Minch
Afraid, you are. Worried, I'm not.

Elpsis Kerrigan-Alcori said:"I am no Jedi, and I'm damn glad I'm not,"
Minch stared morosely at the deadened earth where Darth Excidium's poison had destroyed the plant life in a huge swath. The woman Minch had come to help during the battle, Elpsis, and her words came back to him as he walked this place. There was a shock in the bitter words that Minch could feel. Why were things so different now? Where had things gone so wrong that a Jedi was no longer viewed as part of a benevolent ideal? His family had only ever talked highly of the opportunity to become a Jedi.
Elpsis Kerrigan-Alcori said:"Maybe you should go pay the Togorians a visit. Or the Eldorai. Or anyone who's been a victim of the Sith. Not in ancient times, but recently. And ask them how they feel like cuddling the people who've oppressed and tormented them. Hell, go chat with the Jedi at your enclave."
He'd never meant it like that, as though everyone should be inhumanely passive in the face of oppression. He knew the Sith were bad, but, even if you really wanted to, you couldn't lump them all together and give into hatred. Some Sith were undeniably cruel and evil while others were simply trying to get by in a structure that actually welcomed them. It was easier to view them all as a single, evil mass, but quick and easy is also the way to the Dark Side. The galaxy needed methodical defenders of peace with the wisdom to know when to intercede and when to heal. Taking the high road was never meant to be easy, which is why many had failed to maintain it.
Elpsis Kerrigan-Alcori said:If you try to parlay with monsters, you'll only cause yourself pain - and those you want to protect.
Minch remembered his refugee outreach work. It had never been easy to maintain and establish a solid foundation for the refugees amidst the criminal pressure and the daily settlement maintenance troubles. He had watched many good people perish in his time, but giving into the anger would only work against everything they had given to build a peaceful home and thus waste their noble sacrifices. It had been long and arduous, but also enriching and worthwhile.
There was a place for Jedi, real Jedi, in this galaxy; a sore need, even. There would be enemies, apathetics, misguided "allies" who are assured in their own ideals, but that's to be expected in this mad, wild, incredible, beautiful, scary galaxy.
He breathed in...and he breathed out. Much better. A smile lifted Minch's mouth and he peacefully walked back to Silver Rest.
