- Structure Name: New Cov Jedi Temple
- Classification: Jedi Temple
- Affiliation: New Jedi Order
- Accessibility:
- The Temple is located deep within the highly dangerous New Cov jungles and built into the mountainside near a large waterfall. Because of its geographical location, it's extremely difficult to find without any prior knowledge of its existence, and only the Jedi are currently aware of it. Getting there on foot isn't easy due to dangerous fauna and flora, so the easiest way to access the Temple is to land with a shuttle on the Landing Pad out in front of the main structure.
- Description:
- The New Cov Jedi Temple is built into the mountainside in a remote area on the planet, deep within its dangerous jungles and far away from any of the domed cities. It consists of the Main Temple structure with a large landing pad out in front where the trees were cleared, a long bridge, and the Temple grounds on the other side, where two smaller buildings stand on opposite sides of the path.
- Temple Map:
Main Temple
After landing on the Landing Pad, the Main structure is directly ahead and just beyond a small path through the trees and plants that remain between the landing zone and the Temple. Within this structure, the Jedi have rebuilt the rooms to the way they were originally in the days of the Old Republic. In total, there are 2 large rooms on the main floor, a staircase leading down into the Halls of Healing, and a staircase up to the level with sleeping quarters and the access point to the bridge that leads into the Temple Grounds.
- Serenity Springs
- When entering the Temple, the large room on the left is the rebuilt Serenity Springs, once home to the Jedi Seers of the Enclave from the Old Republic. They used the peaceful setting of the room to receive and interpret visions, meditate or offer other Jedi guidance. While Seers are still welcome to use it for their vision sessions, the room is mostly utilized by Jedi who need a moment of peace to meditate and reflect on their training or duties.
-
- Council Chambers
- The room on the right from the Temple's entrance was once the Council Chambers, a place where the Jedi Council of the Enclave would hold their meetings or invite Jedi for conversation, guidance, and to assign them missions. Completely rebuilt, the room can be used by the NJO's Council whenever they need a place to meet, but other Jedi are permitted to make use of it for their own meetings and discussions as well. On the sides of the room, archives with information are present, detailing more important historic events, sector maps, galactic maps, and anything else one could need during a meeting related to Jedi business.
On the far end of the room, there is an open doorway leading onto a balcony, where a lounge area has been set up with a view over the jungles below. This is meant for the Council or other Jedi to relax and wind down after lengthy meetings. -

- Halls of Healing
- In the back of the Main Temple structure, there is a long-winding staircase that leads down into the Halls of Healing. Here, the Jedi Healers would treat injured Jedi or those who were brought to the Temple for medical assistance. In the old days, Kolto tanks and other medical equipment were set up as well, but those have been replaced by more modern Bacta tanks and other equipment pieces. With the New Cov Temple not being fully staffed constantly, there are also medical droids available should any Jedi get injured during their stay at the Temple.
-
The Long bridge runs between the second floor of the Main Temple and the Temple Grounds, thus connecting the two pieces that would otherwise be separated by a large drop and a waterfall. On top of the bridge itself, tall statues were built and various tables and other places to sit were set up for Jedi to study or spend time together.
During the rebuilding, the statues were repaired and all tables, carpets, and benches were replaced since the old ones had long broken down.
Temple Grounds
The area on the other side of the bridge is considered the Temple Grounds, which is divided up into several sections. After leaving the bridge, the archives are on the right side, additional barracks are on the left, and directly ahead are the Gardens. Further in the back of the Temple grounds is the training area, where lightsaber classes are held or Jedi can keep up with their personal training routines.
The following is a map of the Temple grounds:
- Jedi Archives
- The 3-level building on the right side of the bridge is the Jedi archives, where any and all information the old Enclave had about the Galaxy and its history were stored. On the first floor, the information was open and available to all Jedi, while the second floor contained restricted material about more dangerous topics. The third floor leads up to the roof, where a large vault was placed to store Holocrons, as well as a list of known Force-sensitives. All valuable items were recovered during the rebuilding efforts but the new vault offers Jedi a location to store their holocrons in.
-
- Barracks
- While the Main Temple structure contains small sleeping quarters for Jedi, those were often reserved for the Knights and Masters. The room on the left side of the bridge were barracks made for the younger Initiates and Padawans, so they had a place to sleep and study together when they weren't out on Temple Grounds.
-
- Gardens
- Walking past the two buildings on Temple Grounds, one would quickly run into the Gardens, an area where trees, plants, and flowers create a peaceful setting alongside a gazebo and various other tables that were set up. During the Old Republic era, the Jedi often taught classes there, held discussions, or simply relaxed together with tea whenever time allowed it. They were rebuilt very much with the same idea — it's supposed to offer Jedi a calming area where they can work, learn or talk to each other.
- Training Area
- All the way in the back of the Temple Grounds, a stone training area was built where Jedi were taught about lightsaber combat or learned the more physically demanding Force abilities. Valery Noble , as former Battlemaster of the Enclave, was once in charge of maintaining the area, and much of it stood the test of time. Now, it remains the favored place on the New Cov Temple for more serious training.
-
- The Waterfalls
- On the other end of the Temple Grounds are the Waterfalls, a more open area where some classes were taught in the old days, and where Jedi meditated or even went for a swim. Just behind the waterfalls is an entrance into a vast cave system, which was used for a variety of purposes as well.
-
- The Caves
- Just past the waterfall on Temple Grounds, the caves were once a more quiet area where some Jedi enjoyed the peace they offered. But in the days of the Old Republic, it was also where the Jedi Artisans had set up workstations for lightsaber construction and held classes about designing and building the weapons of the Jedi. After the rebuilding of the Temple, however, the area was set up with security equipment to make sure no force of evil would be able to reach the Temple without those on its grounds being aware.

SECURITY
Medium:
- Hard to find: The Temple was built within the remote Jungle on New Cov, and blends into the terrain quite well since it was built using stone and very few materials that stand out. Because of its age, no records remain about its existence either, so currently, only the Jedi are aware of its location.
- Jedi presence: Should someone find the Temple, they will encounter mostly just Jedi, and those should never be underestimated, especially when they're protecting something important. To try and attack or destroy this Temple would result in a clash with them.
- Neutral Territory: New Cov is located outside the borders of any large factions, which alongside the fact that it's dangerous to travel across the surface, makes it less likely for anybody to find the Temple. This helps conceal it from potential threats even further.
- Cave Security: Within the Caves at the back of the Temple, Dagon Kaze has set up some security measures, some of which help keep an eye out on the space surrounding the planet. Should trouble find its way to New Cov, the Jedi will likely be able to evacuate if deemed necessary.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Just after the Sacking of Coruscant in 3653 BBY, some Jedi did not retreat to Tython to build a Temple there and ventured out into the Galaxy to create more remote places of learning. One such Enclave was formed on New Cov and began as a place where new generations of Jedi could be trained to fight in the war against the Sith Empire. But unlike the more traditional Jedi, those of the New Cov Enclave developed a more extreme set of beliefs when it came to Sith or fallen Jedi — they did not believe in Redemption or Atonement as viable options to pursue and sought to purge anything tainted by the Dark Side instead.
One Jedi who grew up within this Enclave was Valery Noble , and after many years of service as a Jedi Guardian, a Jedi Shadow, and later a Council Member, she was elected to become the Grandmaster of this group of Jedi as well. Under her leadership, they participated heavily in the war and took a role in many of the historically well-known battles of the time.
But during the Battle of Onderon in 3596 BBY, Valery Noble disappeared and was presumed dead, but In reality, she had gotten badly injured and was moved into a medical stasis pod somewhere deep inside a remote facility, where she was never retrieved from during the remainder of the Old Republic days.
But not long after her awakening thousands of years later, she met Kahlil Noble on New Cov when she decided to return, hoping to learn about what happened to her old Enclave. He supported her when she struggled after finding the ruins of her former home, and they soon fell in love to start a brighter future together. What she didn't know, however, was that he planned to rebuild the Temple when time and circumstances allowed it and after being together for about 2 years, the time had finally come.
Following his proposal to Valery on Life Day, he brought together a large group of Jedi and rebuilt the entire Temple, part as a gift to her before their wedding, but also to offer Jedi an additional place to train at, use as a travel stop or to some, it may simply be a location to visit because of historical interests about the days of the Old Republic.
