Meeting on Voss

After a few minutes of walking, they reached the area where the quarters were. Here Reggie would see what she meant by the various choices he could make for his room. Jairdain pointed out the ones that were currently empty and waited for him to make his decision. Once he did that, she would continue the tour if he wanted.

"There are rooms for meditation and a sparring area if that's an interest."

Pointing this out in conversation, she considered how to go about teaching him how to use the Force to see.

"There are a couple of ways. One of would actually blind you for a few minutes or I could put a blindfold on over your eyes."

When Reggie saw the rooms, he knew exactly what she meant. He guessed that some of the rooms were originally meant for different ranked Jedi. Being someone who didn't mind where too much about where he slept, Reggie chose the simple Padawan room. He only needed a place to stay for the night, nothing special. Someone else may want the other rooms anyway. He walked up to the room.

"This one will do just fine."

Reggie listened as she spoke, making a mental note about the Meditation and sparring rooms. When Jairdain began talking about the ways to use the force to see, his excitement rose. The options given to him were a bit different from each other, and he was willing to do either one. He made a guess that if she made him blind for awhile, it would be more effective, which made him inclined to choose that one.

"I'm going to take a guess and say that it would be more effective if I chose the first option If that's the case, I would be fine with going blind for a few minutes."

After Reggie selected his room and put whatever he had brought with him in it, he then expressed in having her blind him for a few minutes. Jairdain gave a simple nod and motioned for him to follow her.

"Probably be best to do this in a meditation room. This way you won't be able to run into something and hurt yourself while you're blind."

The area was currently accommodate only a fraction of what used to stay here. But the rooms still had their purposes and she lead him to one of the meditation rooms. As they walked in, it lit up to reveal a few different ways to get comfortable and she choose to sit on the floor.

"Tell me, do you what is called Mind Trick?"

When Jairdain suggested going to the meditation room so he wouldn't run into anything while blind, Reggie nodded and followed her. When they arrived, Jairdain sat down on the floor and asked him a question. Reggie decided to sit down as well, taking a seat on the floor and faced her. After taking a seat, he answered her question.

"I do know a Mind Trick is. Force users are able to use their powers to influence a person's mind and have them perform a specific task."

Reggie knows how to do it himself, at least knows how it works and how to perform it. He had never actually used the Jedi Mind Trick before, never really needing or wanting to use it. It's a useful ability, but wasn't something that should be used excessively.

He sat down in front of her and answered her question. From what he said though, Jairdain gathered he may not have actually attempted to use it on anybody. Today he would and that person was her.

"I want you to try and use that on me. You see, I have a mental defense that will make you go blind for a few minutes. However, that skill I use to blind you, I don't think I can teach. When I was little and before I ever knew I could use the Force, it was built up on its own. However, when it does go off, you will be able to see like I do. So go ahead and use Mind Trick on me."

Jairdain waited to know if he understood what she asking of him and what was going to happen.

At first, Reggie was surprised that she wanted him to use the Mind Trick on her. After she explained what would happen, he understood why. The mental defense that she talked about was surely interesting when she talked about it to him, somethin he would ask more about later.

"Alright, so once I use the mind trick, your mental defense will go off and blind me for a bit. Got it."

Reggie went to begin. He looked at Jairdain, waved his hand in front of her, and began speaking to influence his target. These were the steps he discovered to performing the ability, so he went through the motions.

"You will forget that I was here."

Reggie didn't actually know what to say but since they were going for a desired affect, it probably didn't matter. Now he waited.

It was clear Reggie understood why she wanted him to use the Mind Trick and what would happen to him if it worked.

Jairdain felt him embrace the Force and attempt to influence her mind. With her resistance in place, that natural defense she had built up as a child kicked in. Like a whip it lashed out at him.

Her blinding skill had blinded a sith lord, so it was something that was quite powerful. Granted Krest was not mentally conditioned to be a fighter in this aspect, but Reggie was a padawan. In theory it would effect him like it had Krest and the children that had tormented her when she was growing up.

If it did, then Reggie would immediately loose his vision, but if he opened himself to the Force, he would see as she did.

Even though he knew what would happen, panic began to rise in Reggie when he lost his eyesight. He quickly calmed himself however and opened himself to the force. after awhile, he was able to see some sort of aura in front of him, which he assumed that it was Jairdain's presence. This was unlike anything Reggie had experienced before, so he tried to make sense of anything he could see through the force, keeping what Jairdain said in mind.

He made sure he kept his breathing in check, making sure to stay calm. This was still something he wasn't used to, so panic could easily creep back into him. Reggie was actually intrigued with what he was experiencing. This was seeing through the force, and it amazed him. A force user being blind was definitely different from a person who can't use the force.

Feeling a sense of panic and maybe some confusion come into Reggie, Jairdain knew he was blinded. He got control of his feelings and opened himself instead of running around blindly like many others had previously.

Now what he saw through the Force might be different than what she saw. However, whatever images, colors or outlines he saw weren't as important as the fact he COULD see with the Force.

When he did, she felt what he was feeling and smiled. If he was looking at her through the Force or if he was empathic like she was, he would be able to tell she was pleased. He both could now see through the Force and maybe see the world like she did.

"The blinding will only last a few minutes. However, in the chance you get captured and have something put over your eyes, you know how to open yourself. However, if the Force is deprived of you, then you're in trouble."

There was a touch of humor in her voice at the end.

Reggie chuckled a bit at her last comment, noting the humor in Jairdain's voice.

"Hopefully that won't happen any time soon."

He was talking about being captured and having the Force deprived of him. Though he would prefer being captured in his opinion. The Force was apart of him now and has been for awhile now, so if it was taken away from him, even for a moment, it would leave a scar on his psyche.

"I have definitely learned from this experience, and I'm sure it will be helpful in the future. Thank you for giving me this opportunity Jairdain!"
