New Venture [Chandrila Group]

A slight chuckle left his lips as Alicia mentioned him being a serial killer. It was something that no one could deny. Xilo had been one of the worst ones. He had even murdered a room full of gangsters, thugs and mercenaries for the enjoyment of another Sith. Not that he didn't enjoy the massacre, he still remembered his victims screams of pain and torture. The way the blood had bathed him and the stench of burnt flesh. All so fresh in his mind like it had happened just yesterday. Yet almost all his murders had been committed on Coruscant and any who had witnessed such things were killed. Arya only knew of his tendencies because he had delivered her messengers head to her in a bag. Turned out that was a big mistake. She had used the force to lift Xilo up and slam him into the ground, but he knew such a trick was coming and the first time he protected himself. The second time didn't fair so well.

"You are right, how ever would such a prestigious women have come to known someone like me?" Xilo said winking at Alicia, but he knew what she meant. Appearances had to be kept. "Though you only knew of my murders because I showed you. Hope there is no bitterness over it. Plus if I was such a well known murderer they probably wouldn't have let me buy a portion of Blas-Tech." Xilo said reminding Alicia of her poor messenger. The one who's death she had unknowingly decided. "Since you know me so well you know I can murder for it. I guess I can handle things with one arm." Xilo said flexing his left arm while he looked at the empty sleeve on his right. Kriffing jedi. Opening his coat Xilo would reveal both of his lightsabers clipped to his belt as well as an array of combat knives ending off with his Reverance Pistol. He always came prepared for a fight whether it be in a cafe or simply walking down the street.

Night fell on Chandrila. The car pulled into Emitya, in the car park where Alicia had arranged a room to stay in one of the local hotels. She had paid the extra privileged for her stay not to be revealed or gossiped about. Rumors had already spread that she was in the city, being the famous Chandrilian that she was. Their venture out into the farm lands surrounding Emitya hadn't gone as expected. Only one farmer, Sylas Gorg, had agreed to sell his farm. The other four had turned her down, one after the other. It had been expected that there might have been one who would have disagreed with her proposal- whence why Xilo was in the car with her- but for four of them to turn her down meant that it had been a waste of time. Chandrila Group would never meet the demands that Alicia expected from it with one farm.

Alicia turned her gaze to Xilo. She nodded to the driver and said. "He will drive you back out to the farms. It is time for you to begin using this." She tapped her head. "I want you to convince Talan and the other farmers that didn't agree to my proposals to agree to them. Break their equipment and their resolve. Do not destroy the farms or damage the land. This is a clandestine mission. We have the power to use the dark side and it has the power to blind all those who stand before us. Do not let them know of your presence."

She opened the door and stepped out of the car. The beginning of her scheme had met some hiccups. But the second stage couldn't wait. Making her way into the hotel as Xilo was driven off, Alicia checked in and made her way to her room. She ordered food service so as to get a bite to eat, then showered and dressed into more elegant clothes. Her next meeting was to happen soon.

Xilo knew his mission, what he must do to ensure that the farmers changed their mind. Of course the hotel that Alicia was staying in was quite luxurious, but it was not his place. Xilo's place would be out in the farmlands doing the job that she could not be seen doing. So when Alicia left him with this orders the first thing Xilo went to was meditating. He needed to ensure that he was prepared for such a mission. Who knew how the farmers would react if he was caught, blasters and a drawn out fight were to be expected. Crossing his legs Xilo clossed his eyes and exhaled as he released his hold on the physical realm and dived head first into the force. It was like a ocean of power that he could harness and he drew on it letting it channel through his body. The driver probably thought Xilo insane which wasn't to far from the truth, but any force user would know what he was doing if they had saw him.

When the driver finally got close to the farms Xilo told the man to stop. The same vehicle that Alicia had came in earlier could not be seen twice. Especially not if Xilo was about to wreck the farm equipment. He'd be better off doing the rest on his own two legs. Exiting the vehicle Xilo took off the jacket to his suit tossing it back into the vehicle then he walked out into the crops getting lower and lower to the ground till he finally dissapeared among them. Xilo crawled through the mud it coating his undershirt and pants, but it meant little to him as he made his way to the shed of the first farm while reaching out with the force probing for any potential threats.

Meanwhile...

Alicia entered the Emitya restaurant, the door opened for by one of the staff that was standing there to receive guests. Her name was checked for her reservation and when found, the same young man led her to her table. When they arrived, she thanked him and he moved off to return to the door. Lowering her pursue at her side, Alicia folded her hands on the table and waited for the man that she would be meeting with. A waitress approached, inquiring as to whether or not she could get her anything. "I will have Gizer Ale, no ice. Thank you." Turning her gaze back around, Alicia took to looking around the restaurant. The type of place you would associate with a millionaire. Nothing out of the ordinary.

After what seemed like an eternity Xilo raised up from among the dying crops like a specter haunting the occupants of the farm. Slowly slinking towards the farm that held the tools and vehicles for the farm Xilo searched for any other threats till he came up to the door. The only thing that gave him away was his sickly yellow eyes, while his obsidian skin almost blended in to the darkness. Walking up to the door Xilo noticed it didn't have a mechanical door, but instead a lock holding it closed. The farm owners were foolish if they thought that would keep someone out. Pulling out one of his throwing knives Xilo levered it between the lock and let the force flow through him increasing his strength. Pushing down on the handle of the knife a slight pop was heard then the lock snapped open from the force. "That's why you use security panels." Xilo scoffed as he removed the lock and pushed the door open where he was greeted by the tractor and the tool for the farm.

A smile crossed his mouth showing his white teeth among the darkness, and he closed the door behind him setting to work on the equipment. Activating his saber Xilo began to hack and slash at everything. Even the tractor itself till there was nothing left but a hunk of molten metal. Sweat clinging to his brow Xilo turned and exited the shed before forcing the lock closed again. Of course one would know it was stripped if they were close enough but from a distance everything looked the same. Slinking back off into the fields Xilo began to make his way to the next farm.

Kate was already stepping off the speeder bike at the next farm. With the whine of the engine gone, the air seemed to hang silent but for the gusting breeze rustling through the crops. That's when she heard a familiar humming noise coming from nearby. Eyes like wells of ice water narrowed and she jammed her helmet over her head. It sealed with a reassuring hiss.

The teenager drew her sidearm and approached the barn where she'd heard the noise. Three blinks activated the HUD's night vision, casting everything into shades of green. Shorn caught a hint of movement, a swaying of grass that went against the wind. She leveled her pistol and switched to thermal vision and immediately spotted the glowing form of a humanoid trying to slink away.

"Gotcha."

She fired a warning blast that hissed overhead, silver-blue and sizzling.

"Don't move," she ordered. "Come out with your hands up."

The first thing Xilo heard was the discharge of the blaster pistol, and as he looked up without moving he saw the bolt fly overhead... He had been spotted. Teeth gritted he cursed himself as the voice of a women called out over the fields for him to come out with his hands up. Like she was the law, like she could control Xilo. Tempering his rage at being caught Xilo slowly rose to one knee and caught a glimpse of the women in the armor. The way it caught the moonlight and the T visor gave it away... A mandalorian. No matter what he did in this situation it would probably come down to a confrontation. So rising to his feet Xilo quickly drew one of the throwing knives from his belt and hurling it at the weapon in the woman's hand. Wasting no time Xilo quickly jumped off to the left djust in case she fired the weapon. Shifting his weight as he hit the ground Xilo would come up in a run with his pistol drawn. He could already feel it drawing the force from him as he charged the first shot. As he used his rage to charge the weapon he discharged a round at the women as he ran in a clockwise motion to flank her.

Kate stood her ground as a knife whipped out of the darkness, spinning end over end straight for her. The main part of the blade hit the beskar'gam backing on her hand, though the tip grazed her knuckles, slicing through the glove's fabric and drawing blood before the dagger skittered off into the night. She winced in pain, but kept swinging her blaster toward the shadowy figure, tracking him with thermal vision. The drawback was that Kate couldn't see minute details such as hurled daggers.

A blaster bolt spat from him and smashed into her chest plate, leaving a charred, smoking pockmark. She could feel the heat of the concentrated plasma even from within the shell of the beskar'gam. The young Shorn wasted no time, pivoting to follow the figure's trajectory and relying on the Force for precognition, the same precognition that led the ignorant to think Force Users always got lucky.

She squeezed the trigger on her QQ-83n again and a thin particle beam leapt out, sizzling toward not where [member="Xilo Gale"] was now, but where he would be. Should the stun beam hit Gale directly he would be knocked unconscious instantly as the beam interfered with his nervous system. If it merely glanced his arm or leg, then that appendage would be numbed, rendering continued effective use of the limb basically impossible.

Xilo hadn't even paid attention to if his knife had made contact as he had been in such a rush to get out of dodge. With only two more hanging from his belt he had to be careful with how he handled the situation. Of course he still had the pistol but her armor had took the shot without any problem. Cursing himself for not having armor Xilo noticed that his whole body was covered in mud. At least it would play a role in making him look like a basic thief or a beggar. It even clung to his face. Hopefully the women would take it as him being a common thief.

Somewhere deep in the recesses of his mind Xilo knew what would soon come. Any soldier trained in shooting would fire for where their target would be. Unlike most force users Xilo learned to fight with a blaster and hand to hand before he even knew about his abilities. Before he knew how to harness them. Spinning on his heel to fire on her Xilo was caught off guard by the particle beam hitting the pistol causing the weapon to fly from the young man's hand and out into the field. A powerful numbing sensation traveled up his arm from hitting the weapon and he knew just how lucky he was. Xilo watched but took the chance to play the harmless victim.

Almost instantly as the pistol was shot from his hand Xilo spun to the ground making a painful grunt as he fell into the mud. Acting as though he'd been hit directly with the weapon. Though it did still have an effect on his arm as it was slightly numb. "I give!" Xilo shouted feigning pain. Something he had become all to well at while being tortured. He knew the pleas of a injured man, of a wounded beast, and he would use it to his advantage.

Kate's lips drew into a cruel sneer beneath her helmet. Got 'im. The beskar'gam was clunky and heavy. It would take her a second to get over to the downed thief. Besides, he was still talking, which meant her aim had been a little off. Dead-on and he would've been unconscious. No talking then. She leveled her pistol again.

"Don't move!"

Time to go to sleep.

A hit to the head could kill him, so she aimed for the middle of his back. Not a hard target considering he was just lying there. He probably wouldn't even see the shot coming. Not unless he was a random Forcie. But that'd be absurd.

She squeezed the trigger.

Xilo laid there in wait, just like a beast waiting for its prey. The sensation finally started to return to his hand since he hadn't been hit directly by it. Though he was sure that if he had he would've been down. With how heavy the armor was and the moon being out Xilo simply watched the warriors shadow as she approached. It allowed him to keep track of how close she was. However when she said don't move Xilo did the exact opposite, he saw the shadow leveling the pistol in his direction and so he moved. Bringing his knees up and kicking off with his feet Xilo rolled dodging the particle beam.

The roll he performed was to immediatly allow him to rise to a standing position and from his belt he drew one of the combat knives. Drawing on his rage at the women, at the thought that she would shoot him while he was down Xilo used Force Rage to strengthen his body as he threw the knife at a supernatural speed towards the women's blaster. With her wearing Mandolorian armor she had the immediate advantage of being more defended, but Xilo wasn't encumbered by a great weight such as her so he was fully able to use his skills. Giving no quarter his hands reach down to his belt once again as he drew the green lightsaber from it. Jumping and propelling himself across the distance to the women he would activate the saber bringing it down in what seemed like a straight forward vertical slash but bending in his elbow he change the direction to strike at her hand.

Kate let out a soft gasp of surprise as the thief moved with preternatural quickness. It quickly turned into a curse as she felt a prickle of danger and caught a glint in the moonlight that cut through the darkness toward her. She raised a hand in that direction, brows slashing together beneath her helm as she focused her power in the Force. A small Force push rippled outward, smacking into the oncoming blade and altering its trajectory just slightly enough that it missed her gun, hissing by to skitter off her breastplate, leaving a narrow nick in the surface of the black and gold armor.

She had no time to process the sudden altering in the danger scale, which had just risen from small-time crook to friggin' saber warrior, as the very well armed thief leapt toward her wielding a verdant lightsaber. His blade danced through the air, feinting here and striking there. Kate raised an arm to defend herself and felt the heat of the blade as it connected with her beskar vambrace. Setting her teeth, she aimed her blaster at his gut and squeezed the trigger. The particle beam zipped out. Even if he managed to intercept the beam with his lightsaber it wouldn't matter. The stun gun was based on a variation of the Ssi-Ruuvi paddle beamers. It couldn't be blocked by a lightsaber. The particle beam would just re-angle itself to bend around the lightsaber blade. In short, at such close range it was a can't-miss shot.

Kate didn't want to kill him. Just knock him out and ask him a few questions, like where the hell did you get that lightsaber?

[OOC: It was unfortunate that we couldn't finish this thread to a conclusion. I am going to round up the story now in this post. Thank you for participating and helping me develop this thread back in May/June.]

Her meeting had gone well. The arrangement had been set, made and credits had been exchanged for future shipping. Acavus-class Bulk Cruisers from Emeritus Industries- another corporation Alicia retained a 50% share in- would supply the foodstuffs grown from the farm lands acquired, thanks to her negotiations with the owners and Xilo Gale, who had 'convinced' them to sell.

With the acqusition of the farms around Emita and Nayli, as well as the arrangement for shipping, Alicia would work with the local authorities for the repair and/or reconstruction of docking bays and spaceports that were damaged after the Netherworld event. In the long term, her costs would be covered when Chandrila Group began profiting. Investment back into her world gain her allies in government and served to further her image as an humantarian, which was one of her aims.

The individual that had got in the way of Xilo Gale's work remained a mystery. She was unsure if the person responsible for prolonging the process to Chandrila Group's formation was by accident or something more malicious. She had made enemies over the years and the secrets she held were not as iron tight as she would have liked, with thanks to her former partner.

Alicia decided that, in time, it would be revealed to her and that patience was her answer. For now, she had a new company to develop. One that would return her world, people and herself to a position of power.
