Never be too busy to meet someone new

The world of Voss had been only a concept in her mind two weeks ago. She had known it was a planet, she had heard its name mentioned by the many pilots that made their landings on Corellia but she had never imagined herself confronted with the prospect of calling this planet her new home. It had been two weeks since she had joined the Order of the Silver Jedi. Two weeks since she had taken a step closer to fulfilling both her promise and her dream. And today she took another step.

Dagrim sat on the floor, legs crossed, posture straight and arms relaxed. To anyone it would have looked as though she was meditating. Truth was she was simply breathing, trying to calm the nerves that circled her stomach and climbed up to her chest. Today she was meeting the one to be her Master and she could not help but feel both happy and slightly anxious at the idea. There were many questions floating up her mind. But at last, she was calm.

She had hopeful expectations for this day, she thought of tomorrow with a slight, peaceful smile on her face and for the first time in the last months, she did not have to struggle as much to keep more negative feelings dissipated from her heart. Today she could remember her mother with content and not with sadness.

Dagrim had arrived earlier than she had intended to not a result of meticulous punctuality but of pleasant anxiousness. Now, all she had to do was wait for the arrival of the man who would guide her through a hard but rewarding path.

He had taken on a padawan, another one but given the others they knew how to train themselves reporting back to him when they were done with their solo areas. THey had worked a great deal to learn how to survive in the wilderness alone.... Some of the others well he wouldn't have to do that while he stood there. The sasori shielding amulet was there as the buckle of the belt that was around his main cloths. THe loose fitted pants providing him some cover before he was walking. The sash over his eyes, short hair just damp enough to show he had gotten out to prepare for this. No real way to see the chrono but he could get the droid to tell him what time it was as he was walking.

The necklace showing for herself when he wore it and the lightside of the force was there. His pants were designed and made from the synth mesh for the jedi. A beacon of the lightside of the force when he had on his boots. Walking forward to go and meet the padawan while the short fine hairs on his torso bristled telling him about the other ones there around him. The scents were in the air before he had his sabers on his belt walking towards the room. His supplies were simple, he didn't need much and here on Voss he needed less as there were no predators to go after the food or equipment that made up his campsites generally. So that was a plus when he entered the room.

"Hello padawan Sega." Walking over towards her he stood at the ready, presenting nothing really in his stance or facial expression as it was blank. The energy rolling off like a mantle you could display within the force as the jedi master liked to let others know he was coming. Here though he was mostly sticking to being prepared and neutral as he stood there to see her. "Rise up." He wasn't to worried about it as they could first and foremost get to know each other. It was how he had started with Iella and she had become a great jedi founding the well refounding the Order of the Silver jedi to fight the corruption of Kiskla that had come to the foreground. "I am master Syn of the Silver jedi Order."

Her eyes slowly opened as soon as her inner perception signaled her of the approaching of another. Though her force sense was one of her best abilities, Dagrim was still a learner and she knew that the person she had recognized, whom she was guessing must have been her new master, was not far away. Her suspicions were confirmed when, soon enough, her instinctive feeling was replaced by the sound of footsteps softly drumming in her years. They slowly grew in volume until someone entered the room.

The young padawan had been afraid of her nervousness striking her again when the moment she had been awaiting for finally came. She felt content when the calmness within her didn't subside. Her master spoke first, saluting her. Dagrim stood up and turned so as to not give her back to the man, a warm smile on her face and her light blue eyes tingling in the soft light of the room. Her body, thin and slender was clad in the normal attire of a Jedi Padawan. The only thing added to the very standard, beige-colored uniform being a tiny, modest silver chain that loosely surrounded her neck and disappeared into her robes.

She could feel the light-side of the Force flowing through him, her own connection to it displaying pleasantness at this and making her feel increasingly more ready for this new experience in her life. Judging by the band covering his eyes, Dagrim deduced that her Master must have been blind. She did not feel any less respect for him. Simply following what she felt she needed to do, Dagrim bowed her head, her kind expression never leaving her features.

"Greetings, Master [member="Syn"] . It is a pleasure to meet you" Her voice was light and melodious, carrying the warmness that she also displayed in her expressions. She was truly happy at finally having met the one to be her Master, the beginning of a journey she had been wanting to take since a very young age.

She seemed eager almost and it rolled off her while he walked over and well he couldn't see her beyond an image in the force. "And you." He was thinking of how best to start in some cases. he wanted to see what she could and would be able to do when he stopped moving. Voss was a large place and there were things on the planet that you could face as dangerous, in some cases. In most it was also good for the short term training methods until he went off world. Some of the worlds were a lot more interesting to do. He knew they would have to go out but she would need to be able to survive. "Though padawan, I can admit that this is not going to be easy. I am not like the other jedi masters."

He stood there and was prepared before rolling his shoulders as the sound of the bones shifting and popping was a little louder. "I am generally not on planet, I train my students out in the other worlds. Your ability to rough it and travel around will be tested, your ability to cope with being almost alone all of the time." He started walking again and well there was plenty of supplies they could keep and have for themselves. Areas to set up a small camp with everything that they would need when he had a small smirk on his face. "It will also be easier to teach you away from things that might break in the temple. The force has many mysteries but I don't like to hold any punches in training those training under me."

Dagrim listened to his words with attention and a look of interest and concentration in her face. She acknowledged his warnings, his plans. And she found herself in deep understanding of them. Though being very social she did not feel uncomfortable in solitude, she had been quite independent since a young age and the prospect of taking care of herself was not a deterrent from her true objectives.

A smile stretched her lips at her Master's last comment. "I understand, Master [member="Syn"] . I have traveling experience and do not have any issues with remaining by myself, at least not as long as it is not for very long periods of time..." She was honest with herself. A couple of weeks, three months at most, she could see herself standing in solitude. More than that and she knew that melancholy would surely set itself on her heart and start wearing it. Maybe in the future, when her skill to vanish her emotions was further developed, she would be able to live with the company of the Force alone for as much as she wanted.

A question then formed itself in her head, and she decided to speak it "Will we be departing from Voss soon, Master?"

"As soon as we are able to get a pilot to handle the ship we can take off. There is some questionable creatures on Vaynai near one silver temple there." He said it while walking and was prepared for some questions. He wasn't exactly certain what the creatures were just strange which for him meant. Usuaully force based or darkside based depending on the location. Meant punch it until the thing either stopped moving or left. "It might not be the most appealing but as something basic to start out with while you learn in the field." Best way in his opinion to learn and practice the skills for the jedi. You interacted with the people, got to give them information as well as yourself about what you were doing and he found it to be a very impressive feat. He was moving to lead the way through towards the hanger bays. "Have you have any previous experience?" He wanted to get to know her and well not make it boring if they were just going to rehash the same things she learned with another person.

Most in her place probably would have rushed to answer, Dagrim was a good listener and an attentive one so she listened to everything her Master had to say before answering while walking not far behind him, her hands loosely at her sides. Dagrim had quite a graceful pose, straight yet not forced and of a gentle and fluid pace. One of her many abilities, though unknown to her, was knowing how to express herself not only through words but through her poses and expressions. It was one of the most significant reasons why Dagrim had always found it easy to be around new people and for them to socialize with her.

"I can pilot, Master. I guess its part of the Corellian genes..." She added in slight jester and smiled warmly. Truth was she knew many Corellians that knew nothing about piloting. Their numbers where negligible compared to the ones of the Corellians that did know at least the very basics of it. Dagrim was quite a good pilot herself, an ability probably inherited from her father, though it was not in her modest nature to boast about it.

The Jedi Master had also explained the situation going on in the planet Vaynai. She wondered what those creatures might be and what was the problem they were causing. But before answering his last question, Dagrim looked a the tiny necklace hanging from her neck, then raised her eyes back to the man in front of her as he led the way.

"My mother was a Jedi, Master. She only taught me the core abilities of the Force. Her lessons were more extensive in the theory field. She believed that learning how to meditate, about the history of the Jedi, their beliefs...it was more important. She used to say that if I wanted to learn more, I should follow a path she was not the one to lead. That is what brought me here" She new she had answered more than what had been asked but she thought it necessary and she found some sort of relief in having someone else to share her past, even if its most important and lingering parts were yet to be revealed.

Hmm so she was a pilot. He could handle that and it would be able to make things far better for them. If she piloted the ship it would be faster as well since one fo the explorercorps members wouldn't have to be assigned as his pilot. The thoughts were there, the hanger he led her into with the one vanguard was being loaded up. Not a massive and impressive ship but something you could have a small training area in the second hanger. The garage was being loaded with additional supplies and crates as well as two of the repair droids. Different parts while the hide of a large leviathan was on display in the hanger along with a couple of the other ones. Sections from his time working on Corbos in the pits when he spoke.

"Then that will make this much easier though I am not sure what path your mother would have wanted you to go on. I'll try and teach you everything that I know and have learned over the centuries." He said it casually and few really understood the younger looking master was just starting to look older. The lack of the long hair helped as well before he led the way towards the ship. "If there is anything you might need here or for the ship. I may have extra robes in my size for when there are parts." He said it and was unsure but some of the other padawans and initiates who had been assigned scut work to build characters... in other words they were in trouble and now had to lug around the parts for the other jedi.

"Master Syn, Master Syn. We finished cleaning out the cargo bay of your ship. THere were a lot of guts from those things." He shrugged while grinning and looking at the young ones as some more things were being loaded up but he could see more of it within the force. "Good, tell your masters I saw it and was pleased." It took a moment for the padawan to get the joke but they were laughing about it. While his new padawan had the chance to get what she needed from the quartermaster for equipment the jedi master was able to get into the ship and it was clean as weaving with the force allowed him to see the metal of the ship all around him for himself.

The exterior was simple and shades of dark purples and blues while the interior colors were veined blue from the force enhanced synthweave. Allowing it to be seen in the force with equipment for training and personal defense but there was also a good amount of food for heading off to be alone for long periods of time. Syn stood there while he waited for her to come and pointed out what he could. "There are two crew quarter to either side of the ship, the cargo bay doubles as the armory and has a biometric lock so it can't be opened while in space. The cockpit has mostly been set up for droids or regular pilots to handle it and the medical area provides whatever you need."

Her brow slightly deepened in confusion and curiosity when her Master used the word centuries. It was either a hyperbole or her Master was indeed a long-lived being and, if this was the case, judging by his youthful appearance he would still have many more to live. Soon after, Dagrim saw two young padawans approach them and she smiled warmly at them.

Her expression sullied a little at the mentioning of guts. She had a very hard stomach and the sight of blood or organs did not directly disturb her. Its just that she associated them with acts of violence or accidents, more often than not the visible inner filling of beings were exposed on those occasions. The idea that violence was sometimes needed had been one of the hardest ones to accept. Her mother had taught her that although she should always try to avoid it, sometimes doing so would be behind ones reach. And one should be ready when those times came.

Dagrim's face morphed into a beautiful, wide smile as she slightly laughed at her Master's joke and the Padawans' initial reaction, before they caught on to it. While the Jedi Master boarded the ship, she proceeded to ask the quartermaster for the little equipment she was still in need of. Truth was she had been provided most of what she could have possibly needed as soon as she had arrived. What she had asked for were just a couple of things she thought would come in handy in the upcoming...adventure.

After thanking the quartermaster with her usual and sweet politeness, she did not lose time before joining her Master aboard the ship. Once she joined him, he proceeded to explain the basic layout of the ship. "Understood, Master. Thank you." She said, still smiling slightly. That smile of her didn't seem to disappear for more than three or four minutes at a time before returning.

"We take off at your command, Master." She added, letting him know she was ready to depart whenever he saw fit.

A small nod to her when she was ready. Going towards the decently spacious cockpit while he used the map itself with controls that showed the force weave so he could tell which was which. "Set course for Ambria, since the Republic pulled out of the system it has been uncontrolled." He knew the danger's of letting worlds strong in the force be somewhat unmonitored. Anyone could go and set up there endangering others who might go to see the planets. Ambria itself had a large canyon where the force was strong as well as a lake that was tainted with the darkside of the force. Darksiders and darkside creatures were attracted to the world when he was standing there.

"Once we are on course and in hyperspace come to the training bay when you have your stuff stowed." He said it while turning back around to make sure all of his gear and equipment was ready. The twin lightsaber blades he had ready and set up the room. Training droids were on the wall with repair droid that kept them working. Equipment on the wall as well with different outfits for gear. He was there and prepared getting some gloves for himself while they were cushioned and secured. The variable gravity plating in the room let training at increased levels be done. He was guessing the basics for her may include enhancement of the body but the force took energy. So first lesson endurance while they were traveling.

As she entered the cockpit her light blue eyes wandered through the force weaves of the spaceship. It was the first time she had seen something like this. But now again, the last weeks had been full of first experiences for her and she was starting to get accustomed to exploring and discovering. She made a mental note of everything that caught her attention in particular ways. And many things had particular, intriguing aspects she would like to know more about. However, focusing her mind in the task at hand, she looked at her Master with her classic calm and kind expression as he instructed her to set the course and to meet him in the training bay after she had installed herself.

She took her place in the cockpit and prepared the ship for departure, setting the coordinates and double-checking everything before she took off. Indeed she had some kind of natural skill for piloting and soon enough they had left Voss' atmosphere and where succesfully and smoothly jumping into hyperspace, headed to Ambria. After checking everything one last time, just for habit's sake, she made her way to the living quarters and chose a relatively small, empty room that supplied for the things she could need. Quickly organizing her stuff, Dagrim prepared herself to meet her Master and made her way to the training bay. She had tried to make Master Syn wait for as short time as she could manage.

"We are successfully on our way to Ambria, Master. I hope not to have made you wait for long..." She said, her voice honest and with a tinge of apology in her tone.

He turned around to look at her as she arrived. He stood there in the center of the room and spoke. "It is alright, we have more then enough time to begin before we arrive." Moving over there as he motioned for her to come in and join him. "We'll start with the basics, the force is one of the most important aspects of a jedis life. You will use it more then you know throughout your life from now until you become one with the force. That has some benefits, you can preform feats normal beings in the galaxy cannot. Your reflexes with it shall be enhanced, perceptions going faster which will allow you to react to danger if it comes at you. You body will be under an intense amount of strain that you will need to learn."

He stayed in place but focused internally. Allowing the force to recoil inwards them his muscles bulked, the veins becoming like metal cord underneath the skin, the definition appearing more before he moved around. THe force body and enhancement of his own speed appearing more to let him run and move in a blur that appeared to non force users like a blur or even like he disappeared for a moment. "Enhancing your body is only the first aspect, it is also knowing how to handle the strain on your body. How to manage and control yourself so that you are not uselessly wasting more energy with each breath, with each movement while you are using the force."

He stayed there for a moment. "The other aspects of it come from building off the basics. Once you know how to enhance your body you can know how to heal yourself, extend it further to know how to heal others. ENhancing your mind builds to stronger meditations you can use while focused or even moving around and from there stronger understanding of how to mentally influence those around you. For good or for ill to take the fight out of them. Different schools of the force such as the white current, the magics of the witches, disciples all of it can be built up and taught to you with generally understanding and focus. Your endurance is then the most important part."

The corellian human moved further into the room towards her Master, as had been asked of her. She held her hands relaxedly together in front of her, feeling the warmness of each other as her ears concentrated on attentively listening to the Jedi's words. She felt the bittersweet amiability of memories reaching up her chest. A remembrance of her mother's lessons. She had learned from her the very basics of enhancing oneself, to maximize the body's physical capabilities. However, what her Master had just demonstrated was far beyond what she could achieve at the moment and she did not feel discouraged as much as she felt amazed.

She tried to understand how to focus her strength on her body. And then, as though some major instinct guided her, she did not try to think of strength or speed but rather on the Force. As she closed her eyes and breathed slowly she imagined the Force flowing through her, penetrating her muscles, merging with the fibers and tissues within her. She then repeated her Masters actions and ran through the training pit at an amazing speed, returning then to her starting point next to [member="Syn"]. By the time she had released her hold one the Force within herself, she felt slightly agitated. She still had much more stamina to use, but the enhancement had proved a little bit complicated to control as regards energy consumption. Yet not achieving her Master's feat, she was pleased with her results and patently awaited any corrections her Master might have liked to give her.

Then she heard her Master's last words and feeling curiosity rise inside of her, in addition to the content of her previous little success...or at least, at not having obtained a complete failure, she decided to ask, "Master, do you belong to any of these schools?"

He was watching her and could feel it in the force when he moved. SHe had the basic form down, now it was just the parts you needed to work with. Time and training so you could learn how to control it and working with the techniques instead of moving onto the next. "YOur form is good, now it is about being able to preform at that level and getting stronger then you use it. From there the more taxing abilities can come naturally from it." He was then looking at her when she asked about other sects and schools of the force. "I have over the years been trained by the Fallanassi to understand and feel the white current as well as trained by the witches in their uses of magic."

He stood there for a moment before turning opposite her. He was standing with the same enhancement but it came off as more natural state to be in. His view of her in the force while looking her over was more like a blob of blue energy in his sight. "Those skills should you want to learn them I can teach you with time but we want to make your stamina. Make it so that you can maintain enhanced abilities for yourself without effort. If you are required to go into combat you will be able to sustain it, if you are chasing down someone you will be able to overtake the or if you are being attacked from blades or blasters you will be able to dodge to protect yourself."

While he would teach her to dodge and weave around attacks he wasn't one to discount knowing how to take a hit so that would come with time. Learn how to fall and handle the impact to minimize the damage done so you could keep moving forward, you could keep pressing and showing your skills. THe jedi master stood ready for any of it and his one hand came out ready for it. "Now see how long you can maintain it while preforming a kata. Your movements will be enhanced much like mine, the force will be something your body uses to react and protect itself drawing on your connection and you will start to feel it in your body. Everything will take some adjustment eventually."

She nodded at the Jedi's answer and returned the whole of her attention to his explanations and indications. Dagrim had always considered lessons to be like a kind of present. A very valuable and special one. She had always admired those with the ability to teach for such reasons. Forming others in order for they to become what they wish to become was no minor achievement and not everyone was suitable for such responsibility. For teaching entailed a lot of responsibility. She was still blind to her own ability in the field of teaching, which represented itself first in the field of learning. She was patient, attentive and constant. And would have been more so was she aware of this characteristics in her.

The young woman smiled softly when he offered to pass on to her the knowledge of these schools, feeling some sort of gratitude she couldn't keep behind. Still, she decided not to comment anymore for the time being and let things be when they had to. She knew there was no good in rushing time. It didn't listen to anyone's demands.

Then, abiding to her Masters instructions, Dagrim pulled on the power of the Force once more and enhanced her body trying to correct her form, making it feel a little bit more comfortable and less tiring. She knew that the only way to improve would be practice, and she couldn't have been at better terms with that idea. Practice was just another, maybe the most important, face of learning and she liked it as much as the rest. She then awaited for her Master's further command with patience.

He could see that she was working with the force to give herself it then she was easing into it. Some he had trained went for the enhancement to the point they were a lot stronger but they were also burning more energy to maintain it as well as actually decreasing their speed because they managed to increase their muscle mass so much. She wasn't doing that yet while he moved and stood at a comfortable distance. Close enough he could adjust but he wasn't just standing on top of her. His fingers coming out as he moved her and tested to see that she was there able to not be pushed over. "Good." Now they could go to the next and more impressive part to move around. He held out his free hand and the room changed colors as he could hear the electronics activating. The variable gravity plating was to build endurance and speed for the jedi. Give them some weight when they were moving around. He moved over there when the weight was on him and the twice standard gravity was easy to move in for most but there was a reason that soldiers wore full gear on worlds with it. So they could learn to move around on normal worlds faster. His body was moving in a kata as he spoke. "We'll start simple, move your body and focus on your mind and your breathing. Allow your thoughts to vanish to the back of your mind where you can control the abilities with the force without having to focus on them. Just like any reflex or memory you need to train it and moving in the increased gravity will work to build you up."

She nodded once and closed her eyes. One of the teachings of her mother Dagrim had fully embraced was meditation. Meditation had not only fascinated her because of the deepened connection to the Force it provided but simply because of how it eased her soul and mind. She was sure that even if she had not been born a Force-sensitive she would still partake in the sublime action of meditating. Because of this, Dagrim was both a very sensitive being and very good at blocking her emotions in favor of a clearer mind. Maybe this was also the reason why she had an uncomplicated experience when practicing with the Force. Her presence in it, her connection had been developed by a habit she had followed since she was around twelve years of age.

She then felt how the air around her grew heavy on her shoulders, but not as heavy as it would have been if her body had not been protected through the Force. She knew she would be able to do this, the last thought that ran through her mind being that of a positive mentality. And then there was nothing. Only the Force. Then slowly inhaling she started to move in a kata, prioritizing the precision and smoothness of her moves before trying to gradually gain speed until she was moving at what would have been a normal, fluid speed in a normal gravity. She could have gone faster, yet she did not rush into things not only for the sake of getting the basics right but also because she was getting used to this and needed her Master's feedback before raising the difficulty of the exercise a little more.

The movements were simple, just standing in one place as you moved your torso but it served more to get used to it. Moving meditation was generally forgotten he had seen by a number of the different jedi masters, only a handful of padawans even knew what it was same as some of the skills that went along with it. Which wasn't exactly a great feeling but it was something that he tried to correct while the force flowed freely. Allowing the energy to shift around the room as in his vision was showing the flow of the force around them both. Moving it with the body, with her movements around when the force shifted. He could sense out further from here, going towards the planet they were venturing to.

"Now once you have it, the motions, the flow of the force for yourself so that you will be able to channel it. The movements can function as the meditation to allow your mind and body to focus. Eventually as you do it you can find the ability to move in your kata around a training area." He knew some who could enter the state of meditation while they were battling and it allowed them to react, their bodies to channel the force almost disconnect to their minds giving them reaction speeds improved compared to others he had seen. He was moving and making it so she could see and mirror him at her own pace. He slowed down to match hers showing his footing for her to follow as the lights he couldn't see to show the heavier gravity were painting the room in red.

Feeling how a state of both utter relaxation and the highest of sensitivities took over her body, she started moving more smoothly, a little bit more swiftly. Her light blue eyes were placed on her Master, her movements following his as he moved. She had never heard her mother define it as moving meditation, now again she was not sure if she had ever seen her doing the very same thing she was applying to this exercise now, when she was for example, dancing through the small garden of her house, eyes closed and mind blank. None of those thoughts mattered right now, for the only information in her mind were the Jedi's words and the flowing Force.

She patiently gave herself time to replicate her Master's movements and only when she felt comfortable with them and was in sync with him, she closed her eyes and softly exhaled. She could feel how her mind went completely blank. As though it had left her body for a moment, for it to be replaced by the calmness and equilibrium of the Force. And she started moving. Her feet pacing slightly and precisely as they replicated the kata's movements in a flowing motion trough the red lit room. She could feel the Force inside her increasing and increasing. At first it was blissful...but then she lost her grip, her restraints.

Dagrim stopped any sort of movement suddenly, and somewhat, desperately forced herself out of the deep meditative state. She had never been so deep into the Force, it had overwhelmed her, sent her body, mind and soul into override. And for long seconds she remained sitting on the floor, holding her head between her hands as the feeling she had went through slowly stopped its attack on her body.
"I-...It felt far too..." She couldn't get the words out. She couldn't describe what she had just experienced. And she knew she had went far over what her current limitations allowed.

He remained ready, prepared while the force was moving and then was doing much the same. Finding that place where you are able to meditate and detach from the time that was happening. Slowly he pushed the force energies around them until he felt something. Not knowing exactly how much time had passed though for the trip meant they could have been there for a minute or an hour. HIs own senses going from the continued motion before the gravity returned to normal. He saw his padawan sitting there with her head between her legs and moved kneeling down on one knee with an offered hand as well as the other going to her back. "Are you alright?"

He was reaching out with the force to try and see if there was anything he could feel but she seemed physically alright. No scent of blood or sounds of pain from trauma. so he was unsure. what had happened to her while he waited there. Sending what force energy he could into her so she might be able to recover and heal. It could be simply trying to keep going with a severe lack of energy in which case there was food, the different foods made that jedi could carry in their belts or even with the ship grow themselves for long missions. It had been recommended that he get calming tea grown so he would be less grouchy but. "It can be different the first time for everyone."
