Muddy Waters - Trial of Courage - Hawk Solo

[member="Relic"]

Hawk raises an eyebrow. "Oh okay. All right let's go." He still wasn't sure about the man. But at the moment, he was helping him. That all Hawk cared about.

"I wanted to check out the area that she disappeared from.. It might give us a clue to what happen." It worried Hawk that he couldn't sense Iella. Something bad happen to her.

He follows her tracks through the mud until he reached the spot where she disappeared. He knees down in the mud to touch the ground. Reaching into the force, he tries to get a glimpse to what happen to her.

This was strange, the tracks just disappeared. Of course Relic peered into the force as well to see if he could make any sense of it. This was Hawk's trial though, so the silver shadow was going to leave the discovery to the Padawan. Iella was at risk though, so he would not let him fail either. No one said he couldn't gently guide if things went wrong. This was a test of courage, not skill, so they could work together.

"Tell me, what are you sensing. Something doesn't seem right here."

He closes his eyes. "I sense her panic. ..everything happened at once....water...swirling water.." He opens his eyes than looks at the murky water. He reaches his hand to touch the water. His danger sense goes off. Quickly pulls his hand back.

"I wonder if anything is alive down there."

Mean while Iella awakens from her darkness to find herself in a deep under water cave. For the moment she is safe, air fills the cave from the small opening to the surface but she physically can not see a thing. Her senses tell her the cave is vast but unstable, the marshes walls constantly subjected to collapse. However she ignites her white blade, her only source of light and it casts a scene only the strong of heart can view. Many old and not so old bones of all types of sentient beings and creature litter the floor of the cave.

The smell is not only coming from the rotting vegetation of the marshes but from decaying bodies as well. Her stomach heaves at the sight and it take all her strength to hold the contents.

Up on the surface, movement. Behind Relic and Hawk, coming the impressive form of the beast. The muddy waters sliding off it's scaled body, a thick long neck protrudes out with long fang like teeth. Eyes pierce the back of the two men, nostrils flare taking in their scent .. it smells their hot red blood pumping within them and hungers for them. Reptilian feet move forward toward them, Hawk and Relic would soon be aware of it's presents... they are in it's territory and out of their depths now.

A roar issues from the large gaping mouth.

"Guess that answers my question." He quips to Relic as he stands. He ignites his saber prepared to do battle with the creature. He knows that creature had something to do with Iella disappearance.

Hawk takes a few steps back as the creature approaches the shore. Being a water creature, Hawk wanted it to come on land. It would lose some of it advantage that water gave it.

Relic simply stood back. This was Hawk's trial. There would be no interference on his part. Instead, Relic fixed a breathng device to his mouth and dove into the water once the creature had been on dry land. He would go after Iella.

The large beast clawed his huge body out of the boggy waters, and started toward the two men. Nostrils flaring as it took in their scent, vemon dripped from it many jaggered teeth as it could already taste their flesh. Large webbed feet spread out to gain ground underfoot, and lunged at the two men with surprising speed for such a large creature.

However, the creature can only use it's sense of smell to locate it's victims, life in the muddy water and dwelling in the cave, has given the creature poor sight, it can only see in black and white and the images blurred.

Sensing the creature movement Hawk slides in the mud out of the creature way. The mud covering Hawk's body would mask his scent from the creature for a little bit. Hawk didn't want to kill this beast. It was only protecting it territory. The creature wasn't making this easy on Hawk.

To survive Hawk would have to kill it. Hawk force leaps onto the creature back and thrust his saber into the creature body.

Relic swam though the murky water to where Iella had been kept. Wet feet touched upon the cave floor. The light of her saber can be seen, and Relic makes his way to her.

"Can you swim?" he asks, sending his thoughts to her mind.

Hawk had handled the beast. Relic could sense it. Right now it was about the master's safety.

"Yes I can swim", was her only reply. The Life Jewels had saved her once again and restored her to full heath. Iella stood and smiled at Relic, she knew the man behind the mask, but that was her only indication of recognition.

"There is a creature somewhere, had you seen it?", she asked as she sent the force to search for Hawk, she wondered where he was and if he was ok. "Where is Hawk?".

The creature roars as it rears up and trying to throw Hawk off. Hawk holds on tight as his blade sinks down slicing the creature in half. The creature shudders than dies. Hawk emerges from the carcass covered in the creature's blood.

Time to find his master. He walks to the water edge. He glanced back at the dead creature hoping that it didn't have any friends. He put a breathing device in his mouth as he wades into the murky water until the water hit his waist than he dives under the water.

It was dark. Hawk could only see a few feet in front of him.

"He is dealing with the creature," Relic said returning the small grin.

His presence here had been arranged, by her, but the creature's had not been. As it had turned out the test of courage Relic was to have provided came from the creature. The only reason Relic had insisted on going after Iella was because he was better skilled in healing. It had been a skill the knight had thought important to invest in. So while he was not a master at it, if needed he could help. It seemed he was not needed.

"His courage was incredible, though his passions need to remain checked. The way he just had to come after you, had I been Sith, I wood have easily killed him. His desire to rescue you trumped everything else."

Hawk was coming, Relic could sense it, so he stopped his evaluation before the Padawan could arrive.

"Thank you Relic", she smiled as she stood up a little unsteady on her feet, but that soon past. The Life Jewels had done their job and Iella would soon be back to good health. "You comments are duly noted, thank you for assisting".

"I sense Hawk is on his way here, we shall wait. Just in case another appears .. no more surprises".

Allowing the force to guide him. Hawk found the underwater cave where Iella and Relic in. He swims to mouth of the cave and looks inside. He could faintly make out a lightsaber light. Yes, this was the place.

He swims to the edge and climbs out of the water. "Iella? Are you ok?" He says restraining himself from giving her a hug. He was relieved to find her alive.

"I am fine Hawk", she smiled at him, well he had past this trial. Relic had given this thoughts and Iella would address them in the coming Trails.

"Now come on you two, lets get the hell out of here". She laughed more now.

The End.
