the galaxy new and exciting, especially someone of Reggie's caliber.

"It seems like I find something new everywhere I go. The galaxy has so much to offer!"

He said this to himself but didn't realize that he had spoken loud enough for Jairdain to hear. Talking out loud was something Reggie had developed recently, and was something he rarely noticed. He turned to Jairdain, wondering if he could start grabbing food.

"Is it okay if I just grab some food, or do I have to pay? I have money with me, so it won't be a problem!"

[member="Jairdain"]

"If a day goes by where you don't learn something, better check your pulse to make sure you're still alive."

Jairdain spoke with a smile on her face and in her voice. While what she said was true to her, not everybody had the same view on learning. Life was a learning process and he had so far to go. Even she had much she could learn and knew that she didn't know everything.

He asked about having to pay for the food and she shook her head.

"No, this is covered by the Jedi and is included for the people that stay here."

The offer of money wouldn't be rejected if he insisted, but it wasn't needed.

[member="Reggie Faayare"]

"Thats a nice view on things! Definitly something I seem to live by."

What Jairdain said was something that Reggie believed was true to him. Everyday he learned something new, either through his experiences or through his research. Even so, he knew that there was much more to learn in this world, and he barely scratched the surface.

As Jairdain answered his question, Reggie examined the food he could get. He wasn't a picky person so it didn't really matter what he ate, but the food was still new to him. Grabbing a tray, Reggie grabbed a fair amount of food so he could begin eating. He didn't need much, just enough to take his hunger away.

"Will you be getting anything Jairdain?"
