Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

Matsu had a look on her face while she held the saber in one hand and held it up. Taking the moment. "Well a jedi with a lightsaber can be a strong thing but it is the combination of the force, the jedi and the saber that makes them powerful and one needs the will and heart. Otherwise they are just swinging wildly and hacking away with no purpose."

She slowly pushed the training saber in a tiny circle around herself, then looked at the teacher's, back to her own shortly. "Well, how do I learn the Force with it? Just do it a bit harder?" That's what force meant to her, anyways, as far as she knew.

"Like this." Matsu looked at her while she moved back a little and walked in the air up to hover while she was holding the saber at the ready. "You begin by centering yourself and feeling the force energies as it guides your movements. When you take a stance you keep yourself ready and focused." She was ready and floating there the jedi master kept heiniko at the ready to defend and see what the girl could do."

"I don't know how to stay focused on stuff like that. What exactly am I focusing on?" She pressed on her training blade's hilt a few times, finally managing to turn it off. Not knowing where it went, she just held onto it and looked up at the trainer, unsure what to expect, or to do.

Something to focus on huh... Matsu was thinking about it as she worked on some of the things and kept her attention changing over a few things in her head with the blade activated and ready. "Focus on my blade and strike at it." She looked the padawan over before hovering there pointing her blade down for her to attack and practice with.

Never find yourself crossing blades with a Jedi.
What if you were a Jedi now, papa? Abbey felt a slight nervousness run up her spine, her muscles locking up, yet breaking through as she moved forward slow steps to re-activate her own blade. She looked down at the humming plasma, then slowly brought it up. Gathering strength, she focused purely on the blade she was supposed to hit, bringing in all of her previous feelings about the temple, all the fear and anxiousness, all into one striking blow to the saber, hoping with her calculations it would hit.

Matsu stayed there while she was feeling the energies and the blade coming at her before she kept the blade at the ready to block and push her padawan back. "Good, now again." She was keeping it up and floating there as she moved around in the air letting the force expand outwards to sense the area around them and off in case any of the larger more dangerous creatures came up. "You are getting it but stay focused and relax, allow your body to move before your mind thinks it over."

Abbey took a small breath and gulped down a few feelings leaving her tense, struggling to keep relaxed. Her mind raced with feelings, trying to figure out how to use them to make her blow stronger than before, how to impress her teacher with her first training session. Again she took another furious blow to the lightsaber, this time keeping herself more relaxed, letting her body take her moments before her mind could come up with a reason for her to be calm.

Matsu remained there and moved her arm not focusing on the girl but giving over to her body reacting. Letting the force guide her body before it told her head and she pushed to be there with her padawan defending from the strikes. "You are getting better but I can almost hear your mind screaming things. You can think in a duel but don't overthink, the force and your bodies instinct can guide and protect you a lot faster at times then your mind will allow. Your instincts will work to keep you safe." She was impressed though and was never one to take away from the work the padawan could do while moving around.

Abbey huffed loudly and looked up with small upset eyes, gripping her lightsaber tightly before going into a sudden blind rage, furious blow after furious blow onto the opposing saber with her own, thinking onto of where to focus on the Force to help her become better at what she was doing in this upsetting duel. She was already angry enough that she couldn't do it right, and hoped maybe just that would help her push over the edge and get it done.

Matsu felt it and was moving, her saber moving to block and defend as the padawan seemed to be getting angry and frustrated as she stayed there moving through the air. "Calm down, anger and rage will not be the way to go. You'll make mistakes and those who use the darkside will try to tempt you into joining them." She remained there watching the girl but reacting with her body. "And once you start down the path of the darkside it will be a long road that most can never come back from."

At this point whole tears were streaming down her face. She suddenly turned off the saber and slumped onto the ground, half hiding her face into her arms. "It's too hard. I can't fight without using my anger, or else there's nothing else to fight with..." As she gently weeped at her own failure, her mind raced and thought of the possibility of joining the Dark Side. Right about now it wasn't seeming all that bad to be taught to use your anger for things like this.

Things like trying to defeat a Jedi - and impress them along the way.

Matsu looked at her go as the jedi master came down touching the ground and then knelt wrapping her arms around the girl. "There there it is something all must learn and such thoughts of not having anything else is one of the first steps." She remained there and sent energy and emotions of calmness to try and sooth the padawan. "Your anger will slowly burn you out and leave you hollow, it might seem good now but what will it leave you in five years to be angry with the galaxy? Will you attack everything until the only option is self destruction because you have amassed so many enemies they are united in getting rid of you? Will you run dry and just become so numb you can't feel anything so you slowly die on the inside? No good will come from it in the long run."

More tears dribbled down the young girl's cheeks. She slowly shook her head to the questions and half collapsed her head against the master's chest, struggling to keep calm with the help of her master's energy. "It's just too hard... I can't do it, I can't do it... I tried.." She whispered in a tiny little broken tone.

For someone who had just trained for only a few minutes she was giving up quickly.

Matsu remained there and just brought her free hand up while she was holding the girl, like with her children she knew how to hopefully ease her fears and doubts while patting small circles on her back. "It is alright, you have done good. Just let it all out and then here with me you can begin to find something else. Anger is easy, hate is easy. Real strength that comes from within is harder to get, harder to see and so much stronger."

Slowly Abbey let out another hot breath and shook her head one more time before standing up with a small scowl, moving away from the comforting hands. "Can I just learn a few things I can do daily? I want to rest for a while, I just need to learn something." She said with a small upset look on her face. It was clear she didnt want to be here anymore.

Looking at her as the padawan rose up and seemed upset the jedi master stood up bowing while she let out a breath. "Alright, you can learn something to practice." She said it with a half smile and squinting before backing away just a little bit to give her some space. Withdrawing the circlet as she held it. "You can practice using this, it will create a small shield a jedi can use to protect from heat, cold and acid rain. It is made to be easy to manifest."

Abbey slowly took ahold of the item and turned it around in her hands, looking at it strangely. After a while she looked back up with a tiny frown on her face, holding up the device. "How does it work?"

Matsu looked at her and gave a look. "You just wear it, the dragon heads on te ends will pick up the force in your body and you can focus on it. "She moved her foot to show it was an anklet for her but bracelets, necklaces, armlets were always possible ways to use it. "You can weat it nearly anywhere and it will work."

She stared at the device again, slowly putting it into her pocket for later use. "Well, thank you... Do you have a set training for me? For tomorrow, or something? I do want to learn but... It's too hard this way. How we just did it."
