Money for Nothing, Chiss for Free [Cyberattack on the Red Ravens]

Robb laughed at that, he couldn't resist. "There's always something to fear from people like the Red Ravens, Jarven." I mean they sent a karking dropship to the promenade. He sniffed once and rubbed his nose with the back of his free hand before continuing. "Look, as I said before, Myn was with her sister and I until she ran off not too long ago. That's when everything went to hell."

Robb took a small step closer to "Myn," placing himself a little more between her and Jarven.

"Hell, I'll call her sister right now if you need evidence." Robb's wrist-comm wouldn't work without a holonet connection, but his spare commlink could make direct calls to the ship in emergencies. Robb slowly reached for the spare on his belt, and keyed the emergency button. Robb raised the spare commlink, slowly, and held it up in front of Jarven. The commlink chirped alive and hummed softly as it attempted to establish a connection without accessing the holonet. Come on Kohai, answer the karking comm....

"Well, they can't all be bad. I'm here, ain't I?..." Jarven smiled at Bach. This woman was obviously important to Bach. I mean, who could possibly care THAT much about someone they hadn't previously met?...Well, besides Jarven...and plenty of other people....Frell, that wasn't a good analogy. The point was that Bach likely wouldn't be helping this woman unless he knew her. A friend of a friend is a friend, or so they say.

Jarven sighed and waved the comm aside. "Forget it, Bach. I'm just glad to have you back." With that, he hugged the man again. After he broke the embrace, he smiled happily at Bach and Myn, looked out as a spotlight passed by, looked back to them, and said, "Let's get you two out of here."

"...two fifty six...five hundred twelve...ten twenty four..."

Kohai couldn't remember the last time she'd been this bored. She had been bumming around the 'Cause for what seemed like an eternity, and she was running out of ideas. There was, after all, only so many times one could actively break parts of the ship, before fixing it just got tiring. The crew would probably get mad, too. Grounding the ship would be hard to explain.

"...Eighty one hundred ninety two..."

It wasn't her fault though. Here they were on Nar Shaddaa, notorious jewel of the galactic underworld, and she was sitting on the floor, adding parapets and a watchtower to her card castle. It was times like these when she put serious thought into adopting a vice or two. She could go drinking with Corvetta or something. It would certainly make their recent drop in business easier to wait through. It wasn't like she had any contacts to... contact or anything like that.

"Sixty five thousand...five hundred and...thirty six?" Her voice trailed off as she pulled her hands away from her pazaak empire. These numbers were getting ridiculously high... Scooting carefully away from her project, Kohai rose to her full height. She had an unusual urge...

Seeking out her blaster, Kohai punched a few buttons on the panel next to the loading ramp, before scampering bare-footed onto the cold metal of the suspended landing platform. Wrapping her scarf around her neck a few more times, just to be safe, the engineer looked out over the industrial skyline, pouting at how far away she felt from everything even remotely exciting. Taking a deep breath, Kohai let out an echoing cry, firing blast after blast from her pistol into the durable walls of some distant building. She probably wasn't even hitting it.

Like most cheap thrills, however, it couldn't last. Standing out there shooting at nothing in her pajamas like a lunatic was beginning to slide from thrilling to embarrassing. It also occurred to her that this was a rather risky thing to do. It would probably be best to get back inside...

Not a moment after she closed the ramp behind her, however, the familiar chirping of the comm systems in the cockpit were going off. Someone was calling! It was the most beautiful sound in the whole universe!

Taking off in a reckless sprint for the cockpit, the girl neglected to watch her footing... and charged headlong into her castle of cards. Panicking as gravity took her, she reached out for something to grab on to. She succeeding only in flailing like an idiot before she fell into hundreds of scattered pazaak cards. Her Card-castle-kingdom demolished by a giant blonde monster. It also occurred to her that a shot had been fired as she went down. She noted the fresh scorch-mark on of the more comfortable cushions.

"..Poodoo..." There was no time to cry over spilled Kohai, however. Someone needed to answer that.

Shaking off her fall, the engineer scrambled the rest of the way to the cockpit, practiced fingers trying to answer the call...

"Hello!?" She cleared her throat. "I mean... who is this?"

...Nobody...

"ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!?"

Robb was happy to avoid a fight he would have surely lost, though he would feel even better once he was away from the promenade. Robb's intervention in this matter was really starting to wear him down. Why am I doing this? I could be back on the ship reading, or drinking, or both. Robb switched his emergency-comm off and clipped it back on his belt as another spotlight passed by overhead. Well yeah, there's that. I'm in it now. Kark. Robb kept his blaster drawn and at his side, just in case.

The smuggler was unsure what would happen once they got away from the Promenade, he'd probably part ways with "Myn," as soon as she saw fit, and just head home. Hell, he wouldn't have been surprised if "Myn" simply disappeared along the way. Robb offered a cursory glance her way. It's not as if we need to stick together anymore. Robb glanced back at Jarven. At least once we split from him anyway.

Robb stepped aside and indicated for Jarven to pass with a smile and a nod, "Lead the way, Jarven."

(OOC note: I apologize for the lackluster post. I am pretty tired, but I just really wanted to write something. I'll edit it later if necessary).

Well... That went much smoother than she had expected. And all because she had randomly chosen the name 'Bach' for her mysterious partner-in-crime! Either she was too lucky for her own good, or she was too lucky. As long as this 'Jarven' character was not playing some nasty trick on them. Nozomi may or may not have innocently scammed a person or two over the Holonet, so she did not consider that possibility to be out of the picture yet. She was a nice person--a little crazy, even--but she was not entirely a saint. All of the bank accounts she had just shaken up were not guaranteed to be Raven accounts. She had indeed caused a bad day for some good but unlucky people.

Hopefully she did not cause an extremely bad day for 'Bach'. Time to distract their friend and try to get his mouth running the whole way. "Bach won't tell me the story. But I wanna know!" She was wondering just where they were going, but wherever it was was nearer the spaceport. That could certainly be convenient. "I think it's because I told something to Sis one time... It was really funny! But I wasn't supposed to tell."

(Apologies on my end, too. Much too late for me to be writing! :D)

Jarven turned the wireless capabilities back on. He sent a message and a rendezvous point to Pilot. "This way." He led them through alleyways, streets, and up a couple of ladders, if they would follow. At the top of a particularly tall ladder, they would end up on a rooftop. Soon enough, a shuttle appeared and landed close to them. The doors slid open and he stepped on board. Turning around he looked at Myn and Bach. "All aboard the Handwave Express. Where to?"
