When the Grandmaster offered a Silver Sigil that the Silver Circle Healers used to those newcomers present, Samara just smiled and reached up to pull a silver-chained necklace with the three healing crystals mounted on a circle out from within her inner tunic, smoothing it down on the outside of the mocha chocolate Jedi robes worn.
"I still have the one you gave me on Voss before I left, Master Kitra... I have been using it wisely since then and growing in the healing Force," the apprentice healer nodded humbly, then began walking with the others towards the medical tents.
There were so many needing medial care! One couldn't start to think about the sheer number, but rather just jump in, taking one case at a time giving each the attention they needed yet being efficient. Thank goodness the patients had been triaged already so that was helpful.
As the two masters and novice students began treating patients together so they could learn the basics of the healing arts, Samara stepped over to another area. The Vorzydian loved working with children and often spent time with the younglings at the temple. She had received not only training with the Force to heal wounds and sickness, but the padawan had also learned conventional and alternative medicine from different mentors. It was important for Samara to be well-rounded for not being the strongest in the pure Force as most Jedi, she would need to rely on all the methods to give patients the best outcomes. Sometimes it was as simple as a reassuring smile and comforting touch. Other times it took everything one knew to pull a person from near death through. Hopefully today it would just be more so the former and not the latter.
Samara quickly sanitized her hands, then went to the next waiting patient. She used a medscanner first to assess the man's wrist that he had hurt when taking a nasty fall getting off one of the refugee transports. It was as the padawan thought... an all too common fracture of the distal radius bone from outstretching his arm to catch himself before hitting the ground. Luckily the break was non-displaced so healing it would be easy enough for her to do.
The apprentice healer after explaining what she was going to do sent the patient a wave of comfort through the Force to ease his pain, then took the healing amulet in one hand and placed the other over the injured area on his forearm. Closing her eyes, Samara let herself fall into a meditative state, visualizing the broken bone and injured tissues surrounding it right down to the cellular level. Drawing on the Force, she wrapped the healing energies around and through the fractured bone mending the broken pieces back together good as new... Well that is what hopefully happened. When finished, she doubled checked with the medscanner once again to make sure it was aligned properly, then splinted the wrist with instructions to wear it for the next few days to give his wrist time to heal fully.
"Thank you!" the man offered appreciatively.
"You're most welcome," Sam smiled back warmly despite the weariness she felt after using the Force like that. Building stamina hopefully would come with time and practice.
