Mission to Corbos

"Okay Lorna, you got this one. Lead the way, I'll be right behind you to cover your back."

Lorna had found a map to the shield generator room. This gave Jade another idea.

"I've got an idea Lorna."

Jade would shout out as the two Jedi ran down the corridor, deflecting laser fire with their lightsabres, taking out anyone that stood in their path.

"Save some of those thermal detonators. If we set them to blow up the shield generator, we could probably cause it to blow up the whole base too. That will fulfil our primary mission objective which is to destroy and eradicate the bio weapons lab."

She could do that while moving and deflecting a shot back into the chest of the stormtrooper. A look over some of the things while her attention went to getting some of their packs as she slung them over her shoulder from the back. "Got some, we can use them as needed, she was listening and hearing the first explosions come from the ones she had set before running towards her master with some out to give her. The other hand deflecting shots back or to the side as needed before she was slashing some of the troopers down and disabling the door controls to close them. They could keep going and running before she set other timers on delay to detonate some of the more open sections with the shield generator in view when she slid it throwing one of the troopers tubes with a timer.

As the two fought their way to the shield generator, Lorna would place detonators on timer along the way at key points. Then they finally got to the shield room.

"Toss me some bombs. I'll help you place them."

The two would do just that before making their way out.

"Okay let's get to the speeder bikes. This place is soon gonna go kaboom. Hopefully everything gets destroyed, and whatever survives, the jungle predators can finish off. Let's hurry as those bombs will be going off soon."

After disposing of several more stormtroopers and officers alike, they finally got to their speeder bikes.

"Okay get ready, we have to wait until the explosions start and the shields drop, and then hit it before we get blown up too. Until then sit tight as we can't get out."

The minute or so that was left would pass by. A minute that felt like eons. And then bang! Explosions could be heard. More explosions, getting louder and louder, closer and closer.

"The shields are beginning to collapse, go, go, go before we permanently become part of the rubble."

And then the two Jedi would race their way out, just in a nick of time as the entire Imperial base was engulfed in a ball of fire. With that the bio weapons lab was also destroyed. Mission accomplished,. The two would head back for their ship. On speeders the estimated time back to their ship would be a couple of hours or so. As they sped off into the thick woods and into the distance, three other speeder bikes would follow, with the Jedi completely unaware of it. Valeria who was accompanied by 2 stormtroopers had managed to escape the huge fireball. Valeria still had unfinished business with Jade. Even if she didn't kill Lorna, she was determine to kill Jade for the murder of her fiancé.

Lorna was with her master and the mission was over, all of the hard work they had been doing as she sat there with her attention on her saber and her cloak. "That was intense master, I wasn't expecting all of that." She was and had thought she was ready for anything. It was just some troopers and you know legendary monsters... instead they had faced some horrors and nearly been killed cause people were crabby. They were the good girls, bad guys should tremble and surrender before them she thought but it had not been so as she leaned back relaxing a little in the ship. At least now they could go back to the temple and find some purpose in writing it all down and filing it away.

Several hours passed, finally Jade and Lorna reached their ship. Just before the two would get on board their ship to return to the temple, they would do the obvious thing and get off their speeder bikes first. Jade would sense something unusual approaching and approaching fast. With no time to think, Jade instinctively activated her lightsabre.

"Get down Lorna!"

Jade deflected the enemy laser bolt back at the speeder bike of the stormtrooper that had fired it, hitting him and knocking him off his bike, although the blaster bolt had already killed him. The second stormstrooper rode straight for Jade, with all guns blazing, however Jade easily deflected all of them with her lightsabre, and as he came straight for her in an attempt to hit her with his speeder, Jade moved slightly to the side slashing at the stormtrooper, slicing his body in half. Then came Valeria. She however did not fire at Jade, instead she stopped her speeder only a few metres from Jade, got off and approached her.

"You there Jedi. Sorry about those stormtroopers shooting at you. I couldn't tell them I was wanting to defect, however I knew you could deal with them."

Jade would stare at her a moment and then lower, and then turn off her lightsabre. She then would begin to walk towards Valeria.

"Very well then, you wish to come with us then?"

"Oh yes, I know I was angry at you for killing my fiancee, but I didn't realise what the Imperials were really up to, just how evil their intentions were."

Jade would then come close to Valeria, put her hand on her shoulder and both would begin to walk towards Jade's ship.

"Valeria you are most welcome to come with us off this planet. We can ____".

Jade's sentence was however cut short, as Valeria would quickly spin and from somewhere produce a knife and stab Jade on the side of the hip. The blade would penetrate flesh, but miss any vital organs, was still however enough to shock Jade who screamed. Valeria then pushed her to the ground after she pulled the knife out, jumped on top of Jade and put her hand on Jade's mouth, while pushing her head back and into the ground.

"You are gonna die now you frakken krak for what you did to my sweet love!"

Jade tried to move but couldn't. Her eyes wide opened looked into that of Valeria who still held her hand to her mouth and held Jade down with her own body weight on top of Jade's. Valeria then readied her knife for the kill. Now it ultimately would be Lorna's turn, her padawan who Valeria had forgotten about to rescue her master from certain death.

Lorna was being careful there with her master as one of the storm troopers who had been all for killing them came after them... Lorna was prepared and ready for anything until she said she wanted to defect. Her master seemed to let her gaurd down for a moment as Lorna went to turn and then she struck pinning and attacking Cynna with Lorna moving. Her body reacting and the saber activating as she slashed focused and carefully to strike the woman's arms and the front of her body but not kill her.... just disarm and the padawan held the blade while pushing with her force energies to better help her master ad get her released from the pinning hold.

One moment Jade was on the ground with her attacker on top of her zeroing in for the final blow, and the next she was pushed off and held at bay with her padawan's blade the only thing separating her and Valeria's knife from slitting her throat.

"Good work Lorna."

"You Valeria do not dare move!"

Jade said as she tried to get up slowly, clutching her hand on her hip which was gashing blood.

"Oh I so hope you die you wrench!"

"Not gonna happen today, and you're still coming with us....... In binders."

Jade would then lower her ship's ramp and instruct Lorna to take her in and bind her at the same time which she concurred to.

"You think this is over Jedi, I'll get you for this one day, that much I will promise you."

Jade still clutching at her hip approached the now cuffed and binded Valeria.

"You know that you talk too much."

Jade then punched Valeria in the head by king pinning her, knocking her out cold.

"That will shut you up for our journey back. Lorna where's the med kit?"

Lorna of course already had it and soon after treated Jade's injuries. Well at least stop the bleeding. She would of course get the proper treatment once they were back at the temple, which they then laid a course for and soon after were on their way back.

Lorna was looking at her master and gave a nod as she watched it all and then was heading off for the medical kit to get all of the stuff they would need. it would be a little easier though thanks to the harder work Sakura had been doing for getting healing supplies into the hands of the common jedi. No longer was it an exclusive club.. Feena Mason had given them a lot of knowledge and all of the synthetic and things like nysillin as she was getting the packets of it out. It wasn't like bacta they could rub on her but injecting it while cleaning the wound would be the way to go as she gave it to her. "We can get it going and this will help the healing processes, the bacta patch will work on patching you up and cleaning out the nasty parts."

Lorna was good at applying the treatment on Jade. In-fact she seemed extremely knowledgeable.

"You can do that stuff better than me padawan. I'm impressed and am feeling a whole lot better already."

Jade would laugh jokingly The reality was that the treatment would be enough to keep her going, as she would get proper treatment at the temple. Yet after their long hard enduring mission, Jade despite her injuries was always in the mood for a little humour. The trip back to the temple from that point on was uneventful. Jade would hand Valeria over to the authorities and then get treated for her injuries. A day later both herself and her padawan would present their mission outcome to the Jedi Council. Satisfied with the result, they would soon be dismissed.

"Well Lorna, you have proven your worth. A Jedi you certainly are. Without you, I would have failed. This was a perfect trial for you. A trial which you have passed with flying colours."

Jade stopped walking and placed her hand gently on her padawan's shoulder smiling.

"What do you think of the prospect of you becoming or graduating to the rank of Knight Lorna?"

Lorna stayed there with her master while she was working with the medical tech until they managed to get back to the temple and the council. Giving the information to the workers within the labs where they could go to get leviathan hide and some things to study. She was looking over most of the things while letting her attention go to the larger things. Presenting what happened to the council and all the people asking about things for their reports. It was a different experience, she had seen the council go through to tear reports apart and condemn many jedi in the past so she was glad they they seemed calm and understanding. A look when she came out and joined her master with a small nod of her head. she liked the idea of being more intuned with the jedi order. "Yes master I would gladly accept." She could bring more then enough honor to her family with it all as the Halcyons were becoming a better part of the order.

As the two made their way out from addressing the council, [member="Lorna Halcyon"] would tell Jade how much she appreciated the prospect of becoming a Knight.

"Yes Lorna, you have earned it. You have passed the trials. Rest up for now, I will see you again tomorrow where I will present you in front of the Grand Audience. It will be an important day, so I suggest you get some rest for the rest of the day."

Soon after that the two would part ways. Lorna would indeed rest up, very excited and looking forward to the next day where Jade would indeed be presenting her as the newest Knight to the Jedi Order.
